Decided to get a takeaway here while on holiday in the area. Didn’t want to eat in as the restaurant is very small and the tables are a bit too close together for comfort. I ordered online and it was ready to collect in 15 minutes. The food was hot and fresh. We were given complimentary popadoms, lots of dips and an cinnamon apple dessert which was lovely. The dishes were very flavoursome. The pathia was a little on the hot side (much hotter and slightly different in taste to the usual) and the chicken in one dish (not tikka or tandoori) didn’t taste right so that went in the bin. Apart from that, everything else was lovely.

The Lord Nelson

06/10/2020: The Nelson is a great old fashioned pub, great beer, great service and excellent pub grub. It was very busy in March and they didn’t take bookings, so get there early
10/07/2020: The Nelly is our favourite pub anywhere, with its friendly staff and amazing food/drink but at this time, we still can’t visit as normal but give it’s take aways a go. This evening we had pizza , with Mac Cheese. Both were superb and as always the staff were warm and friendly. Give it a go and support the Nelly

Perrys Fish and Chips

30/08/2020: First time Lowestoft and wanted to eat some "real" fish and chips. We toured the town looking for that authentic fish & chip restaurant and finally found Perry's down a side street. What great fish and chips! The fish was fresh and melted in your mouth, nice light batter and well cooked proper chips! The search was well worthwhile.
26/08/2020: Parents had been telling me that this place was good so decided to visit on a recent trip to Suffolk. Staff were very friendly and it felt very safe with track and trace details asked for on arrival, tables freshly cleaned and waiting staff with masks on. They do a variety of different eat in offers, we both had the medium fish, one haddock, one cod, chips, bread and butter and side of your choice (both had curry sauce). Also included a tea, coffee or squash but we went for a can and bottle of water which made it slightly more. The fish was massive and crispy although slightly watery inside. Chips were really tasty and not greasy at all. We paid just over £16 which was great value as we would pay nearly that at our takeaway at home.
