Fantastic place amazing decor and the food was lovely ...will be back

Been many times and always good atmosphere and good unfussy food

Called in with my Mum during a rare day out together. Have been before but not for some time. Decor and atmosphere is brilliant. We ordered 5 choices from the tapas type section for £23. On ordering we were told that there could be a long wait due to a large party but didn’t mind however got our order in before they arrived so it only took about 20 minutes. Food was delicious and staff really friendly. A lovely lunch in every respect.

It's a slightly weird experience coming in here for the first time, but it's definitely not your usual Nicholsons. Team very friendly, particularly Will who looked after us in the dining area. Good beer selection, and the food menu is nice too. Our meals arrived quickly and were very tasty.

A great little find near the train station, we went for lunch and a mini celebration. Cocktails and food were all good. Sorry I only have a photo of my burger which w=is one of the best I have had in a long time! I am GF and DF. The man at the bar went through the menu and dietary issues with no problem. Everything was tasty, served hot, at the same time and with a smile. What more could you ask.

We arrived quite early but were shown to our table by a friendly staff member. Everyone and everything was very nice, lovely and delicious. The only reason for 9 not 10 is its quite pricey especially the drinks but it is a city bar. We always try to fit a drink into our trips to Brum as its a total break from the crazy busy city centre.

16.03.24 - Another date night. This was the first time lve had there at this beautiful venue. It was perfect for our date night. The food was amazing, great friendly staff. Would be definitely coming back again.

Great surroundings, great service and great beer. The food was good, it's high end pub chain food but well cooked and well presented. Would definitely eat here again. Handy for the train station too!

Unique styled bar with Great food

On a very busy Saturday night, we had OUTSTANDING (and hilarious) service from Mitch, and from Simran. They made our evening, but the pies were excellent too !

Just had a wonderful Sunday lunch to celebrate my 50th birthday with friends ar the Bacchus Bar. Great service and fabulous food. We were served by Ellie who was extremely polite and helpful and who added to the whole experience. She really is an asset to this establishment. Great place, Great food and great service. Can't recommend it enough.

We had a great girlie pre theatre lunch at Bacchus. It is a very unique place with plenty of choices on the menu. Service was brilliant from Mitchell. Food was great. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

Superb bar, food and lovely atmosphere

This pub has a great atmosphere, but gosh, the drinks are expensive, £7 a pint!!! Also we ordered a meal. My husband had steak and ale pie, which he said was great. I ordered a nourish bowl with grilled halloumi. The menu described this as crispy kale with brown rice, quinoa salad and slaw, mango, and grilled long stem broccoli topped with pumpkin seeds. No dressing was mentioned. What actually came was lettuce, tomatoe, cucumber, red cabbage, quinoa, edamame beans, long stem broccoli, and deep fried halloumi fries. It was laced with a dressing. I was so looking forward to those lovely ingredients, but i didn't get what i ordered. I didn't complain because it was way too busy, but why can't you just get what you order. It would never happen with any other meal. If you ordered seabass and broccoli, you would not be given deep fried fish and peas. Sort your kitchen out Bacchus Bar.

Amazing atmosphere and lovely food. The place is unique

Discovered this place on Google and couldn't believe how gorgeous it looked, so I decided to come with a few friends before seeing a show in town. I found travelling down into the bar very atmospheric, as it meant you were completing removed from the bustle of the street. With how lovely the decoration was, we were all shocked at how affordable the prices were. Service was quick and friendly without bordering on excessive, meaning that we had just enough time to get in and out before heading off to our show. Abi and Mitch took care of us very genuinely, which was the cherry on top of everything else. Definitely think I've found a new mainstay!

This place is terrific. The layout and feel is stunning, the ambience is awesome and atmosphere top notch. Drinks, plenty of choice and really good quality. All this was helped with amazing service from ordering to bringing drinks to table - Mitchell - he made us feel so welcome and made the stay even more enjoyable with his superb demenour and conversation with myself and the rest of my colleagues. He is a gem of a staff member - and in such a great enjoyable place - this is hard to beat and a must visit for anyone who gets the chance. Oh, and the food, almost forgot - stunning!!! If Mitchell serves you, levels go up.

My friend and I went to Bacchus prior to going to see Sleeping Beauty at the Hippodrome. We were greeted and seated by Abi and our order was taken promptly. Service was by Abi and Jamie - efficient and friendly. Our meal was good and the wine was great. A lovely start to a very special evening.

Fabulous place, have been a few times & always leave impressed - excellent food, amazing decor - couldn't ask for more. We were celebrating a 70th Birthday & our Server Will was an absolute delight and went out of his way to ensure we had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon - thank you!

