Stopped here on our way from north to south wales. Lovely welcome from the staff. Sat down and we had an awesome full brekky! Wow set us up for the day. Eggs needed a little bit longer but apart from that yum 😋

Stopped here as it was easy and free to park our motorcycles. Breakfast was ok but over priced. Coffee was well over priced for a basic coffee. I won’t be visiting again.

Great sausage buttie. Friendly staff . Epic views . Call site a bit throughout the summer on my motorbike . Have done for years

Such a warm welcome from the owner, a fascinating man. We had two great breakfasts and owner was happy to adjust them slightly for us. On a stormy grey day will really appreciate the powerful heating. A unique location, cafe full of character and charm. A MUST VISIT cafe for any tourist, biker, or dog owner as dogs welcome. Welsh spoken here and owner more than happy to give advice about the area.

We popped in on our way past whilst on a motorbike ride. The staff were friendly and the food was great. Nice and fresh, but served quickly. We ate outside as the weather was excellent. Absolutely no complaints, a great breakfast with a view.

Nice little place with friendly staff offering a wide variety of food and snacks. However, we just popped in for a takeaway coffee (cappuccino and a flat white) I noted that they had a ‘proper’ machine for making the coffee and not just a push button thing so was looking forward to the drinks. I have to say that the coffee was awful! If you advertise the likes of cappuccino/flat white etc it would be nice if someone was trained in making it properly!

We've just had a lovely Breakfast and Coffee here for a family of 4. The Ladies were warm, welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Absolutely lovely experience and will definitely be back. We previously enjoyed a visit to this cafe a couple of years ago and was excited to return before heading off on a long drive to south wales on a Sunday morning. However, as we approached at their opening time, we were told “fryers aren’t on, another 10 mins” and we didn’t have time to wait around. We had paid £5 for parking at the lake for no reason. There were other patrons already in the cafe, but we weren’t allowed in. Not good for tourist sadly.

Just popped in for a quick coffee to break up our walk to Bala from Glanllyn Campsite and was REALLY pleasantly surprised! Delicious coffee, very welcoming, fire going in the Pizza Hut, lovely layout in the garden, nice clean and new tables and deck chairs, could quite easily have been in Lake Garda!

Great grub before hitting the road again. Lovely little cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. A nice simple menu and a breakfast that really hits the spot! Not too often you get fried bread with a cooked breakfast anymore so it was a lovely treat!

Given they have the best position next to the lake, they. Would make an absolute fortune if they put just a little effort in.... The elderly lady, very pleasant but unfortunately she was doing all the work while the younger staff just went to her with every little thing instead of doing the job... The rest of their time was spent chatting and playing with their hair... A lot... And not washing their hands afterwards before then handling food..... Trying to talk to then about it was pointless.... I feel sorry for the elderly lady... Clearly doing all the work herself...

Visited here for some lunch after being in the lake. We had 2 children 4 adults, it’s a nice cafe by the t lake but unfortunately the service lets it down- the lady running the place isn’t very friendly, we spent £60 on total and she moaned about giving the children extra ketchup. The food was ok, nothing special but reasonably priced- my jacket had barely any cheese to say I ordered it with cheese (photo attached ) you had to ask for salt , and any other sauces you’re given 1 each. Times are hard, people are choosing whether they eat out and if they do they expect excellent service for the price they’re paying. This place is a gold mine but it’s being let down by the lady serving who is very grumpy.

Stopped in here for breakfast, it was clean and well maintained, staff were friendly and service was quick, great full breakfast and breakfast rolls followed by an apple tart, all fab, would definitely visit againq

Came here as a party of six. The indoor seating was a bit of a tight squeeze but we managed to find a table and a half to sit at. No table service so this meant queuing at the small till area. The staff were friendly but appeared to be disorganised service wise.

Couldn't get in, or sit outside in my power chair. Very poor. No access at all yet the car park is free for disabled visitors. So there are going to be people needing accessibility. Very disappointing

After a steady walk we needed a snack and warm drink on a misty morning. On arrival we entered the door by the road. The cafe is small and compact inside, but with seating outside. All areas were clean and tidy.

