Arrived on a Sunday hoping for a Sunday lunch and were in luck, Sunday dinner was fabulous everything cooked to perfection, fish bucket and halloumi to start, one main of pork and one of beef. It’s rated in our top 3 Sunday dinners ever when eating out. Staff friendly, checked in to a clean and spacious room with a comfy bed. Enjoyed the beer garden on a sunny afternoon and had an evening snack of loaded fries (great idea to have a list of toppings and pick your own) and halloumi fries, again all tasty. Breakfast was a pre order - which isn’t always my first choice predicting what I want the following day, but again could not fault, brilliant. Overall this place was a great find and will certainly call in for food at the least when next in the area, but likely to stay again. The only tiny improvements we could find would be a shower that had some power, and the staff not taking over the pool table all evening after finishing their shifts - but little things that would not take away from a great all round 5* experience.

We were attending a Wedding 4 miles away from the Lowfield. When we arrive we only had 45 minutes until our taxi came to take us to the venue …. We checked in ordered lunch and drinks and were seen to really well by the staff . The pub was busy as they had a 40th bday party and lots of people started arriving . We stayed in the family room 2 x double beds and a big room . The bathroom was clean and shampoo and conditioner provided . In fact everything you would want . Breakfast was pre ordered the night before using a tick list . Fresh ground coffee and a beautiful cooked breakfast with premium produce especially the black pudding ! The staff couldn’t do enough. Thank you to everyone at the Lowfield for making our stay!

Not sure where to start, for those of you who get bored reading long reviews I’ll cut to the chase as a stop over location it was FAB! We stayed for one evening - family of 4 - in the cockerel room. From the moment we walked in the greeeting was warm and friendly and this continued until we left. Room was lovely, double bed, sofa bed and a settee to sit on. Plenty of tea/coffee and kettle. Lovely en suite with plenty of hot water. Heating we could control to suit and lovely to have a window to open (unlike chain hotels). The curtains aren’t blackout so make sure you bring a sleep mask (we always do anyway). When we stayed we were the only room occupied so lovely and quiet. Breakfast was amazing! Absolutely the best breakfast I’ve had. Clearly they source the best ingredients. Gutted we didn’t get to eat in for evening meal but we were meeting family in Shrewsbury. An absolutely spot on overnight stay and a bargain at £110. Diolch yn fawr

We had a lovely welcome. There was a huge choice of menus. The usual Sunday menu as well as the main menu. It was difficult to choose. I opted for the soup and roast pork. The rest of the family had roast beef, curry, chicken supreme and a steak ciabatta. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was good as were the staff. We'd definitely be back.

Every time I come here, I eat a scrumptious meal. They are quite large portions and great value. The staff are kind and cooperative like when yesterday I asked whether the vegan nut roast had a Yorkshire pudding and it didn't (because it was vegan) so they added one for me, no extra cost. The puddings are delightfully delicious and even homemade. The menu changes which I think is fantastic because it can be boring with the same choices.

After driving past this pub many times I finally decided to give it a go for lunch. Having used its fabulous sister venue The Raven, countless times, I was expecting a similar experience. Unfortunately I was disappointed, Walking in the front door, into a dreary looking bar area I was greeted by an awfully strong smell of bleach. Looking around, the whole place needs a good clean (despite the bleach smell) the hanging pictures, piles of old books, light fittings were thick with dust. The decor is just odd, a fairly new pub trying to look old but in a haphazard way. It’s such a shame because the food was very nice indeed, everything cooked to perfection and very tasty. I ordered a pie, which I was told was big. Now what I got completely stunned me! This pie was big enough to feed a family of four! I am a big eater but No way I could eat it all and I felt terrible at wasting so much food. I can’t quite figure out the idea of such enormous portions that go to waste. Probably silly to complain over a too large portion but this was just silly. I don’t think I’ll return in a hurry as I’d rather drive a little further to The Raven.

Was looking for a place to bunker down during storm Babet and nowhere reachable had a room spare. The folks at the Lowfield Inn were fully booked up but the chap behind the bar kindly offered me the spare room he was going to sleep in (he was staying on site), as it wasn't yet fully up to spec, and he took the sofa! Incredible generosity and it was a great room even though it wasn't finished. They were unbelievably kind and helpful and the food and atmosphere were both brilliant as well. Cannot recommend it enough.