Unfortunately nothing was great on this visit....poor waitress was working alone and looked like she was dealing with lots of complaints so didn't want to put on her anymore than she was already dealing with...food was not the best on this day ..I have been to baccus bar many times and this was by far the worst it's been...very disappointing as it was for two special occasions.

me and my wife had a meal here with the family had to wait 45 mins for our meal was'nt even told how long it would be either on top of that was charged surcharge and vat not impressed

Nice bar but way over priced. Nice to go for the atmosphere but not one for a long stay.

Excellent service from Izzy. Went there for valentines day and was so impressed. Not only was the food prompt and tasty but the service we got from Izzy was perfect. She was lively and happy and created a fun environment for me and my date.

We came here to finish our night out with some drinks at a relaxing place where we can chat. There was a nice atmosphere and we had a great table in the middle of the bar where we could see all of the unique decor.

Stopped off for a quick drink great vibe busy but found some seats really nice decor high ceilings despite it being under the hotel so underground reasonable prices for the city centre

I usually really like this bar, it was a cool, almost gothic vibes. My server was obviously new, which is fine, but seemed overwhelmed. Didn't know how to make standard drinks like mojito or dark & stormy, kept asking other staff which delayed service as they were also busy. Tiolets were messy. Tissue paper all over the floors. Broken glass in the sink. Seems to be losing charm.

Went in on a Saturday afternoon. A good atmosphere, good range of drinks, 4 and a half pints plus a cocktail £38. Reece behind the bar was brilliant. He was welcoming, exceptionally friendly and definitely someone I would employ to represent my company if I had one. Tables had glasses removed promptly and all staff were friendly. Popped in here while Christmas shopping, brilliantly eclectic place. Good selection of drinks and snacks. Good prices and even table service in a VIP area.

We had our work Christmas dinner at Bacchus, there were 10 of us. I have to say the service, food and venue were superb! All of our food came piping hot, portions were generous and to a very high standard. Would thoroughly recommend.

It was a very loud place, very busy, and it took a long time to get served. The price of drinks were quite high £16 for a vodka and coke and a pint was madness. Too busy and loud to talk. No where to sit as tables taken or empty chairs with coats left of them.

A fabulous bar we have socialised here many times it’s a great meeting place for a drink whilst in Birmingham. It’s close to New Street train station and Victoria Square. Very good atmosphere cracking decor. A Medieval / King Arthur / Knight of the round table theme. The only downfall is lots of people use this as a meeting place but the phone reception is very poor as it’s slightly underground. I always make sure I’m on their Wi-Fi so you don’t miss out on the WhatsApp messages 👍 I’ve never eaten in there but the restaurant side looks lovely and the staff there are very friendly.

Leading up to Christmas it was packed, food took a while to come, everyone enjoyed their meal though.

Really disappointing. First time we have visited for our works Christmas party. Really expected it to be much classier. The food was disappointing and not special at all. Whilst it was served promptly and hot the potatoes weren't cooked properly and it just didn't meet our expectations. The only good point we could make were the staff were very friendly and helpful. I think we just were under the impression it was a really classy place, however, it was very loud and rowdy people shouting and swearing around us when we were trying to eat and maybe we should have done more research on where we were going. As for the toilets there were awful, didn't fit with the rest of the classy decor. Such a shame. We just went on recommendation and the beautiful decor. Doubt we will go back sadly as the building is so beautiful and interesting.

Parsnips plus potatoes where form frozen not good, soup had to go back as it needs warming.not good. bread was hard as was the Christmas pudding. Not good at all .the Pork was lovely. But rest of the meat not too good. One Real Ale £6:40 sad.

This is a hidden gem in Birmingham, lovely decor and knowledgeable staff a must visit.

I love this place! There’s no doubt it’s one of the most beautiful pubs in Birmingham. There’s a great selection of beers and the food is always good. I absolutely loved the fish and chips last time I dinned there, best I’ve had for a long time. The waiting staff were very friendly and helpful too.

Wonderful experience overall, really good atmosphere and vibe. Xayla helped us when someone spilt over drinks and was funny and friendly about it the entire time. Would definitely come back again

First time in Birmingham had a great time here, but could have been a shocker without Xayla helping us with where to go and what to do. Someone spilt a drink everywhere on our table and within 30 seconds she came and sorted it. Top service!

Lovely pub, location and setting really interesting as set under the hotel and had a crypt feeling to it Price of drinks expensive £10.50 for 1 and a half pints but cosy area to chill in.
