We had a Lovely Sunday roast for Mother’s Day followed by a lovely homemade cheesecake - first time visiting this place after hearing very good reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We have already booked in for Easter.

Had to wait for 1hour and thirty minutes on a pre booked lunch on Mother’s Day Staff said sorry and we were the only people left in the restaurant as people who booked later were served before us as we were a larger booking. We then were treated to a powdered gravy and frozen vegetables and also deep fried potatoes not very appetizing For our dreadful experience we had 3 free desserts so I would recommend to others not to try this place as I think you would have the same experience

Went with my daughter and my antie for Sunday dinner. Firstly they stop dinner because they had to replenish the veg which wasn’t a problem we sat and someone came and took our order . Then we waited and waited . Everyone was being served around us . We asked someone where our order was to which I had a very rude response back that they go by the ticket numbers and there was nothing she could do , even tho she was serving table 20 we where table 18 . We then waited and waited agin all together we waited over and hour , for her to come back and explain that there was no order for us and look at us if it was us who where lying about placing an order . She then ignored us and continued serving others . Then the waitress came back out and informed us that the ticket conveniently blew away . After the way we were spoken to and the amount time we had to wait we walked out , there was no apology and a very rude response about us not wanting the dinners . I would avoid this place as they have no clue about management or customer service. We will not be back and will be warning others to avoid

Fantastic. Great landlady fantastic food reasonably priced we went for a meal with friends from work and was told the food was exceptionall reasonably priced and the landlady lovely. (ALL CORRECT) fantastic place!

Having had such an amazing time I had to write a review to tell everyone that this pub has turned around since being taken over. The previous two reviews must have been to a different Llwyncelyn in porth because it’s not the one I went to. Keep up the excellent work

Horrible staff, never go back. Filthy premises. Staff clearly hate their work and showed no respect for our disabled friend. We will NEVER go there again. It should be closed down.

Hi been to the Llwncelyn hotel for Sunday lunch Today cannot believe how disappointed we are with our lunch the vegetables are frozen And full of water the roast potatoes are deep fried In a chip pan and not roasted Even down to the potatoes was frozen and to top it all the gravy was bistro .I have never tasted such cheap food in my life what a waste of time and money

Our pre-booked birthday meal, early Saturday evening on the 25th January, in a separate dining room from the other customers, was excellent. Starters, main courses and desserts were all really nice and considering there were 24 adults and 5 children the staff did a fantastic job in preparing, serving and clearing up the food. The food was lovely and everyone appreciated the real chips that were served with the main course. The room was great for our party size and the staff were superb.

Just walked out of this pub tonight after being spoken to like dirt by the cook Caroline. We are residents of Porth and have used this restaurant for over 30 years....phoned in advance check availability and when we turned up we were told sternly in the most unsavoury of manners that there was no room for us!!We felt we had to leave due to the way we were treated and spoken to in front of customers and members of staff!!! 30 years of being loyal customers gone down the drain!! Very rude welcome ...not the way to treat customers!!!!

The staff are fab and the food is hot and plenty no skimpy on food be honest when you write and don't morn about every thing until you have tried it yourself

went back for a meal on 21 feb 2019,the place is very clean and welcoming,food was excellent and served within 15 minutes despite there being about 23 people dining, only three staff in restaurant, but they managed to deal with everyone quickly and still remained pleasant,the bbq sauce on their chicken was very nice ,and home cooked chips {not frozen} were great,all in all a very good experience and certainly deserves another visit soon

Called here for a late lunch last Saturday with my wife plus another couple. We arrived probably at the end of the main lunch time around 2 15 place was still a bit busy but found a table no problem. This is a pub with a restaurant room whuch was a nice size warm and welcoming. Bar staff very friendly and service good . Food is your normal pub fayre consisting of your usual steaks, grills curries ect with a nice choice of homemade meals on menu i.e homemade steak pie curry lasagne etc . Good choice of potatoes ,boiled, mash jacket or real chips . Portion size is big food was good and price was very good , we will be back .

Consistent plentiful meals @ great prices, top class. Lovely selection of bar meals served throughout week. Great Sunday lunches too, also @ great price. Full bar selection available, always a good pint. Great staff and service every time.

Came for food here for my 40th birthday with family and friends, there were 24 of us in total..we had a warm welcome and every meal was brought out within minutes of each other and were correct and hot.. the sweet & sour chicken in batter is amazing and the real chips are delicious. Highly recommend this place.

Have not visited this restaurant for a number of years but when returned was not disappointed. Food was lovely with generous portions, staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was nice and clean with a good atmosphere. Plenty of seating which is not visible when you walk in but is past the bar. Food is reasonably priced. Would definitely return and recommend a visit.

