46 thousand for a piece of meat, two lettuces and three tomatoes??? Hot juice, it took a long time, thanks for being kind, good atmosphere!

We dropped by for an early dinner and ordered the delicious sirloin and ribeye steaks. The friendly server recommended the giant chantilly meringue, which didn’t disappoint as well. We got the half instead of the full, but figured we might have been able to finish a full because it was so delicious. Loved the warm and cosy atmosphere and the friendly staff. Would definitely return if we visit Linlithgow again!

Visited this Bar on Saturday 16th November 2024 and very surprised with everything ..it was very busy, good sign and the staff very welcoming and I must say the food was so delicious, we had the lentil soup which was so very good then the Steak Pie and mash. This was one of the best meals myself and my family member can remember having recently as we eat out quite a lot all over, as we come from Edinburgh. Linlithgow is such a lovely place and to find a food place like this on speck made our day, would definitely go back next time we are there. I did ask the staff who were very good at their jobs to give compliments to the kitchen staff as we left totally satisfied. Thank you 1807

Needing a disabled toilet for the customers especially as I am disabled and had to be helped upstairs to get to to the ordinary toilet which was not condusive to my needs. Other than that food was great and so was everything else. Allison Wilson. Airdrie.

My cousins visited from Motherwell area. I’m recovered from an operation. Was a lovely atmosphere & low key. I stay in Linlithgow & they were very pleased with my choice of venue.

10/10, stopped for breakfast on the way to the boat home to NI. Service was top tier. The lovely server gave me a blanket as it was absolutely freezing outside and turned the fire up for us. Food was absolutely gorgeous. Definitely recommend to anyone 😊

Excellent staff and service. Our family used to own the pub when it was The Hole In The Wall (sold it in the 1960s I believe). 3 of my Great Uncles were born above the pub in the late 1800s. New owners have definitely taken pride in their service and menu items.

Charged £14.95 for half a pizza, so £29.90 for a whole pizza. Was told it was a flat bread pizza when it came to the table. It was £10.95 on the menu.

I had a cheese and pickle toastie. It had nearly a cm thick of pickle with a sprinkling of cheese and was barely toasted. My partner had a baked potato which looked nicely cooked but somehow was still soft outside and hard inside. The sweet potato fries were nice but at £7 you’d hope so. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is a nice space to sit in. But I’d not bother going back due to the poor quality food.

Lovely people, great food! Visited during an outlander tour and had a lovely lunch! I had a nice drink and a Ceasars salad.

Burger was completely inedible. I’ve never had worse. We were seared at a table next to a stack of filthy dishes that never moved the entire meal. Ick.

Very nice cafe / restaurant in Linlithgow High Street. Staff polite, super friendly and attentive, made good conversation and showed a genuine interest in their customers. Food for me was a solid 8.5 with the steak pie. Didn’t specify what chips and was given thin fries instead of mash. Chunky chips a personal preference and better match for steak pie but I will say it’s the first time in a while the steak pie was not just pastry on top but a full pie. Presented lovely. Tastes excellent. Partner loved the butternut soup, although didn’t find the same love for the wrap. Atmosphere very nice. Pricing in line with a tourist town but a little higher than your average but the staff and atmosphere does make the difference. Solid 8.5 / 10 Would done again.

. The beef salad was swimming in the Chinese bottle sauce The burger of beef did not taste like beef but more like a pork burger Half of the whiskies on the drink list were not available. The only positive touch was the french fries and the niceness if the waitress.

Great place to dine with lovely staff and excellent food. It was quiet around 5pm when we entered but got busy quite quickly which made it rather noisy so I'd avoid peak hours if you're sensitive to such things but overall a very pleasant experience which I would confidently recommend.

My wife and I came to 1807 after we were turned away from the four marys due to us having kids with us. We’re welcomed in by the two staff members who were extremely busy but extremely brilliant with a customer service and who looked after us and accommodated our need for two high chairs, they were rushed off their feet but still manage to speak to everybody who came to the door and stay on top of all the tasks they were juggling we then ordered chips and they were wonderful.

