We went for breakfast this morning to be greeted by a lovely lady that took our order. One set breakfast, scrambled eggs on toast and my order which was a little different. I asked for beans on toast with a rasher of bacon, hashbrown and mushrooms. As standard you get 2 hashbrowns so as there extras are quiet expensive I asked for just one hashbrowns and the mushrooms instead of the other. Straight forward swap, price difference in their favour. The lady who served us mentioned this to the lady from the kitchen who looked at me and shook her head. When our food was served the man from the kitchen asked the waitress to tell me he has done it this time but wouldn't do it again, it's too complicated. I myself work in a kitchen and so long as the order is clear it's no real problem. As for being busy we were the only customers waiting for food. I said that's fine, I won't come back. The waitress said she'd relay that to the man. When we left I took my plate back and apologised to the waitress as she was clearly upset by his attitude. This is not the first time he has been rude but it will be the last. In all my breakfast cost £11 for baked beans on one slice of toast, 1 piece of mis shaped bacon (a cheap alternative to rashers) 1 hashbrown and maybe 2 mushrooms sliced. The best part of my experience this morning was the wonderful waitress who deserves a medal!

Lovely cafe off the main Devon link road. Great full English breakfast, served piping hot and big portions. Will definitely visit again when travelling in that direction

We stopped for a late breakfast on our way home from our holiday in Devon. They serve the breakfast menu all day as well as the lunch menu. Staff were very friendly. It was great that we could have the cooked breakfast items we wanted so we could choose just hash browns and vegan sausages. My son who has a limited diet was also able to have American style pancakes with maple syrup and a strawberry milkshake. Lovely cafe for being just off the main road, lots of parking right outside and toilets available.

Nice friendly .but sad toilets are closed . Has people been going into bushes .more human waist in the bushes that in the toilets .

On way to Woolacombe stopped for brekkie amazing beautifully presented so friendly even the boy liked it bonus well recommended 😀.

Stopped here loads of times as we holiday in North Devon usually once a year. Very good for a quick bit and drink with inside and outside seating along with toilet s. Large grassed areas to stretch your and the dog’s legs and well off the main road and more than ample parking.

old guy in the kitchen guessing hes the manager is horrible to the staff and rude to customers. If i could rate 0 stars i would woman whi served us was lovely. found hair in our food aswell. None of the kitchen staff have hair tied up probally explains the hair in our food. Will not return. Horrible place. Old guy need to get some customer skills.

States on road sign on main road “HGV” but has no real facilities. Everything is shut by 3.30, 2pm in winter. Not even access to the toilets. Even the Disabled is double locked. Has so much potential, but unfortunately it lacks in so many fronts

I've been here 4 times in 6 weeks for an 8am breakfast on a weekday. 3 times it's been closed for no reason, despite an alleged 7.30 opening time. All the signs on the way in say Open, so do the times advertised online. No idea whether some days they just don't feel like turning up. The one time it was open the breakfast was fantastic, which is a real shame.

Ordered a cheese and mushroom omelette and chips with a cup of tea. Price £12.75 really too expensive for average food. Omelette £7.35 Mushrooms £1.30 Cheese £1.30 Chips £2.80 They didn't charge for the tea, just as well as it was cold. Sorry I won't go again, also the omelette was cooked very begrudgingly at request of the cashier as I was told the omelettes are too much trouble. Do yourself a favour and go up the A303 to Cartgate cafe, superb food at Sensible prices in a similar establishment.

AVOID - came for a breakfast on our way home after a holiday be told - “sorry no cooked breakfast as there are only three of us in” - by a very officious lady!! The cafe wasn’t full by any means and others were turned away at the same time - we were offered sandwiches or pasties - who wants that at 9.30 in the morning!!!! This has been our regular stop off point for years going to & from Devon but sadly won’t be anymore! Such a shame as it used to be excellent!

