The Bar 1905 at Moor Hall Hotel is a place you can relax with comfort. The servers Jess, Jordan, Lauren & Zoe have a passion to serve and a pleasure to get served with a smile, great characters of personality and knowledge about the menu if you can’t decide what to have off the menu. Ps, the best day to winding up Libby about Piña Colada’s, where are they? To be fair Libby is good too.

I was incredibly impressed with the restaurant. My partner has extensive food allergies and these were handled with ease. I've only ever encountered this ease once before at The Ivy in London, most people quail at the risk but nothing was questioned. I'm so used to people having problems with the list that I found it hard to believe everything was running smoothly. However, it was seamless – every question was answered with ease and every contingency had been covered. I was supremely impressed. The food for "normal" people was also extremely tasty 😉

Evie and Leah were most attentive to our every need. They checked that we were enjoying our afternoon tea and kept refreshing our drinks promptly. Very polite- not rushed at all. A lovely experience in all .the food was delicious and we were made to feel very special. Will definitely return .

Had a lovely twilight spa and my husband and son joined me for dinner in the lounge afterwards Where we were looked after by Evie…… She was very attentive friendly and professional

One of the best afternoon teas we have had! From the warm welcome and excellent service off Debbie our waitress, to the superb sandwiches, scones that melted in your mouth and cakes and pastries to die for! Nothing was to much trouble for the chefs and Debbie, who went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect as we had a special dietary request also! Would highly recommend Moor Hall for it’s afternoon tea and will be back to work our way through the brunch menu soon!

As a special gift our daughter gave us a voucher for dinner for two at the country kitchen from gift voucher brilliance.I rang and followed the auto guidance for restaurant booking and gave up after 29 mins.I then rang back and chose the option for front desk.after 15 mins it was answered and confirmed they took the bookings. I asked for a table for two at 6.15 and provided the required voucher number to the booking staff. We arrived at 6.15 to a very quiet restaurant with we were told limited staff (one waitress and her ( female) manager.the meal was as nice as expected but the restaurant remained quiet Upon finishing I attended the till area with the waitress to pay for our bill (drinks) When I asked if she wanted the voucher details for verification ( fortunately I had it) she looked dumbfounded and I instantly felt uncomfortable. She attracted the attention of what appeared to be her manager ( male) who took over handling the paper work without an explanation or acknowledgment. The uncomfortable feeling grew I commented that I had provided details upon booking What ever he decided to do it was done in a dismissive way and the paper voucher was ‘thrown’ back to the waitress who was told how to zero out the £44 meal price. She the poked into a gap near the key board All of this made me feel uncomfortable infront of other guests The voucher was for full value (£44) no discount was involved so it was a full paid meal as far as I was concerned These gift vouchers are still for sale on the website A word of warning to anyone buying these vouchers. Staff don’t either know how to handle the or don’t care how it makes guests feel If they continue like this it will ne even quieter in there I wouldn’t recommend anyone to use gift vouchers there until the accept that these are full paying guests I paid for our drinks and tipped the waitress but won’t go again although the three course meal was nice at £22 but I understand it’s going to £27 soon

We are staying at the hotel with my 82 year old Mum, who is visiting from Australia. We had dinner in the Bar and Terrace room and not only was the food great but the service was exceptional. Marian really went out of her way to make my Mum feel special and well looked after. Thank you Marjan for taking such great care of us!!

Although we didn't see much evidence of cleaning the tables in between customers, the food and drinks were good and the staff friendly.

Although the food was very nice and tasty we found it a bit expensive but cooked to perfection and would eat in the hotel again.

This was an amazing experience for an 18th birthday - lovely service, staff were so helpful and the food was absolutely delicious.

Stopped in the bar for lunch after visiting the health club & haven’t really got anything good to say. Service was terrible, tables were dirty & we waited over an hour for soup & sandwiches. We asked twice where our food was, the first time we asked after 35 minutes no one came back to us & the second time we were offered an apology & a free drink - which never came! Wouldn’t rush back.

