The Lamb was fatty and tough also luke warm. Roast Potatoes had microwave taste and cold . We reported the above to the waitress but no management came to see us. As it was a family celebration did not want to create a scene. Overall very poor family experience.

Lovely little pub easily found just off A27 driving out from Polegate. Excellent food and super service plus of course Longman ales. In addition, if there was an award for the best pub toilet facilities, this pub gets my vote!

Very Disappointing We arrived here on a Monday (20 Nov ) lunchtime to be greeted by the waitress who guided us to our reserved table. We had our dog so was very happy to be put in the corner where no one would be passing. The waitress didn’t seem confidant on the tablet she was putting our order into. Later she returned to the table to ask again what one our drinks were and to inform us that the food we ordered (venison) was no longer available. When our food arrived, which was in reasonable time, There was a problem with all the main courses. The ale battered fish was cooked crisp however the inner batter was undercooked and pasty . Very thick. The burger was overcooked and dry. Our dog was a little restless and I walked her towards the bar to stretch her legs. I noticed some dog treats on the bar and asked the lady behind (landlord) if I could have one for the dog. She looked at me as if I shouldn’t have been there. Please do not waste your money here. It is such a shame after the place being closed for so long. Unfortunately the people running this haven’t got a clue and sadly it will join the other victims in the pub grave yard.

Lovely Full Man breakfast today. Hot, tasty bacon and sausage. Coffee was good too. Nice background chill music. Such a great place for drinks and food. Love their Prawn Salmon and Butternut Curry. And gorgeous roasts on Sundays.

Recently opened after significant renovations the Long Man Inn didn’t disappoint. Decided to go out for an afternoon lunch and decided to visit this pub to see what it was like. We ordered the Fish and Chips & the Pie of the day. Served fresh hot and quickly and it was busy. Good range of drinks available. Friendly helpful staff. Outside seating available and close to the Long Man so definitely one to visit if out for a walk with our dog. Parking is in the road so could be busy on weekends but only a short walk if can’t park outside.

My partner swore that the burger she had (the American) was the best she'd ever eaten. I could not argue. Very tender, perfectly medium rare, it was excellent. Only cause to grumble was that the chips were very salty and the "skin-on fries" were not really "skin-on". In fact could not see any skins at all and succulent !

After searching for a place that serves food later in the evening we came across the white heart,on entry we were a little surprised with the cost of £25 for a roast, now I would like to add I have no problem spending money on food but it seemed a bit punchy on price, but being hungry we decided to put that to one side,we both ordered the roast beef,it said that it came with cauliflower cheese so thought that might make up for the price as usually they charge extra. But when it arrived, the beef was over cooked,we had pretty much no cauliflower cheese and the only veg on my plate was a pile of mange tout and literally nothing else! We were asked if the food was ok,which I was honest and said I was disappointed with the lack of veg,due to the fact it’s exceptionally cheap, bearing in mind we had a roast in Brighton only two weeks ago which was full of veg and the beef lovely and pink for £17 I feel sadly this is incredibly over priced for what you get.

I have been going to this pub for over 15 years. I still have not found another pub that keeps the Harveys Best bitter so well - if you still need convincing to come here they have an outstanding chef who has converted me to pies amongst many other things. The landlord and team behind the bar are relaxed and welcoming. They always have fires in the winter. I cannot think of a better pub if I’m honest.