Headed here in our trip away as we had been previously and all road signs saying open. We got here and all shut with no explanation (including the toilets!) why doesn’t someone alter the signs as it’s a drive off of the main road before you realise

Stopped here on the way to Saunton Beach with my daughter for breakfast. Lovely staff, friendly and helpful. The food came out hot,quick and perfect. Such a lovely setting, to the start (or end) of the day. 100% recommend

My wife and I our doing as best we can six days a week 10 hours a day without complaining serving you the public as save as possible as quickly as possible like all of us we are not perfect and as we can see we can't please all we are the only cafe toilet stop on the a361 and we do our best to keep everything up to date as we can cafe grounds and toilets we are a picnic site not a hotel I personally have seen a lot worse asking you the public to abide by ours and government rules are for your benefit as much as ours to please work with us not against us thanku

We pulled into here just before 3pm on Saturday because the sign said it closed at 3.30pm. Even before we were close enough to read any signs we were yelled at to put a mask on yet there are no rules about wearing a mask in the fresh air. The next yell was we’re closed. Why did we need a mask it if was closed? Eventually the man shouted at us we could have a takeaway but nothing hot. The poor girl inside seemed so embarrassed by potential customers being shouted at whilst it was open that she offered to microwave some pasties but unfortunately they didn’t look appetising so we took our teas outside. Did we stop on the way home? Absolutely not. If you don’t like the public don’t work in customer service.

Stopped here after a long journey, food was lovely - was a busy lunch time so had to wait about half an hour. Following coronavirus guidelines well & staff are friendly. Would come again

This is our breakfast favourite! Great proper breakfast that is hot, and served quickly. A good set up to be covid safe too. I see people saying the chap is grumpy... This is what is called 'character' and one of the reasons I would go here. We are in Devon after all? I would recommend this place to anyone wanting proper food, avoiding the shoe leather bacon in other cafes.

Got here early Saturday morning. One poor girl serving. Had to wait a fair time to be seated even though there was plenty of empty seats. Tea was stewed and had drunk in by the time the breakfast arrived. There was only ten people sitting but people were told there was a forty minute wait for food ! Ridiculous ! Need more staff of get organised.

Nice place. Food fresh and tasty. Popped in on our way to Barnstaple. Had a ploughman’s and a coronation chicken saladThey’re well set up post Covid so it felt really safe. Food was just what we wanted and staff were friendly and efficient Would call again

Was mulling over where to stop for brunch after a weekend trip to Ilfracombe. Spotted this eatery on the map just off the beaten track (like literally a few 100 meters off the main road). Was not disappointed at all. Menu for breakfast/brunch was spot on. Food was well prepared and hot. Was a very very good detour to this little diner indeed. If your passing by, stop... turn around where safe to do so... and get inside for some lovely food.

Mid trip to Bideford comfort stop. Second visit here, well worth a visit. Good food, friendly and helpful staff. Toilets could do with a makeover.

Please can people use the toilet facilities they are open 24/7 help the staff maintain the site better thanku

The best breakfast ever. Cooked to perfection and served by no friendly staff. Located on the A361 Road this diner has toilets adjoining and a play area with swings for the children. Very clean. It was our first visit but will not be our last. This diner is worth visiting if you are in the area.

Fabulous value, great cooked breakfast. We stop here every time we visit N Devon. Service and environment are basic but clean. You get a choice of tomato or beans, toast or fried bread. Food comes out quickly although it is freshly cooked.They sell a good range of local pies and pasties too.

The best Full English breakfast I've had anywhere. Piping hot and cooked to perfection. The man who took my order was a bit abrupt, hence them losing a star, he needs to watch a customer care video, but the lady who served was nice and polite.

I can't understand why there are so many negative reviews about this place.

We do our best to get things as right as possible no ones perfect, but if you're not happy about something have the decency to come and tell us so if we can put it right we will, 2 signs on the entrance steps no dogs tied up as bannisters are being pulled apart and the shoe brush as we get a lot of farmers in as for yes the condition of the step its being replaced asap and the female toilets are having new doors and the grass will be cut again very soon for the holiday break ;and we only ask if you go down to the benches to have takeaway then we not bothered if cups don't come back,sorry but we do lose a lot of cutlery and dishes when out of sight ; and if we now and again do look a bit dreary its cos 3 staff 9 hours 6 days we all get tired

I visited this place just for a coffee. I stayed for a meal and the conversation. I can see the frustration in a difficult customer and the joy in a fun stranger. I know I was quiet. But I was happy with my stay. Clean toilets and a proper meal. Thè grounds r well kept and the atmosphere was of a home. The dancing staff and the profession clean up. The manager seemed fun and on the ball. The waitresses were more like friends. Only moan is regulars making it's theirs instead of making it a business. Don't let them take over. Keep up the good work.

