Had the Mediterranean Breakfast; it is fantastic! Fresh, flavorful, and so satisfying. A perfect way to start the day in a cozy café with great service!

No other way to start off the day than with a nice breakfast and coffee in this lovely shop. Very clean with amazing staff!! Highly recommended!

Came here this morning and left very happy and well-fed. The food is reasonable priced, presented well, and was fairly quick in being sent to our table. There is a good selection of wholesome, good, unpretentious food. Will definitely eat here again. The only thing is that it could do with some heaters, it was definitely cold in there.

Lovely food,great staff. Was a little disappointed when the food arrived to see that the full English breakfast now has one egg instead of two and one sausage instead of two. Also the toast has changed from thick tiger bread to normal sliced.Saw on the menu that the price had increased a little which I totally understand but maybe should mention portion size has decreased. To upgrade to the previous version of the full English by adding an extra egg and sausage would be an additional £2.40 per person.

My wife and I stopped in here on Saturday morning as we where having our car serviced at a local garage I had the full English which includes toast and a coffee My wife had a "5" breakfast and wanted here eggs "soft set " It all came out in good time and perfect Good staff hot food and nice surroundings Highly recommend

Service was great and people were friendly but I had the worst takeaway mocha I’ve ever had. Took one sip and had to pour it away. Very disappointed after hearing such great things about the food and drinks here.

We had breakfast here today the bacon was a letdown thin and mostly fatty the bubble and squeak Was spicy not what one should expect.Other than that the cafe is clean and the rest of the breakfast was fine.

Great! Understand the vegan palette. Had a great breakfast a couple of weeks ago and lunch more recently. Had the Egyptian toasted hummus wrap which had the lightest fluffy falafel. Proper crispy french fries as well. The breakfast has 3 hash browns - which when you eat breakfast out, you want!! So good. In the summer, so nice to sit outside :). The falafels could be a dish by themselves and also part of the vegan breakfast. So delicious and authentic. Keep up the good food! So friendly as well.

The quality of the breakfast was poor

Very nice food and excellent portion sizes! However the cup of tea for £2.20 is not good, it’s served in a teeny cup (that usually comes with a pot of tea). So I don’t order a cup of tea anymore as I’m not paying that for a tiny cup, once the teabag comes out there’s about 1 mouthful left. Other than that, all is great and pleasant staff :)

Popped in for breakfast. The staff and food were excellent. Very reasonable price and a large choice. Look forward to going again.

I have always said Shefford needed a proper cafe (open 7 days a week, lots of options) and this is exactly what we needed. Food is delicious, the best of its kind in the area. I wouldn’t be surprised if people in the surrounding towns and villages travelled here for a lovely brekkie or lunch. Personally, we have had the English breakfast (massive portion), the healthy breakfast (smoked salmon, feta, poached eggs etc) and my new favourite which is the Mediterranean breakfast. All breakfast items include a tea/coffee and toast/bread. We have also tried the quarter pounder and the panini, both were lovely. Very clean place now under the new management and the decor is much nicer. Finally, the staff are all really friendly, quick and welcoming. A special shoutout to Hazel the owner. Portions are VERY generous and prices are reasonable. My family and I love this place now and they have a regular customer.

We have always loved The Loft and regularly ate there after our Wednesday Walk. We went this week but it's changed hands and the menu is very different. I can't fault the service we got from the new regime but the new menu is not to my taste. If your looking for big portions, all day breakfast and chips this is the place for you. I'm looking for good coffee, home made cakes, interesting sandwich fillings in good quality bread and this it doesn't have any more. For me it's a shame but I've read reviews from people who love the new menu - you can't please everyone!!!

What a fantastic little place this is. The food was gorgeous with very generous portion sizes. Think they have upstairs seating but we stayed outside in the sunshine. We will be back again very soon. Thank you all for the delicious eggs benedict. 😋

Sat for 35mins waiting for food! No glasses served with our drinks. They then gave our order to someone else! So got up and walked away as no offer was made to apologise or to make it up to us, we refused to pay for the drinks. Wouldnt recommend them or return to eat there, will tell friends to avoid. Cant leave Zero stars so has to be One star.

I took my Mum here whilst we were walking around Shefford. A lovely sunny day for a change, so we sat outside to soak it all in. We ordered two Cappuccinos, a 1/2 pounder burger & fries for me, a bacon type sandwich for my Mum. The food was really very good and hot, prices were very reasonable and the service was excellent, especially the Polish lady who made sure we had everything we needed. Their menu is pretty extensive too and caters for all tastes. I was surprised at the choice and will give one of their other meals a go next visit. I was really impressed with this place and will be back very soon. A new favorite. Definitely a 5** from me.

Poor service. I ordered a coffee and walked out again after it hadn't turned up after half an hour. The air was thick with the smell of oil so I also smell like a fry up. Avoid.

I always liked the loft. But ever since it’s been taken over it’s even better. The menu is far more varied and the food is brilliant. The portion sizes are more than adequate and that makes it good value for money. The owner and staff were asking for suggestions which just goes to show how much they care about improving an already nice place to eat.

