It's cheap, so for the price it's okay-ish, coffee I got was in a dirty glass and tomatoes were 2 spoons from a can of chopped tomatoes

was staying at the travel lodge. noticed the cafe. Ordered a breakfast and paid for it. 40mins later, still no breakfast. customers ordering by phone, seemed to get theirs delivered. customers came in after me and were served and got theirs. i raised question what about me?and they had not even started cooking it. i paid for it, but didnt' get it, walked out in end as 40 mins i ran out of time. wouldnt go here again. customers there in person, shouldn't be side steped for those ordeing online or coming in after. dead end. fail.! i will complain to my bank as they are charging but not providing. taken money, but cheating customers

Tasted ok. Took a while to come out and toast seperately delayed. Lacking tomatoes. Just seemed to be tom juice. Chipped plate. Overall it was an OK brekky though. Family run. Seem friendly. Only one piece of toast. Medium brekky 5 pound.

We popped in to get some of the extremely good value packed lunches to take to the Commonwealth games. We were two vegans and two veggies and the team could not have been more helpful in going out of their way to provide something suitable (including some tasty veggie sausage sandwiches). Thank you!

They were super busy, but in a good way. The way when they can actually handle it because their busyness comes from being awesome at breakfasts, and not simply being cheap but incompetent.

Lovely sandwiches, always hot and fresh

Had a great breakfast the first time, went back a couple of more times and the breakfast was terrible...food came within 5 minutes of order, obviously pre cooked cheap sausages that were deep fried to heat up. Got scrambled eggs on toast second time...terrible. spot the bit of dried scramble bit of egg on two large pieces of bread. No care at all as the staff too busy chatting. Really disappointed as this could be a real little gem but turning into a cheap turn around roadside out stop!

Great cafe,, a usually go elsewhere for my breakfast and sandwiches,, I'm local ish and this place is going to be my new go to cafe,, lovely quality breakfast, great staff, nice environment and very clean,, definitely highly recommended 👍🏽👌🏽🙂

Popped in for a quick sandwich before work and paid with my iPhone (Apple pay) within 2 minutes I was asked to pay again as the transaction didn’t go through (apparently) I’ve just checked my bank statement and I have paid twice. Maybe it was an honest mistake maybe it wasn’t ? The vendor did say his machine had been playing up, so I guess I wasn’t the only one that day to have an expensive meal. Only problem is how do I prove I only had one sandwich and not two of the same ?

Found out today that Lodge Cafe was open today and o help serve workers and residents of the Perry Barr area to take away food. I had an amazing chicken burger and chips (sorry no photo) . The amount of chips I had was just the right amount for me. Thank you to Suzie and the staff for serving the community.

Excellent service & food. The cafe was full & everyone was in good spirits enjoying their food. The staff were welcoming - great with my 2 year old son, and the cafe was spotless definitely our new spot to eat

Visited many times usually before traveling to football matches, great quality large breakfast and very filling for £5 what more could you ask for. Staff have always been friendly and breakfast always comes out hot. Just what you need for the start of a busy day.

I go here quite often now because the food has improved so much. On this visit I had the grilled steak and mushroom sandwich with horseradish mayo, chips and coleslaw. I thought it would be a small sandwich but boy I was wrong it was huge and on toasted bread. The sandwich was so filling and the portion chips which were homemade and not frozen was just right. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming.

Being a wheelchair user some times cafes are a no go. But the lodge is so welcoming and helpful , I will be back soon The breakfast for a fiver was good value plus great taste too. The young lady in the docks and baseball cap. Is that helpful nothing was too much trouble. Oh and you get a free top up of coffee or tea. To sum up great food good value and a angel looking after you look no further than the lodge.

I have been going here for a couple of years now and can’t believe the change in the last couple of months. Everything comes piping hot, not warm. The quality of the food is amazing and the variety is good. Value for money meals and all served by lovely staff

Arrive early at the adjoined Travelodge so decided to have a meal. I settled for a full breakfast, 2 of everything. Freshly cooked, and well served with speedy service. An excellent choice!

Lamentablemente uno de los desayunos más sin sabor que he tenido. Tocino y huevos eran geniales, pero todo lo demás en el lugar era barato y soso. La salchicha era horrible, barata y hecha de quién sabe qué. El pudín negro fue cortado tan fino, que era más como un crujiente.Era 5 para un gran desayuno que incluía 2 pan y mantequilla. Pedí tostadas y me cobraron 20 extra. La primera vez que me cobran extra por tostadas con un desayuno.En general muy decepcionado.No volveré

I come to this cafe quite regular. Their food is cooked beautifully, the staff & their service are always pleasant. The atmosphere within the cafe is at its utmost when Karen is serving, she is always joking & smiling; making everyone feel at ease. Overall, it’s definitely a cafe to visit as its also very affordable

