The Lloyds Knowle Restaurant in Solihull

Mixed feelings this evening - three of us had a very enjoyable meal - we all had starters (can recommend Tandori Mix) and mains (Lamb Balti with mushroom Bhaji and Peshwari Naan was excellent). Drinks all good. My only disappointment was to be charged £1.50 for my doggy bag - that was a first for me (I usually over-order so that I have lunch for the next day) - won't do that again ,on principle. Shame, but there we go. Staff were pleasant and helpful

Walked in Saturday early evening. Lovely restaurant and pleasant surroundings. Front of house staff extremely welcoming. Food was great and arrived promptly. They gave us an extra poppadom .I was originally ordering a garlic naan and then changed to a plain due to my husband preferring this. The waiter surprised us by bringing a free of charge garlic one as well which was very thoughtful Great service and also to other customers as well.

Forget any negative TripAdvisor reviews from before 2023. This is refined Asian cooking that rewards taking time to savour. The excellent reviews you will read elsewhere reflect the true quality of this restaurant now, in 2024. Abdul and his team create a relaxed but not casual atmosphere, paying attention to detail at every stage. Don't hesitate - go for it.

Noisy when full plus the fast dance music in the background not necessary. Not authentic Indian by a mile but caters to the locals I expect. Service was slow but they were busy, staff were friendly. Lovely poppadoms. My King Prawn dish, Jalfrezi was very very small in comparison to my friend’s chicken dish. Overall not my choice of place for an ‘Indian’. I prefer more authentic food but it was ok.

Four of us ate here. Great atmosphere and not too noisy. Food was great (starters and mains) - I particularly enjoyed the lamb Balti with Peshwari naan. My only negatives were that the side of mushroom bhaji was not particularly large and I was charged for dashes of lime in the lagers. That aside - excellent!! Thank you. And great service too! We'll be back

Visited The Lloyds Indian with my husband yesterday and it was a divine experience. The food was spot on, tasted fantastic and the service was impeccable. Overall an impressive night. Thank you for having us and we can’t wait to return.

The restaurant was very busy, probably because we were in the Christmas period. We booked but had to wait for around 10 minutes for our table. The waiter pressed us to order quickly commenting the table was needed after us. This was despite the delay getting to the table was not our fault. Felt very much we had to eat quickly and that the customers were a nuisance to the staff so wasnt a relaxed evening.

First time coming here and everything was perfect - Lovely meal at a great price and very friendly staff! Will definitely return :)

Just moved to solihull, ordered a takeaway from The Loyds Restaurant was an absolute waste of money. Can make a better curry myself was so disappointed. Will try other restaurants till we find the right one

Visited Lloyds Restaurant recently for a Knowle Parish Church Men's Curry Night. There were 60-70 of us and Lloyds put on a very tasty spread, including poppadoms with the usual trimmings, a starter of tandoori chicken, onion bhaji and salad, and a main course of chicken tikka masala, rice and naan. Very good value and served with courtesy and enthusiasm. Thank you Lloyds!

Was charged for for prawns and korma but only received korma sauce wich was runny and looked disgusting. The owner a very rude and arrogant little man refuses to ever take responsibility that his food is poor and when a customer isn’t given what they paid for. There are other Indian restaurants in knowle wich are far better. Avoid this place at all costs! 0/10

An hour and a half after placing orders starters eventually arrived. Two of the four main meals were incorrect. Staff were unapologetic and claimed we had made a mistake when we ordered. Food was average when it eventually arrived. No discount was offered and we were treated as an inconvenience. I would never return.

The restaurant decor is very modern and kitsch ! The staff were attentive and polite but unfortunately the food was distinctly average. There are a good few Indian restaurants competing with each other in Knowle so I think this one needs to up it’s game....