My wife and I had eaten our picnic in the car and required a warm drink instead of the cold drinks which we had in the car. Do be careful when entering the cafe because of the height of the door is low.On entering the very clean cafe even though walkers and people who are enjoying water sports were availing themselves of the establishment we were greeted by a member of the staff and took our intermediately, and we did not have to wit long for our Latte Coffees to be served at our table.Although we did not require food at this time we viewed the excellent menu and the food which was presented to other patrons looked appetising. Having called in for an ice cream on Saturday we noticed that they catered for a full English cooked breakfast so on Sunday morning we started early and walked to the cafe to try the breakfast. Choice of large or small a full English cooked breakfast cooked to order was superb. Excellent service and very reasonably priced. Well recommended.

We picked a pretty dreary week for our our holiday in Wales, but found this little place right on the edge of Lake Bala, when out for a drive in the rain. They have a nice selection of ice cream flavours and home made cakes. If the weather had behaved we would have sat outside to admire the view a little more.

Pretty little cafe at Lake Tegid/Bala. Couldn't be in a nicer setting right by a beautiful lake. Sat outside with the dog as it was lovely weather, not 100% sure but I think they do welcome dogs inside. Only had coffee the first visit, very good it was too. On the day we left we had breakfast, again couldn't fault it. Recommended.

Nice little cafe with a lovely view of Bala lake, food was good although a tad pricey for breakfast. The bench seating inside wasn’t very comfortable but we loved the colourful benches outside and the ice creams looks delicious :)

On entering the cafe it appears that they only serve an endless assortment of ice creams but ignore the counter and get a menu. We selected the all day breakfast one small and one large they were excellent with generous portions. (The black pudding was very tasty). The cafe does seem a little “cozy” at the back end but the other tables are very large. The view of the lake which other contributors mention was obstructed by sun shades and a ice cream van (posh one). Very friendly staff member looked after us. Will be going there again no doubt.

Lovely cafe! Food was excellent and the ice-cream was delicious! Been here before and it keeps getting better! The sitter area outside very nice and a relaxing place to enjoy the scenery. Staff are really helpful and welcoming, definitely coming here again very soon!

We have spent a lovely week here in Bala. The owners are warm and friendly. The holiday let is very homely with amazing views over the lake. The cafe make an excellent breakfast. Plus a lovely place to call in for a coffee and cake after an active time in the lake.

Initially it is a bit confusing as you need to walk along the pavement to get to the door to café and place your order. Then you can go back along the pavement to sit outside or stay inside. Whichever you choose, after that your order will be brought to you. It was very pleasant to sit out with our drinks in the sunshine. So nice that we then fetched ourselves icecreams and sat with them - it is nice sometimes to be able to sit with icecream in a tub and eat it. Enjoyed this place.

Perfectly located next to Bala lake, the cottage above the cafe is ideal for anyone who enjoys walking, looking at stunning scenery or water sports like swimming, canoeing or kayaking. We found it perfect for touring the Snowdonia National Park with the amazing vistas and outdoor activities on offer. The kitchen contains all the appliances you need and the flat was immaculately clean. Bala town is lovely with pubs/restaurants at sensible prices. All in all we loved our stay and certainly intend to return.

Right. You own a cafe. It’s next to a massive lake. In beautiful countryside. Guess what? On a bank holiday weekend when it’s cracking the flags your going to be busy with people buying cups of tea and ice creams.

We were lucky enough to stay at Y Bwthyn (which is attached to the Loch Cafe0 over Christmas. We book self catering properties a lot as we like to take our dog with us and Y Bwthyn takes some beating. Glorious views, cosy and warm cottage, the best equipped kitchen we've experienced which was useful for cooking Christmas dinner, free reliable wifi and to top it off lovely hospitable owners. There are walks form the door into the countryside, round the lake or by the river. With parking at the property you can leave the car and take a walk into town were there is everything you could need - butchers, baker, co-op, chippy, several dog friendly pubs (Plas Yn Dre was our favourite - very dog friendly, great food and friendly staff and locals). Thank you Eleri and Gareth - we had a fantastic time and aim to be back!

