The Maid of Muswell in Haringey

Underwhelming food. The kids menu roast was stingy with half a carrot, half a parsnip and about ten peas. The Yorkshire cut in half also added to the generally ungenerous feel. Two puddings appeared on bill we didn’t have. Server was very nice and helpful but left feeling unsatisfied

Amazing Sunday Roast. We ordered shering platter and it was just amazing: taste, presentation -all good. Very friendly staff. Highly recommend

I have to say, this is a very cute pub outside seating and very friendly staff. I came here with friends to try out the Sunday roast. I got the sharer roast which meant that we got roast beef pork and chicken. We came around 2pm. The roast was a bit of a letdown. The potatoes were not fresh. The crackling was so hard that we couldn’t even bite into it. The pork belly was nice but the beef and chicken not so much it seemed like it had been sat there for awhile before it had been served to us which was a shame because it has a lot of potential. The sharer roast is very filling so we were stuffed by the time we finished our meal, I would give it another go but I would hope that the roast would fresher.

Went for dinner as we heard that the food is really good and wasn’t disappointed ( Avocado &Mango salad with halloumi excellent and Steak pie even better)also we joined the quiz night that happened to be every Tuesday (shame we didn’t win 😅)great fun, great food and atmosphere Thanks team

Standard pub food, small portions, basic presentation, main came seconds after starter, instant coffee (at least the decaf). One extra star because it looks kind of nice.

My local Pub I don't go every week but Im so gladsits there. All the staff are great ( and as I recall they now take cash again ). Its a proper local pub but with good food and great outdoor seating.

I booked for Euro 2024. They advertise a booking for Euros however when I got there they had no idea about Euros were on TV. They only have one small tv. False advertisement. Don’t bother.

We were just knocked out , not only by the super quality of the food , but by the level of care taken last friday concening my step daughter who is Coeliac and needs to avaid cross contamination with gluten foods . The manager called me hours before our meal to advise that altho there were seperate cooking vessels for her food there will still bread + pasta etc. products in the same kitchen so are we still OK , which was fine with us. This showed a level of care we really appreciated. Upon arrival the staff were super friendly and before the food arrived gave my stepdauter her cutlery on a seperate plate rather than just in the box on the table with the rest of our knives + forks. Great cocktails were the icing on the cake for a fabulous Good Friday birthday meal for us all.

Went to this pub on recommendation from a friend who stated the steak was brilliant at this pub.. I ended up with a fatty sirloin that I had to spit out on the plate.. As the waitress came to take my plate, she asked whether the food was too much. When told it was too fatty and inedible the waitress said ‘thats ok’.. terrible food, terrible service and will never return..

Wow! What an amazing night! Had so much fun celebrating with Maid! The snacks were great and we even had bubbly for the countdown and poppers distributed by the staff. DJ was great and people were singing and dancing non stop. Thank you again for an amazing night!

I’m quite a regular there and we always eat, usually Sunday lunch but was a bit disappointed yesterday. My husband had roast beef priced at £18.95 and it really wasn’t very good and only 3 small thin slices

Fabulous Sunday lunch celebrating with friends, excellent food, very good selection, good service, what more could you want.

The food was exceptional. Had the beer battered haddock and have never had better crispy light batter anywhere else. Nacho starter was excellent too as was the chicken schnitzel

What an amazing place! We popped in on Friday for few drinks after work. The place is clean and the seating outside is great with beautiful flower beds all around. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. Service was fast and professional the menus is well varied...

Lunch at the Maid of Muswell for five of us was a brilliant experience, excellent, well-cooked food, great service , good value and the lady who runs the pub was freindly, funny and made us feel at home. It was no problem staying beyond our booked time and we will definitely be going there again.

we went there with friends and as usual the food and the service were top notch I had the nourish bowl with chicken and halloumi and my friend had the chicken burger - both fresh and super tasty. We will definitely come back again

Long walk at Ally Pally then saw this pub with outdoor seating. Had a vegan option so stopped for a quick bite. I had the calamari and chips and my son had the vegan bowl which he said was filling and tasty. Service was good and it was so good to be out again. Weather wasn't brilliant so got a little cold after a while. We would go there again. The other meals being served look delicious.

We had an enjoyable meal here. Huge thanks to the lovely woman who served us, Amara. Our booked table was next to a table of rowdy drinkers. We really didn’t want to sit there with our kids. Amara moved us to a different table somehow. It was a bit chilly as we ‘lost’ our heated table but it was worth it. Service was very friendly. And the chocolate brownie was delicious. We ordered a roast dinner, the food came cold small portion and was disgusting. It tasted like it was from a microwave. Service was terrible. Vegetables were rock hard. Very disappointing we will not be returning. Think twice before visiting this restaurant. I will be advising all local residents of the n10 community to stay well clear of this place!!!

