Used to be good but must say £5 for a bacon roll is the problem here and it's empty which is understandable considering the fekin prices. How disappointing that ripping of locals only makes small businesses like yours not worth supporting..

Jenny's is a greasy spoon on Muswell Hill Broadway. It's a sunny morning but the light is struggling to get in. This mirrors the black and white stock photos of London and Venice on the walls. I'm sitting on a classic chrome cafe chair. Every customer is reading. One bespectacled bloke carefully rips out an article from the Guardian, folds it twice and places it with intention in his breast pocket. A cultured lady in linen with a pencil in her messy hair studies a dog-eared paperback. An older woman is reading Boris Johnson's column in the Daily Mail - I wonder what he has to say? The food here is okay, a bit uninspiring. It felt a bit caught between proper greasy spoon and trying to be smarter than it is. One of the posters on the wall is a heavily salted and decorated steak with a bottle of red wine. Who is ordering that? Is this a restaurant or is it a cafe? Can it be a cafe if it's in Muswell Hill? The Halloumi was 'grill cheese' which meant it lacked that characteristic tanginess, and it cost me £4 extra rather than a straight swap into my English Breakfast. The tea was hearty and the toast was warm and buttered with generosity. The staff were really friendly, polite and didn't rush me. They have created a warm and welcoming community space. I fall into a one-way conversation with a history teacher from Huntingdon. He is going to Andrea Chenier at the Royal Opera House this evening to celebrate his 75th birthday. It isn't clear how many people are in his travelling party - it sounds like it may be just the 1. Jonas Kauffman is a genius you know, but it's not exactly Tosca. No I haven't been to the opera, but I am assured with a double tap on the shoulder that I would love it.

I've been here a few time over the past few months and the food has always been fresh. I think the prices are a little more than usual of its type of food menu, but the fact that it has been in business for so many years speaks for itself.

The food was very good and they hosted very well.

Hot chocolate had completely leaked through - cup had broken. Ordered croissant and received a scone type bun. Jacket potato was undercooked with very limited filling. very disappointed

Love this little place for breakfast brunch or lunch. Food always good and excellent value for money. Service is quick too and everything cooked fresh.The atmosphere is friendly , the waitresses always polite and look out for you, opening the doors and greeting you and also saying goodbye in a friendly manner. There a lot of regulars too and they obviously enjoy the food and being looked after.

Excellent brunch menu and good value from friendly staff. Been back several times and taken friends too. Would recommend for kids too.

I come to this place on my break, i had Ceasar salad, Halloumi salad, smoked salmon salad many times, so very nice, i tried the omelette with cheese and mushrokm with chips and salad very good portions, i recommend it, their cakes are also very nice, especially the chocolate cake

I havnt been for some months and was looking forward to the roast beef dinner again!. Unfortunately the prices have gone up and the portion was smaller (one Brussel sprout) mixed veg was OK, potatoes under cooked and before I could ask the waiter a question he was off!, I had to chase him to ask it!, and even then they didn't seem to know what Yorkshire pudding is?!. I normally come out stuffed and smiling but today I was sadly a little disappointed 😞

Fantastic gem. Really glad I found this place. The menu is basic but has everything that you need for a quick bite to eat. The cake selection for dessert was really nice. Staff friendly. Portions were generous.

I really like going to Jennys. It’s clean and friendly and the coffee is so good. Food is all fresh and served up with a smile. I order the omelettes and am never disappointed. Delicious. Jennys really is one of the better cafes in Muswell Hill. Nice to be in a cafe with a big heart. It has good old fashioned table service but with a contemporary quality to the food and interior. I recommend it!

Best wraps ever, big juicy, soup was brain and heart warmer(very nutricious) and the carrot cake-piece of heavens.. 🙏🌺 well see the picture(it was a takeaway) 💗🙏 staff are lovely 🌈💗🙏

We had a family breakfast here the morning after a night at Ally Pally. Great service, great food and very reasonable prices.

