The Mad Greek in Leeds

Lovely traditional Greek food, cooked to perfection. We shared the starter meze - olives, dolmades, hummus, tzatziki, taramasalata and baked feta accompanied with toasted pitta bread. Our mains were Chicken Souvlaki, Moussaka, and Chicken Gyros - we shared 2 portions of Greek Salad between 4 of us too. Everything was cooked to perfection and the staff were very friendly

Great food and service. Jack was a true professional and made my birthday very enjoyable. We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends

Popped in here tonight whilst waiting for my bus. Within 5 mins I was walking out the door with the freshest, tastiest cooked to order kebab I've had since Mykonos. 5 stars all the way.

I nipped in to the mad greek on a whim as i fancied a kebab and i wasn't disappointed. Impressed with the food and the prices.

Placed an order on just eat for delivery as we were staying at the holiday inn, could not fault anything, delivery was super fast, the driver rang to say he was there, food was piping hot and plentiful, the food was absolutely delicious, we will definitely order again when back in Leeds, keep up the amazing work.

That was reeally good 👍🏻 So many flavours, and I don’t know what’s in the potatoes but they taste amazing! Also friendly delivery driver. Five stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Portion sizes were really small compared to last time

Our order arrived 1hr 40mins late, cold and not as advertised. We called the restaurant to discuss a refund and they demanded we return the food. Unbelievably rude. What was meant to be a Friday treat turned into a really negative experience.

Dry, dry, dry. No dressing on the salads, and no flavour in the stuffed vine leaves

Had a beautiful meal here tonight. All fresh home made Greek food and a very friendly atmosphere. When we return to Leeds whenever that may be , we will 100% be back! Thank you

Delivery was on time and the delivery driver was lovely 😊😊 Although the food was luke warm on arrival and a little greasy. Must have been the last to delivered as it was sent out. Not good this time im afraid

Very disappointed, the food was cold, my Lamb chops were overcooked, dried out and really not nice. My partners Gyros was also cold and not very tasty. Having visited Greece and the islands over 50 times in the last 20 years, I feel I know a bit about Greek food, this bore no relation to Greek food. We have had food from The Mad Greek on a number of times and usually been happy with the food, what has happened??

Fantastic food that was delicious.

Fantastic food. We have always loved it but over the last year Mad Greek have really stepped it up. Love that when I ask for no onion or tomato I often get some grilled pepper or aubergine. Always fast and travels well. Tried the custard dessert today which was amazing!

We’ve ordered from here before and it was great but it was a bit of a let down tonight, which is a shame. Especially since it was late, and they were out of stock of some of the things we ordered (they rang to ask what we would like instead, so service was good, but would be better if it was off the menu when out of stock).

I love this place. The food is delicious and the servings generous. My only complaint is that they are not always open as advertised, so it's a bit hit and miss as to whether they will be serving food at all.

Food from ordered to arriving took about 25 mins! Super fast delivery but the food was amazing. Still hot when arrived, salad and sauces in seperate boxes so you can pick out what you don't want ( I don't eat olives ). Really big portion and well worth the money. Throughly enjoyed my yeeros gyros portion. Will be ordering again :) thank you!

We had pork gyros and chicken souvlaki and both meats were very dry. Feta cheese saganaki was alright.

I don't know where to start! From the first mouthful to the last was a taste sensation. The meat was perfect, the salad, fresh, the dip tasted just made( probably was ). Simply put, that meal was fit for Zeus himself. For a brilliant meal like that, I would have expected to pay much, much more. It really was THAT GOOD!!

Best Yeeros in Leeds and the delivery driver was great!!

Chicken was dry and burnt, chips soggy, halloumi portion size was smaller than usual. Had a bad experience last time but tried again as used to be good but won't be ordering from here again. They said it was delivered on the app when it had actually just left the restaurant. Bad service all round, shame as used to be good.

Good food but driver didnt read the delivery notes so was unfortunately cold food by the time we found the driver.

Clearly issues with their delivery service as the food quality isn’t too bad. 25 mins later than indicated by Just Eat.

Excellent authentic Greek food, this year is the first time in 30 years of holidaying in Greece /Islands, really missed the food, the Mad Greek more than made up for that. Pity the delivery was late, but, OK in the end.

