Not sure if they've changed their chef, the food has always been very good, not this time, it was awful, such a shame but will not be returning.

Christmas Day Dinner (£80pp), the overall experience was slightly lacking. I would really like to give an extra half star (3 1\2 out of 5) While the main meal itself was of excellent taste, I'm afraid that it was cold only to be warmed by the additional gravy. The service seemed slightly 'stretched' as our wait between courses was slightly long. But saying that, the staff were jolly, helpful and polite. The restaurant was pleasant but was cold with a draft from the main door. Saying all of this. I would, and probably will, try another meal, maybe in the summer, at this venue.

We booked a birthday family meal for 9 people in advance. When we arrived there was a large function in their main hall and the restaurant was set with small tables and then an area for us and another large party of around 20. We ordered drinks and these and our starters came quite quickly. After a further hour however we still hadn't had our food and the children in our party were getting hungry. We asked the waitress and she went into the kitchen to enquire. We were offered free drinks /desserts as compensation. After another brief wait the children's food came out. Another ten minutes or so later ours came out. The food itself was good and we all enjoyed it. There appeared to us to be tension between the waiting staff and the chefs. Overall we had a positive experience and the waiting staff handled the situation well. However we know that the chefs were not happy as they had a large function and large restaurant bookings which they clearly did not have the capacity to cope with. Management must surely take a look at their organisation as if they cannot cope with restaurant bookings at the same time as a large function then please do not accept bookings. Thanks to the positive actions of the waiting staff we did enjoy our evening but if you can't provide the service please don't let people book.

Amazing Sunday lunch and brilliant service. From seating to eating we were well looked after. Great value as all three courses are massive. The roast beef was soft and really tasty. The lamb was cooked to perfection. All the food was fab

Dont bother booking here unless you want cold soup only 2 of our party got a plate with roll with the soup everone else just got a soup bowl 1 was served with a long black hair in it. No main meal because after nearly 2 hours still not served and I had to sit by a bucket catching water dripping from ceiling. Children's meal no better it was our family Christmas meal completely spoilt. Paid, £160 deposit which hotel refusing to give back. 😡😡😡 only ticked 1 star because would not let me post otherwise

Do not waste your time or money going to this venue. Food was not fit to be served, stone cold, stale, waiting staff had no clue what they had or had not served. Half the dishes were not served, one of our guests had nothing to eat, drinks were not served but charged twice for. The manager does not want to know and I can’t get any response for almost a month. The owners are also not interested. Disgusting service to the people of Wales and a total embarrassment. DO NOT GO THERE! One star is too much for this place

Visited today as 2 couples with 2 toddlers, After reading the reviews I was a bit apprehensive, however, my views totally changed. The staff were friendly, welcoming & attentive & the food was fab. I would recommend & definitely return

Steak and ale pie was the worst pie i,v had in my life ,3 people had it ,all left it,one piece of meat if that ,just dish water ,carrot ,barley ,uncooked puff on top,afters apple pie,3 mm pastry 5mm apple ,cheap carton custard,none of us will be going back ,all other times been lovely but keep changing chef menu gone up food gone down

Went for Sunday lunch myself and husband, overall really enjoyed, my husband’s Sunday lunch looked beautiful and he said it was, the only disappointment was the lamb could of been a little more tender as it stated it was slow cooked. I’m a vegetarian so was hoping for a Sunday lunch with a meat substitute of some kind such nut roast, the only option was gnocchi, it was very nice but not for Sunday lunch. The staff were lovely and attentive and polite. The only other complaint I would have is when the empty bottles are thrown in with the others and it makes a very loud smashing noise especially for those sat on the table closest to the bar. In saying this I would go again but maybe not for Sunday lunch until there is a better vegetarian options.

We went to the heritage park for a 30th birthday yesterday. Firstly I’d like to point out the staff were amazing! We were served the plate on the right, but the adverts were for the picture on the left. I think we can all agree it’s false advertising at its best. We couldn’t eat the scones as they fell to bits and we ended up asking for money off the bill and going somewhere else for food. Absolutely awful!

Came here for a birthday, which they were aware of as we rang up prior and received the worst service. We were left sat for 30 minutes with no waiter in sight or given any menus, despite us being the only people in the restaurant. It was then a set menu which was overly priced and not a large option with only 4 starts, mains and desserts to choose from. The mains did not come with sides and were very small portions considering they were £16 a main. Would not return again and am really disappointed when this visit cost £180, and they made no effort to make the birthday special and overpriced bland food.

14 of us celebrated a birthday with Sunday lunch it was also Father’s Day. The food was tasty and plentiful. The staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient. We all enjoyed and will return.

