Me and my partner went out for tea, Servers didnt seem happy from the moment we walked in made it abit off putting to spend money here, Was pricy had a mixed grill, i didn't really injoy it to be honest everything just tasted the same, and they wasnt alot there didnt look like a ussual mixed grill, was expecting more, i had mixed grill the previous week at another place in town and enjoyed that alot more was hungry a few hours later we had 1 drink each and 1 meal each, 60 pound won't say it's not a nice place, because it really does stand out inside and out

Went here with my wife, our 1st visit. Ordered from the three course Weekend treat menu. I had Mushrooms, Sea Bass, apple cherry crumble all were spot on. My wife however had a less than great experience. Aperol spritz all soda very little proccecco Halloumi sticks ordered with no mayo came with mayo but no chilli jam. Main, ordered steak really well done no pink Was pink so sent back, came back still pink so it was left. Not sending for a third go on the grill. Was offered 20% off for the trouble, nice we thought, but it was taken off the full price not the amount due from the weekend menu.saved £4.00 We just left as it was clear they just didn't get it. Shame as it is handy for our holiday home and are there every weekend. Edit: Thank you, but I'll not bother. To help you out though, the correct spritz is 3 parts Prosecco, 2 parts Aperol and a splash of soda. Slice of orange is a nice touch but probably too much to expect at the Lobster Pot.

Came for tea tonight Friday as we're staying at south cliff and it's our sons 12th birthday. The food was lovely, my sons who had not been feeling too good was now bouncing off the walls after having paracetamol and ate a e course adults meal! The waiter whose name I think was nathan was fantastic, and even gave us a lovely discount. Will always return now thank you 😊

Food amazing, especially the chocolate melt in the middle pudding. We were waiting quite a while for both courses, but definitely worth waiting for.

I don’t do reviews often but thought been as we’ve been going for a few years, we sat down at around 1.35 pm on Sunday, but disappointed that we weren’t told that the Sunday Roast was all sold out ! Before we sat down 😟 No pies and hardly anything else on the menu. To me Sunday Roast should be available until at least 4pm and very popular pies shouldn’t run out at all😟 The staff were pleasant even though I wasn’t particularly happy and that’s not me normally tho I travelled 25 miles to get there. I just hope that things can improve in future🫢 We will come back tho because it’s a lovely place and the food when it arrives is actually good. Phil & Fay

We waited 10 minutes for our drinks order and 90 minutes for our food to arrive. When it came, I was given the wrong burger. Despite planning to stay for dessert and a cocktail, after such a long wait we just wanted to eat and leave, and were actually about to give up and go seconds before the food finally arrived. We were offered complimentary drinks (and a 30% discount) for the trouble, but the waitress only waited for one of us to order before rushing off. Also, The table did not have the drinks menu when we arrived and had not been properly cleaned. Judging by lots of other recent reviews, this seems to be an ongoing issue and none of the responses from the company indicate a plan for improvement - just a “sorry, we usually have high standards” type thing. It seems very understaffed and poorly managed. I hope that this review is properly taken into account, as it has a lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, good menu, and great gluten free menu. It’s just a shame that management seems to have been consistently letting the side down. If you have been out on a long beach/exploration day, I unfortunately wouldn’t recommend this place due to the unreliability of the service and the long wait you are likely to have.

Today we had 2 Sunday beef Sunday roasts. They were awful. The sirloin beef was overcooked. Very tough. Everything had a strange taste including potatoes and Yorkshire Pudding. Even the gravy tasted odd. If the gravy had been ok I would have ordered some gravy for the Yorkshire Pudding. .However we were not even offered gravy for the Yorkshire Puddings Honestly it surely can’t be this bad normally as it was fully booked. Something must have been wrong tiday

I came to lobster pot today with my partner been many times before today was very disappointing we popped in didn't book a table but they did get us one quite quickly thank you for that got to order food looking forward to Sunday lunch nothing left at 1 30 not good enough for me and then tried to order three more things nothing left not happy then ordered hunters chicken twice got one hunters chicken and burger not happy again it's Sunday guys people go out for Sunday lunch not to get one at 1 30 very wrong In my eyes might come back but not any time soon felt very sorry for staff because they where very good

Really friendly professional service and great food. Dog friendly and made to feel really welcome as soon as we entered.

