Stayed in Caernarfon for a week and this pub was perfect for us! The atmosphere was great, music on in the background and all the football was on! The staff were friendly the food was amazing and to say the least the pints were spot on! Will definitely be back!

It's a pub, you get exactly what you expect. Great place to visit for the atmosphere, live music and karaoke add for a bit of fun.

The food and drink are good and the staff are very friendly. The atmosphere is lacking, no music playing.

Food is great! Tables could do with a wipe and the toilets could do with a revamp.

The staff were so friendly and went above and beyond to accommodate us. They were understanding of the additional needs of the people in our group and couldn't have done more to make us comfortable. Thank you! Great selection of drinks (we didn't have food) and loads of space and great options for sports.

Great pub for sports, and the friendliest staff! We came to watch the Newcastle match and the staff were lovely, couldn't have been friendlier. When we arrived unfortunately they had closed the kitchen as it was a late weekday match, but they were so canny they let us bring a takeaway in so we wouldn't miss the match. Lovely choice of drinks, great atmosphere, loads of screens if you're watching the sport so easy to see. And overlooking the beautiful castle, all lit up at night, a great spot. If we're back in Caenarfon at any stage we will come again.

We saw this place when we went to the castle over the road and decided to come back on the Sunday for the carvery and it did not disappoint. The place is popular so get there close to opening time. Lovely friendly atmosphere and the staff are great. I had the roast beef and it was delicious. Would have taken a picture for the review but it was long gone. The roasties were perfectly crispy, the beef was melt in the mouth and the veggies were perfect cooked, not a soggy bit of veg in sight. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. We felt able to relax and not rushed to eat and leave quickly. Excellent portion size although I may need a bit of a walk. You’ll find this place in the middle of all the action and it’s definitely worth a visit.

Fantastic wee pub, bar staff are very friendly and welcoming. The wee bar man is some chanter. Would highly recommend if you're in Caernarfon visiting

First time stopping by while on holiday and thoroughly recommend! Delicious food and very attractive staff, I mean prices! Tho the staff were lovely too 😁 Also dog friendly! We had the Caesar Salad and my partner the Fish and Chips. Very glad we stopped by!

Never have I met a more superb bunch of ladies behind the bar. Friendly, welcoming, totally awesome experience when I last visited 🔥👌

Lovely pub that’s right beside the castle. Opens late as well which was a life saver when half the places were closed already

First visit to Caernarfon town and this tavern. The bar man was busy arguing with someone on his telephone and didnt take much notice of us. Eventually was served, no ice offered with our drinks. Food was average, and afordable. Looks preety from outside thats all there is to say.

We called in for lunch with our little dog and were welcomed by very friendly staff. The potato skin ‘Starter’ was a large portion, piping hot and very nice indeed.

Rudest staff ever . Watched us studying the menu went to order told us no longer serving food. We went to the bar ordered a g&t no ice the after going off to get some overflowed the glass just awful

Can only give this place 3 stars as tables were dirty and toilets according to my wife were not good. Great location but needs a bit more care and attention

Great Sunday carvery, very well cooked and delicious. Excellent value for money. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

Service was very very slow. One table had 11 people and 2 had finished eating before the rest had even received their food. Food was very average.

Absolute must stop at pub in caernarfon , stunningly Celtic atmosphere sat outside with the mighty Caernarfon castle view. And great people behind the bar . Night time takes an awesome atmosphere in to an electric night with live bands and locals always willing to entertain on the karaoke. Must go pub for a night out .

The staff were incredibly friendly and very welcoming, definitely recommend this pub to all of Wales... plus, it's right next to a beautiful castle!

Can't believe we were charged £6.30 for 2 halves of lemonade and orange squash. Needless to say we will not be returning.

The pub was good. I think I had two drinks in there, not too pricey, i would go back if I was in the area , bar staff was friendly, it's worth a visit.

We are disappointed. After asking if they had a menu, the waiter asked what we would like and the kitchen was closed (it was five in the afternoon). We chose an alcoholic drink and after presenting ID and ten minutes he declared that he could not accept it (for reasons unknown to us). We do not recommend.

First time of going after reading some reviews and we were glad that we did. Very friendly staff and great pub atmosphere. Sunday Carvery was just wonderful,I had a little of each meat my partner the beef and ham. Everything just perfect for us.Super tasty cauliflower cheese, roast potatoes just like home and all the meats succulent. Plenty of everything ,great place to be. Thanks to all for a great meal 😋

We booked a table for 10 people for our Xmas lunch. The food was amazing, service was great, staff very pleasant, the best we’ve had for a long time. Simply the best. We are all local and all of us were more thsn satisfied.