Such a fantastic setting to enjoy lunch. Lovely choice of food. Delicious pizza! Very friendly, chatty staff. Looked after feeling.

I was gifted an afternoon tea for my birthday and was excited to visit. I was left disappointed with the service, no explanations of what was provided, asked for a hot drink but never surfaced and waitresses disappeared and left to look after ourselves I did speak to the manager but didn't seem surprise about what happened, but read some recent reviews and explains why The cakes were nice and but veg choice for sandwiches were very poor, asked for halal option but not seved it What a shame the service isn't as good as the leisure centre

Tables not cleared service awful cups stained and when we complained they said they’re stained we can’t do anything. Sugar eventually came but still no spoon.

This is a lovely hotel in superb surroundings however my praise stops there. After not being able to celebrate her 90th birthday because of lockdown we took my mother for a long overdue Afternoon Tea treat which unfortunately turned out to be a real disappointment with mediocre food and appalling service. We prebooked for 4 pm and eventually were served drinks after 25 minutes but waited an hour for food to arrive - a whole hour for cake and sandwiches! The sandwich selection was lacking in quantity and quality and the selection of cakes was very samy although there were more than we could manage. The best items were the scones although after an hour’s wait it would have been nice if they had been served warm. I did ask for a refill on the tea but didn’t get it and it should be mentioned that the only cutlery provided was a knife although a spoon or fork would not have gone amiss for some of the cakes. No one bothered to check whether things were ok - I don’t think they cared and we won’t be visiting again.

We met with special friends who have significant birthdays coming up. It was dry, but chilly, but worth being outside to see our dear friends and have lovely food. The service was good and staff as always, were great. We didn't wait long and the serving staff worked really hard to make everyone happy. Thank you all, Moorhall you didn't disappoint as usual. We will of course be back.

Aa lovely place to visit and the food is delicious. It is one of our regular haunts and the staff are very helpful and polite.

Whilst social distancing it was a great place to meet up with 2 of my friends outside with the beautiful views. The food was great and the staff were very friendly.

We had a meal Tuesday at the Oak Room and it was very good. The elegant setting is unchanged although there are less tables. The menu is somewhat smaller but plenty to tempt us.Prawn & crayfish salad generous portion. Beetroot variations was deliciously tangy..Then Hake miso risotto exceptionally well prepared. Too full for anything more. Javier is still in charge so exemplary service..We will be back soon

We came for afternoon tea on Thursday 5th March 2020. I must say the savoury tea was really enjoyable, the food was lovely and the scones which I believe were baked on the premises were the nicest ones I have ever tasted. To add to this perfect afternoon tea was the waitress Georgina who gave us excellent service with a smile and pointed out each cake and savoury by name. She was very attentive and could certainly move on her feet having to attend to several tables but no one was kept waiting. Well done Georgina and thank you for giving us outstanding service. I thought I would like to bring this to the attention of management as everyone from kitchen preparation staff to Georgina gave us their very best.

Afternoon Tea with The Wings Family was extraordinarily good. Fine dining in the atmospheric Oak Room the night before - excellent

Lounge bar warm & cosy , with the log effect fire blazing it felt like home.. We enjoyed a few drinks as we took in the view.

This was a surprise belated Xmas present from my 2 lovely Mum's To Be. We were thoroughly spoiled from start to finish. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you to Georgina the lady who brought us our tea n goodies. Such a lovely friendly lady. Attentive but not intrusive. Gorgeous surroundings. Sofa and chairs were soooo comfy. We had such a lovely chilled out time. We had the lounge room all to ourselves with a lovely fire. Such a warm welcome by all staff.Lovely choice of finger sandwiches and Georgina was only too happy to ensure that my 2 friends sandwiches came without any mayo etc. The cakes were delicate and gorgeous. But OMG the scones were just lush. Light and not too crumbly. Choice of teas or coffees. We opted for tea all round and Georgina was only too happy to refill this for us. I had prosecco and my 2 friends had an Elderflower glass of sparkling non alcoholic which they both said was fab. Fair to say this wont be our last visit. Think we may even include a visit to the Spa next time xx

Bruschetta was not the best, the bread was hard and burnt and they hadn't got what was on the menu so we had to suggest our own topping! A choice of Mocktails is needed, I had to suggest my own recipe.The barman was lovely and did his best with a good grace to meet our requirements.

