Nice atmosphere good food nice staff very quick service using app Can’t fault it

Purchased the Sunday dinner (pork). Food was stone cold, missing carrots and crackling. Roast potatoes were soft and spongey. Generally low quality food. I would not eat here for free

Save your money and go to greggs,you will enjoy it more.Ordered at the bar and was on the table in 5 minutes which says to me that it had been pre cooked. Sausage mash was just swimming in gravy and peas not cooked. Fish was shocking tasted disgusting and only about 10 chips on the plate all for the lovely price of £30. Will never be going back

I wanted a 10oz steak. Was told they only had 5oz. Ordered medium rare. Tough is an understatement. The duke of Wellington could have used the steak to repair his boots. Should have gone to the baked potato place and saved £25 and got better food.

The steaks were so tough. And chef doesn't know medium rare from rare. Nobody comes round to see how your meal is . Best point about this place is its dog friendly. Might go in for a drink next time. But definitely not eating here again.

Had a Sunday lunch, while it looked impressive it was overall very disappointing. Our meals arrived luke warm to start with, the beef was very chewy and the pork dry. The rest of the meal was bland and pretty tasteless. The advertised roast states free top ups of gravy and roast potatoes but when we asked for more gravy it took forever to arrive, so overall bland and disappointing, don't be fooled when you see the other customers roasts arriving they are all show and no flavour. If you live on microwave meals and budget food then this maybe this is for you lol

Quick and easy service for lunch time food. Food arrived piping hot, well cooked and very tasty. Excellent all round.

Dropped in with dogs for a beer and to catch up on emails etc whilst visiting Hereford town centre. Cask ales were perfectly conditioned and lovely. Only criticism is the nightmare captive portal WiFi that requires email verification to access. Stupid idea as if you don’t have a good phone signal to receive the email then it’s not possible to access receive the email in order to verify and therefore the pub - for some - will present a WiFi black hole. Sadly won’t be back to enjoy the great beers anytime soon…

Havent been in here for a few years since i moved. My old local which HAD lost its appeal sadly. Unexpected visit was a pleasant suprise. Back to the great food ans atmosphere i love. Staff fabulous . Will be back everytime im in Hereford City .thankyou

Had our 25th wedding anniversary upstairs in the function area. We had a great evening, everyone enjoyed the food and the atmosphere was great especially with the Christmas decorations.... The lad behind the bar was great at checking everything was OK several times during the evening. Everyone commented on how lovely he was. Couldn't have helped more with everything. Thanks to everyone involved.

Service was ok, as always, staff were great but run off their feet. Food was ok, bit better than you typical WeitherSpoons.

Lovely pre Christmas pub meals nice staff and clean

Had Sunday lunch here, and was really really good, service was very quickly and there is a vast amount of different drinks to choose from. There is also a lovely beer garden on site where you can smoke and vape. Highly recommended to anyone who what's a meal or drink. It's also a great family orientated place to visit. It's an A +++++++ from me. Well done

Nice friendly place. Decent food, and the prices were about average. Sport (football) on the 'many' TVs. Absolutely massive inside! A few more visits since then. No complaints. Great pub! Very quiet mid-week evenings. Deserves more support.

I had a very bad experience here. The staff were extremely rude. They forgot the drink with the meal deal, refused to then give me one saying that I never ordered it! Quite aggressive. I will never go back there

Food was a bit on the smaller side for portions, especially the chips. But good food and not bad priced

Somewhere to go if you want something quick and reasonably priced without having to always reserve a seat. Does the job. Polite staff.

Only went there in afternoon so can't give a proper experience food good service was satisfactory but not much going on in afternoon but have visited a number of times and will return again.

Fantastic pub! The food is always very tasty and is served hot. The staff are all very friendly, we have been served by Tyler the last few visits who is always very helpful! The atmosphere is excellent with a great variety of music playing at a good volume in which you can still socialise. The Imperial is always clean, tidy and very presentable. Pricing is fair and good value for money considering the high quality food. We’ve never had a bad experience at The Imperial will be back again soon!

Fantastic service from lovely people. Fran was an excellent server. The chef (ben) was on point! Food was decadent and has a stream- line ordering process that puts alot of other pubs to shame. Im very thankful for a lovely time. 5 stars!!

I was served by Georgia who was lovely, and my food was cooked by Jack and it was brilliant.