We travelled up from Chipping Norton to visit Mother for Mother’s Day and we took her to the Llwyncelyn Hotel for lunch.

My friend and I visited Wednesday for lunch lovely chicken curry rice homemade chips at reasonable price would definitely visit again.

A nice place for a good meal The staff and management team are ever so friendly it's well worth you're time to go and enjoying you're evening if you're staying in the Porth

Friendly staff.limited menu but cooked nicely.avoid corned beef pie as very little corned beef in it.reasonable prices.parking a problem if you have mobility issues

our church has been for a few meals there now... large group of us and staff have managed to get all out meals out on time and all meals were delicious

We went there for my son's 18th birthday. Had a great meal. They decorated the room for us. Staff are fab & very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Will be going again.

Booked for a Friday night at 7.30 in March 2017. Arrived and only one other table being used. Someone camer in from the bar and asked for a plate of chips, but was told they were too busy. One elderly lady serving who didn't quite...

We go here most Sundays. Very good Sunday lunch, big potions. One tip, go early has their very busy.

Went here for my nans 70th birthday. We went down in day to give the staff our banners and they were happy to put them up for us ready for the evening. The waitress was more than helpful with us throughout the night, even got candles for our cake! Very cheap and lovely meals! Will be returning :)

This is a really good place to pop in for a cheap and cheerful Sunday lunch! Always busy because it is good value! Been on a number of occasions and never disappointed!

Great for a good pub meal. All the food is home cooked. Ample portions. Option to eat in the lounge or in the dining room at the back.

We visited as part of a group of 10. The waitress was welcoming friendly. Everything was well organised, food was really good and the price was reasonable. Would highly recommend.

Growing up in Porth I stopped by after many years to sample a pint in the old local. People are friendly and drinks are reasonable, very welcoming to anyone who wants to settle in for a heavy night

Food never disappoints and a great price plenty of selection helpful staff can't do enough for you, sweet and sour chicken balls is deffinitley one to try

We visited this pub for food with family, including younger children and the staff and food were both excellent. I would highly recommend to others.

Visited Monday night for a pre-booked family Birthday celebration. Very warm welcome, very suitably sized room for our party of 37, nice and cosy and a well presented , clean room. Good range of drinks at very good prices (£2.65 pint of bitter, lager£2.85)Extensive menu, again very reasonably priced. We were asked to preorder and that seemed to work very well to everyone's benefit, very little waiting and everything was available. Based on this experience I will certainly call again for a meal.A few drawbacks however, for the number of diners it could have great to have a blitz of supplemented waiting staff to deliver the food more promptly so that we were all dining at the same time. Unfortunately that would probably require an increase in cost!The major drawback is the complete lack of parking, apart from perhaps being lucky with a space on the roadside the nearest public car park is quite a treck. That aside, I would highly recommend the venue for such an occasion and strongly commend the food quality, quantity and taste. Looking forward to my next visit

Great place to watch the rugby world cup. Lovely atmosphere, good beer and nice staff.Been there to watch Wales against Ireland (We won!) Wales against England (We won) so will be going there to watch the rest of the rugby. A good traditional valleys pub with a very good reputation for food as well

We often go to the Llwyncelyn hotel for dinner, especially when we have family with us. It always has a nice atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has improved a great deal in the last 18 months and seems to get a lot of the trade in Porth. We are going back next weekend, with family who always comment on how nice the food is and how reasonably priced.

Traditional welsh valleys pub with separate bar and lounge areas. The bar is good for having a drink and watching sport on the numerous Tv`s dotted around, also a pool table, dart board and regular artists on a weekend.The lounge area is clean, modern and has an excellent varied food menue throughout the week, with a lovely choice of cooked meats on a Sunday lunchtime.Excellent service.

Really nice Sunday dinner but don't really get enough of there is 3 of you. Staff are really nice apart from a few grumpy ones that never look like they want to be there

llwyncelyn restaurant is clean ,staff seem to be unhappy in their work,customer service seems to be a by word and not practiced here,food has continually gone downhill since the previous owners changed hands,very little atmosphere considering its supposed to be a local family pub,meals on menu are never fully available,and what is available generally has a waiting time of 20-40 mnts,if there are more than 6 people you can add another 15 mnts to that ,its a pity because the potential to do a lot better is there but nobody seems to want too.

I often do to the Llwyn for food. Never had a bad meal. Everything is home made and very reasonable. Would 100% recommend this pub! Ticks every box!

As above, the food was lovely (especially the peas and chips!) and very well priced. We usually go here for big family meals. The desserts are worth a try too !

Our first visit to The Llwyncelyn and well worth it. A lovely atmosphere, good staff and good prices.The chips were the best I've tasted. Well worth a return visit.
