Visité este lugar con mis amigos y colegas durante el fin de semana y tengo que decir que el lugar es genial. No esperaba mucho, es un restaurante de hotel que se hace pasar por un pub. Pero honestamente este lugar superó mis expectativas. La comida es más que su comida tradicional inglesa (sea lo que sea) , claramente para atender a los turistas palet. Lo cual fue una linda sorpresa. Nos atendió la gerente Angélica que era adorable. Super atento y con mucha personalidad. No te pongas tan a menudo en el personal de bares/resturaunts, especialmente en Londres (a veces) sin alma. Y a menudo no ves a los gerentes tan involucrados con el servicio. Acualmente le dije esto y tuvimos una conversación al respecto. Su respuesta... (por lo que recuerdo) ‘’ Comencé como camarero cuando era adolescente porque puedo hablar con cualquiera sobre cualquier cosa. Saber hacer un ‘buen rato’ y cuidar de la gente es lo que se me da bien, ¿por qué iba a parar solo porque ahora llevo traje’’... Pensé que era muy brillante. Este lugar tiene suerte de tenerla. Gracias Angélica. Y gracias a todos. Toda la noche fue un éxito de principio a fin. Volveremos muy pronto!

Sono stata in questo pub un paio di sere fa con la mia famiglia. Alloggiavamo al National Royal Hotel e una sera abbiamo deciso di provare. Comodo e carino. Mia figlia e mio marito hanno preso un hamburger, io le alette di pollo. Tutto molto buono. Gli hamburger erano strepitosi. Mio marito ha preso due ipa, io una bottiglia d’acqua frizzante e una coca per mia figlia. Tot 75 sterline. Consiglio.

Saturday night and an unbooked party of 7, and Aziz took care of us wonderfully! Organising tables for us to sit at, bringing us rounds of drinks and helping us pick the best menu items for our needs, he really made us feel like VIP guests. Even with the pub being so busy, we didn’t have to wait too long for our meals, and the music selection was good for keeping the vibes upbeat. Worth a visit

The worst service I have experienced in London. Mostly waiters and especially one disastrous waitress. Without a doubt, any restaurant that has less than a 4.5 in London is better not to enter. I don't recommend it even if its prices were 1/3 of what you pay.

Simply terrible service, save yourself from being treated like a fool and the bad atmosphere among the workers. A red flag is that you pay in advance. They charge you as extras for specifications that are clearly described on the menu on a plate.

The chicken wings are so delicious, highly recommended!!!!!!! The owner was friendly, I could watch soccer, and it was nice that I was able to use it comfortably since it was on the first floor of the hotel I stayed in.

Pub attached to the Royal National hotel, without praise or infamy, beers on tap and classic pub food at prices a little higher than usual but all in all acceptable. Worth going there if you have just arrived at the hotel and want to drink or eat something without going around too much

We went there every day for dinner or lunch or a drink The atmosphere at the top, the lovely staff we had dinner there for Christmas a complete menu starter, main course, dessert for 35 pounds And the quality dishes. One evening we arrived at 10 p.m. for dinner they were going to close the kitchen and yet they welcomed us even though the pub was packed I recommend++++++

When we wanted to stay inside, they said it was only for eating and we could only sit outside for drinks, the prices were very expensive. They did not have the beers on the menu. It was unnecessarily exaggerated.

food was alright. Service was downright abysmal. While I don't want to name call, there was a male waiter who was absolutely useless and rude and a female waiter who just threw food down at the table without a care. Absolutely terrible. Do not come here.

I had dinner here on November 15th, 2024, on my first visit to London. The food was great. I had a steak and ale pie, which was delicious. I had sweet potato fries as an appetizer and cheesecake for dessert.

The first pub we set foot in once we reached London. Sat out in the freezing cold even though they had heaters on which was a bit better. Service was a little slow since the place was packed but the food came out at about the same time and quality and portions were good. Not the friendliest of places but if you are staying at the Royal National then it's the most convenient.

Over priced and kitchen close to early for the area.

I visited the place with my husband last week in the afternoon for lunch. We were served by Tanya. She was very friendly and helpful and helped us with our orders! The place was amazing and we had a great time at the London pub!

I had the pleasure of having lunch in this pub for two days during my stay in London and I was really satisfied. The atmosphere is welcoming and traditional, the classic English pub where you can relax and enjoy good food in a quiet environment. On the first day I tried the fish & chips, which was excellent: the fish was perfectly crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, accompanied by golden chips and a tasty tartar sauce. A typically English dish that I highly recommend. On the second day I chose a Caesar Salad with added chicken. The portion was generous and the ingredients fresh, although the chicken, although generous, was slightly dry. Overall, however, a pleasant and well-presented dish. The service was discreet and friendly on both occasions and the prices were average for London, certainly adequate for the quality of the food and the relaxing atmosphere.

The pie was really very good! The Guinness was also very good. However, the service leaves something to be desired. We waited 20 minutes until someone came. When she came, however, she was very sweet.

Bizarrely bad service, had to ask for the menu card yourself... then when you ask to order, you are sent to the bar with a grumpy face to order food and drinks. We both had fish & chips...the chips were tasty but the fish...had no taste at all, very bland and still red on the inside. By the way, the mocktails were very tasty, so there is nothing to complain about when it comes to drinks.