El Maid of Muswell es nuestro pub local, excelente ubicación, pub encantador, pero el personal deja MUCHO que desear. Encontramos a una mujer en particular, tal vez la gerente, ¡era tan estresante y mandona que en realidad no podíamos esperar para salir de allí! Descortés con la gente sobre dónde se podían sentar, porque ella "no tenía el personal para cubrir" ¡no es realmente un problema de clientes que pagan! Todo su comportamiento fue grosero, con los clientes y el personal con el que estaba trabajando, el mal ambiente y nadie parecía saber lo que estaban haciendo.Para un pub que se basa en las costumbres locales, deberían esforzarse más para no alienar a las familias que viven en el área, se agradecería un servicio básico al cliente y una sonrisa.

Busy pub with a nice little outside garden area. Classic pub food and a good beer selection. Very impressed with the new changes and glad to see a local business doing so well.

Came in for a few drinks with my girlfriend, table service under social distancing rules works so well. Great food, really nice staff and not too pricey! Wonderful!

I went in here the night it was closing for the coronavirus shutdown. It has just opened after a very nice refurb' and it is much improved. The shock was when i ordered 2 pints and was asked for nearly £ 11.00 I thought perhaps that I was buying shares in the company. As nice as it looks I won't be going back there in a hurry.

The recent refurbishment of both the interior and the outside spaces is a great improvement. The Maid has always been a nice typical Local pub but now I'm sure it will become more popular as a destination in itself.

I totally agree with Beachsounds review of this Pub! After coming to this pub for 20 years I can say that It has very much changed the worst and the new supervisor is extremely rude and offensive. I have seen her shout at customers on several occasions especially after a pub quiz. Maybe you should reconsider your staff?

Almorzamos a mitad de semana en este agradable pub. Sorprendentemente, todavía pudimos comer afuera a fines de septiembre. Gran servicio de mujer joven bar mujer. 1 x pescado y patatas fritas y 1 x escalope de pollo, ambos excelentes. Enormes porciones!

Stayed near at B&B so popped in for a drink and very nice choice and friendly and sat outside amongst the nice floral display.

We’ve seen some photos of the Sunday roasts here and were excited to try them for ourselves. I called to book a table for food on a Sunday and was informed that by the time we arrive there probably won’t be any roast beef left. When we got to the pub we were told there were no roasts left what so ever. It was quite difficult to choose from the menu as for us personally nothing stood out. The food in the end was okay however I don’t think we would ever go back.

The best pub in the area. Always nice friendly service and very delicious food and always delivered quickly, even when there are a lot of people. Recommended pub.

Pedimos bebidas en el bar y nos mostraron dónde podíamos sentarnos. Una de las bebidas tuvo que ser devuelta, ya que era una pinta de amargo que no se podía beber. Pedimos comida y esperamos y esperamos y esperamos. Después de que pasaron 45 minutos, supimos que algo andaba muy mal, ya que solo estábamos esperando hamburguesas. We visited with friends a small pub by the corner. I did not think that in a small pub could be a big move. Still a beautiful food and drink. Very and helpful people working at the bar. Delicious food and very hot. Friends have been delighted with the pictures. I'm here for sure and as soon as possible. I highly recommend the pub.

Went for a family lunch yesterday and the pub was so cold. I asked if there was any heating to be told it's broken for weeks and they were not sure when it would be fixed, our lunch got cold before we could finish it. They don't seem too interested in the customers comforts, Good staff but surely this is down to management to insure there is heating in the pub, its expensive enough at £5 for a pint to drink it in a warm surroundings.

Tuvimos una excelente comida en el pub "Maid of Muswell" el sábado por la noche. Siempre un ambiente muy acogedor y la comida era deliciosa, recomiendo especialmente la lasaña vegana.

If you don't want to deal the hassle of an overcrowded pub with long queues at the bar then this is a great place, and I love the area it's in - not a threatening place at all and close to Bounds Green station. The service is fantastic and the decor is nice and welcoming, the flowers add a surprisingly nice touch. Nice selection of lagers are served nice and carbonated and more importantly, cold! Well worth a visit for the friendly bar staff too, especially the manager Jelena who manages to make me smile every time she serves me.

We ate here several times on a recent visit to the area, and each time the staff were friendly and easy-going, the food was hot and good, and the atmosphere was relaxing and cozy. The flowers all around the outdoor patio are beautiful! Our teens enjoyed this place very much, but note that they don’t allow anyone under 18 after 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays. Our family agrees that we highly recommend this place.