We booked a table for lunch my mum's birthday to treat her what a mistake this restaurant was. We ordered halloumi fries and the calamari for starters the fries were completely overcooked to the point they snapped and there was 3 of them with a garnish of wilted rocket and the calamari came without any alioli and only 4 rings so small they were unbelievable and so chewy you could have stretched them to the moon and back needless to say we sent them back and didn't bother reordering. My mum ordered the fish finger sandwich allegedly served with tartar sauce and on a bed of baby gem lettuce. This turned up with no lettuce or tartar sauce served on the cheapest white bread toasted on one side the fish fingers overcooked and grey needless to say we didn't pay for that either. All in all a terrible meal the waitress was very apologetic but this is not a place I would ever recommend or return to

Adjacent to the hotel,I haven’t been here for 3 years and I remember being quite impressed with the gluten free section they had in the buffet ,gluten free toast and everything.still 3 years later the gluten free section is impressive and there is a bar adjacent on site,the waitress who greeted us and took the order was great and she was the same one we had before and she is still great !!!we had a few other servers.the breakfast was great however this is in the incorrect location on the maps it’s adjacent to the hotel down the road not the mines.but I wish I could do this everey Monday morning to be honest but it does get very busy even at 7am on a Monday morning

We dined at the loft on Valentine’s Day. What an absolute disaster, we booked a table for 7:30 and we’re told they were running 5/10 minutes late. Half an hour later my partner asked them to which they stated that people were still dining in our seats and it won’t be long. Starters arrived 3 tiny pieces of bread for a sharing starter - totally unacceptable Main was served an hour after the starters - no steak knives, no plates and no sides! Again staff had to be approached for these items. We paid £14 extra for a starting main - was just about enough for one person. Again we waited for deserts - this was only due to us choosing a 3 course meal which we would of had to pay for anyway! And what a shambles that was, the desert was foul, didn’t even touch mine. Sobert was liquid where someone didn’t put it back in the chiller. People were complaining & staff were stood moaning infront of us about the customers that had complained. Very unprofessional, we didn’t enjoy our experience and will not be returning. £75 this meal cost and it was diabolical. Absolutely starving before we came & starving when we left. Don’t waste your money - go elsewhere.

I have dined all over the world and this was one of the worst meals I have ever experienced. To start the table was booked for 7:30 but when we arrived were told that they were running 10/15 minutes late so get a drink at the bar. Understandable and no issues until 20-25 minutes later still nothing so I had to approach staff to see what was happening. After a discussion with a staff member it was explained that people were at our table which would be ready soon. Went back to the bar area and after a few minutes we were told the table was ready. Walked to the table and it was wonky so used a napkin to steady it. After about 15 minutes waiter came Over and we ordered our three course meal. camembert For two to start. When it arrived it was very disappointing, 4 small fingers of bread and some lettuce to go with the Camembert. After about 30 seconds the bread was gone and we were left with cheese and lettuce. Absolutely not acceptable for a sharing starter. Starter was then taken away and around 30 minutes or possibly longer the main arrived Chateaubriand for two was the main. Well what can I say, steak, tomatoes and greens on one big plate was dumped on our table. We looked at each other for around 5 minutes questioning why we had paid £75 for this meal. We had no plates to use, no chips with the main and no steak knife to cut the steak. No one came over so I again had to approach staff as ask for all the things we didn’t have. Absolutely unacceptable in a restaurant. Staff brought over the items so we could actually start the main course. Once the main course was finished it was taken away and I was very Tempted to get the bill and leave but I was urged to stay by my partner and we had paid a lot of money for the meal including the desert. Desert came and was eaten as quick as possible so we could get out of the restaurant. The whole experience was just awful. There were lots of people complaining and it was clear the staff were under pressure and stressed. I always leave a tip when we dine out but it pained me to pay the bill never mind leave a tip. I am not looking for any type of compensation or anything of the sort but you need to know how bad the evening was for us. I never email restaurants normally but £75 for what we had lastnight was quite frankly Daylight robbery.

Set menu no option of sides on the menu. Did not enjoy the food like we should of due to hunger from the wait. The portions was very small so either have a snack before arriving or be prepared to call in a fish shop after on your way home.