Within the hotel complex is this pub. The food is good, the staff is very attentive and it is well priced. You pay as soon as you place the order and they only accept cards, something common in London. It should be noted that they have Mahou beer on tap.

We loved the atmosphere, the friendliness and the food. Mr. Rui is fantastic, as are the rest of the staff. Thank you very much for everything! We will be back! Big Hug

Worthwhile, me and my group of friends visited the place, already the first minute we were treated badly, we had booked a table the night before but it "didn't matter" apparently, we had to sit at a table without menus, we had to pick it up ourselves. Then we were treated badly by the staff again, looked at us as if we were idiots. We also paid before we got the food, which is very shady. Then, when we got the bill, we react to the receipt, so we had to pay a damn service charge of £18.11, without knowing it. Worst fucking place I've been to, zero service, but paid, they could damn well take it!😡 The guy with the glasses lit up properly when it was pay day, but otherwise he ignored us.

I was there for about 45 min and no one came to offer me anything. Very bad service

I come here with my famille for dinner. They were very busy, but a lady in red told us to wait, have a beer and she would find our table. In two minutes she moved some chairs and tables and find us a place to sit and eat. There was a nice atmosphere. Music and the waiters were running around but having fun!!! The food took around 20 to 25 minutes but it’s busy so it’s expected like this. The food was very delicious and a lot of choices on the menu. But this is the most important thing…the lady in red is born for this business!!! I watched her a lot and she was everywhere. She was making drinks, and taking them to the tables she was talking with the people and she was laughing and smiling with the customers and her people working. I could not take my eye off her. She was delightful. I am not normally writing English reviews (my english is not perfect ). But this manager was so attentive and quick I wanted to tell. And you can see she is popular with the people she working with and the customers. Everyon is happy. And she is a beauty!!! We will definitely come back from France 🇫🇷

Close to our hotel so we stopped in. I think we made a mistake in that it says “pub” in their name and I ordered the sirloin and my wife the Risotto. Well major disappointment. The risotto is basically watered down rice lacking character and flavor and the sirloin steak was 35% gristle with little flavor. Perhaps because we are from Texas and expect a lot from a steak this might not be fair but for the money it was disappointing to say the least. However the gentleman’s burger next to us looked fantastic. I just believe we really picked the wrong food at this location. I would strongly suggest ordering the burgers here. They look fantastic Thankfully they had Beaverton Neck Oil. I strongly recommend this IPA smooth and amazing flavor. Back to the pub…atmosphere is nice. Plenty of TVs to watch matches Just don’t expect too much from the steak. In Texas we would not serve this to our pets. Just not good!

Nice place but a little expensive and slow service

This is a great place to stop by and have a quick meal. The risotto was great. However, this place isn't super accessible and welcoming. Staff were friendly, but we were expected to order our drinks and food at the bar, card only, without a staff member telling us this is the case. Drinks are self-service, and you have to pay the whole bill immediately. I feel like this takes away from the dining experience. I wouldn't have an issue with it if I were visiting just to drink, but when dining in, I would be expecting to pay the bill after and having service at the table.

I ordered a Burger and a beer. The Burger was overpriced and tasted awful, the chips were burnt, the waiters were unfriendly and they even REFUSED my mother service because she is lactose intolerant. She could not even order a drink.

Magnificent establishment, originally decorated, with abundant typical dishes, tables both inside and on the terrace (Hotel Royal National) and the best, the location, just a step away from "everything". 100% recommended

It was an okay stay. I liked my drink however I thought the servers were a little bit quick with taking everything away. Liked my food very much tho!

Had a meal here tonight and expected more. Had pie and gravy was like tasteless water for the gravey, pie was just ok on flavour also had chicken croquettes with no jalapeño but asked for non spicy dressing and got nothing but 2 very small coquettes with a small green sprigs, honestly not worth the money. Coquettes were nice flavour but value for money thumbs down. A little disappointing and won’t be back for a meal while we are staying at the royal national hotel which is part of the complex

I've been to this pub occasionally for a few years, and have just visited for the first time following the recent massive refurbishment. There's a really nice outside area round the back with a couple of TVs that they show sports on. We sometimes went up to the bar to order, but there were also plenty of staff on hand who were also coming round the tables to take orders. I tried a couple of cocktails, really enjoyed the passion fruit martini but the one I recommend is the margarita. I was amazed by how nice it was, I ended up having four over the course of the night (including one spicy margarita, which isn't on the menu but the staff were happy to make upon request - and the spice was real, could only take one sip at a time!). All cocktails are £10.50, pretty standard for London. A few vegan options on the food menu, enjoyed both the cauli wings and the hummus and pita which I thought was presented well. Bit disappointed that the vegan burger option is falafel, I'd be more likely to order if it was fake meat. This place is next to the Royal National Hotel, and a very short walk from Russell Square tube station. Reading some other reviews, I've seen a couple of people moaning about having to pay at the time you order. Yes, and? It's a pub and that's normal from my experience.