Just returned from a couple of nights stay at The Loch Cafe. Stayed in the house next door to the cafe. Had the most amazing welcome. Happy, warm and such a lovely couple who manage this beautiful place on the doorstep of Bala lake. It's like being at home. The owners have thought of everything to ensure a good stay. Our dog Belle was so welcomed too.

The cottage felt right out of a fairy tale, the interiors were cozy & warm. Had the most comfortable sleep in a very long time.

Absolutely wonderful 2 night stay in the most cosiest cottage ive ever stayed in. Greeted by warm and friendly owner Eleri and staff of Loch Cafe with hot coffee and warm delicious scones with jam and clotted cream. Breakfast the next morning was hot,plentiful and fresh, set us up for the day!! The cottage was great, very warm, cosy and the bed was one of the comfiest ive ever slept in!!! Exceptionally clean cottage with lovely touches of toiletries, bathrobes,slippers, and lovely little hamper filled with some lovely traditional goodies. We had a wonderful stay at 'Y Bwthyn' and loved Bala we will definitely be returning and would highly recommend especially as very dog friendly!! We are looking forward to returning.

I recently stayed in The cottage by the Loch Cafe,and had a lovely holiday , the accommodation is lovely, we were met with an invitation for a cream tea,bathrobes, slippers and towels were provided also a hamper with tea cake biscuits and chocolate.All in all a great holiday was had, and we would highly recommend the Cottage 'Y Bwthyn'.

I booked this small cafe for lunch on our Saturday run for 20 bikers. Our tables were reserved and the food cooked to order. The staff were very friendly and the food was good, just what we needed on such a wet day.

The Loch Café comes highly recommended. They catered for a large party of over 130 people with great coffee and pastries. Excellent service and they went out of their way to set up the additional covering. Thanks again.

Stopped for breakfast, ordered a bacon sandwich which I think was £4.50. Could not believe I had paid that much for bacon on a thin sliced loaf piece of bread! I would have at least expected bloomer bread at that price! Despite that the bacon was very nice as well as the mocha and ice cream.

We have just returned from staying at the cottage next to Loch cafe Bala. Well it was amazing. We have rented lots of cottages over the years but never had such a wonderful welcome ever before. Eleri the owner of the cottage and cafe met us on arrival showed us around the cottage gave us lots of information as well as treating us to a delicious cream tea. The cottage was immaculate so clean and tidy with everything you could possibly need. There was even complimentary soaps shower gels in each bathroom as well as white robes and slippers. The cottage was so homely and romantic I slept the best I had for ages. We took our dogs and there were so many lovely walks .I ate in the loch cafe most days and each time it was lovely. All the staff were so friendly. Eleri and her husband were so welcoming such nice people I could thoroughly recommend staying here in fact like us you won't want to leave.

Stayed in this beautiful cottage for a week with my husband and son situated on the shores of Bala Lake. The cottage is lovely and cosy very clean and well equipped. I loved the little touches like the bathrobes and slippers and hairdryer (normally given in very good hotels) the owners are wonderful very helpful and greated us with coffee and scones on arrival. The cottage is a very short walk into Bala and next door to the swimming pool.

A welcome break, easy for parking which is a problem on this route for larger vehicles.average hot food but plentiful, sausages tasted cheap and nasty, and repeated on you, desert very nice and pleasing to the sweet toothed.

Called in with friends on a road trip just for a cup of coffee, which was quite nice, although the coffee lady was a bit flustered by our order, but the coffee was nice, although the first made were a bit cold by the time all six were done.