Service was indifferent at best. Ordered at table as we had two dogs with us. Dessert took 30mins so I had to get up and ask for it. I was greeted with a look that said ‘ oh ok ‘, and then we were served dessert with our dinner plates still on the table; which we had to stack ourselves. I always carry cash for a tip. I still have it!

Update 6** now, loving the new menu. We had tea last night, 3 courses, lovely staff, food was excellent!!!, loving the Lobster Pot. We're local and visit with our 2 dogue de bordeaux. Always made welcome. Friendly, polite staff. Great service. Nicely cooked food. Good value for money.

Horrendous. Super rude and argumentative waitress. Food only warm and half missing. (Medley of greens = soggy green beans. No peas, kale, mangetout etc.) No lemon with the fish, which was described as pan fried, but came out soggy with wet, limp skin. Wrong sauce on the hunters chicken, which the waitress also argued about! It was clearly tomato sauce, not BBQ, but she was adamant that the menu said tomato. She also argued this with a different table. When we mentioned our concerns, we just got a backlash of shockingly rude backchat from the waitress. We were speechless! Soggy crumble which was barely 2 mouthful...and nearly £7! The beer was room temperature and flat, not even cellar temp as cask ale should be... shocking from a Marstons owned pub. Not even an apology from the waitress, just a pay your bill and go away attitude...all £140 of it! Very expensive for poor quality food and drinks.

Pub was half full on a Monday night and took 70min to arrive from ordering for two meals, another 30 min wait for the dessert to arrive. Very poor atmosphere and average to poor food. Avoid

Waited 40 minutes for our meal even though it was quiet, not much choice and at 5pm on a Sunday only lamb left for a roast which is poor planning. Yorkshire practically flat, veg tasteless and watery. Cocktail in very small glass which did not reflect the price. Very disappointed all round.

Waited well over an hour for 6 Sunday roasts. Inconsistency with what was on the plate. The beef was not nice at all and we gave it to our dog. The staff were not at all bothered that we had waited so long and kept sending different people to say we were still waiting.

visited the lobster pot on the 15th of February with my partner, the staff was very friendly, we both ordered the scampi which was served promptly but the portion sizes was shocking maybe 6 chips an egg cup of peas and maybe 6 scampi this cost us 13,99 each

Waited 40 mins for our food even though it was quiet, Sunday roast was barely warm and the veg was watery and tasteless, Yorkshire pudding was practically flat. My partner had fish and chips which was dry and the peas looked like they had been kept warm for ages. Also had an aperol spritz which was in a small wine glass definitely not worth over £8! Very disappointed will not return.

Had a query with the Bill after being told of another by a member of staff. Eventually the lady who wanted payment came back with £20 deduction. She didn’t say anything except pushed the card machine at one of my friends, took payment and walked off without any acknowledgment or thank you. Not good service.

My local now so maybe I'm biased, but I really enjoy nipping for a breakfast and my wife and I often go for our dinner. I really like it, very clean, super service and spot on grub.

Small portions or what, thought I had a kids meal for £14.95 for hunters chicken, thought it was a budgie on my plate with two small rashes of bacon hiding the chicken breast. More chips than chicken and handful of lettuce. Had this dish at other Marston pubs and was more on your plate. Definitely won't be returning to this pub again. 😒

Dropped in for a bite to eat on the way home. In time for the early bird special. Great value three course meals, smaller choice than the main menu but enough to please most palates. Friendly service, lovely food, well presented and freshly cooked. Relaxed and welcoming atmosphere means we are regular customers.

1st time today, happy to allow dogs but was a very limited menu no steaks gammon chicken, it was a case of what do you have. We both had bacon and cheese beef burgers was actually very nice, abit on expensive side for a chain pub. I would definitely try again hopefully with a full menu. Bar staff was friendly I did feel sorry for her having to explain to everyone that nearly all the menu was out of stock

Lovely Sunday roast, we called in from a cold walk along the beach the team were so kind and friendly nothing was too much to ask the chefs are a big credit to the team aswell will definitely be back !!!