Very handy for hotel guests at attached Travelodge. I was the only diner whilst there as they opened at 7, I received a warm welcome. Small breakfast, nicely cooked, superb value. Would revisit in a flash 👍🏽

Well what can I say value for money large breakfast £5 included tea or coffee. Lady in red t shirt greeted me with a nice smile and a good morning and she was very pleasant will go back again when I'm in Birmingham on business

After staying in the travelodge next door we decided to go here for our breakie. We didn't over indulge as we were going for Sunday lunch at my partners parents, there was so much variety to choose from on what size of breakfast to breakfast baguettes and sandwiches but we just had egg and bacon baguettes omg they were beautiful, we shall be going there again in a couple of weeks as we shall be visiting friends so we shall indulge in a big breakie

Visitors this cafe whilst staying at the travelodge. Absolute gem, breakfast was delicious and a fab price too.

Not only does The Lodge Cafe offer amazing food but the atmosphere created by the staff is amazing. Not many places make families so welcoming with young children. The Lodge Cafe however make it a very pleasant visit and have now made this trip a weekly ordeal. My favourite place to go and comes highly recommended.

Visited Birmingham to see relatives with myself and my two children, we stayed in the travel lodge which is situated above the cafe. Staff members very helpful as wasn't familiar with the area and brilliant with the children as my eldest wasn't very well and my youngest was getting restless so helped occupy him whilst I sorted the eldest. Don't agree at all with below review as I feel this is friendly service and would definitely come here again on the next visit to Birmingham.

Ideal location for adjoining Travel Lodge. Traditional freshly cooked breakfast with mugs of tea and coffee at a great price. Can recommend for a great start to the day.

Me and my boyfriend went to this cafe as we stayed in the Travelodge next door. After reading the reviews before going we was a bit worried however what people have said above is so wrong!!! The people are extremely nice and the breakfast was lovely!!!! We both had large breakfast and it was only £5.00 which includes a hot drink too!!! We absolutely loved it here and the cafe is in great standards! Definitely will be returning next time we come to visit family!!! It was definitely worth going. I recommend to anyone!!

Be warned, this is NOT a family friendly cafe, it seems that children must sit still, be silent, and not need changing! despite the provision of high chairs, there are no baby change facilities, with the manageress preferring that you use your car (god forbid you haven't walked there, or have a back seat full of car seats) or use the floor of the tiniest toilet in the world with no room to swing a cat, and questionable sanitation.

This is my third visit here, but don't think I'll be returning. The customer service has been quite good up until today, it felt as tho someone had passed away and no one wanted to be there, also felt very unpleasant.

First time visit over the weekend

Second time we've visited this cafe. Situated under the travelodge it makes the perfect stop for breakfast. Service was quick and friendly. I had take away but would have had no issue eating in very clean tidy almost American diner looking.

Our friend was staying at the travelodge do we met here for breakfast. So very reasonable with a great selection for breakfast. We had a few extras and it certainly did the trick!

Cheap and cheerful fry-ups. Next to Travelodge Perry Barr. Open every day from breakfast until early afternoon.

Attached to the Travelodge, this is really handy for breakfast, a good menu choice, you cannot go wrong with a large fry-up for a fiver.

Staying in the Travelodge above and so pleased to have this café underneath. Clean, excellent value and our veggie breakfast and coffee was just £3 ( two eggs, beans, toms., beans, hash brown and two rounds of soft white bread - coffee not the best but considering the price ok). So popular that some people had to wait a short while for a table. Workmen and people from the local business also use it.

Visited for a coffee but was questioned if I was going to order anything else. The lady manager said I couldn't stay there with just a coffee. I offered to buy one but the lady who was in charge was appallingly ride and telling me off for having my own snack, for which I apologised for. However, the 'manager/owner' stayed I couldn't sit there after ordering just a coffee.

Called in for breakfast and was delighted at the quality of the food and staff.The service was very friendly and the quality of the food was excellent and all in a very clean environment.

I went here for a full English. Food was amazing. Service was quick and efficient. Would recommend to any looking for a cheeky breakfast.

Ate here twice in the space of 24 hours, the saturday was very efficient, eventhough they ran out of food and had to close the owner was lovely, very talkative and made a genuine effort. The Sunday was quite slow service, very inefficient, staff forgetting to bring drinks and just overall not the same, noticed also the manager from the saturday was not on the sunday.

Situated at the ground floor of the Travelodge at Perry Barr, this café offered a very reasonable breakfast cooked to order. I would highly recommend this for families. 5 adults and 1 child had various full breakfasts with tea/coffee for less than £20. Food was cheaper and much superior to that from a well-known long established American owned chain of cafe's that you find on many motorways and trunk roads.