Visitamos el pub para una cena agradable. Teníamos pescado y patatas fritas y una hamburguesa. Este es un buen pub local con comida decente. La comida era deliciosa. El ambiente estaba bien (nos sentamos afuera). Parecía ser relativamente limpio. El personal estaba bien. Además, tenía uno de mis favoritos personales, cervezas Camden de infierno! El precio era decente.

Visité la Doncella de Muswell durante el fin de semana festivo. Encontré el sitio muy acogedor para las familias. Había muchas mesas afuera así podemos disfrutar del clima. La comida era muy buena Ann's el menú de niños es abundante. Todo parece estar hecho desde cero y muy fresco.

Last two evenings we have tried to go to the pub it has been closed for a children's party and then a separate party. Seems impossible to just pop in to our local anymore. Is it become a function venue rather than a pub?

This visit was much improved on the last in terms of a warm welcome. Wine was good too. The only thing I thought was poor was the vegan lasagne - it tasted unbelievably awful. Why not offer a lovely unctuous cheesy vegetable lasagne for veggies.

The new management has done a good job in making the pub cleaner food better and interesting beers. BUT I can’t get why they have dropped the old quiz. I come to the quiz every 2 or 3 weeks. It’s great fun and a good atmosphere.

Visited the Maid at the weekend and have to say the new manager has had such a positive influence. It’s a lovely pub with a great atmosphere, very clean with good food and beers and friendly welcoming staff. I can thoroughly recommend it and will definitely return!

"ma'am, algunos de nosotros nos encantan los niños, tenemos hijos, pero eso no significa que quiera sentar en una guardería. Vivimos cerca así que tuvimos oportunidad de entrar y ver cómo con los niños y lleno de carritos es antes de gastar nuestro dinero. 9 de cada 10 veces que vayas a otro sitio. Por lo tanto, un buen pub si quieres tomar una copa donde los niños pueden correr a voluntad, no así si usted piensa que su pub local debe ser un refugio de eso y más centrado en adultos.

Llegó para el almuerzo del día de la madre y tuvimos una comida muy agradable. Ambiente agradable y buena comida. El servicio era rápido, eficiente y muy educado. Gran lugar para un almuerzo de fin de semana y está idealmente situado para una caminata hasta el palacio de Alexandra o Durnsford estacionar. Gracias, volveremos de nuevo.

A decir que mi local durante más de 20 años, es ahora un lugar mucho más feliz bajo nueva gerencia, con la ayuda del personal del bar.

This is my first review on trip advisor, I don't usually use these sites as I don't believe they are always accurate and can be misleading but I feel strongly compelled to write one after being treated horrendously by the manager Gemma for wanting to change my meal after making an easy mistake when reading the menu. She clearly had a personal problem with this and proceeded to attack my intellect leaving the rest of our visit feeling uncomfortable. The other members of staff were very helpful and the food wasn't bad but I'm afraid we won't be visiting the Maid of Muswell anytime this millennium. This has to be the worst experience I've had dining out thanks to one person.. Gemma, the day ruiner and complete contradiction to the word hospitality. Gordon Ramsay would love you.

Visited this pub to meet some friends and it was easily accessible from London via the Piccadilly Line, then just a short bus journey from Bounds Green but probably within walking distance too. I drank Peroni but the bar staff let me try some rather interesting strawberry flavoured craft beer and I spied a varied selection of gins too, so whether you're into the usual stuff or something more quirky you're covered here. A very nice and relaxing ambience on a Wednesday night and friendly bae staff, my guy was called Jimmy. Will definitely be returning!!

I have been a regular in this pub for over 20 years, and I must admit it has gone through a transition period from bad to good under new management, I'm sure they will sort out the lack of beer situation referred to in the previous review this week I'm assured by the new manager. The pub is now very clean and the staff are very friendly so lets all pull together and give it a chance to prove its one of the best pubs in Muswell Hill. I wish the new management every success.

I'm new to Muswell Hill so I don't know if this pub always been like this, but it never seems to have what you want at weekends, I like a few pints of larger I used to drink Carling, but they have now stopped doing Carling and replaced it with some fruit beer at £5,50 a pint. They then had Amstel which is not bad, but today they didn't even have that, barman said if I waited until Tuesday / Wednesday they might have some, long time to wait for a pint, looks like they just forget to order it, I would have though the first rule of running pub is "GET STOCK, otherwise your customers go up to Weatherspoons in Muswell Hill where its half the price and they always have the beer you want in stock. This pub needs a reality check.

This is my local, unfortunately it has not always been run well, and the last few years have not been its finest.