Gyros was lovely but the mixed grill was burnt and not great, was a shame as otherwise we was happy with the order and how quickly it came

Good authentic Greek food, well cooked and presented. Delivery a little early, but, no problem at all. Would recommend.

I ordered 2 pork gyros and 2 chicken gyros to be delivered. The price was £38, £9.50 each. What came was a polystyrene tray full of chips covered in hard, dry, salty meat, with no pitta. I rang to complain. They offered to send the pittas!!! I said not to bother. I wont be returning here. Really disappointing poor quality food with an incomplete order.

We've had food from the Mad Greek a few times and it has always been nice but the poor service means we won't be back. Some items were missing from our delivery order and when we tried to call the shop, the phone number for the shop doesn't work (we ordered via Feed Me Online). We visited the shop to ask about the missing items and were told they had run out - they had not tried to contact us (we gave our number when we ordered) to tell us this or to offer a refund for those items, instead they just kept our money until we came to the shop and then agreed to give us a refund but with no apology or explanation for why they didn't try to contact us....

Ordered mixed meat dish ; disappointed as expected more meat for a dish of this cost . There was no chicken even in the dish.

I do not want to write this review, as the food that I have been able to eat has been very good, however, it has to be said that the owners of this business have little or no respect for their customers. Now, I know they are well known for their fiery, or ill-attentive service depending on what time you arrive at night, but I am seriously hacked off with their inability to open and serve their menu as advertised. I understand COVID, I have to deal with it in my business too, but if you put a sign up outside your business saying you are open at 12:30 on a Thursday....then make sure you open. Annoyingly, you have failed to open on week-days prior to lockdown too...as I have found when I have travelled to your locale on two other occasions too. Now, obviously I don’t know your current situation, but if you want any form of repeat business that is not just people tipping out of the local pub, then I recommend you either open as per your stated hours (just eat etc), or you get a website of your own, or you have the balls to state that you will open when the hell you feel like it. I have managed to order and eat 1 x pork gyros in 7 visits. All have been daytime , some have been preorders, but none have been correct. I came down once again on Thursday just gone, to give you one last chance, but you did not come through...again. I am happy for you to reach out and try and reinstate and improve my view of your business, please do as I am still recoverable if you treat me as a valued customer. Ps I want pork gyros...

Food arrived cold thirty minutes after latest expected time. Items were also missing from the order. Called restaurant and they promised a replacement but after an hour nothing had arrived so ended up complaining and getting a partial refund from Just Eat.

Ordered through Just Eat. My exoerience was absolutely appalling from start to finish. Food was ordered at 6.50pn and at the time was told that due to it being busy order wouldn't arrive until 8.20pm. Ok fair enough, however after complaint via Just eat as phone number doesn't work, got a reply that they were busy and running late despite sending a text saying it was on its way at 8.06pm!!! Contacted Just eat after 9pm asked for a reduction in price due to delay and this morning got confirmation that they would credit £3 10% of the meal total.... meal arrived at 9.20pm, and was simply inedible. Burnt sausage, even dog wouldn't touch, chips that were burnt, soggy and cold. The whole thing was a disaster. Will not use or recommend ever again. If your restaurant is busy then do not accept home delivery orders. This was a mess and the food went in the bin. Just short of £40 down the drain, just look at the photographs.

Delivery earlier than stated, but ordered a mixed grill and all the meat was just fatty. Ended up with a £12 pitta bread and salad.

Ordered through feedmeonline, which took my money, but it kept ‘waiting for the kitchen to accept my order’. The phone number they have on feedmeonline (ordering system) is wrong. Phone number on google is wrong. Found the correct number on Facebook. Rang Mad Greek, explained the situation, gave them the order over the phone. Gave my phone number. Was told 40 minutes. 1 hour, 15 minutes later, I ring to find out where my order is, to discover it isn’t coming as it didn’t go through on ‘feedmeonline’. Really disappointed. Poor service.

Have been eating the Gyros from here for years and it is by far the best. Great service and amazing greek food, lovely place.

Food is the best Greek in Yorkshire. Absolutely perfect! Only problem is always arrives late and cold so we have to stick in the oven. But love them

The food delivered was delicious. However the driver could not find the address and was extremely rude!! He expected me to walk to find him atleast 5 to 7 minutes away and would not listen to the instructions I gave him to find our place. When delivering the food he did not say a word, not even a sorry! Poor delivery service. The food was lovely though, couldn't find a fault. Tasty and phenomenal portion size.