Stopped for a well earned drink on our way to Clovelly. . Greeted by 2 miserable girls. Dirty little shack, told not to take mugs into the picnic area, both outside tables were taken and picnic tables literally next to cafe! Tea was like dishwater. Clearly 1 tea bag per 80 cups. Signs everywhere telling you not to get mud inside, not to tie your dog up, not to smoke, not to eat your food away from the premises and clearly not to enjoy your visit! A smile, a tea bag and a lick of paint could change everything about this place, such a shame as it’s set in lovely surroundings.

we have coming to Devon for the last 10 years and the cabin never dissapoints, we had a breakfast each,me a small one and my husband a bumper one,both lovely, this place is always clean and the staff are lovely. we also bought some pies to bring home,which i'm sure will be lovely.

After a long journey we called in for a coffee which wasn't good. The staff look very unhappy, no eye contact and curt. Manager shouts excuse me as he rushes around. Not the welcome we hoped for. Toilets behind not the best but they could be public toilets? No toilet paper anyway. You've got to be desperate.

We arrived at 2.30 in the afternoon and ordered our food. The closing time on the door was given as 3.30. However as we sat down a man began putting the unoccupied chairs on the tables and rushing around clearing the cafe. We felt pressurised into rushing our food and generally felt unwelcome. he was aggresive and seemed to regard us as an annoyance rather than a customer..

On travelling from Taunton to Bideford via Tiverton and in the need of refreshment a welcoming sign of the Log Cabin Diner beside a toilet was well greeted. The staff and cosiness with a selection of food was like an oasis in the desert. A very welcome hot drink and toasted teacake were lovely. Definitely will call again.

Found by accident. Access was a bit weird, a few access point. The cabin was clean and well layout. We ordered burgers. They were delivered promptly, well presented and tasty.

Stumbled on this gem en route to Devon/Cornwall coast . Ideal rest and refreshment stop with indoor and outdoor eating. something for all on menu at very reasonable prices and space to walk the dog if required, service with a smile and much better than motorway services, and just yards of A361.

In reply to managers post, I was a customer at the time of incident and yes the young man was over the top but I have never been anywhere where the staff (manager) throw items over customers heads. The managers was very impolite and quite frankly sexist. I live nearby but will certainly NOT be visiting again.

I stopped calling at this REALLY unfriendly cafe about a year ago and told myself I would never hand over my hard earned money to the miserable, unhelpful and surly staff EVER again. Unfortunately I had a memory lapse and stopped by for a snack. The staff did not disappoint and I was soon reminded why I never go there anymore.

A lovely little place. Easy to find, loads of space and toilets are very clean. Brilliant cup of tea!

We’d much rather give our £££ to an independent business than a national chain so this pit-stop ticked all the boxes for us. We found it on Trip Advisor and it didn’t disappoint.

We stopped here for breakfast on our way to Welcombe recently. It does get very busy so sometimes a bit of a long wait for food but it's worth it. I had a bacon and egg sandwich which was really nice and my husband had a cheeseburger which he said was very good too.

We enjoyed our light lunch at this little cafe. The waitress was very hard working and efficient and the bacon and egg baguettes were delicious - as was the burger and breakfast, all very reasonably priced. There was a man working hard with a coat on, whizzing in and out with boxes etc. we think he was staff, he jumped behind the till at one point. I would suggest he put on an apron or a work shirt with Log Cabin on his logo, just to make us all feel a bit more comfortable.

If only all "diners" on main roads were like this, offering all of the standard staples of fast food cafes plus a few extras including a couple of meals of the day at sensible prices. Plenty of room for parking and for the kids to let off steam. All of this plus a clean modern cafe with cheerful staff. We do not use this road that often but will definitely make a note that it is well worth rememberng when heading west.

We popped in here on the way home from our holiday in Devon. We ordered 4 light breakfasts and a bumper breakfast. They were really tasty, but if you're looking for something filling, the light breakfast isn't for you. It was more of a kids meal. I would have liked to see mushrooms and tomatoes as an option for that as well. All reasonably priced and great atmosphere. Facilities around the back were ok, a little smelly and no toilet roll in the ladies. Apart from that, we would visit again

The way in was badly signposted and we were greeted by a man who was attending to the rubbish bins waving his arms in an angry and aggressive manner and mouthing at us instead of just accepting we had made a mistake.