We stopped off for lunch food was good, the lady who brought food out was really lovely but the women behind counter left a bit to be desired with service. The 2nd time we visted was to get a drink rand the bell 3 times for service no one ever appeared which was disappointing

We really enjoyed our stay at the holiday cottage next to the cafe. It was a cosy little bolthole off season, just a short walk in Bala town and really tranquil with views over the lake. The owners made us feel very welcome with afternoon tea on arrival and we enjoyed the freedom to come and go as we pleased with our own little anorth Wales retreat. Thank you.

We only came here for lunch on our last day but we wished we had found it before! The staff are really friendly and the restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere to it. Highly recommended as the food tastes like proper home cooked food, matched with their decent portion size and you got yourself an awesome little lakeside cafe.

The price of the food isn't cheap so at least expected it to be edible, ordered a toastie which was £5.75 and cold and tasted awful, also a latte which was full of bits and undrinkable. My husband had a breakfast which was very basic for the price and was still hungry after. Definitely would not recommend visiting here for food or drink.

This is such a lovely cafe,situated by the lake with beautiful views looking over lake Bala,there is a seating area outside which is a bonus on a nice day,the staff are always friendly and polite,and the owner is so welcoming,and cheerful she goes out of her way to make us and our dog feel very welcome-"yes" they allow clean dry well behaved dogs in which is just great for us.There is a good menu,something on it for everyone,today we tried the all day breakfast,I had the vegetarian option and my husband upgraded to the large breakfast wow it was one of the best breakfasts we have eaten out,plenty of food,nicely presented,and well cooked-thank you,good coffee and a good selection of desserts and cakes,not to mention a delicious range of ice creams,makes this cafe a wonderful place to stop at,and we will definitely be returning and would recommend.

Tasty scones (can recommend!) and a wide selection of ice cream to choose from.We had a breakfast in here which was freshly cooked to order, tasted nice and the large breakfast was plenty for my husband while the small suited me.The owners were very friendly and welcoming!

We only called for coffee and cake after kayaking on the lake. Fantastic choice of ice cream and the black forest gateau is amazing. Service was great and the coffee delicious.

Popped in at lunchtime after a swim in Bala Lake. The cafe and staff were welcoming, warm, and friendly. We can certainly recommend the homemade soup which was packed full of fresh vegetables and chicken, along with the toasties that were on offer and generously filled. To be fair, you are spoilt for choice with a great menu of savoury and sweet dishes. Would recommend the Loch Cafe to anyone.

Stopped here for lunch on the way home from a weekend in Bala. Full welsh breakfast was very tasty and we all had an ice cream for dessert which was fabulous. Would recommend this quirky cafe to anyone who wants a good meal in a homely atmosphere with welcoming staff. An all-round great cafe with stunning views of Llyn Tegid and the Aran mountains. Will definitely return in future.

We visited the loch cafe on Wednesday 20th July. Weather was beautiful so we sat outside in the garden area. We chose to ignore the fact that we had to look for a seat/table that didn't have chunks of wood missing out of it but we had only ordered a coffee and we wouldn't be staying long. When we placed our order, a group of 4 in front of us had just ordered coffee and cake each ( nothing that needed cooking). The rest of the cafe was completely empty.Ten minutes after ordering we started clock watching and wondering what the delay was. Fifteen minutes after ordering my husband went to check if there was a problem. He was told they were dealing with it at that moment. My husband did also note that two other couples were inside the cafe, having been served, but who were not there when we placed our order. After a further 5 minutes, another couple sat next to us (who arrived and ordered 10minutes after us) actually received their food. Still we had no coffee!! We both then went to find out what had happened and demand our money back. The assistant who served us made no apology and just held his hands up!! An apology was left to someone else! Half of the coffee that was being poured out at that moment was not in the cup but in the saucer!!! Avoid!! Spend your money in town it's probably cheaper and hopefully the service is better!!!!!

Always go here during the summer months for ice-cream (Mint chocolate chip) It's incredibly nice but rather expensive.It's in a lovely location right next to the Lake.Yet to try any hot food from here or beverages.