Came in last night. I was served by Angelica (who is the manager I believe) and her knowledge of the menu was exceptional. She pointed out the food options available for me. It can be awkward asking about halal options in a place that primarily sells alcohol but she was a delight. All other staff were polite and efficent. Food came quickly and genuinely impressed about the place!

Un buen restaurante en el que se puede tanto almorzar como cenar. Metido en el hotel, para los huéspedes genial. Personal muy amable, falta de idiomas, pero nos tocó un camarero que sabía algo y nos ayudó. La comida estaba buenísima, variada, sobretodo las hamburguesa.Llegó muy rápido. Muy recomendable.

We were a bit attracted by the outside ambience and it was quite ok for a pub. However, we were less impressed by the food: two meals for 15 pounds were not good. Hot dishes that were cold. SMALL portions and service very poor. NEVER go there again!!!

Don't waste your time or money on this place. Service was horrible, bar tenders played on their phones the whole time.

Nog gezellig om te zitten, bediening is ok zolang je niets extra vraagt. De vis van de fish and chips was niet eetbaar. De vis rook en smaakte verschrikkelijk slecht, modderig. Toen ik dit signaleerde, zeiden ze dat er niets mis mee was. Je moet er op voorhand betalen dus geen terugbetaling en ook geen andere tegemoetkoming.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. My burger was very dry. But you can definitely come here to drink, because the location is actually very good.

Very good burgers and beers for a casual meal

Very good burger, with sourdough bread and 2 meats. On the outside the place is normal, on the inside it feels more like a London pub. The service was slow at first to serve but fast to deliver. I would return if I want to eat delicious and fast.

Atmosphere is very young and electric especially when the Euros 2024 is on.

The service was devastating. Always feel like you are inconveniencing the wait staff, very frustrating.

The music was too loud. Asked to have it turned down, they did not. We were excited to get fish and chips. The fish tasted like greasy Kentucky Fried chicken, heavily coated, and small for the $17.50 pounds. Four of us ordered this with beers and thought the same about the fish and chip meal. Don't waste your money. However, it is very close to our hotel.

I understand that they have reopened after being closed for a while. Very good for having a few beers (they have 7 or 8 different brands) and also for dinner. Very good burgers.

A half decent little pub filled with spaced out largely single-party tables. They had a cider on tap, and sport on the TV, which is my bare minimum for a pub. The food was half decent, I’ve definitely had worse burgers, though this was pretty meh. The olives were ok as well.

Good pub to use if you are staying in any of The Imperial group of hotels in Bloomsbury. Nice courtyard with outdoor TV for sports fans (or smokers). Food is served and the fish and chips I had were excellent.

The passion fruit martini and the chicken tikka masala are STANDOUTS and PHENOMENAL. We ate and drank here twice! We could have eaten here every single night if we didn’t already have other reservations. The staff was so kind and accommodating to us. We were hotel guests and loved the pub playing the soccer matches! It’s nicely decorated for the holidays and was so convenient. If we stay in the area again we’d definitely come back!

Very quiet 4pm and security very intrusive

Etablissement vraiiiiiiiment mauvais, certes nous etions une table de 8 mais on a demandé pour manger a l'intérieur en consommemant des boissons en attendant, si on ne les relances pas 5 fois ils s'en foutent ! On decide de manger dehors car l'attente est trop longue, on a l'impression de les embêter. On reclame encore pour commander, les 2 etoiles sont pour les plats qui ont le merite d'être pas mal. Mais un bug survient a la commande, nous avons encore attendu 45 minutes !!! Et toujours les serveurs qui s'en foutent .... Mais nous sommes la pour payer a l'avance comme ca on ne part pas ! Resultat c'est a fuir !!!!

The food was delicious but as it is a pub it was very noisy. You can also watch live football games, which my husband particularly liked.

I only had a drink here as was staying in Royal National and met friends to head out. Not a place I'd go to out of my way for a drink. Far too crowded. However it was decent pint (almost £7!) and of course handy where it is. Thats it really.

Should have heeded the bad reviews and skipped this place, but it was close to the hotel. Hardly any patrons, make you pay when you order. The food was on the bad side of mediocre. The drink was the only ok part of the experience.

Worst pierce of chewy rubber, someone has ever served me. And they had the audacity to call it Sirloin. Never eat here. Its disgusting.

The lady could tell us that the pub would be close in 20 min. Instead we bought heavy overpriced drinks, which were basically a lot of ice with nothing in it. They turned the music of and start cleaning. Very bad experience there a better options around the corner!!

I was here 10years ago and loved it so much i came back. It was a proper English pub back then. Sadly now it is not the same and appears under new management. There is alot a lighting now that takes away from that English pub feel. I asked for a pitcher of pimms and the bar staff did not know what a pitcher was (how is that possible) and further would only serve a glass of pimms. Food was good. No longer an authentic pub. Sad.

Soggiornando al Royal National Hotel siamo andati a far visita a questo pub una sera quando eravamo di ritorno e stanchi. Il pub praticamente fa parte quasi dell’hotel ma non mi ha fatto impazzire , innanzitutto è più caro di altri pub di Londra , hamburger troppo cotti , servizio normale.