I paid 8.50 for a jacket potato with barely any cheese on in. I asked for 4 nuggets on its own they told me they’ll charge me meal price for it. First and last time dining here.

I ordered breakfast with delivery. I also asked them to give me cutlery. They didn't deliver breakfast, which I had to pick up myself, and they didn't provide cutlery.

Delicious meals and drinks. Kind stuffs and clean atmosphere. Turkish simit is the best. The menu is Mediterranean but reasonably priced. The service is considerate and friendly. The chicken Caesar salad was one of the best I have tasted. Plenty of chicken, superb sauce and topped of with a breadcrumb coated poached egg. Will come here again.

An absolute joke of a business, they do not let you swap items due to dietary restrictions, hospitality was rude and food came cold after waiting 25 minutes. Overpriced too. Do not come here.

Food quality is terrible. Smoothie is made from frozen fruits and they charged £5 for it, an actual rip off! Pancakes supposed to have mixed berries and they gave us frozen mix of something resembling berries and charged extra £2 for it??? Really disappointed as the reviews were really promising a good breakfast! Only good thing is a nice staff.

Freezing cold under cooked and my milkshake was under half full

Food was average at most, had a halloumi breakfast and was still hungry, big plate but little on it. I got the apple crumble slice afterwards and it was quite bitter. The atmosphere feels OK, not high-end, maybe more oldschool. The staff was friendly tho.

Waitresses are so lovely and welcoming food is also delicious. Would definitely recommend coming here for lunch or breakfast

I didn't get a menu when I arrived. Asked for a toasted sandwich and it came out without cheese. They added it and stuck it in the microwave to melt it making the bread all hard and soggy. The service was slow and they dropped a knife on me. What a shame this place has gone down hill.

I have been eating at Jenny's for over a year, when I am working in the area it is my 'go to' place for food. The staff are very friendly and efficient, I walk in and immediately recognised with a smile. The food is freshly prepared and is served quickly. A big thumbs up to Jenny's, the staff and the Boss.

I was looking for a 'workmans' cafe Muswell Hill. I'd might as well be looking for the winning lottery numbers. But I found this place it seemed to offer what I was looking for. I would say at a slightly higher price. The food was good. The service was polite, but i think they had a new starter who needed guidance. I had a traditional breakfast with a cup of tea plus x2 of toast, which was £10. It was getting busy before I left. Looking around Muswell Hill, this seems to be the only cafe of this type here.

Friendly, pleasant staff serving value for money food. Good omelettes and the best falafel wrap in this part of North London 👍🏻 Also recommended are the chilli burger and lamb shish kebab. Excellent, friendly service. Very fair prices.

Food was not hot, meat in the sandwich was tough. Chips were cold. Jenny's can and should do better.

I am a member of a local church they introduced me to the cafe . I had a chicken ceaser salad last Saturday evening and it was wonderful after a busy afternoon in Mile End to be followed by a fund raising event at The Wilton Community Church on Wilton Rd . N10 it turned out to be my meal of the day after breakfast in the morning at home .

Good service and good portion size but the food was really average particularly the sausages that were plasticky and dry (they were standard sausages, not vegetarian ones).

Uncharacteristically rude service on a Sunday night. Uber eats description of lasagna clearly stated chips were included, children sprinting down the stairs to get their chips and when I called to say they didn’t arrive I was rudely informed they’ve changed their menu and I need to order separately. Asked for email address to send screenshot of menu showing chips are included and again rudely told I couldn’t have it. I would have happily ordered extra chips had I known however didn’t seem necessary when the menu clearly stated chips are included. Strange way to deal with an error made by the restaurant. Please double check your Uber eats menu, I’ll be happy to provide the screenshot if you’re not too sensitive about giving a regular customer your email address

worst Breakfast ever, egg over done, sausage was like a Frankfurter and it tasted disgusting, beans wore a dark brown colour 🤮. Left it in the plate, people running the place didn't ask why, it was just like they didn't care. wouldn't feed my dog in here.