Poor service, poor food, poor menu, disgusting toilets. I have seen better menus at a caravan park, burgers and kebabs are junk takeaway food. Never again

We booked for afternoon tea over the phone for a Sunday. When we arrived, we were told that you don't do afternoon tea on a Sunday but the staff agreed to try to sort something out for us. We were told to sit and the table was messily re-set around us. We had to ask staff for a wine list 3 times and for water twice as they placed glasses on the table with their fingers covering the rims of the glasses (extremely unhygienic). The afternoon tea came without staff asking for any dietary requirements. I am vegetarian and was served meat sandwiches. Thankfully there were no other serious requirements. The sandwiches were fine, but most of the cakes were stale. The staff weren't overly attentive and we were sat waiting around to be asked for a water top up and for the bill at the end. We sat in the garden afterwards and enjoyed sitting outside with a glass of wine which was a nicer end to the experience.

Fantastic food and the service was fabulous. Really recommend. The atmosphere was lovely too.

Visited Saturday night with friends family, excellent staff, friendly and attentive.Nice bustling atmosphere in restaurant, lovely to see after the turmoil of past 14 months.Food was lovely and we had plenty to drink.Only minor point I would say could be improved upon is the limited menu choice (totally understand it had to be reduced over the pandemic period, however now businesses are opening up again it would be nice to return to the full menus of 2020)Just two examples Lasagne and curry no longer on limited menu but are surely firm favourites of many, along with other options that are currently missing.We will return

This was the second visit in the last month. On both occasions we have sat outside making the most of the sunshine. Both food and service have been excellent. There is a busy road nearby but you soon block that out with chatting. The surrounding scenery is the beautiful Rhondda valley. The outside area could benefit with a few more table umbrellas but it’s very beautifully presented. I’d recommend the chicken kebab it was delicious.

Stunning tasty food. Ordered off their festive menu. Lovely helpful and friendly staff. Excellent value for the money.

First time to visit here, definitely won't be the last, food delicious, and felt very safe with all Covid precautions in place. Staff very helpful & pleasant, definitely recommend a visit.

Stayed here for 3 nights on a coach trip. We HAD to have breakfast at 7.30 am and dinner was at 7.30 pm. So it felt a bit like being in a holiday camp. The food was OK but would have been nicer if it was warmer and if vegetable were served.

Spent the night in the Heritage Park hotel and had our evening meal and breakfast in The Loft. Fabulous evening meal we ordered surf and turf and it was cooked exactly how we asked. We didn't have to wait long either. All members of staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also lovely and really finshed off a prefect night away.

Valentines meal ordered two steaks One was nicely cooked the other was inedible. They asked if wanted to change but the ambiance was lost so refused

Without going into "War & Peace", we won't be returning.Two years ago we had my Dad's 80th birthday meal here and everything was fine so we returned this evening for Mum's 80th.Big disappointment. Whilst the food was good the service was very slow and at 21:45 we decided to not bother with dessert and leave.The poor service was, apparently, due to extra diners arriving unexpectedly. Not my problem as we'd booked for a party of 12 over a week ago.My Mum is only going to be 80 once and this evening was a disappointment.

Went for lunch today excellent food a great place to eat . Excellent dinner menu . Will be going more often

After collecting our new puppy we needed to find somwhere to eat before our long journey back to Manchester.we were asked to eat outside which we didn't mind but the picnic benches were far from comfortable. The food was good and the staff attentive. Service was slow as the restaurant was busy.

A group of 22 of us visited on Friday 9th August for an 80th birthday celebration. Everyone was happy with their starters & main meals. Portion sizes were good & food was hot. The staff were friendly & efficient. We were given side plates & serviettes to use when the birthday cake was cut. This was the first time we have eaten in The Loft but will definitely be back & recommend to friends & family!

Another lovely carvery. Seated quickly. Lovely friendly and efficient staff. Orders taken swiftly. Gorgeous tasting meat with 3 choices and a nice range of veg and potatoes. The only little complaint was the food could be hotter. Reasonably price, would recommend.

We’ve just returned from our Fathers Day lunch at the hotel and I just wanted to pass on our thanks to the team. It was very busy but all team members did all they could and the food was lovely. If it’s allowed I would like to highlight the staff member who was working on the meat section this afternoon. He was patient, made everyone feel welcome, made an effort to speak to the children of our group and talk directly to them. He was fielding everyones questions (some of which came without a please and thank you! ‍♀️) and queries (and solving them) while we were being served and went out of his way to make everyone feel a priority. It was our first visit today and we will ensure that we visit more often. Thank you all again. Cath

Wow, This place has some bad reviews, but by god am I glad I used my own initiative and took my wife here. What a wonderful and beautiful place. The staff are amazing and nothing is to much for them. We had the Mediterranean chicken hanging kebabs. So juicy, not at all overcooked, they are stunning. For starter I had olive's and houmous with fresh bread and my wife had the tempara prawns. Could not fault a thing. The choice of wine is very impressive and very competitively priced.I would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.Feom start to finish AMAZING!!!