What an amazing pub! My partner and I came here on Sunday, greeted by a friendly bar staff and waitress serving us drinks and putting our carvery order through. We were then told to sit back at our table and when we were next in line for the carvery we will be told. After about 10 minutes, a waitress came to our table to tell us politely we are next! Considering the amount of people (a full pub) also having a carvery, 10 minutes was very quick! What a jolly man the cook was, a good laugh and so helpful. Good slices of meat. The staff behind the carvery stand were confident to explain what every unusual veg was. And the gravy was just amazing! Very thankful to all staff for a great visit. Would recommend to anyone that is looking for somewhere to go for a carvery! Will be returning very soon!

was here last week, had carvery and i must say it was the best i had for long time, beef was so tender and the mash was something else, staff was really good, we was lucky have table as it was very busy, staff worked hard fair play

Went in for curry night , had beef curry and it was really well cooked' we stayed for the karaoke after and the staff was really friendly and we had great fun, will be back again 👌 😄 👍

Went for a late lunch which was delicious and the place was so cosy we ended up staying for karaoke night which was great fun. Definitely go again. Staff were brilliant and attentive. Highly recommended place to visit. We loved it there.

The food I had at The Palace Vaults was one of if not the best cavary I have ever had!And it was very clean and the staff was very friendly with me especially the ones at the bar and at the cavary stand! The gravy was perfect and it was the best meat I have ever eaten,as a football fan it is also nice to have a tv wherever you sit because there are about five or six all around the place!Also the atmosphere was nice and i could eat my food and enjoy. I also liked the prices of the food because of the quality of the food it feels like i have just got a bargain. This was my best experience in a while 👏👏

lovely carvery i had in the palace vaults the other day very nice meat the ham is incredible!! love it !!! stuffing if my fave and it was absolutely gorgeous perfect just how i like it 7 different veg !! amazing i really enjoyed it and absolutely amazed my the gravy it was perfect i love my sunday dinner and i really enjoyed this i recommend you going as really nice food and lovely waitress also a really cozy place to sit to catch up with friends or family i would 100% go back here

Been in many places for carvery locally at Caernarfon area, The Carvery here is by far the best i have had, four choices of meat and many choices of delicious veg, but the gravy tops it all!! Would definitely recommend to anyone that has not been to go and get their Sunday Carvery from here!!

Had the Curry on the Curryoke night! Very tasty and plenty of choice inc vegetarian. Would recommend this evening to friends and family

Lovely home made curry the korma was delicious, served with naan bread , pappadums and mango chutney, would highly recommend a visit to this friendly pub👍

Lovely pub right next to the castle - well worth a visit!

We randomly stumbled upon the Palace Vaults whilst on my birthday road trip. We were a coach full of 50 people in 80s fancy dress and the palace vaults welcomed us and absolutely made our day! Put extra staff on to keep all of our drinks topped up and had a DJ playing all of our favourite 80s tunes. We were all up dancing all night and didn’t want to leave. Thank you so much to everyone there, it was a birthday to remember x

this is a nice spot to pop in for a lunch or even a drink I enjoyed this meal so much a delicious meal and it was quick aswell about 7 minutes of wait and I was greeted by a lovely waitress a lovely person at the bar aswell served me a pint of Pepsi I would 100% go back and recommend you to visit and a gorgeous view of the castle outside x

Dog friendly, pleasant staff cheap and cheerful food. Great value. Only criticism is they close at 5.0pm for food serving. We got there just in time. They missed out on at least 25 covers whilst we were there.

We popped in as we were visiting, and the food was nice and quickly served. Quite busy, loads of staff. I didn't like the fact that the toilet cubicle door was only half a door and it had no lock. Not really what you expect.

I ain't gonna lie, I liked it at Palace Vaults, I just went in with two of my carers and it kinda had its own flaws, the wait was a bit appalling but that's when I think the owner of the bar said they'll give us a free drink. Because of the long wait. They were lovely, although one of the workers was moody and slammed cutlery on the counter which imo there was no need, it was good. Brings me down to the food, I can tell you now if your looking for a curry in one of the evenings or day then the chicken curry they make was spot on. They do Rice or you can swap that with homemade chips. 😋 they do nachos, jacket potatoes, though the menu is kinda small. I would certainly recommend to those who want to have a few pints while waiting for their food.