The pub was awful. No chicken burger. No sirloin steak. No mixed grill. No chicken strips. No hawkstone beer. Everything we asked for they didn't have. It felt empty but the wait for food was long. Portions were not massive. Ordered sausage and mash which said on menu served with bacon and green beans. There was no bacon. The green beans were hardly any and mixed with peas and mange tout. Not enough gravy. It was just poor. Staff were friendly . Hotel was clean. Food overpriced. Portions small. Cobwebs in the restaurant

Very disappointed with the food quality been very poor to say that the place was very quiet. Steak pies were cold and the chips very anemic and peas dried up as though they had been keep under heat lamps too long. The hunters chicken was over cooked and dry. Our party opted for a dessert and wished that they hadn't. The staff member who served us reached over us to pass food to the the people on the otherside of the table instead of walking round to them and not the most pleasant of odours. We will not be returning as feel that it was a waste of over £60 on food alone.

This place is just a joke. We went on a Saturday ( already left feedback for that visit) and then we went last night. We were greeted by a young man who was very pleasant but quite obviously stressed, we had booked so he sat us at our table, we were then greeted by a surly miserable young woman, who asked if we wanted drinks which we did, so when she came back she read off a great long list of stuff they didn’t have. No steaks, no chicken, no mixed grill and on it went, so i asked why on earth don’t you just close if you haven’t got anything on the menu; I know it wasn’t her fault but her attitude didn’t help as we were by then already annoyed by the whole set up, I appreciate it’s the week between Christmas and new year and things are tricky but you are a massive chain, this shouldn’t happen and then be even more wound up by miserable staff….. we definitely wont be going back

Having been seated we asked if anything was not available and were told that there were 6 items on the menu that were not! Including fish and chips, steak pies, sirloin steak and lasagna (we could not even see the lasagna on the menu). The rib-eye was tough the burger over peppered. Ordering at the bar was interrupted when the server decided to check someone into the hotel other staff just passed by without making eye contact or saying someone will be wit you shortly. All in all we feel the Lobster Pot let them selves down.

Booked for 3 courses boxing day never been so disappointed mushroom starter overcooked, main cold and roast potatoes were more like boiled. We had preordered christmas pudding but was told none left. Asked to speak to manager but sent waitress to deal with problem. We spent £80 in total and have never been so disappointed.

Great food though lots of items were unavailable meaning there was a limited menu available.

Stayed overnight to visit relatives over Christmas we were let in a timely fashion the room was lovely and clean and we even had a Christmas card and cracker left from housekeeping. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Food when available is good, beds are the comfiest ever but cleanliness of toiltets is despicable. Breakfast not worth the money. Not everything out/ available.

Grim, is a fair word for the Lobster pot. Service is among the very slackest I have ever encountered. No urgency in the staff whatsoever. The place was not even a quarter full but still took just over an hour to receive our starters. Then overheard a customer complaining of a lemon tart still partially frozen and a chocolate brownie under done. That's when we really started to wonder why we bothered to retry this place 2 yrs later. Burgers were fine ,very edible. But no coleslaw accompanying any dish. My daughters macaroni cheese was substandard, served up in a shallow dish which must have been left under the heat lamp for an age. Very crusty and hard. The bread was nice though. Basically I couldn't even bother to complain as the staff had very little interest in trying to make our visit enjoyable at the least, so felt like I would be banging my head against the wall. Paid up and walked, no more Marstens. Will say though you have a lovely big carpark.

We have been for Christmas dinner today.and from going in to coming out was a very nice experience. Great reception amazing food and the service was second to none. We were in fir 12 noon and left at 2pm. Credit to everyone involved and we will be booking again for next year. Thank you to all the management and all your staff. Food wasn't very good. Especially for the price. Staff were welcoming. Nice atmosphere. Dogs welcome. Good cocktails.

Good atmosphere, friendly staff. Tasty food for breakfast and dinner, including a reasonable amount of gluten free options. I really enjoyed the breakfast omelette, and for dinner I've had the Hunter's chicken, Caesar salad and chicken tikka masala. Staff are very good when it comes to understanding dietary restrictions when taking your order. We often stay at the hotel next to the pub when we visit Bridlington due to the reasonable prices and good food here.

We had lunch today with friends. What a lovely experience, from the friendly welcome from Lindsey, who knew that we had booked, to the food from the lunch menu which was very good. I particularly appreciated the care and attention Lindsey paid to my egg allergy, advising me on what was suitable for me to eat. We enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and the staff checking to see that we had everything we needed. We have had similar experiences here before but for our friends it was a first visit and they are planning to visit again on their way up the coast. Thank you Lindsey you were very much appreciated.

