First time using it and I enjoyed my fish and chips they were very nice. I will go back again.

Good people and good food. Hard to find better piece of fish in Brum. Prices are fair too.

No longer uses beef dripping. Uses industrial seed oils like the other chippies.

Top chippy, I’m coeliac & struggle ti find anywhere that does decent gluten free food, but these guys are the place to go for your chippy dinner, even if you have a gluten intolerance

ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS Best chippy I've been to by far! Great menu, staff are pleasant and friendly. Food is always piping hot and the Peri Peri chicken is to die for! Highly recommended

First time in this place but what a pleasant surprise. The chips were the best I have had in ages. The fish was flaky and succulent just exactly how it should be. Only down side was the batter was too much and too crispy but if that's your thing then it's all good. Family was nice and service was excellent.

We have been using this takeaway for 18 months now and to say it has been superb is an understatement. Without doubt the best fish and chips we've ever had. Recently however it's gone down hill which is a real shame, tonite we ordered our usual large fish and chips only to be served two pieces of fish which were not only small by their standards but really greasy and tasteless. The chips looked aneamic and were dry, completely under cooked. When your paying £17 for fish and chips you expect it to be good. They really need to sort themselves out as we won't be going back anytime soon. Really disappointing.

Come here every week. Always OK. Tonight it was disgusting. Ordered large fish and got two pieces of really poor quality fish that was overcooked. Even cat left it. Waste of money. Would not mind if they had said, but we waited 20 mins for food to go in bin.

My order was over 45 minutes late so I phone up and ask were my order was I was told it on it way and it be with me in 10 minutes 20 minutes late still no show and when it did turn up it was cold so I refused the order so I got on the phone to inform then my order was cold the manager came to the phone and he still I not get refund and he not get free food out

I have just been to THE COD POT in cotteridge and all the food is Absolutely lovely and good value for the money and think in got to be the best chippy in Birmingham and as i have been the other chippy in weston super mare and skegg and down to Cornwall and none of them are as excellent as the food from THE COD POT

Have just discovered that the cod pot serves gluten free fish and chips every night! We visited last night and were not disappointed- piping hot, crispy batter and beautiful white cod. Chips were fab too Service was fantastic as well - will certainly pay a return visit

Week 8 of lockdown and we discover that our favourite chippy that serves gluten free is only delivering on just eat! Really, really fast delivery. Heaven!!!! Oh how we have missed our fish and chips! Thank you, thank you, thank you. A wonderful tea was enjoyed by all. 😊🏠

I have used this chippy many times. Food is delish.I have just found The Cod Pot on Just Eat and was about to order but as the delivery was £5.60 changed my mind. OUTRAGEOUS. Cod & Chips £10.00?????? No Thanks.

Amazing GF fish and chips-so delicious, fried separately and GF vinegar too! I am one happy customer-Recommendation to all who need gluten free food! The owner is so considerate to dietary needs to even have GF vinegar too!!! No cross contamination and always happy to help. Top notch 👍

Visit here fairly often. Always welcomed very warmly by the owner who seems a great guy. Food is always fresh and tastes great. Often a short wait for food but I personally don’t have a problem with it, knowing that the food will be fresh. Definitely recommend

Stopped by today at the cod pot in Cotteridge as I just fancied fish and chips I had mini fish and chips The fish was a decent size and cooked beautifully The chips were just perfect and also a generous amount Priced fairly as well . These guys know what they are doing See you again soon

Class but gutted they don't do beef dripping chips all year. Although the manager promised us a free bag if we go in January when they do them.

La atracción se debió a que también lo hacen sin gluten, lo cual es raro y ha hecho que anteriormente los miembros del equipo no hayan podido comer con nosotros.El servicio de principio a fin fue brillante y con un personal muy amable y servicial. Fuimos a recolectar el día e incluso escribieron todos los pedidos individuales en cada bandeja y luego los dividieron en los equipos (¡para ayudarnos ya que teníamos 40 pedidos!).La comida era genial también; Todos estaban llenos porque las raciones son enormes. Sin duda volveremos!

The chips are always fresh, crispy and properly cooked throughout. They use very good quality potatoes you can tell. The Cod is also excellent and the really do care about quality.

Me encanta este chippy. La comida siempre es deliciosa. El personal es agradable y nunca esperar mucho tiempo. Buen tamaño de la porción. Mini pescado y papas fritas con una olla de salsa de curry es 4. 70 pero eso es mucho para mi y mis 7 años para compartir. Viajaría para ir aquí, pero afortunadamente no tengo que hacerlo porque vivo cerca. !

The owners always go out of their way for you and ask you how you are. I love their kebabs really tasty meat salad lovely and healthy and you also get a generous helping of chips. Would recommend.