Ordered breakfast from here - one half of my sausage baguette had enough sausage, the other, as can be seen in the pictures attached, barely had enough sausage to cover half of the bread - for £5. We rang up the restaurant, to ask what had happened, and they told us the sausage must have fallen out, and that each sandwich gets 1.5 sausages, and then hung up on us. Overall, very poor quality and very poor value for money.

This Jenny's has been here since 1976 - I remember it from my school days. Waitress was great.

Bought a takeaway burger because I was starving when I opened my burger I noticed there was a hair on the cheese 🤮and the sausage was like rubber honestly I use to love Jenny’s use to order from them a lot when I worked in muswell hill and thier food use to be amazing I was expecting the same thing but unfortunately I was very let down and lost a £5 because I ended up throwing the burger in the bin very disappointing 😞

Had a lovely smoked salmon salad and a good coffee. Paninis looked really good. Good service and fast.

I ordered a chicken salad and cheesecake but after eating the salad I discovered that the cheesecake was apple pie, something that I don't like and will never eat. I wasn't even asked if this was ok. I won't be ordering again for something that I had to throw away.

Make sure you try their haloumi avocado wrap because it's very nice. I always have the smell thing there. It's made fresh and presented nicely. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming, too.

Seem to change staff every other week. Chef and kitchen staff always noisy. Food pre cooked , frozen and microwaved. Sausages inedible.

Staff badger on arrival Then get the order wrong after telling you what you have ordered twice Then the chef stands glaring at you while eating because you dare to say the breakfast delivered is not complete as ordered ( remember waitress reminded us that burgers come with onions) hey guess what no onions !!! Food was awful Then staff have a ‘discussion’ about lateness and excuses for all customers to hear Stay away !!!

You get what you paid for. Delicious food whatever you order. Their Chips is crunchy like Five Guys. Friendly staff and always on time. Manager/Owner called Mehmet is a friendly man and knows exactly how to treat his customers. My kids love their food. Must visit Jenny's if you are around Alexandra Palace Muswell Hill.

No Tea Came. Beans were all over everything, making Hash Brown soggy. They should serve them separately. Will not order from here again.

I don’t know what’s happened to Jenny’s but it is not the same. I didn’t want to leave a not so good review but this is the third time that this place has let me down now. Firstly all the waiting staff since last year have changed, there used to be teens who were exceptionally good but they’ve all gone. The women yesterday had an attitude and was very rude. I asked for a highchair then when she bought it over it was so dirty I changed my mind, so I said to her very politely that i no longer need it, she said she would get something to cover the tray and bought over some napkins, however the tray and the seat were beyond cleaning and needed to be binned so I just said no thank you, she proceeded to insist ‘’this is what everyone does’’ Whilst putting the napkins on the bacteria ridden tray, because she already had an attitude I said politely again that I no longer needed it and thanked her for her help, to which she continued to demand ‘’this is what everyone does’’, so I said to her ‘’Im not the type of person to do what everyone does and no longer need the highchair’’ she stormed off and left the highchair at my table, so whilst holding my baby I removed it from our table. When we ordered our drinks (iced lattes with oat milk), she rolled her eyes. Today i asked the guy server (also on edge, had an attitude) if I could swap the beans for something (such as mushroom or 1 slice of toast) else as I don’t eat beans and was told yes but you’d have to pay extra -_- The food has gone downhill and is not the same as last year either (often forget when you ask for well done). Previous to yesterday I got a takeaway baguette and asked for ketchup, when digging in later on whilst getting on the bus realised there wasnt any and had to eat a dry sausage baguette. The only positive is the slightly older lady that has worked there for years, it’s always a pleasure to see her as she is just a lovely person and offers great customer experience (the stars are for her). But unfortunately I go to eat, so won’t be visiting again.