Went for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon in December. We practically had the place to ourselves. The food was fine and the service was excellent, friendly and helpful. We have visited the restaurant over many years and it is consistently welcoming and never disappoints

A massive carpark, best to leave your bags in the car as reception is in the pub and the rooms are in a different building Quick check in all info given Room was up some stairs no lift available The room was a good size plenty of space as was the bathroom. Shower was hot and powerful, bed was very comfortable WiFi wasn't that great Evening meal was OK plenty of choice on the menu good value No breakfast included but could add if wanted. A short walk to the seafront also good for a run . Back again on the 2/12/24 Still excellent value and good to stay ! Would I stay again and recommend definitely yes 👍

Last came here a few years ago and gave it a glowing review. Not so now though. We came Sunday 5pm and ordered the Sunday roast. When it came there was lots of it, but it was luke warm and the roast potatoes were rubbery like they had been reheated from the lunchtime carvery. My husband ordered turkey and I ordered pork, but we were both given pork. Although they did serve hubby's with cranberry sauce 😂. The restaurant was really chilly and not a cosy inviting place to have a nice meal. I pulled out my chair after being shown to our table, and the seat fabric was worn through to the blue foam underneath. The chairs looked dirty and tatty, not what you want to sit on when you are wearing nice clothes. There were only a couple of people in the restaurant when we arrived, but we stood waiting to be shown to the table whilst the staff were chatting at the till. A man came out of the kitchen and came to show us to the table. Food hygiene states that food needs to be served at a safe temperature to avoid bacterial growth and food poisoning, this fell very below a safe temperature. I teach cookery for a living, and would never recommend the food here on that basis. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get photos.

I know it's a dog friendly pub but come on putting a dog were ur eating and the barcking when ur trying to eat is not good at all food was nice the staff need to smile more as well beer smelt like it's been down the bog don't think il be back

To say our steak was small,does a disservice to small,it was slightly bigger than my thumb, I wish I had taken a picture. My wife only had an hour for lunch,she went over that. The starter was amazing,as was my daughter's fish pieces. It's been a good few years since our last visit, I can safely say it will be a good few years before we visit again. The Lobster Pot has replied, I have rung and reserved a table, I didn't speak to a human,it was automated,even though they said to ring. I'll let you know the outcome tonight after the meal, fingers crossed it's the world better than the last one.

The girls was friendly but the Sunday roast was cold certainly not worth £16.79 didn’t get stuffing& crackling as stated we at to mention it

Lovely to look at from the road.. that's all the positive feedback I have. 2 adults and 3 children. We were sat on a table out of the way which was fine. But we were more than forgotten about. Was told it was table service. Yet after waiting more than 20 minutes I had to leave the table to find a staff member to order desserts for the kids (ice creams).. we then waited close to 30 minutes for them to bring them out. Clearly forgotten about as I had to ask a staff member where they were. Portion sizes were ridiculous. The kids meals looked bigger than the adults. I had the chicken and chorizo kabab. Which consisted of two cubes of chicken, some burnt red onion, a huge dry flat bread. And a whole bag of rocket. Way over priced for the quality of food way over priced for the quality of service. I had to find a staff member for the bill. Who has no interest in the quality of our stay, just a grunt "card or cash" There was no satisfaction checks throughout our stay. When I told the staff member I was unhappy, the was no form of apology, just a small discount. The restaurant was far from busy, and if anything overstaffed as they were all stood in the bar area talking amongst themselves. To be honest. I don't know what we were expecting, but it certainly wasn't to be felt like we were neglected because we had children with us, and then to pay for our experience on top of this was nothing short of an insult. Will not be returning, Will not be recommending WILL be spreading the word for people to avoid.

The food was ok nicely served and standard for the establishment. The service, however, was exceptionally good. we were welcomed and asked if we had booked ( we hadn't). The young girl checked and showed us to a table. The girl that took our drinks order was really nice and friendly too our young grandson was eager to give his order she listened and chatted away to him. Each time both of these girls came to the table, they were smiley and chatty. Our food was ready when a 3rd lady helped with that yet another smile and friendly chat whilst serving us. We then got the chap that served drinks he was just the same. The staff that served us were brilliant and made sure to give us a warm welcome they are a credit to The lobster pot they worked well together, I would say half the tables were in use and the service never faltered.