Just returned from lunch here today for my daughter's birthday. We waited ages to be asked for our order. Finally we got asked for our orders and it took over 25 mins for our coffees to arrive at the table, one coffee was heavily spilt into the saucer with no apology or offer to amend this error, maybe drinks should be served on a tray. There was 3 of us for lunch we all received our food at different times each finishing before the other person had received their meal, we did express our disappointment in this and was told that the shepherd's pie takes longer to make (in this case they should have considered meal timings to ensure we all received our food at the same time). Alternatively reduce the menu options so waiting the tables is manageable, whilst waiting for our food we could tell lots of customers were becoming irritable due to poor service, timings of food etc. Both waitresses had dirty aprons/uniform, which is very unappealing to see when you are being waited on for food. To top this terrible lunch experience off we came away with our clothes smelling of cooking fats. This could be avoided if the menu choices were reduced, as too many foods being cooked at the same time creates unpleasant smells. We did let the staff know when we paid our bill, we were not rude but wanted them to take on board our feedback as this could be a nice little place for lunch but I can't imagine many people will want to return if these issues are not addressed very soon. We were offered a discount off our bill but felt our feedback was not appreciated, we will not be returning.

I went to the loft alone for breakfast this morning. After waiting over half an hour for a meal I discovered that my order had been lost. I didn't have time to wait any longer, so I was given a refund and staff were very apologetic. Not the end of the world, but obviously not ideal. This was my second visit since the refurb. The first was okay, but the experience today has really left me missing the previous owners.

The Loft to Heaven taste wise! Under new management this place is gleaming and the new chefs are concocting some amazing flavours in the kitchen! Thank you guys see again soon!!!

Came in today and the food was amazing. I was really impressed with the service and had the full English that was great. Everyone was happy and looked after us as well. Would definitely come back and highly recommend.

As soon as we walked in we were given dirty looks by members of staff and when asked by the member of staff taking my order if i wanted my drink in a glass or a takeaway cup, i asked for a glass and another member of staff stated, "no, give her a cup". Once sat down, it took nearly 15 minutes for my friend to recieve her drink. Me and one friend brushed our hair as it was very windy outside, and the member off staff picked us up on it and said "dont brush your hair in here, it will get the table dirty." followed by a dirty look. The whole experience in the loft has changed under new and quite frankly rude management! It isnt the same customer friendly and cosy cafe i loved, will never be going here again!

Under new ownership and has reopened in the last couple of weeks after being closed for refurbishment. The face lift is lovely and it’s now a more traditional British cafe with a Turkish twist. The fry ups are fantastic, they also do a great selection of wraps, paninis and other cafe food. Very good coffee too. Has the bonus of being open on a Sunday which is very handy in Shefford.

I came here for breakfast on a weekday. The service was a little slow considering there were very few customers in attendance. The menu was quite limited but the tea was nice and hot and I had the breakfast wrap which was tasty but disappointingly had cold grated cheese in, I would’ve thought it would be heated up so that the cheese was cv melted. The atmosphere was good but the music was a little loud for a morning. I imagine it is better suited to evening cocktails.

We ordered a jacket potato and 3 sandwiches for takeaway the jacket potato was under cooked and was not edible and they over charged for one of the sandwiches when I questioned the staff member was very rude. When I rang up they said I would get. Free one next time but after this experience I will Not be going back their

We are moving to Shefford this month and went to view the property before exchanging. My daughter and I went into the Loft to grab some lunch. They are a friendly bunch, and the food is delicious, we sat outside and watched the world go by. Go grab something to eat or drink and enjoy the sunshine. We will be back when we move.

Great local cafe - recommend the milkshakes

I would recommend nice food, good cuppa and friendly staff. Not to expensive either. The only fault was the tables needed a wipe and as we stood outside deciding to go in or not nobody was at said table for at least 5 minutes, but glad we went in will return.

No food. I went there on a normal weekday and the waiting time was about 40min. Unacceptable.

I love coming here to eat & drink as the food is lovely and atmosphere is always nice. However on this particular occasion, I ordered food and drinks for myself and Daughter, only for it to be served to us in a takeaway bag even though I had booked a table. Was quite embarrassing sitting there eating out of Brown Paper wrapping whilst others were eating off lovely White Ceramic plates. To be fair, the lovely lady who served us did ask if we wanted it to be put on plates but we declined as the damage was already done. I asked for a discount which was blatantly refused so it kinda left a bad taste and my daughter was not a very happy little girl which kinda upset me. Would I return? Most definitely but will ensure our food served correctly.

This spot in Shefford is the most amazing place to gather with friends and family or even on your own. Whether you are after the all day breakfast, lunch or evening tapas the food is delicious and service amazing. The laughter, banter and community spirit for locals and newbies alike is great

We had a 50 minute wait for our breakfast (1 x full breakfast and 1 x smashed avocado and poached egg on toast). When they finally arrived after we chased our order, the full English was missing baked beans and there were e rock solid hash browns about the size of a 50p (no exaggeration). The 'smashed avocado which cost 1.50 extra consisted of half a small avocado on the side, whole. When we asked about this, we were told 'the avocado is too hard so the chef can't smash it'...! We had no apology for the long wait, and got a rude response when pointing out the avocado/beans. Such a shame! Overpriced and unfriendly.

