Sticky tables, incomplete order and destroyed sirloin steak. Staff polite and apologetic. Maybe a one off but ruined ghe evening

Great place for food/drinks, lovely staff

Went on the 9th Nov at lunchtime with 4 adults and 3 kids. First. Tables not suitable for young kids. No offer of highchair for 2 year old. Food wise. We had the chicken kebabs and pitta bread with piri sauce. The pitta bread was soggy as the sauce was put directly on it. The chicken was very fatty and some bits inedible. Safe to say that we won't be back.

Food not very good. Ordered fish and chips, fish dry and hard, chips hard in the middle..wouldn't go back 😑

Limited spaces available as we hadn't booked but a table was made available. Great service even though the restaurant was busy.

Waited 10mins before we got asked if we would like drinks,a further 15mins to recieve our drinks tea and juice our starters were after 35mins I had to ask where it was. Tables were sitting with dirty plates for 45mins before being cleared and cleaned as they were required.The waiters were just passing by the dirty tables as if they would clean themselves lol.One plus the meal was nice, just very very poor service.

Lovely place , tidy , staff friendly , food lovely very fast n prompt, even go as far to check your meals n drinks are OK occasionally, well rated worth the money .

First time coming here and it did not disappoint! Food was very good! We had breaded mushrooms as a starter with a garlic mayo. Followed by a roast dinner and a double cheeseburger meal. We enjoyed both and will definitely be back!

All of us had carvery. Not all meats available. Vegetables luke warm and dead cranefly in one of dishes. We'll not be returning.

Trainee on char grill, no experience, no quality check, All we could taste was a burnt taste. Credited mixed grill, charged full price on everything else. Ppp in my opinion. Cost cutting at its best and manager says no one else has complained but never got of his arse to check dishes.

Stayed here a couple of times while visiting family the food was NOT good the last tow night we went to a different place . For are tea We owly had breakfast and the was not good as well it was rubbish you need a better chefs

Clean hotel and pub. Very friendly staff and food was canny.

Nice little pub with a family vibe. Food was really tasty, and the toilets were spotless. Staff were lovely and seemed a little overwhelmed, it was a Sunday and the carvery was busy I'd definitely come back. It's also up there for cheap eats in Llivingston and wheelchair accessible.

Never been so dissappointed. Portions are so small 1 small chicken breast and 10 chips 12.99 really. Had to stop at the chinese on the way home for dinner . Plus no fish no steaks . Dont think i will return again.i would definitely say not value for money at all. Cant understand the good reviews at all.

Just had dinner at the restaurant on the way home i had to pick up a chinese. 1 small chicken breast and 10 chips 12.99. That wouldnt fill a kid. No fish. No meat. Very disappointed. Wont be back.

Food like cardboard, and comes extra dry, no vegan menu for kids, hasnt improved much in the 3 years since I was last persuaded to go. Tables either broken or just wonky, but they are all sticky, at least a choice, I suppose. Only the server was more pleasant this time.

2nd time visitors, food consistently nice. Hot and good value. Service nice and relaxed. Will be back. Adam

Food was lovely, staff very attentive. Loved the relaxed atmosphere, didn’t feel we had to rush off once we had finished our meal.

We had the Sunday Roast and it was awesome! Our server was Nikki and she was amazing also. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.

Stayed over in the hotel for one night. Nice clean, comfortable room with a nice bathroom and a good powerful hot shower. Only negative were the noises from other guests which wasn't the guests' fault, it's the style of the building which seems to accentuate every single little sound made, especially at night and early morning, like doors opening/closing etc - Must be made of quite hollow, cheap material. Had a Thai green curry in the evening which was sensational. Peroni and Guinness were okay but not the best. The continental breakfast was very good and the cooked full English breakfast was okay - but if I went back I'd choose the cooked Scottish breakfast instead. Staff were flawless.

Great service and the staff are excellent . Rooms are good and really can’t fault anything, Nikki front of house is so accommodating and jim behind the bar is excellent .

It's a chain pub that's unfortunately been a victim of staffing shortages for a long time. They frequently have many menu items that are unavailable. Service can be slow so I suggest using the app.

Eleni made the meal so much better with her bubbly personality!

Good food and friendly staff. Sadly there was no carvery for our Sunday lunch due to an issue the previous night with their oven, but we still enjoyed the meal we had. They also accept the Blue Light Card any day of the week which is fantastic as a lot of places don't take it at the weekends.

We were there late afternoon before the evening rush which I prefer. Our server Kyle was very attentive and smartly dressed.

Service with a smile makes such a difference. Went back tonight Friday with family 210924 served by Eleni again great service pleasant and smiling. Enjoyed our meal and evening

Visited the Chain Runner with my daughter and grandson. We had a dog friendly table and had a lovely meal. It was such a nice atmosphere and the staff were so friendly,would definitely go back. Highly recommend.

Wonderful establishment, friendly reception from Barry and as always. Accommodating, friendly and very helpful and welcoming. Food was served quickly and all meals were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Great value for money and looking forward to return soon! I really do enjoy a curry on a Wednesday!🍛 😋

Barry created a fantastic evening in the pub tonight whilst I was in visiting. I stayed in the hotel also. Very clean and comfortable. Great members of staff! They was always on hand, ready to assist me. Definitely coming back

Drinks r very nice, but a little bit expensive. The pool table is very expensive £1.50 a go. I remember when I was younger it only used to be 50p for a go anywhere

I recently visited the chain runner at Livingston to have a Birthday meal for my son’s birthday with family. There was 23 of our and Barry and his team were amazing making sure everyone had their meals and drinks, they took care of everything that we needed. They were all very professional

We stayed overnight on route to airport for a holiday. The food was excellent as was the service and friendliness of the staff. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and will be back in the near future

We go to the chain runner in livingston regularly. The staff are friendly and provide excellent service. Sean served us today. The service he provided was excellent he was friendly and attentive approaching us a few times to ask if we were enjoying the meal. When the meal was finished the plates were cleared away quickly. The food was excellent. All in all a really good experience.

I visit usually once a week, service is good and food is lovely - wasn’t great when it 1st opened a few years ago, but been fabulous for about a year now. Breakfast is superb especially!

Very bleak atmosphere and was even quiet for a Saturday. Roast was a plate of lumps of various indistinguishable meats and basic frozen veg. It may be cheap but you get what you pay for.

Friendly, helpful and obliging we are both on crutches and from arrival to departing we were well looked after, nothing was a problem . Doors held open drinks brought to the table warm food etc it was a great day

Really good good was Lovley. Chicken burger could have had a little more lettuce and things however was really nice. Only down side was no one came over to provide the bill once we had finished and we waited a while before just heading to the bar. Wasn’t a problem though. Got a 30% voucher and itWill be back