Advised to dine here and found the location quite easily although its sits next to an industrial building. Plenty of parking. We were quickly greeted and seated by staff who were very attentive. A good range of dishes on the menu and I enjoyed a well cooked and large portion of gammon and chips. The puddings were especially well presented. Friendly staff kindly opened a cork wine bottle top as our B&B didn't have a corkscrew, or so we thought. Good value.

There aren't many places to eat on the B4386 between Shrewsbury and Montgomery, and so we pulled over here, expecting, from the look of it, to get something bland and average such as you would from a Harvester. How wrong we were. An interesting and varied menu - we had nachos (home made!) with the usual accompaniments, and a butternut squash and leek lasagne with a Swiss chard and salsa and sun-dried tomato salad... (home made, again!)there were three real ales on tap, and I can vouch for the Three Tuns' Solstice Pale Ale. The service was prompt, polite, friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and the price very reasonable indeed. A place worth putting on your map.

We visit the Raven Arms in Welshpool quite frequently & enjoy our meals there. I was anticipating the Lowfield Inn would be similarly good. However I was first disappointed the vegan selection wasn't more inspiring - only 1 token dish, which was a veggie burger without the coleslaw. I requested seasonal vegs. instead of the salad & was asked if I would like fries instead of chips. I declined the bun. When the dish arrived it was presented quite well, but unfortunately the root vegs. were over cooked & almost charred, as was the burger on one side, which was a pity as it had a good flavour. It was under cooked on the other side. Instead of being crisp the fries were soggy & inedible. It almost seemed as if the root vegetables & fries had been reheated. The savoy cabbage was the best part of the meal.On a more positive note my friend had the vegetarian Wellington which he thought very tasty & enjoyed. The ambience & service were welcoming & good.

I was excited to be visiting this pub for a meal last evening as I hadn’t been there before. I was one of a party of 18 there for our annual work’s party. Most of the party had steaks/mixed grill which they appeared to enjoy although the service was poor and 2 people didn’t get their peppercorn sauce until they had almost finished their steaks (despite asking for it 3 times). I ordered the gnocchi and spinach as I am not a meat lover. My meal was so overcooked there was no trace of spinach left. I had to hammer away at the skin that had formed on top, to get to the gnocchi- which was awful. My meal came with a few salad leaves and a tomato, also some pesto on bread. It was not an enjoyable experience. Aah well, I thought, at least I have the lemon and ginger cheesecake to come! Who can mess up a cheesecake? SO WRONG - on every level! The cheesecake was abysmal in itself - BUT - I thought the plum coulis that came with it would be ok? WRONG AGAIN - they had served me ONION RELISH with it. When I told the waitress about this error she just said “oh no!” and promptly took it away - but didn’t return with the correct item! The service was poor overall, although one young waitress did smile! There was what appeared to be a senior waitress serving the mains - her attitude was very aggressive and unfriendly. Needless to say I will not be going back there again and will certainly not recommend to anyone! In fact I will tell them to give this pub a miss!

We’d booked in a group, and preordered, but it was 45 minutes before the starters arrived. My friend had ordered rarebit mushroom, and it was 1 mushroom with a cheese topping and a salad garnish - she felt it was very overpriced. The main courses aware delivered an hour and thirty five minutes after we arrived. They were plentiful and well cooked, except for the burger, which was over cooked and hard. When my friend complained, the waitress said ‘awwww’, and left. It was a midweek visit, and the restaurant wasn’t busy, god knows what it’s like at the weekend. The drinks were incredibly expensive too, £6.50 and £7.50 for a 250ml glass of mediocre wine.

The food was okay, but we will not be rushing back here. It was a relief to get out into the peace and quiet. I really think that when the table was booked, it should have been brought to our attention that there would be this live music playing, as we probably wouldn't have gone. Visited late afternoon on a very busy Sunday. No problem that we wanted to eat and a table soon found in the first part of the 3 dining sections. Bit confused, as ordered at the bar then a waitress came over to take our order too. The menu has a good range of choices with a 2/3 course supplement for a set price. We women chose the 2 courses for £14.95 which can be either starter/main or main/dessert. The men chose the mixed grill and duck. The 'pate' starter was served very quickly, beautifully presented and delicious, however the main of Glazed Ham that soon followed was the best ever tasted. Loads of meat and accompanying veg (with peas & cauliflower cheese-yay!). The meat on the mixed grill was 'melt in your mouth' and the duck 'perfect'. Two gripes would be that the majority of 'wait-staff' look like young farmers in flapping check shirts and jeans or general customers rather than distinct people there to help - and the coffee was bitter and cold. All in all, excellent food and surroundings, would be a great venue for a function, and we will definitely visit again.