One of a number of tired hotels I see hanging on a 4 star thread.A very good welcome by reception who were overly attentive.The room was small and tired with a 4 star plus bathroom - like walking from 1974 into 2019!What really lets the place down is the food. The “fine dining” restaurant was fully booked for 3 days on arrival so there was no choice but to use the Carvery. Now carveries are hard to get right at the best of times but what particularly irked me is the same food, more less, two nights in a row. Clearly this doesn’t cater for people staying more than one night. Even more frustrating, night one only two cheeses on the cheeseboard. Following night, diabetically restricted to cheese again, STILL only the same two cheeses! Are there no shops nearby? It’s just lazy.Breakfast buffet had a wide range. The cooked breakfast was poor. Attacking it early, so it shouldn’t have been out too long, dried up bacon, soggy hash browns, and very odd tasteless sausages.Overall really not good enough for a four star hotel mitigated by there being a lot of helpful staff - more staff than I’ve seen in a hotel of this size - and an older average age too which was refreshing if a little unnerving for its novelty.

Great choice menu for a lunch, opted for Roast Beef and Horseradish sandwich, it came with salad and coleslaw and crisps, could of been a dinner, well worth the money.

Great relaxed atmosphere where I enjoyed an afternoon tea consisting of two scones, jam, clotted cream and a lot of coffee. Everything was lovely, the best scones I've ever had

Best food ever and good service.First class waiters very attentive good chose of menu.Very clean and good facility's. Breakfast was just as good and the hotel was bustling with the spar use.

Visited for the first time on a Spa Day.Had our coffee and toast on arrival, Filled out all the necessary paperwork and then had to order lunch at 9.45??? We were presented with our Robe and towel which wasn't of good quality and the towel was so thin it stayed wet all day. So take extra towels from home. Changing rooms smelt foisty and in need of an update. Small steam room and sauna. Pool was warmish and jacuzzi was hot. Quiet room was OK but lighting could have been lower. Lunch wasn't the best. Young waiting staff didn't smile. Best of the day was the facial at the end. Lovely young lady. Would I return.... Probably not. Better Spas in the area. And I wanted a quiet spa day, but it seems members are allowed to bring children into the pool!

Part of the stay at Moor all is always enhanced by having a beer and a "proper" sandwich in the Terrace Bar. great all round,

Five of us had a wonderful afternoon tea here. We were warmly greeted and the service and attention throughout our afternoon visit was spot on. The sandwiches and cakes were fresh and delicious. My niece had ordered a gluten-free option and she said it was lovely. Thank you to everyone for making out first visit to Moor Hall for an afternoon tea, a memorable one - especially Georgina for her friendliness, efficiency and kindness. We are already planning our next afternoon tea visit.

I booked afternoon tea for myself and 2 Daughters.when we arrived we were taken to a room upstairs.it felt like we were in a conference room with no view. I asked if we could move downstairs.we were shown to a lovely table .The sandwiches were lovely and fresh as well as the scones.We enjoyed the the selection off naughty sweet items.Georgina was really attentive and could do enough for us.She made sure we had plenty off tea and coffee.We enjoyed the prosseco as well!Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Lovely venue and the afternoon tea was good however the service was very poor. We waited ages to be served , I had to get up and ask three times for more tea before a waitress came over not what I expected and as a result I wouldn't recommend.

Varied lunch menu, prices in line with the standard of hotel. Pleasant outlook over the grounds but despite the log fire (not real) it felt a bit chilly to me.