Recently visited the Loft Restaurant for a 70th Birthday party and the meal was a real disappointment.Whilst the main meals were tasty, the food was cold and despite returning the dishes once they returned still cold.The afters continued the disappointing experience with the Caramel Tart being hard and gave the impression that it wasn’t fully defrosted, a theme consistent for all guests.Finally, everything seemed to be an inconvenience for the servers which pretty much finished off a poor dinning experience.I appreciate that this review may be out of kilter with other customers experience and I hope that this is the case. However, based on my experiences I couldn’t recommend it.

Very very yummy, cooked fresh, delivered promptly, enjoyed with a glass of Prosecco, followed by welsh cheeseboard

Since the revamp of the hotel the choice of meals have improved. We enjoyed our meal staff were tentative but not too pushy. Found a little gem

Esta fue nuestra primera visita como habían sido ocupados restaurar, reservamos para comer el domingo, fue a probar el restaurante para una pequeña celabration más adelante este año, el almuerzo de domingo es un asador, con una opción de 3 Carnes y casi toda la verdura que puedas imaginar. Todo muy bien preparado y presentado, el restaurante es muy limpia, bonita y luminosa, y el personal es muy amable y servicial, no nos apuraron, pero el servicio era muy resbaladiza.

Pedí un filete raro, mi compañero de Tina ordenados de pollo. Mi carne estaba seca y lejos de raras y tina de pollo estaba seco y recocido. No estábamos contentos con nuestras comidas, pero me pregunto si no tuvimos suerte, porque otros comensales parecía estar contento con su comida. El servicio estaba bien, pero la camarera no podía responder preguntas en el menú, así que creo que la capacitación de la plantilla debe ser mínimo. No pienso volver.

Vine aquí para una función de Navidad en diciembre y después de pagar un caro suma, me estaba esperando un buen rato. Siempre he visitado el hotel y siempre disfrutamos. Yo estaba en el salón grande y estaba esperando una ridícula cantidad de tiempo para la comida para llegar. Cuando finalmente llegó fue frío y muy soso. Pregunté si podía hablar con el director y una señora llamada Gemma vinieron a verme que aparentemente era el director del departamento. Le dije a mi inquietud, pero parecía que ella no sabía lo que estaba haciendo y no particularmente atención a ese asunto. Cómo poco profesional! Regresé este mes para un café mientras pasa por la zona y habló con el gerente del hotel sobre mi experiencia. Me explico todo bastante, pero de nuevo el señor elder no parece cuidado y cepillado. Mientras estaba teniendo un café este mismo director fue continuamente la parrilla, el personal del bar y habla con respeto frente a ellos de los huéspedes que buscan. Tampoco es la primera vez que he visto directores habla a su personal tremendamente. Es una pena lo que este lugar se ha convertido en. Con los precios tan altos y la decoración al estar tan cansado y desgastado, que hace que te preguntes donde el dinero va exactamente! El papel no ha cambiado desde los años 90 y las alfombras son muy manchada y desgarrada. Como he dicho, una gran pena y después de años de visitas, no volveré a este desastre de un hotel. Los propietarios deberían avergonzarse! ! !

Nos casamos aquí0n el 21 de febrero de 2015 y fue increíble. Nada era demasiado problema y realmente quedábamos, muy buenos recuerdos.

Reservado para nuestra familia domingo de Pascua el almuerzo que incluía una gama de 15 meses de edad de hasta 86 años. Nuestros entrantes sirvieron directamente a nuestra mesa, consistía en el plato principal de un asador. Los aperitivos estaban bien, pero el asador fue decepcionante. Nos sirvieron 2 pequeños, lonchas finas de carne y las verduras eran solo tibio. Una nota positiva, la caza huevos de Pascua era bueno para los niños, y que cada uno recibió un huevo de Pascua y conejitos de chocolate Lindt, así que estaban contentos.

Ha sido para una comida en el restaurante Loft en el Heritage Park Hotel. La comida era excelente y el servicio maravilloso. Tuve albóndigas como aperitivo, muy sabroso. bistec de culata para las principales que era jugoso con patatas fritas que estaban perfectamente preparado. Tarta de limón como postre, precioso. Todo el mundo en nuestra mesa tuvimos una comida excelente.

Comida en un entorno muy agradable, el lugar es muy bonito por dentro, con fantásticas vistas. Tuvimos una comida agradable y el personal es bastante agradable. Nunca había pensado venir aquí por una boda pero sin duda lo recomiendo. El hotel es fantástico y tiene una bonita piscina cubierta.

