The Little Fisherman in Leeds

As we had been to None Go Bye Farm and was going for a walk around Yeadon Tarn we decided we would have a fish butty a piece, Granddaughter and myself, we usually do during 6wks school hols. This chippy never disappoints, lovely fish.

Wouldn’t bother! Went for the special fish as I was very hungry, and my with had a standard fish. The standard was already cooked and under the lights which was fine. It looked half decent with crispy batter. The special are cooked fresh, and “special” its not. The fish is an ok size but the batter was soggy and falling off and it was literally swimming in oil. The already cooked one looked loads better. We also ordered a large chips thinking it would be enough to share, but the portion was pathetic. What you see in the pic was the special with a large chips. Joke, and wish I went up the road.

The fish & Chips here are the best in Yorkshire by far. Don’t go to the big one up the road? Drop in here you won’t be disappointed.

Simply excellent. Large special small chips and mushy peas less than £8. Much cheaper than others nearby. Fish was perfectly cooked and I thoroughly enjoyed all of it. For sure I will be back. Note they close at 8 not 9 as Indicated by Trip.

We have the fish and chips and a fish cake and another fish and mushy peas most Saturdays now but my fish today was so thin I'm not sure what it was and it was tasteless. My husband's fish was beautiful and thick as it should always be. Mine could not have been haddock.

Quality fish and chips at a good price. Flavoursome fish and nice chips. Value for money. I’d recommend to anyone. Friendly staff too.

If you want Fish and chips like they used to taste when you were young then this is the place for you. Just reminds me of my childhood eating out of the paper. Possibly they cook the old way with beef dripping I am not sure but what ever it is, then just keep doing it. Great to see a local chippy doing well. One more thing, I didn’t mention the price, at least a couple of quid cheaper than another bigger fish shop just up the road!

Always a small queue - it is just a traditional chippy which does everything well! So glad it’s my local! Try it!

Wow what a fantastic quality meal from a traditional fish and chip shop . I am so impressed. After a short wait we ordered Fish and Chips, Peas, Scallops, and beautiful Scraps. Served fresh and piping hot they were excellent. I visit a number of fish and chip shops as we have a chip mad son! I can’t praise The Little Fisherman highly enough simply superb.

This is a jewel, we were staying at the Premiere Inn Hotel in Yeadon, and looking for a takeaway. We decided to try The Little Fisherman instead of using the big company one across the road and were glad we did. Not a big menu, but what they did, they did extremely well. My wife had fish and chips and mushy peas, and I had a special and chips. No exaggeration these were the best fish and chips I have tasted, and I live in Margate sobelive me I have had lots of fish and chips. If you are in the area try these fish and chips.

Went today for a quick lunch as a working guy. It's difficult eating in a van. Things that were to much trouble. 1 Box big enough that the foods not falling out of it. 2 Cut the sausage in half so it fits in small box. 3 separate pot for sauce. 4 Plastic fork. ( Got charged 5p!!! On my card for the use of one of these.) The attitude of one of the counter staff was, "just could not care less, everything is to much trouble."

Thought I would just let everybody know that the food is still as excellent as ever and in this covid era they have got an excellent protection screen in place between staff and customers, they only allow one customer in at a time which also enhances customer and staff safety. Well done, will continue to enjoy our favourite take away meal of Fish'n'Chips from here for hopefully a long time to come.

Called in for fish n chips on way home . Have eaten from here before and will continue to do so. Quality fish n chips at sensible prices unlike some other establishments in yeadon!

After a few good reviews from friends,i decided to try this fish shop. Upon entering the shop during my long extremely warm shift as a healthcare worker,i was looked up and down by the female server and then she looked away disgusted. I ordered my fish & chips with her,she did not say a word to me (extremely rude customer service) she took my money and stormed off into the back. I was served my fish & chips and i left feeling less than amused. The actual fish was ok but the chips were seriously undercooked. I will not be returning again

Myself and my husband come to this little fish and chip shop has this local little business needs to keep going and the fish and chips are lovely and good value for money and we need to make sure little business stay around.

Nice food which is not overpriced. Worth queing for :) Wish that they opened later. They close at 9.00pm....used to be 11.30 pm for fish and chips to close when I was younger.

Conduzco por muchas otras tiendas de pescado y papas fritas para llegar hasta aquí. Precios bajos y pescado y papas fritas de primera calidad. Si tienes hambre o tienes un gran apetito pide un especial. Todo cocinado en manteca. El eficiente y amable personal sirve siempre buena comida.

Best fish and chips in the area, and reasonable priced as well. Queues outside most of the time are testament to this.

El pescado es bueno y las patatas fritas son sabrosas. El personal es encantador La tienda es tan pequeña que la gente suele hacer cola afuera.

The Little Fisherman Yeadon is a fantastic place to get fresh fish and chips. Parking outside can be difficult but the fish and chips are well worth it.

Ordered 2 fish and chips 2 battered sausages and chips. Told fish would be 7 minutes. No problems. There were 2 sausages in the heater.

If your hungry, and in the yeadon area, don’t waste your money on crap food at the white swan, especially now rats have been spotted there, eat at the little fisherman chippy, so much better than the white swan

What an hidden jem great fish & chips and great value for the money probably the best in Yeadon, good choice of food on the menu.

Love my visits to Yeadon especially to enjoy my fish supper. Outstanding, Tasty, reasonably priced, Clean, nice chatty Staff only bad point the bottle of ketchup, Change the brand .

top notch food . Affordable and way better than the big chain restaurants up the road . recommended by a friend and not disappointed. Will be going again when needed . Will not be going elsewhere .

Great fish and chips every time! Reasonably priced. If you want a special say as soon as you get in the door for quick efficient service.

How traditional can you get other than this little fish and chip takeaway. There is barely enough room to squeeze inside and the cooking is done right in front of you. It is quaint, it is simple and the food is really nice.

Great Fish and Chip shop with a nice selection on the menu, the fish is top class and the prices are extremely reasonable, well worth a visit.

THIS IS THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS ANYWHERE IN BRITAIN..... I have lived in many different parts of this ace country so have alot of chippy experience..

My advice to anyone hungry if drinking at the top of yeadon which would only be two places , yeadon stoops or the white swan, check if the little fisherman is open and go there, best local chippy for miles, better than what you'll pay for at the two mentioned places by a country mile ,

The sign outside is bigger than the shop but it is well worth a visit. With only room for about five people queuing this shop is one of the smallest fish & chips shops I have visited. The regular fish is beautiful but if you want a larger portion call out for a "special" as soon as you enter the shop. Everything is fried within minutes of your being served and tastes wonderful. There is no seating!

Just called in for some food on the go....wonderful fish n chips...friendly staff...great value...very satisfied..will be calling back for sure...

The best fish and chips going in the area, second to none. The fish is always battered and cooked well and is always good value for money.

Can't fault this place. The fish and chips are just right, and they sell dandelion and burdock to go with it.Can be a little cramped inside to queue, but it's well worth it!

love this fish and chip plaice, everyone might think the big one on the corner is the best but it isn't by far. this place has it hands down for customer service product quality and value for money.why waste your time going up th road when you can have a better quality product closer to yeadon.Even if your in the area plane stopping drop in here, you be glad you did.

Called here last week when our regular shop was closed and really glad we did. We ordered specials and chips and they were excellent, wonderfully cooked and really tasty with proper chips, not scraggy ends that you get at some places and reasonably priced as well, will definitely be coming back for more, very soon.Would highly recommend this Fish'n'Chip Shop.