Went here for dinner as it had been recommended to us. It wasn't overly busy when we arrived and we got a great table by the window. The cocktail menu is impressive. Lots to chose from. Unfortunately we had a journey ahead of us so were unable to indulge. The food was standard. Nothing super fancy. We all finished our meals without complaint. Waitress was lovely. I didn't catch her name but she was very good. Would absolutely return to try those cocktails.

We stopped here to refuel on our Outlander tour. Very warm staff and great breakfast, everything very tasty and clean.

Popped in yesterday on busiest day of the year for local businesses. We were served quickly grabbed a seat drinks were in plastic glasses but, anyone who knows, we do, the 1st Tuesday after 2nd Thursday in June would understand why this happens. Pleasant staff will come back in future when a bit calmer.

We had a wonderful dinner at Eighteen07. Kirsty was so accommodating to our requests and gave us great recommendations. We were a party of six and tried a variety of food from salad to nachos to more traditional fare. I chose the chicken balmoral pie which was amazing. The peppercorn sauce and mash were perfect additions to the pie. Murray at the bar kept us plentifully supplied with water and drinks. We had an incredible experience thanks to great food and great service with an amazing staff.

We decided to have lunch at this cafebar because it was close to Linlithgow Palace. I got a cesar salad with bacon which was very good and plentiful for the price. Young and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere with a few tables outside. To be safe, we booked the day before via their website. Average price for a single dish.

Terrible I had a chicken rap with salad hard rap and no chicken looked like it had been there for days I was robed £15.25 would not go again

Went to Cafebar 1807 for dinner and for breakfast the next day after a Hen night and was great both times. Definitely recommend this place for food and drinks.

Ate here several times with my wife and son. And once also with my in-laws. The staff is friendly. There is plenty of dishes to choose from. Starting at breakfast and ending in delicious dessert. With a wide variet of drinka to complement the food. The staff is friendly and quick. There are child portions available.

Nice place but staff not very welcoming and food expensive: very mediocre burger and sausage wrap - small portions overpriced

Great great experience. Being celiac , I’m always really worried about eating out. They took incredible care of me, the food was absolutely delicious and cooked separately, which is so very important. We loved our experience ! The cocktail was amazing as well!

Have been here several times. Today the lunch was somewhat disappointing. The jacket potato was somewhat on the small size and the traybake seemed a little stale. Service taking our order was also slow. I think this place is good if you're looking for a main meal. The choice is excellent. However maybe not so good for lunch or snacks. Dark interior is not great, and some additional lighting would make a difference in some of the dark corners. Fine for a romantic evening meal maybe but not so great at other times. Staff always friendly and polite though.

Food was nice but very overpriced for this type of food. Childs portion of chips and cheese £8.65???!!! Really.

Very disappointed with food and service. My friend ordered French toast with bacon and no syrup. She said it tasted “funny”. I tasted it and it tasted very sweet - like a syrup pancake, I called the member of staff over who took the order and explained that it was very sweet, like it had syrup near it. We were told categorically - not near syrup. He asked if we wanted another and we declined, I asked for the bill as I had noticed my sausage was black - like it had been put on a burnt hot plate - I didn’t say anything - the tea wasn’t pleasant but I don’t it was the tea more like the cup had come into contact with a dirty tea towel in my opinion. The bill came and I went to pay and asked very politely to have the French toast removed as it was not as we expected, did not enjoy and returned more than half. Member of staff, Ewan, argued that there nothing wrong with it and I explained that it tasted odd and of syrup and couldn’t be eaten, he still argued that there was nothing wrong with it and he would do nothing about it “just because the customer doesn’t like it”!! He then went to the till and printed a new bill saying I’ve taken off the one slice of toast as you tasted and eaten one!!! Really??? Unreal! In my opinion I think their customer service policy is in urgent need of a review. Hospitality this most definitely is not. Certainly won’t be rushing back

A very cozy place, very friendly attention from the waitress, and the delicious American-style dishes.... it seems to be a cocktail maker in addition to making meals... interesting place.