My boyfriend and I visited Moor Hall for the first afternoon tea we’ve had and it was truly wonderful. The food was excellent and the staff couldn’t do enough for you, they were very attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. There was a lovely selection of sandwiches and the scones and cakes were delicious! Will definitely be returning.

I booked afternoon tea for my sisters baby shower yesterday. The service we received by Andrew and George was exceptional and made our experience even more enjoyable. They were both very attentive and went out of their way to make our time very special. Thank you so much!!

Fabulous hotel and the bar provided a wonderful start to our evenings celebrations with very helpful staff and plenty of seating for our party.

We've stayed twice now , the views are fabulous , over the golf course . Service is good and food is delicious .

The staff are helpful and attentive, try to ensure you are not waiting for service, the bar food is served quickly and there isn't too long a wait for a drink

Had the most wonderful afternoon tea at Moor Hall.

We went mid-week for a rather early afternoon tea. My wife had the Classic and I had the Gentleman's version. Service was impeccable, friendly and efficient and the surroundings overlooking the golf course were delightful.

The hotel provided what can only described as a 'Sumptuous Barbecue'. Not a burnt sausage in sight. However, chicken, salmon, pure beef burgers, salads, vegetables providing for every taste and dietary options. Food was excellent, service outstanding. I would recommend that if you want to hold a meeting followed by a barbecue for your business, family and/or friends, look here first. Value for money in very pleasant surroundings; if weather changes can have inside at the newly refurbished Ladywood Lounge. We had access to both lounge and patio with own bar. To the manager Sam Goss, well done, fantastic afternoon, thank you.

All night was served by pavan and helped by grace was good customer service for myself and other customers, would recommend as somewhere to drink! They are a credit to moor hall

We treated our 83 year old friend to an Afternoon Tea at Moor Hall today and our experience could not have been better. 3 of us had special dietary requirements which they catered for brilliantly and we all had a range of sandwiches, cakes and homemade scones ( with jam and clotted cream of course). However, it was the staff who made the occasion for us, once Angie and Nicola learned it was our friend’s birthday, they organised a little cake with a candle and strawberries, led a staff chorus of Happy Birthday and presented her with a signed momento of our visit. Her tears were happy ones - thank you all, you made her day

Just returned from an over night spa stay at the hotel had a gorgeous superior room very spacious with everything we needed , lovely 3 course meal in the country kitchen with amazing staff especially Ben Karen and Sallah who made us extra welcome nothing was to much trouble we also enjoyed our breakfast the next day so much choice we didn’t want for anything! The hotel itself was gorgeous in its grounds spotless clean, the spa too was fantastic we will definitely return thank you moor hall staff for making our anniversary so special.

I expected so much - a four star, Best Western Premier Hotel - should have been great! It wasn't. My daughter and her boyfriend took me here for lunch on my birthday last Sunday.

Staff friendly here - was sad they ran out of proper balloon gin glasses when I ordered my cocktail. I think I may have been served by a trainee as he looked less confident making a gin cocktail from the menu. I had to ask him to add bits twice - the menu said lemon peel - but there was no lemon in it, let alone lemon peel. No berries either, so had to ask for those too. But I wasn't that bothered.

I recently visited Moor Hall on Mothering Sunday for afternoon tea and Sunday 15th April for a spa day. I was completely overwhelmed with the beautiful food and the friendly staff! In particular Hugh Boyd. Hugh made our visit extra special with his excellent customer service! He made us feel totally welcome and nothing was too much to much to ask for! Thanks Hugh! Can’t wait to visit again, I would urge anyone to visit Moor Hall.

Vegetarian choice of food from the menu was not brilliant, but was well presented and tasty.

We only ordered drinks but despite it being very busy we were served quickly and as there were no seats available staff enquired as to whether they could assist and we found seating elsewhere near the Lounge Bar

Just returned from a group lunch for c 100 people in The Charter Suite.

