The Ballencrieff in West Lothian

After more than a year of going to this place, I finally made the best decision of my life: to never return. I experienced racism and arrogance from most of the staff. It was clear they don’t accept or respect people from different racial backgrounds. The environment was toxic, cold, and deeply uncomfortable. It’s sad that places like this still exist, but that’s life. I wish Ballencrieff and its staff all the best, even though my time there was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. All the best.

Emma was a great help and idk his name but the guy was also brilliant even giving advice an drinks to someone who was not a heavy drinker

Me and my friends came here for a couple drinks, service was lovely especially the woman who served us, Emma K. Atmosphere is great, would recommend

Went for a night out shay was amazing and gave class service, pours great pints and helped with anything we needed will defo be back

Food was Luke warm at best. First time visitor will certainly need to think about revisiting . Back to Wetherspoons for me i think where the food is far better and warm .

Staff are nice. Food is amazing especially the waffle fries. The kitchen team: Leanne, Ethan, Andy and Lisa are extremely talented and great at their jobs. 100% will be returning for more food.

Was with friends so that made the atmosphere. Quite quiet when we went. Mix up with dogs and tables. Food not so good. A bit bland. Too much on the menu - needs paired down and quality of ingredients increased.

Dropped in for a swift one, service was really good so we came back on the Saturday, great atmosphere and again good service

A local boozer with pool, sports TV bers, wines and standard grub.

The food was great the staff were excellent and made us welcome to as we were just visiting BATHGATE on that day

Cocktails were inexpensive but seemed very juice like.

Visited tonight with my family for a meal to celebrate my birthday. We had a table reserved for 11 people (9Adults and 2 children) between 5 30pm and 8pm After a few attempts we managed to place our order. We were eventually served our main course and some starters at 6.45. Eventually our tables were cleared by 7.30. We had 1/2 an hour to receive and eat our desserts. Before 8 my daughter and son in law left with their youngest child. Myself my son, daughter and her husband and two grandsons were getting ourselves ready to go when Hannah the duty manager appeared and said our table had expired. Fair enough but her manner was rude and unprofessional. I felt angry and disappointed that our family meal had ended so rudely. Not the type of service expected of a family friendly establishment. It was cold and my 3 year old granddaughter had to sit with her mumscoat wrapped around her. We were not advised

Food is good pub food some dishes are better than others the burgers are good. Macaroni is good. They do meals for £20 for 2 courses. If you look for reasonable pub grub, this is it.

Dani was amazing he was so kind whilst he served us always smiling. He was very helpful when helping us pick a pitcher to drink.

Good friendly staff food is not a la carte it's cheap pub food but you get what you pay for. Would recommend the fish in battered beer Can be a bit understaffed at times but most of the time it's fine

Food was alright but the staffs attitude is shocking. No name badge to say who she is but can’t miss her as she has bright pink hair. Walking about miserable and slamming our plates & drinks on table.

Was in last night great wee pub with a good atmosphere and DJ. The barmaid Hannah was top notch good laugh and drinks. Will be back !

We came in late for a coffee and Hannah went out of her way to make coffees for us although the coffee machine was cleaned and closed for the day. Thanks Hannah you are a life saver 🫡

My daughter, son in law, grandson and I visited here, to celebrate my daughter's birthday. We ordered through the app, which to be fair, was easy enough. We ordered 2 starters, 4 mains and 4 large cokes. The drinks were brought out, filled with ice. Some people may like this, but when paying £3.10 per glass, you're really paying for ice and very little juice. I asked the waitress if she would be kind enough to take mine back, remove the ice and top my glass up with coke. She did this but was not very happy about it. Roughly 10 mins later, our mains arrived before" our starters. I told the waitress that we had ordered starters and her reply "everything gets served at the same time" I then pointed out that by the time we had finished our starters, our mains would be cold. She shrugged her shoulders and walked off. The food was mediocre The service was dreadful The atmosphere was questionable We will not be back.

I had a great night out here a few weeks ago and all the staff were great, the guy at the bar Sam was really helpful with getting all our drinks sorted and he was very friendly and polite

Jen was completely accommodating and an absolute gem. She made me feel super comfortable as a solo traveller, as if I'd known her for years. although I still don't love Tenants, I do love Jen's service and would come back in a heartbeat

Every table was booked but we were able to use one provided we left before the booking.

It was a standard chain pub just like a Weatherspoons. Food wasn't amazing but good, beer selection was good.

Went on Monday for dinner, great value for money. 2 courses and drinks for both of us for £20. We were persuaded to play bingo, really great banter and Fiona and Zoe made us all laugh. We even win some cash. Great night out.