Terrible experience, I sit down order a breakfast and a tea. After waiting 30 minutes I enquire about my drink and the food a waitress comes back asking to repeat my order! No apology What a waste of time. There are a lots of places in Muswell Hill to have breakfast, don't go here!

Hands down the BEST all-day breakfast experience I've had in all my twenty years as a Londoner. The staff is incredibly friendly, the vibe is so family business-like and the food is outstanding. My girlfriend actually over-ordered because anywhere else in London the portion sizes would be paltry and the prices would be extortionate, we were so pleasantly surprised when an entire feast of sorts arrived at the table. We were perplexed when the bill arrived too, I gawked at it and asked the waitress if she was sure- she panicked, flustering 'let me check, I'm sure it's okay' as she started putting together an itemised list. I had to ensure her that I was just pleasantly surprised at how reasonable the pricing was. The only down point is that I was TOO full as we hate the idea of wasting food, but that was an issue of our own creation!

Worse quality and value for money cafe in London. £9.00 for a bacon and sausage sandwich. Not even half a slice of bacon. Called and left compliant but didn’t receive a call back from chef or manager.

New to the area and this is going to be my new breakfast spot. Looks to be a family business and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Food is good and great value especially for this area. Would recommend for a relaxing weekend breakfast!

The guy on the phone was rude and very rushed to hang up, he didn't care when he was told my order showed delivered, when in fact it wasn't. Don't bother ordering online, waste of time

Myself and partner went in for breakfast and ordered 2 fresh orange juices and Eggs Royale & Eggs Benedict. The waitress was very polite as was the owner who welcomed us in when we sat down. The orange juices were brought to our tables first by a young lad who was either the son of the owner or a Saturday worker. Anyway, he plonked the drinks down on our tables and said nothing at all. I commented to my partner that he didn't seem happy. Then a little later our breakfast was brought out by the same lad but this time one of my eggs and the muffin slipped off the plate and splattered onto the floor. He swore when it happened and put the 2 plates on our table and asked if it was alright. I said 'NO'. He said he can bring me another egg out and started to walk away. I called him back and told him to bring my plate away and deliver a fresh breakfast with both eggs. he replied yes I will get you another egg. I then repeated myself twice with the same argument back and forth. I eventually got annoyed and told him to take my plate away and as I don't want the breakfast at all now. He again kept saying he can get another egg and I could tell he was angry and he was also not listening to me. I told him I don't want the breakfast so just take the plate away! He eventually did after more arguments from him. Then when he took the plate off my table all the potato croquettes fell off my plate onto the floor!!! He started to swear again... We could then hear the lady and the lad talking/arguing about the incident in the back. I felt pretty uncomfortable as I am sure the rest of the cafe did. The lady did come over to our table and apologised and I said it is ok. She did offer me the breakfast that was taken away for free. I told her I didn't want it so leave it in the kitchen. My partner left half of her food. The eggs were cold and snotty and the hollandaise sauce was not over the eggs, but was in a little bowl and was also split and cold. We didn't bother complaining about this as we just wanted to leave. When I paid (full price apart from the breakfast that was sent back) the lady apologised again, but the lad was sitting on a table playing on his phone. The fresh orange juice was £4 a glass and was warm and not cold. Not impressed at all especially given the prices were around £8/9 for a breakfast and I have had much better elsewhere for the same money. Overpriced for everything we had and overall a terrible experience.

Purchased a lasagne which had no cheese on it. Chips were over cooked and milkshake was half full (asked for strawberry flavour which they shockingly didn’t have for the first time). I have been coming here for the last 15years and I believe management has changed recently. Really disappointed. Will not be coming here or ordering from here again. One star given for friendly staff.

Had forgotten how good it was. Been a few years since I last visited. A great choice menu. The service was great and my breakfast at lunch time got me through the day. My only issue was the chips were a little on the crunchy side. Will be going again.