Servicio de primera clase comida excelente habitación agradable y limpio, el personal nos cuidaron y no me puedo quejar servicio que recibimos. No nos enamoramos prisa o lata justo a la izquierda a disfrutar de nuestras comidas, pero no ignorados sólo tuvimos que coger el ojo y el personal que nos atendió.

no hay demasiada variedad . parece menú rara vez cambios . no gusto casero más como nuked en el microondas . una mala relación calidad-precio

Went to my brothers Wedding at this venue on Sat 22nd June,great day staff really friendly most helpful,great room food fab, decoration on the tables were lovely,really impressed how quick the meal was served and still hot we'll done to those waiting on us,the down side the ladies loos were very smelly drainage problems I think,DJ at night was very good ,anyone thinking of having their wedding at this venue I don't think you will be dissapointed.

Had Sunday Lunch here to celebrate my parents Golden wedding. I called beforehand to see whether I could drop off a cake that I had baked for the occasion, to which I was told ‘of course’. Unfortunately whilst transporting the cake, I dropped it, although minimal damage done. When it was time to bring the cake out, I was told ‘I hope you don’t mind but I asked chef to tidy it up a bit’. It was unrecognisable, covered in whipped cream that was badly piped. (this cake originally had a marshmallow frosting with little gold baubles to mark the occasion) I was fuming to say the least that they had made an assumption. Really did put a dampner on the end of the meal. When the bill came I asked if they would consider reducing the overall amount. To which I was told ‘most places would have charged you cakeage’ Never in my 40 years have I heard this term or indeed practice! Very poor response and didn’t even apologise.And so to the meal & service itself – beef was beautifully cooked, however the veg supplied was obviously frozen and overcooked. Service was sloppy. The drinks took over 15mins to arrive (wasn’t that busy as far as I could see) When they did eventually arrive, they were handed to us by holding the very top of the glasses (a bug bear of mine and less than hygienic) very disappointing to say the least and we won’t be going back

We have been going to hotel for 5 years on a new year but last year will be our last one and done think we will be on our own. The food was terrible the starters were so cold you could not taste anything it was like eating a ice cube then the mains half our party had duck the others cod firstly the duck 3 thin slices on top of half a potatoe and a teaspoon of jelly on top which on menu was discribed as fruit of the forest sauce (i dont think so) then the roasted vegtables 2 small pieces of carrot and 2 small pieces of parsnip not bigger then a 10p piece and that was it. the cod meal no better a small piece of cod half a potato with 2 leaves of wilted spinach on top there should of been a white wine sauce only the lucky few had that I was not one of them. the dessert was small round of cheesecake the whole meal could have fitted on a side plate and we paid £46.00 a head for that. Sorry forgot about the band described a high enegy group there ws more enegy in a bottle of pop. At least 2 tables went out and sat in the bar 2 of our party went at 11pm as they could not stand anymore. If anyone is thinking of booking here for next new year take some sandwiches and ear plugs you will probally need them. If the hotel is reading this I am not a complainer but you really need to sort yourselves out you spoilt our new years eve

Went to heritage park again for new years eve been the last 4 year age group 20-65 this was the last time it was a joke,Party of 8 of us arrived 7pm only 1 working the bar ages to get served no extra chairs been put in the bar area to sit on,We went though to the function room no problem laid out good found table no prob all seemed OK,Then waitresses arrived and started serving tables the choice of starters was only fish turine or vegetable turine i had the salmon which was a very small portion with a bit of lettuce on top wife had veg turine said it was OK both were very cold obviously just come out of the fridge ok but not that good i would like to point out this was a 50.00 quid a person event and you had to pre order meals,Next came the main course if that's what its called again only choice was duck or fish i stuck with the fish it was 1 little piece of cod about 3 inches long and just over a inch wide by the side of it was half a potato with what could only be described as a teaspoon of spinach on the top of it that was it nothing else i couldn't believe it lucky i had a sandwich about 5 o clock,others had the duck that was as bad 4 skinny slices of duck half inc wide as thin as paper half a potato but with roasted veg if you could call a slice of carrot cooked in the oven roast veg ,Absolutely disgusting so far the meal must have cost about 3 quid a head,next came desert well Ive had better at a Tesco garage the size of a jaffa cake that was it crap ,and if you wanted cheese and biscuits you had to say because you had one ore the other desert or the cheese and biscuit you couldn't have both cost for the lot 4 quid a head ime seriose it was tht bad i wouldnt have wasted this morning otherwise writinh this i know the electric been cut off but this is taking the mick,The band came on they were terrible i was glad when 12 clock came it was nearly time to go home and have some supper we were all hungry NEVER AGAIN