Nice little cafe with a nice menu. One of the waitresses didn't smile once the whole time which was a little sad. The food was a good price and very nice. I would definitely come back again. Toliets could do with a good clean.

I use this place every week and noticed a couple of bad reviews so wanted to give my view as a long term customer. I have been using this place for 5 years and love it. I did find the service was getting a bit slow, I mentioned it to Wendy and was so gracious and more importantly took steps to improve things. I cannot recommend the place highly enough. If you need a very quick meal, go elsewhere. If you want quality, this is the best in Shefford and surround,

I have always found this place friendly and the staff amazing tonight very disappointed, staff made me very unwelcome quite rude. We had to keep leaving the table to ask for drinks when I found staff eating food on the front desk and having a banter

We love The Loft! Have visited lots since we moved to Shefford for coffee and tapas. My favourite dish ever are the tiger prawns which I 100% recommend. They also gave a free cocktail for my birthday which is a lovely gesture. My Dad always asks to visit for tapas when he is visiting, lovely to sit outside in the summer aswell.

Arrived 15 minutes late for our booking due to parking but staff didn't make a fuss, seated us and just asked to order quickly to ensure the kitchen didn't get backed up. Seated on the sofa upstairs which was a bit low for comfortable dining, more suited to snacks and drinks. Overall the tables and chairs set up was a little tight. Tapas was great, good selection. This place is great for casual dining and sharing cocktails.

I had seen The Loft on Insta and thought it looked lovely, so suggested to a friend we met there for coffee and cake. When I walked in, I thought I’d arrived at the wrong place. The decor was tired and the place in general was not very clean. The muffins we ordered tasted stale. So disappointing.

Nice tapas, wine is decent, cocktails a bit sweet but that’s just personal preference. Calamari used to be fresh now it appears frozen (uniform rings like you would buy frozen from a supermarket). Friendly, quick service. Really good chicken, mushrooms, quesadilla.

Came in here to try out a breakfast as I usually go the the cafe next door (duck lane cafe) I thought I'd try here and get to know the two. What an awful experience, walked in, was told to take a menu and go and find a table so I did, I sat down and I was asked what I'd like I asked for a breakfast but would like to change the eggs to scrambled (I'm pregnant and I can't stomach fried or poached at the moment) the waitress said " I'll ask the kitchen but that's not something we usually do" she clearly couldn't be bothered to go and ask at all😂 I know scrambled has been served here before as my partner had it on toast once! very strange and I'll never go in here again I'll stick to the beautiful little cafe behind (roses at duck lane) I'd consider some front of house training for this lady. I've worked in silver service for over 7 years and the way she held herself was unprofessional.

Received friendly greeting when visited for family get together for lunch. Most chose Breakfast which was well presented with rustic brown or white toasted bread, poached eggs, bacon, sausages, beans, hash browns, all delicious & hot. Unusually, in place of a cup of tea, some members shared a glass of potent red wine, given it was a xmas get together 😉 which went rather well. Some members carrying "precious cargo" stuck to a cup of tea 😊. Only small issue but ultimately important, one member was served crockery with lipstick from a previous customer. It was wiped using a sterile wipe & was raised with the assistant, who apologised & offered to change item. Several wines requested were out of stock, hardly surprising given this was just after xmas & we were offered a good substitute. Venue had a tempting selection of naughty cakes/puds; chose coffee & walnut cake, which didn't disappoint as was moist & made well, however cake did not include any walnuts - a walnut or 2 to decorate top of cake or chopped walnuts within the sponge was certainly missed. Had a pleasant time here so thank you to all staff who served us well.

First time I've ever been there, the service was good, prices were cheaper than a lot of coffee shops I've been to, if you want to eat there, it's best book a table as it seems very popular, if I'm in Shefford again I will make a return visit ☕🍰

Not for me. First time here for me & we sat upstairs. It was cramped, busy & incredibly smokey. The smell of the food travelled upstairs, so much so, that I had to shower and change all my clothes when returning home. Stinging eyes from the smoke did not help my experience. The food was ok although when I ordered toast, I expected a decent size slice. What I received was basically half a slice, cut into two. One additional point; the toilet bowls were filthy. Absolutely horrific. I had one look & left very quickly. That needs to be kept on top of. Sorry, but I won't be returning.

A nice little coffee shop with a small selection of cakes though on the day of visit there were no vegan food I could see. It's not very accessible so not suitable for people who need easy access.nice feel to it. though and parking close by outside or you could park in the local supermarket and do a 3 minutes walk.

Appalling service. Both finished our pot of tea each and still waited 25mins for a heavily 'raw red onion' tuna sandwich and a very heavily cinnamon toast that was hard and stone cold. Neither of us finished our food. Complained to the 3 waitresses who were not interested and had no excuse for the appalling service and no apology. Certainly will never return