Service was excellent, the food was a little pale looking and not hot, it did however taste pretty good, colour in chicken goes a long way.

We received a warm welcome and enjoyed a lovely meal, which was served promptly by friendly, helpful staff.

Basically we drive for an hour regularly to come here because we love it so much. The food is excellent, always a friendly atmosphere, the outside is brilliant especially in the summer but also parts under cover for the winter. Thank you to Tyler for taking time out to make us welcome and help us make food choices, nothing is ever too much trouble and always greeted with a big smile even at the busiest of times. And as always, thank you Jake for the warmest welcome Just a very nice place to be.

It's OK I have been three times. Every time were slightly different. Full English breakfast about 9.50 £ without drink. Breakfast for less than 10 quid. Big portion, enough for me.

We were a group of 13 and were in Hereford for the annual beer festival. We went to the Imperial for lunch at the same time last year and had such a good time, we went back! All the staff are friendly and helpful. We dealt mainly with Jake, who is a brilliant host. The food was lovely and there was plenty of it. There was a very good range of real ales too, which is always a bonus for us CAMRA members! See you again next year! 😊

Simply poor quality food, worse than the meals served by Wetherspoons with a bigger price tag... Didn't enjoy, won't be back with the poor quality and price :-(

Food wasn't that great for the price, I had lasagne there was like one sheet of pasta and all sauce. I ordered extra chips as I'm not keen on garlic bread. When my meal came out it was disappointing overall with the poxy small portion of frozen chips that I paid extra and the 2 tiny bits of garlic Bread my meal come to £16 wasn't worth it all for the price I wasn't even full. What I would like to of seen was bigger portions for the price, and better produce. My partners meal was the same small scampi and chips. We were still hungry afterwards, would not recommend.

Ordered 2 fish and chips, the fish was lovely and let down massively with cold chips and undercooked peas served on paper that ripped as you cut the fish....when asked if everything was ok with the meal we expressed how bad the chips, peas & paper were and the server replied oh have you finished now then...took the plates.

Have been eating at the Imperial for over 25 years.Always great value. Visited last week after refurbishment. Looks lovely but food very sparse and disappointing. Prices have almost doubled whilst portions halved. Most disappointed. Won't go again. I,had chicken tikka, chips,narn bread and a popadom. Sauce like thin soup..ha4dly any chicken. Chips below average and small portion. Very small earn and popadom. My husband had steak pie and chips with few veggies. Pie hard and not much meat. They didn't even bother to ask if we enjoyed our meal lol. No w9ndwr there were very few people eating in there.

Tyler was amazing! We wanted cocktails and he recommended and even made us his own cocktails! We returned every night to see Tyler - top barman and cocktail maker would recommend this pub very good

First time staying in Hereford & we decided to eat here. We're so glad we did. Our group sat outside, we ordered our food & drink inside, chatting to Jake, who was so welcoming from behind the bar. The food was soon bought to the table my Ben. He made sure we were all happy & had everything we needed. We actually stayed for more drinks, as we were having such a great evening.

Amazing food was cooked amazingly by who I assume was Ben & Dylan... The guys at the bar where brilliant even if they did trick my partner into drinking the strawberry flavoured cider (poison) by all accounts :D Served by jake :)

Always enjoy food and drinks here. Staff always make you feel welcome, Jake especially. He always remembers his customers and their "usual" drink , always nice to see a friendly face when I go in.

Staff are really helpful and professional at the same time. Food is great we travel 50 miles every 2-3 weeks for Sunday lunch and is worth every mile. Jake, Georgia, Gareth, Charlie and Sky were very helpful and made the meal extra special. Thank you.

Most disgusting mix grill we've ever had! Chicken must of been boiled and was inedible. Tbf I've had a boiled egg less dry. Steak was toughier than my doc Martin boot asking for it to be medium rare. I couldn't get my knife through it at all. Partners ordered a mix grill also and his was sadly the same. Ordered extras and after sometime realised they hadn't arrived. Spoke to the manager and he checked out order on the till which was correctly showing our extras. After speaking to the kitchen staff who was insisting they had sent it. The manager could see by the lack of bowls on the table we hadn't received it. At this point I asked one of the kitchen staff to take back our meals including our 1 year daughters food. Stating the problems with the meals Ordered a simple mash sausage and peas. The mash was like cement, peas were like dried up raisins. And you couldn't physically cut the sausage because the was so tough it was a choking hazard. No staff members came up to us to apologise or offer a resolution. Quite sad as we have eaten here before and I was pleasant. If all food served is like this then this place needs to stop serving now.