The accommodation and facilities were top quality. The atmosphere in the bar was good, as were the food and drinks. I have never seen barmaids work as hard as the two that served our drinks, served our food and showed us to our room.

Lovely small hotel out in the countryside not far from Welshpool! Only four rooms which are named after farm animals, mine was the cow room. A lovely balconie of the top landing to sit and relax watching the sun going.

We stayed as two couples in this quaint Olde English style pub cum hotel. Only four rooms here, we had the sheep and the pig themed rooms which is a lovely way of giving them character. Come along and see how they have created this simple farmyard feeling....very imaginative. The rooms were ample and light and airy with a large velux skylight. Beds were comfy and shower sizeable and all very clean. We were very happy with the price of the stay and as we got there early we decided to have some food at lunchtime. The steak was cooked properly and I had a pleasant cheese salad platter which wasn't on the menu but the staff were happy to make up for me.

My partner and I stayed at the Lowfield Inn whilst visiting Shropshire for a friend’s wedding. We were welcomed by a lovely lady on the bar who showed us to our room. We stayed in the Pig room and we were very impressed. The room was very clean and it had everything you would need for a night away from home. In the morning, we came down eagerly for breakfast. We were sat at a table that was pretty filthy. Cereal spills on the table, there were peas on the floor (I can only assume it was from the day before) and I counted 20 flies on the window. I do understand that sometimes this cannot be helped, but after seeing how unclean the breakfast area was, I feel like this could have contributed to the problem. The breakfast came and it was delicious. Everything was high quality and locally sourced. It was unfortunately hard to enjoy due to fighting off the flies whilst trying to eat. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and believe that the small issues can be easily resolved. We would still be happy to stay again if we are ever visiting the area.

I have been here quite a few times before, but I won’t be returning after the rudeness of the bar man. I went up to the bar to order about 6 drinks and then I took 2 back to the table and someone else asked for one so i went up and asked for the other one and he said in a very rude tone ‘is that everything because people are leaving’ I couldn’t believe what he said to me, disgusting behaviour. As they say a restaurant is only as good as their staff.

booked early evening Monday we were advised a large party was due in but if we got in and ordered we would be ok, we arrived half hour before our booked time a very nice pint of bitter later and food ordered (this has to be done at the bar) would be nice if waitress took order, food arrived and wow very well presented the duck was divine, the wife enjoyed her steak too, the sweets were also very good, we were asked by staff if everything was ok. we will definitely be back bringing parents next time. hopefully the meal will be as good again.

We stayed at a local B&B; and were recommended by the staff to visit the Lowfield Inn for an eveing meal and we are glad we did. The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and the service was quick. It was a little pricey but still the quality was good. The only negative was the smell outside the venue was extremely unpleasant, which we got a smell of each time the back doors opened to the beer garden (which we were sat directly next to), but that couldn't be helped by the pub due to its location next to a farm.

Went for a family meal last night to celebrate a special occasion. All of us have been a number of times previously. We always enjoy the fresh, large portions and lovely setting. And, as usual, the mains did not disappoint-fresh and large portions! However, we were all a bit disappointed with the puddings for the price. Pear tart had a very hard base and the creme brulee top was not caramelized enough and the biscuit with it quite hard. What was quite surprising was the service, from one waitress in particular, unfortunately not welcoming or friendly and at one point actually plonked a pud plate down so hard the biscuit flew off my sister in laws plate & she didn't apologise! A couple of family members commented the waitress had been the same on previous visits. When paying a bit more for quality food you generally expect your waitress to at least smile! Sorry if it sounds harsh on this occassion, we will be back as we have always had a good meal previously, just hopefully to better puds & a smilier waitress!

Went for the first secret diner club evening that is run by Jess who owns the fab 'not today seitan' in liar liar..what can i say?.the food was on another level. Litrally the best vegan food in Oswestry and way surpasses anything else available in a vegan cafe in Oswestry. The food was beautifully presented, the flavours were amazing and the cocktails were beautiful too. Really hope the owner decides to run these evenings on a regular basis although once word gets around i imagine getting a table will be really difficult. Its great to see a vibrant young business do so well and honestly the co trading with Liar liar is such a brilliant idea. Two amazing businesses running side by side. I cannot recommend this highly enough, the best vegan resturant/cafe in town by far
