This could be a nice wee cafe but service was bad and there was hair in my food. I was also given normal bread when I asked for gluten free. This has made me very ill. We would not return because of this! Hair in food and so we got a free orange juice.. not really good enough.

Visited today as dad had mentioned that he wanted to go. Lovely little place with very friendly staff. Wanted a tuna and cheese pannini but wasn't sure about the lemon mayo. Member of staff suggested a cheese ham and chutney one... omg what a good decision. Would highly Recommend!!

Amazing coffee and frills I'm a regular here - and v fussy about my coffee - this is the best takeaway coffee on high street - and great value! The other morning had a bacon & egg doubler with coffee - brilliant (Having read some other moaners reviews - find them unjust - ill stick with majority that lovectgis wee gem of a place) 😁

First time we have visited for a lunch.we had BLT sandwiches,which were nice I would recommend the fruit scones with jam and a pot of cream,my husband had them and said they were lovely.staff pleasant and nice.

Jennifer is a gem, there are a wide selection of cakes and sandwiches which are great. Such a lovely little cafe with equally lovely staff - will definitely be back!

I visited here several times during the first half of 2020, and in actual fact have been a customer of this establishment for years. I also used to frequent it when it was under previous ownership, so the term 'loyal customer' is fairly apt here. To begin with, I will give credit where credit is due. The food is very nice. I ordered a hummus and sundried tomato sandwich, which was very good. The coffee served in here is also excellent, and I have ordered a variety of cakes too, both during 2020 and in the years 2018 and 2019 all of which were delicious. The cafe itself is fairly pleasant to sit in and the staff were, at least until my most recent visit, never anything more than polite. I say all of the above to give a fair and balanced perspective. Now for my most recent visit. I visited here 5th August 2020 and no sooner had I sat down than I was approached by a waitress who immediately asked me to supply her with a name and phone number for the government's 'track and trace' policy. If you quickly google this you will realise that track and trace is unlawful, and therefore, not enforceable. I explained to the waitress I would not be opting in, and she grinned with disbelief. After speaking to her manager I was asked to leave. I felt shamed and judged and conveyed to them that I found the overall scenario comparable to a certain fascist regime which may or may not have taken place in the 1930's and 40's in a particular country. I was passively aggressively told "that's your opinion". I also conveyed the perspective that sometimes people need to make tough choices and stand up for what is right, rather than what is easy. I did what I knew to be right, because track and trace is not common law, or ever, as far as I am aware, legal statute. I was told by the staff that supplying my name and phone number was harmless. I disagree. It reeks of 'nanny state' and is an invasion of privacy. I don't believe it is about people's health and safety. I believe many people are choosing to live in fear and I will not comply. I felt sad and tearful as I left, but am 100% certain I did what was right. My perspective was invalidated by the people who worked here, they did not listen, and they did not care, because people like me are in a minority. It is kind of self-explanatory from this review, but I won't return, and immediately afterwards went to a cafe which did not enforce track and trace, which kind of underlines the fact that the staff in this cafe told me a lie. However, it is their establishment, and I accept that they have a right to ask certain people to leave, even if those people have done nothing wrong.

With the current covid-19 situation and being unable to go out for a bite to eat, I saw through facebook that the lochside cafe were making afternoon teas for delivery! Was such a great idea so I ordered for myself, my family and arranged a surprise delivery for a friend. The afternoon tea came early than I had expected and the food was delicious!! Sandwiches, which were catered for special dietary needs. Gluten free for my youngest and no dairy for myself. As well as plenty of sandwiches we got a selection of cakes, two scones each, strawberry tarts, traybakes and sponge cake. Can honestly say the afternoon tea was superb and we will definitely be popping in when it's possible.

Decided to have some lunch in lochside cafe. We ordered the soup which was chicken noodle. Not the most appetising. Didn’t really enjoy it and my partner left his. We had coffee and tea with a fruit slice which was nice. The tea was loose leaf and it was like coloured water. Very disappointing. I always think the cafe would look better and feel more comfortable with two small tables removed. Do enjoy having a quick coffee here but won’t try the lunch again.

Went here for refreshments after walking around the loch. Nice selection of home baking & coffees. Staff were friendly & welcoming. There are a few tables outside if you happen to get lovely weather like we did.

Unpretentious place and we nearly walked past. They were very helpful and when I said we would share a piece of cake they brought an extra plate and fork without prompting.

Hi popped in for lunch today and it was fantastic. Staff are lovely and helpful and the food, coffee and homemade cakes were extremely tasty. All freshly prepared and nicely presented and a real step above normal cafe standard. Highly recommended!