4 of us went in around 4pm on the off chance they would still be serving on a Wednesday. Greeted by the host Liz who was epic. Sat down straight away. Lovely chatty and quick service. I ordered the mixed grill, others had chicken and mushroom pie, meat and potato pie and a sausage and mash. My mix grill was beyond epic and done how I asked, the others loved their food but standing out was the gravy. We highly recommend this place. Perfect food, great drinks but the host and the staff make this an experience you will definitely be happy with. An 5 star venue.

Good food and excellent service

Service...a bit hit and miss, but generally ok. It seems there's only a few staff members on service ,which at busier times means a long wait for your food. The staff are pleasant and do their best, so it's a try it and see situation. Generally clean and tidy but well worn in some areas. The seat I was on had the foam padding gouged out on the front ,the sort of thing I'd expect in a salvage yard office. Toilets were ok,and worked. Doors to the toilets were filthy from lack of adequate cleaning . Menu was comprehensive and something for everyone, however the plate price of the main courses didn't quite match the quality, with poor vegetables and carrots. I've had much better for £3 less. Kids menu was ok, however we ordered some chicken pieces , that must've come from a cremation...,. Very poor for 5.99. Tip get the chicken from the adult starters menu , it's 200 times better. 3 out of 5 ? Yes...nearly good...but no cigar.

Popped in following visit to the area, nothing we wanted on the menu but given the day expected. Moved to drinks only area but staff accommodating. Only weird point was when my 2 year old niece was told off for going near the bandit and looking at the lights on the way out with her grandfather of 80+years. A bit over zealous. However if I had been there I'd have held the two bells. Not that she understood or my father at his age heard. Maybe we took attention away from the party vaping inside the restaurant. #wantapictureofthatlobsterletmeknow

Delicious food, all fresh and very tasty. Generous Sunday lunch and tasty puddings. The prices aren't too bad except the Pepsi at nearly £4 a glass. For such a quiet time, service could've been quicker I'd say, and the staff, while polite, were not all that happy in their role. Would return though, on the strength of the food quality. Update: more excellent food, delivered quickly this time, with excellent friendly service. Just one small gripe. We didn't really get much gravy on the Sunday roast (the pic is from last time), and when we asked for a little more we received a very small pot between us and were charged for it! Another update. Excellent food and service, no qualms at all.

Went on a recce to see what it was like and found it a nice place to eat outside the seaside town of Bridlington. Went at lunch time midweek and it was quiet. We were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. The food we ordered was nice no complaints so we booked a table for a family get together. Update Saturday the 2nd of November waited for food up to 40 minutes in a not busy bar/restaurant thinking my star rating needs to go down after the second bad experience.

A decent pub meal outside of Brid. The servers are super polite and nice. The burger and cauliflower wings were surprisingly good. Solid pub food options. For people with kids - massive outside area with playground to keep your kiddos happy.

Not the best meal I've had, steak was supposed to be well done, came out black and burnt.Wife pie was straight out of a microwave and didn't taste nice (could tell it been microwave as very hot), kids found foil in pudding, kids hated food and everyone complained about how slow service was.For few times I've been to this place we would not return again .👎👎😞

Looked online and there were tables available to book. Turned up and got told that we couldn’t eat because the restaurant was fully booked. Showed them that we could still book online so would do that to be told that didn’t mean we could eat. Turned away despite there being tables available. Very poor. Avoid!

Service & meal was good, but knives could do with sharpening, we had trouble cutting through roast potatoes.

Tables were very sticky. Went to order fish and they didn't have any!! Didn't really have any interaction with the staff.

Shabby rooms, could do with uplift, carpets especially. Shower poor and quite cold. Overall appearance very 70s.

It's a pleasant place to visit. A long wait for food in the day we went. Shame there was no rotisserie chicken.

Very friendly member of staff who checked me into the hotel. Room was clean and very comfortable. Great price compared to similar hotels in the area. I really liked that parking was free as I had to pay £7 to park at a competitor hotel and these are things that make me not want to return. The most valuable thing for me is that my room was very quiet. It’s so much easier to relax in a peaceful room. Room was nice and spacious with good facilities. Suggestions would be to make it clear what to do with your key card if checking out early as I had to wave through the pub windows to get someone’s attention when I left. Not a huge deal but something to think about. Thanks for a great stay!