This is simply the best place to go for Fish and Chips in Birmingham. The owner is great - staff is friendly and courteous and always smiling. Kebabs and chicken are also tops! We've been there dozens of times over the past few years and never been disappointed.

While visiting our son, David Bryant and family, we got Fish and chips! Omg! Caught fresh that morning in Scotland! I've never tasted anything soooo delicious! Going back to see David on Tuesday. Hope we get to go there again!

Cada vez que voy a la cazuela el bacalao, el personal con los clientes y riendo es un agradable ambiente agradable. En la parte superior de esta la comida es cocinada a la perfección nunca iría a otro "fish and chips". Always busy, which is a good sign. Delicious fish and chips, hot and always fresh. Cooked to your specific likes. Phone in to place large orders, especially around lunch and tea times or you may have to wait a while, but worth it. Call to collect or they will deliver Wide ranging menu. Fast, friendly service. Great.

Very good food and freshly made. You have to wait few mins as things are usually prepped there and then but the wait is usually worth it and the staff are friendly.

We've lived in Cotteridge and Kings Norton for over 25 years and used many different local (and not so local) chippys. I'm so glad we found the Cod Pot ! We're never disappointed with our meals and won't go anywhere else for chips (unless we're on holiday!) Best food, value and service by far. Try it !

I've been using the Cod Pot since it opened. The owner Pete and the staff are very friendly and nothing's too much trouble. They have times when you can buy original fish and chips cooked in dripping and although not good for the waistline they are delicious.

Me and my partner moved to Cotteridge in March 2016 and ended up in the Cod Pot because it's closest in walking distance. Considering it's got some big competition in close proximity in the form of Sophie's and Sophie's 2, it definitely holds its own. The quality and service is on a whole other level and for the first quarter (I think) of the year, they cook their chips in beef dropping and they're amazing! Oh my god. Where we lived before, our local chippy's were mediocre and would be for convenience rather than actual want, unlike The Cod Pot! Delish!

After trying different places, the Cod Pot have become our go-to place for fish & chips, as we are always met by friendly and pleasant staff, and the food is great to boot! Highly recommended.

Still the best and the friendliest chippy in south Birmingham..The food is so fresh it jumps itself into the fryer! The staff are always friendly polite and they know how to keep the hungry people served quickly..Keep up the good work

I had a very interesting visit to The Cod Pot. Living in Cotteridge for many years I decided to try out The Cod Pot after using Just Eat several amount of times. It was horrible. I got there and the staff were talking not doing their job properly. Then this blonde employee spoke horribly to me, using terrible language and getting cocky when I was taking a bit of time decided on what to buy. I then had a long, tiring 20 minute wait for my food and this was an off-peak day! They finally gave me my food, not giving any customer satisfaction by saying "Hope you enjoy your meal" etc. Really displeasing. After that horrible experience, I hoped that the food would be good but it turns out the chips were horribly oily and sticky ugh. Never go here.

I went to cod pot after my fussy brother gave it such great reviews and I love it. I gladly drive past two other chip shops to visit here. The food is gorgeous and the staff are so welcoming. Definitely worth a visit!

I live nearby to this place and love it. I am a regular at this place now because of the tastes fish and chips that are to die for. If you are in the area this is a must.

What can I say, large cod is generous and tasty, mushy peas never runny, curry sauce delicious. If I have a complaint I always ask for a small portion of chips but I have never had that. Since it opened I have been a regular and never been tempted to go elsewhere. Perfect Chippy.

I had just missed the 11 bus and had ten mins to wait so grabbed a bag of chips from The Cod Pot. They were the nicest chips I have ever had! I still have not managed to get back to get the whole cod/chips/peas combo as that means a 5 mile drive!

If you're already reading this review, you've made a good choice.Pete is a great host whilst you're waiting for your food.The "chip lollipops" he hands out to the children are legendary.At the Cod Pot you get more generous portions than the other nearby chip shops. And you're guaranteed that the fish you're buying is cod.As chip shops come, this is a good one.

We found this chip shop today after trying to park outside Sophie's. We was going to Sophie's 2 but so glad we didn't. I would say this is one of the best chip shops I've ever been to. Really friendly people and excellent food. How chip shops should be.

Having eaten fish and chips from Cotteridge for years, yesterday I tried the Cod Pot for the first time. By far the best! Ordered 57 portions for 7.30 on a Saturday evening. Arrived on time, piping hot and delicious. The service was so good - cutlery, salt and vinegar included. Gluten free portion cooked for a friend - no extra charge. Cheaper than another nearby fish and chip shop. The guy who runs the cod pot was very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful. Will definitely go again and thoroughly recommend.