Breakfast was good, slightly over cooked sausage was brick hard. Service was poor, wouldn’t let us swap breakfast items, never checked to see if our food was okay and wait time for food was long. Servers were quite rude, all young and just stood around chatting not working, wouldn’t go back.

It was a very nice breakfast with pleasant & prompt service.

This cafebar is fantastic for food at any time of the day or night. We have eaten there at different times over the past two years and the ethos is always excellent. Today, January 28th 2024, the place was warm and inviting. Although almost full, the Assistant Manager, Saul, made every effort to find us a table quickly. The food we ordered came fairly quickly. My partner ordered a hot meal - and it was very hot and fresh. Because of a serious food allergy, I made a request for adjustments to the meal I wanted. Saul obviously had an excellent knowledge of the difficulties allergies can cause and was very efficient at informing me of the care that would be taken in the kitchen to ensure that I could have my meal safely! I have rarely encountered this level of service underpinned with expertise. The whole experience was brilliant. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals and were pleased with the final bill!! Fantastic place to go - we’ll certainly be back!

This cafe bar can be fantastic but it depends on who is serving at the time. Some of the staff are friendly and helpful and some are not. The cocktails are also a bit hit or miss. I ordered a margarita and received half a glass, when I challenged this, I was basically told that this was how they served them. I advised that I had been in there before and had had a full size margarita and that I had had many Margaritas in a variety of other places but I was basically told I was wrong and had to accept what was being offered. Not ideal when you are paying a lot of money!!!

Called in without a reservation as we'd been let down by another local place. Even though we were a party of 6 they were happy to accommodate us. Friendly helpful service. Nice menu with good veggie options. Busy buzzy vibe. Would certainly return and happy to recommend.

Very good restaurant! I could only recommend it to you! Located next to a wonderful castle, which I also recommend!! There is a cozy atmosphere! With friendly staff! We had plaid carpet! We opted for a little brunch! There are children's menus which we really appreciated! I also had a pint of orange juice which I couldn't finish because it was so big! I'll take photos of our meals for you! Very very good value for money! One thing if you pass by there, stop! ❣

My partner and I were in Linlithgow for one night and needed a good meal after a run round the loch. We booked for 7pm Friday night, based on a local friend’s recommendation, then checked out the Trip Advisor reviews, and were slightly perturbed to see that some of them were less than complimentary! Pleased to say though that they proved to be nonsense, as we experienced great food and friendly service. A short wait to be seated, drinks served, and I had the Chicken Balmoral pie, which was plentiful and very tasty with tons of succulent chicken and haggis. The pea and spring onion mash was superb. Topped off with a splendid peppercorn sauce. Portion size was perfect, I was left satisfied and I usually eat quite a lot. Recommend this. My partner had the Stein’s Signature Burger with standard fries. The burger was terrific, it was huge, almost like a double burger in one ! It was nicely cooked, lots of garnish, and a portion of coleslaw to go with it. Ideal post run tea! It was busy, so that’s a sign that good food is served, and of course it was a Friday evening, but we were looked after well. Wish we’d had a chance to try the full Scottish breakfast, but alas we were on the early train the next day. Next time that is a must have !

The service was ok, but wasn't overly impressed with the food it was good but not inspiring. Being older the the range of beers were not to my taste and a limited selection. The live music for me was too loud.

Had a lovely lunch here with my friend before we were attending the matinee of the local amateur theatre production, so we were on a time limit. It was a Saturday and the place was busy. The staff are young but I found them friendly, they got the job done for us and we were out on time. I had the soup and sandwich combination and my friend a panini. My only complaint would be the lack of sandwich choices - a lot of cheese and …… options. I went for pulled pork which was fine on nice bread and the soup was leek and potato which was chunky. Nice place and nice atmosphere. I would go back.