Had a lovely afternoon...managed to battle the snow on Monday 11th. The food was delicious and plentiful especially the scones ! The staff were welcoming and our waiter (I forget his name which I'm cross about) was very polite and charming and he came out with a cake and sang happy birthday to my mom, a lovely touch. Thank you and see you again.

Five of use enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea at Moor Hall last Friday. One of the members of our party is in a wheelchair, the access was very good and the staff we very accommodating. They also made slight changes to the sandwiches without question.

Four of us went for a carvery lunch at the lounge bar and terrace which is part of the Moor Hall hotel in Sutton Coldfield..Starter choices were soup or a very good salad starter with prawns and fish,mains were Pork,Turkey or Salmon to finish there was a good choice of cold sweets and a sticky toffee pudding. Service was first class and very attentive.Coffee is free if you have three courses at £15.95 two coures £12.95.

The good weather was good and a walk on the terrace cleared the head in a nice sheltered area.

What a wonderful afternoon tea I had at Moor Hall to celebrate my moms 70th Birthday.From the moment we walked in the staff were attentive and pleasant.We were first greeted by D’arcy , a little apprehensive but polite , who served our initial drinks . She explained that she was new and it was only her third shift.During our “aperitif”we were approached by Angie, who I believe was the manager, a position well deserved. She was professional as well as being warm and welcoming. She made my mom feel very special. There was nothing that was too much trouble. She was caring without being overpowering.Then as a complete surprise, at the end of our tea, Angie and another member of the team came out singing happy birthday carrying a tray with chocolates, candle and happy birthday wishes written in chocolate.A very special afternoon. Thank you all!

This was a special treat for my wife's birthday and we were both absolutely delighted. We received a warm welcome from Angie who nothing was too much trouble - a real personal touch. My wife had the Classic Afternoon Tea and as I am Coeliac I was delighted that there was a Gluten Free equivalent - of equal quality and value as my wife's. Various sandwiches, fresh cream scones and cakes plus a pot of Moor Hall's own fresh tea leaf blend. We had a second pot of tea which was inclusive.I mentioned in passing that it was my wife's birthday and Angie came in with a cup cake with a candle on a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate and sang Happy Birthday. A thoughtful, personal touch which was the theme throughout our time here.My wife could not finish all her cakes so Angie provided a box to take them home.At £18.95 each, this was great value, but the over-riding factor here was the quality of service and friendliness which made this an extra special birthday treat. Highly recommended if you want to treat someone special in the surroundings of a 15th Century Country House.

We were a party of 4 for afternoon tea. Nice surroundings and what appeared to be lots of staff, we were welcomed to the dining room and given menues. The teas were bought fairly quickly but after 45minutes we had to find a waiter and ask for our food to appear. It did come after another 5 minutes and was ok. Nice fresh sandwiches and enough other items to satisfy us. Generally speaking the service was slow, although the staff seemed pleasant enough. perhaps they were busy in another part of the hotel.May try this again but perhaps not for a while.

The staff were very helpful and accommodating, nothing was too much trouble. The afternoon tea was delicious, and we all felt we had made the right choice of venue. Definitely would go again.

Three of us went to celebrate an 80th birthday with an afternoon tea. From arrival to departure the service was excellent and the food - particularly the freshly baked scones - was superb. I have never been disappointed when visiting this place for either afternoon tea or dinner.

This lounge bar and terrace is far from inexpensive but of course you are paying for the location and general elegance of the place. The bar area itself is small but the external terrace has a good number of tables with wonderful views over the hotel grounds with their manicured grass, golf course and many mature trees. It is a wonderful place to have a drink and relax. Bar meals including such regulars as 'fish and chips', burgers, sandwiches etc are available. I ate fish on my recent visit which was fine - expensive for what it was but service was good and the general ambiance superb.