We had a nice cosy nook to hide away and have drinks and pudding. Service was friendly. Exactly what we wanted. Sky and Charlie did a great job 👍

We had to wait 10 Minutes to order, as we came at Breakfast time. When we ordered the food and drinks came fast, it was very tasty, hot and not too expensive. It was during the week, before official lunch time, so cant say how it is at busy times.

A really great find in Hereford. Food was fast and as advertised. Drinks were served quickly. The landlord gave a great welcome, including water and treats for our dog. All staff were caring. Lovely place and well worth a visit.

Came for lunch with my sister, ended up staying for over two hours. Food was lovely. Jake who served us was great, very friendly guy

Food was standard - staff were disgustingly rude, not helpful at all, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. AVOID unless you want to be spoken to like rubbish. Staff’s attitude absolutely stinks, clearly all need training on their customer service. Edit : After the response I have received I am even more livid about the situation! When we first arrived I waited at the bar because we had a booking when the man behind the bar finally came over to serve us I said “hi I have a booking at 1pm with my name” he proceeded to look at me blankly and say “right” then walked off came back and pointed at a table and said “over there” RUDE. What this company is referencing in this response is a 30 year old man on our table was refused alcohol as he didn’t have his ID with him, we were completely fine with this and said that is fair enough. We carried on with our lunch by ordering on the app, they brought our starters out with our mains which we said to our waiter “oh sorry we ordered starters and mains are they coming out together?” and told us “if you didn’t want it like that you should have come to the bar” no where does it say you have to inform the bar, WHAT IS THE POINT OF THE APP? When my mums steak arrived we had paid extra for peppercorn sauce and what we received was literally a lick at the bottom of the jar. My mum politely said “excuse me is there any chance I could get a little bit more please as there is nothing in there” to which another staff member over heard from across the restaurant and shouted “that’s how it comes in the packet” The attitude on the staff was absolutely disgusting, rolling eyes, dirty looks, tutting. After reading other reviews it is very clear your customer service means nothing to your establishment!

Treated my 18 Yr old daughter to some lunch, ordered 2 pints larger shandy the barman asked for her ID which she showed him. Then went outside to a table for this very rude man to come over to us and say"did you just drink that" to my daughter he said show me your ID to which I asked who are you he said he was the licensee, I explained the barman had already checked it otherwise she wouldn't be drinking alcohol, he did this in front of other customers instead of waiting until we were seated and politely coming over to ask.

I was given a glass of wine from a bottle that had clearly been open for a long time and tasted awful. I took a sip of the wine and realised this. I told this to the gentleman at the bar and asked if I could have a glass of wine from a new bottle. He said he would have to charge me for it. I said that I had only had one sip and he could measure it to check. He said I’d still have to pay all over again. I left the glass and took my business elsewhere.

Food perfectly cooked and presented by Jack , service was excellent and a lovely touch from all the staff with the birthday card, balloon and goody bag, made the experience perfect. Would highly recommend the Turkey roast and will definitely be back again

Similar to a wetherspoons, straight forward but good

Bar is empty but you have to go to the till to be served as the staff do not come to you. They look at you as if you have 2 heads for standing at the bar not near a till. Service needs a major revamp. Respect your customer as customer retention is vital.

Nipped into the Imperial on a day trip to Hereford and so glad we did. From the moment we walked in, the manager (we think it was the manager) was very accomodating by moving several tables together to allow for our party of 8 (plus dog) to sit together. The atmosphere was very friendly and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. The manager brought some fresh water and dog treats over for the dog (obviously) and we then ordered our meal. We were extremely impressed with the speed our food was served and the quality was exceptional all round. Overall, very good value for money. Stand out staff were Tash and Jack (who prepared our food) and then Tyler and especially Mia who served us. I can't recommend the Imperial enough and we'll definitely be going back there if we're back in Hereford. Great job guys!

A lovely find in the centre of town. We had Sunday lunch, which was very good.Very friendly staff (think it was Charlie at the bar). All made to feel very welcome and a great spot for the boys to watch the football. Thanks 😊