Food arrived after an hour forty five minutes, stone cold. Called the restaurant and explained the food was cold and the man who took the call said he would arrange for a refund. Over two weeks later, no refund.

The food was cold. The portions were small. The beef stifado contain 4 beef bits. The meatballs were hard and the Dolomites were covered in fat. Very disappointing. We ordered our food at 18:45 and were expecting out food at 19:40 but didn’t receive it until 20:30.

Good food, the tzatziki was really nice and I could have had more of it. The food isn't salty so it's good for those who like it less salty.

We tried finding an open takeaway that wasn't pizza and this was one of the few still open, the food was delicious, and we would definitely order from them in future.

Food was 30 mins late and the restaurant ticked it as delivered which caused problems when I spoke with Just Eat. I tried calling the restaurant 6 times with no answer. I paid for it up front and was beginning to think that they just stole my money. Spoke with just eat and they said e restaurant has said it has been delivered so they can not track it and I should speak with the restaurant. Who weren’t answering their phone. I got a call from the delivery driver saying he was outside. I got the food. He leaves pretty quickly. And my food is cold!! Really cold. It’s a shame. I’ve eaten at mad Greek before and enjoyed. Hence why I ordered it. But cold food is awful service and not answering the phone. Saying it was delivered when it wasn’t. I’m writing this obviously grumpy and still hungry as I’ve put the food in the oven. Which will also reduce the quality but I can’t eat it cold. That salad inside the wrap will be interesting. Thanks Mad Greek for the poor service

Food was good. Selection wasn't great though, & we requested no onions in one of the wrap but it came with onions in. Fortunately it was a preference & not a food allergy. Everything else great.

Arrived early, and I specifically said no mayonnaise. It had mayonnaise on it. Fortunately for me, egg whites are more an intolerance as opposed to a full blown allergy. Some people require epi pens. That's potentially deadly Other than that, great service, quick delivery and it arrived early. It tasted pretty decent too

Everything about the order was great, food was lovely will be ordering again, only sad thing was that we ordered a halloumi wrap which is under the wrap section and describes an actual wrap but all we got was a container of halloumi, I'm unsure of if this was intended or if the restaurant gave us the wrong thing but as good as all of the food was there was a mistake on the order

Was so looking forward to this but spinach and feta pie had no feta and was cold greasy smiley mess. :( such a shame. Halloumi gyros were better tho

Food always great from here and the staff including delivery are really polite. Only note that if ASAP is put - don't trust the estimated time that comes back.

I waited nearly an hour for a kebab and cheesy chips which cost just short of £20. When it came it was cold - all of it. There was no salad on the kebab, I feel thoroughly ripped off

Utterly disappointed. Cheap, didn't get what we ordered. Specifically chose non spicy for kids pizza however received spicy. So can't eat it. Will end up in the bin. Cold lamb chops. First time ordered from them. Fries everywhere and all cold. Salad leaves withering away. Eeww! Waisted money on large order. Will be contacting customer service. Packaging a let down especially for the pricing. Who the heck is the owner of this establishment. Should really receive a full refund. Never again.

Ordered chicken tikka kebab but got plain chicken which i was not happy about. Considering this I still quite enjoyed it but would have preferred tikka and was very disappointed.

The delivery drive gave me the wrong change when I got in and checked the food was also cold and very bland and took over an hour to come,there is no contact number for the take away to complain it’s a dead line

Some of the best Greek I've found in the UK - I could close my eyes and be in Athens! Friendly driver too. My main criticism would just be that often quite a lot of things on the menu are sold out, sometimes for what feels like weeks at a time (mpougatsa and cheese pie in particular are hardly ever on). Many times this has discouraged me from placing an order because it feels like I'm having to choose from what's left. Great genuine Greek food when it's available!

Ordered food just before the shop opened but my food still not delivered and been waiting nearly 2 hours I phone the shop and they told me a further 45 minutes .

Disappointing - one item was missing and we were told we couldn’t have a refund as we had paid online. The food was cold and the pitta bread was overcooked and hard. This was not up to their usual standard.