We have been here a lot. It's a nice with a good atmosphere. The food is generally good. The service however is always very very slow.

Really great food, loads of choice, nice decor & great drinks list. I have a dairy allergy and the server was really helpful and really lovely, so hard to find somewhere good with allergies who don’t make you feel like a nuisance. Will definitely be back :)

Very poor staff service. We had to go to bar several times for attention. Our food order was wrong and staff were quite dismissive about this, slightly arrogant even. Although the order was corrected we were left sitting with side order only which got cold and wasn't replaced. The food was expensive and mediocre. I was very disappointed as I had chosen this venue for a long overdue catch up with a good friend. I won't be back.

Hmmm! 50 min wait for food and a-drink albeit offered tap water which appeared from under the till no cover on the bottle. Had a breakfast brunch mediocre to say the least, butter for toast was liquid and the food was nothing special, over priced, had to ask when our food would likely be ready. Staff were friendly but the food I could have got better and cheaper elsewhere. Visiting the area for the artisan food market so this was a spur of the moment visit, disappointing.

Went as a group of 7 on the Linlithgow pub trail. Manager instantly treated us negatively. Although the restaurant was busy he somehow found it impossible to serve us food as two tables of 3 and 4. Not that it matters but we were perfectly sober women of 50+staff have a terrible attitude never experienced anything like it. Certainly won't return

You know a popular spot when you've got full tables both outside and inside. This place serves superb food which isn't expensive and service is brilliant.

We came for lunch & enjoyed our meals, except, I had the salad & no coleslaw 🥲🥲. Is this a new rule, as the coleslaw is so good, I even buy some from Stein’s when I’m in Bathgate. I didn’t realise that dogs were permitted until one started to wag his tail. We were instantly moved, thank you very much & next time, I’ll ensure we are in the dog free area.

Visit Linlithgow often, just jump on train from Falkirk High Station. Did so yesterday looking for nice food and relaxed drinks. It delivered what Falkirk doesn't. We loved it. The food was a great standard, the staff were attentive and personable. What a beautiful wee place we have found. We will visit often and bring our family. Such a nice ambiance and mixed range of custom. Offers all we look for.

Had a really good visit for brunch with the family. Food was excellent as was the staff and service. There was a great variety and wee managed something for everyone including a fussy child. We would definitely go back and the only reason I dropped a star for atmosphere was dogs in the restaurant. I understand it's absolutely personal preference but definitely not for me.

Went in today for lunch. Told only tables outside free which is fine, however first table we sat at one of the chairs was snapped. Moved tables and told the staff straight away but they didn’t remove the chair from the table, was still there when we left. Took about 35 mins from ordering for our food to turn up. One dish was both overcooked and freezing cold. The other was very average for the price. I.e almost five pounds for a tiny portion of chips. They did offer a discount for the experience but still feel we paid too much for such average food. Maybe a one off, but wouldn’t come back.

we ordered simple food and it was not very busy, so why should it take 45 mins at least to make a panini, a simple tuna sandwich and some pre-heated soup?

We ate here on three occasions and the food was good, especially the steak pies! Great staff! Really enjoyed the food and casual atmosphere! Local butcher provides beef for pies, sandwiches.

Booking essential on a Saturday lunchtime. Not suitable for spontaneous visits unless you are willing to sit at a high table. Also, was going to sit outside and was handed a food menu by one member of staff only to be told it's drinks only outside by another member of the wait staff. Very disappointed.

Stopped in for a quick bite. The nachos were by far the nicest we'd tried in years. The trio of dips were all beautifully flavoured. The tempura chicken on the other hand, we found to be too greasy and a little over cooked. Though the chicken itself was perfectly cooked.