In a land where most people are actually starting to make proper coffee it’s quite disappointing to find a very mediocre machine coffee. Not the staffs fault perhaps since the machine is set to ‘disappointing’ but even so.

Popped into this lovely little cafe on our way to woolacombe. The latte here is lovely and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Just stopped off at this log cabin on way home from holiday in Appledore, ordered 1 Jumbo breakfast 1 medium breakfast and toast with marmalade, food arrived within 10 minutes piping hot and enormous portions would recommend anyone to stop off on way to holiday staff are friendly and cabin is spotlesly clean top marks 5 *****.

Needed a stop on the way to South Molton. Saw the sign and pulled in off the A38. Was pleasantly surprised to see The Log Cabin Diner and decided to stop for lunch. Friendly service and our meal was well presented but we had a bit of a wait as it was busy at the time

Stopped on the way on holiday for a bite to eat. Food looked lovely. Unfortunately as a family with a 1 year old and a little dog we were unable to sit inside. We found a table with a small amount of shade. Went to get a highchair for our son and highchairs aren't allowed outside. Never heard such a ridiculous rule in all the time of eating out with my son. We left very promptly as no way was I spending money in an establishment where you can't eat as a family. Shame as it looked lovely. But on a sunny day I don't understand why high chairs aren't allowed outside. Will not be returning.

Often stopped off at this location on the way to North Devon as it is one of so few rest areas with amenities remaining in Devon now. So many seem to have closed over the years which must be an inconvenience (if you’ll pardon the pun) for the long distance drivers whether it be by car or truck. Only once, many years ago now did I stop off to get a drink at a previous incarnation of this facility. On subsequent visits, I was clearly missing an unknown treat.

After a very long drive this place is a great Oasis offering a wide range of drinks and very tasty food.

He dejado más de un par de veces en la manera de ver familiares en zona de Bideford. Zona de picnic agradable, sirve aperitivos y comidas, etc. Ubicación mucho mejor que una zona de servicio de la autopista

Parado en esta preciosa cabaña poco tronco. El personal es servicial y siempre sonriente. La comida no hay nada mejor! Gran sabor y precio. Sin duda recomendaría a mis amigos y familia.

Este no es cocina haut, que no tiene las últimas muebles de diseño o (afortunadamente) urbanitas sirve de avena de diseño, pero no pasado en coche si estás hambriento. Está limpio y ordenado, luminoso y bien ventilado, y el personal es dulce y tolerante, de incompetentes. Y la comida, aunque basándose en simples, es muy buena, tanto en calidad y precio.

A veces nos levantamos un domingo y tome el corto en coche por la carretera de enlace sólo para uno de los grandes desayunos y por Dios que son enormes, pero muy sabroso! !

Good place to stop to break up the journey and avoid the generic service stations of the motorway. Unfortunately we stopped here on our way home as well as on our way to North Devon, only to find it all shut up. This was 2.00 on Sunday afternoon. Was very disappointed and think this place is missing a trick.

We were in need of a good value fry up breakfast. Two adults and three children needing a good start to the day!!! We came across the Log Cabin and knew we had struck gold. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. We all had breakfast, except my daughter who had chips, well we were on holiday!!! The food was tasty, good quality and everything was very clean. We were all fed and watered for just under £30. I wished we lived nearer as it would become a firm favourite.

I must say I'm a breakfast freak, always stop here when I'm passing, so clean so fresh so tasty, the staff are so nice , lovely log cabin style, this is by far better than a service station, sit inside or out, loads of parking space , toilets . We found this little gem in December on our way to Bideford and stopped here again last week. We couldn't eat inside as we had dogs but the food's very nice and reasonably priced. While I waited for my cheeseburgers (which were good) I looked around and the breakfasts looked very nice - shame we couldn't have those! The atmosphere inside's good, the decor's good and the staff are friendly - what's more, it was packed!

We called in for breakfast, which was reasonably priced and plentiful.They were quite busy with a constant footfall. The food was cooked perfectly and my wife remarked that she'd go out of her way to eat here again. Sadly we were only passing through but will watch out for it next time we're in Devon.