We were given an 'Afternoon Tea for Two' Voucher as a thank you gift and it was everything we hoped it would be and so much more. From the moment we arrived ALL the Staff were so polite, friendly and attentive and guided us to the Oak Room to enjoy our gift. From the moment we were seated our waitress Angie couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful and made the whole experience even more pleasurable. Our Celebration Afternoon Tea for Two really was amazing, beginning with a wonderful glass of Kir Royale each and then the Cake stand arrived!!!! Three layers of delicious freshly made sandwiches, scones and cakes went down a treat and of course it also included Tea and Coffee. It really was an amazing experience and really made our day. We couldn't have asked for more and we thoroughly enjoyed every minute. THANK YOU.

I took my Mum for afternoon tea at Moor Hall for her 70th birthday. It was beyond expectations, beautifully presented in the Oak Room with amazing service from Angie. The atmosphere was Relaxed and cosy. Sandwiches on fresh, soft bread and beautiful cakes....even a box to take home those that we couldn't manage on the day. All of this and they sang "Happy Birthday" with a candle lit plate of chocolate dipped strawberries. A very special afternoon. Thank you

Ordered the Monterey jack cheeseburger and Black bomber cheese and plum tomota sandwiches very tasty and full of good produce.Chips were beautiful. Little pots of ketchup, brown sauce and mayo to dip your chips in. Nice touch!

we went with two good friends in May for a Sutton Coldfield Observer Offer of three course meal for £19.50 per person.Nice surroundings and good service. We were givern different menu to choose from and with some drinks and couple of extras the meal came to £115.00. Always nice to eat in the Oak room at Moor Hall Hotel. Regards Gary Saunders

Sitting outside on the Terrace for Afternoon Tea here is just so relaxing, the grounds are beautiful & it was very peaceful. The afternoon tea came with a large pot of tea or a cafetiere of coffee, a good variety of sandwiches & a delicious array of cakes. One of our diners has a gluten & nut allergy & also had a lovely selection of sandwiches & cakes to devour. As a group we would highly recommend buying a jug of Pimm's for £15, it is packed with fruit & goes a long way so good value.We had the lovely Grace looking after us who was indeed 'amazing', professional & nothing was too much trouble.Only negative would be running out of sugar syrup for our Mojito's & a sticky situation with a lump of chewing gum on an outdoor chair.We all look forward to returning for cocktails very soon!

Visited with my family in May 2017 for afternoon tea. Angie was lovely and very attentive. The selection of sandwiches, scones and cakes was sublime. The setting is traditional and the atmosphere relaxed.

The food is excellent and each ingredient complements the otherEat in a relaxed atmosphere with very good service

Drinks here are not overpriced like some hotels , the outside terrace is fab for having a leisurely drink.

I recently went to afternoon tea at Moor Hall. There was a party of twelve of us and the occasion was a Hen Party. We were allocated a room to ourselves and were able to decorate the room and a lovely waitress called Angie even helped us with this. The tea was very good and they catered for all dietary requirements. The staff were all very friendly. I would highly recommend this venue. A.Dawson.

I went in with a friend for a few drinks about 9 o'clock one evening and the barman, Luke, was absolutely splendid. There was a couple next to us giving Luke lots of grief about their food being a little bit late, but he calmed them down and expertly took hold of the situation. The glasses are a little small and the prices are a little high, however, with customer service like that I don't mind paying the bit extra!

After a wonderful afternoon tea, i revisited for a couple of drinks on the terrace with my other half in the sunshine. Surprise surprise the same lady was on hand with her wonderful service! Angie remembered me from my previous visit which was lovely! She was again as chatty & helpful as before. Lovely weather, lovely grounds & lovely service!

On a very busy evening the banqueting manager, Jamie, recognised that we had not reserved spaces for guests that could arrive at anytime. He reserved a large part of a back room bar. He also made sure the kitchen understood my needs, as a Ceoliac, for that and every other meal

Just enjoyed the Celebration Afternoon Tea, which was a gift from Mum's friend for a big birthday. Couldn't fault the service; staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble.A lovely way to spend an afternoon.
