Food was amazing and the gravy was so nice

My favourite chippy hands down, always consistently good. The fish is cooked so fresh and chips are proper chippy chips. Great portion sizes and even better if you go on a Tuesday/Wednesday when they have a deal on!

Really friendly staff. Consistently providing a good level of service. Tasty food. I usually get the small fish and chips. Always tasty and fresh. Please try it for yourself. Now open in the afternoon/evenings which is great.

Fish supper was very tasty, gravy was delicious too. I’ll definitely make this my go to dinner when I’m in Cheadle staying at the Village Hotel.

Just walked in and asked for meat and potato pie, chips and peas on a tray with gravy. Got home and there was no gravy. Spoiled the meal completely. Could not see what she was putting on the pie and chips as she has her back to you when putting the peas and gravy on, and she had closed the tray before she had turned back to me!!

Chips left to go cold on counter whilst fish is being cooked. Chips cold, fish overcooked. Very disappointed as usually gluten free fish is ok. Male staff quite rude tonight. Left wondering if under new ownership .

I've tried this place so many times but i've never had a decent portion of chips from here, or when they were round the corner. The chips are cooked on such low heat that they still taste like raw potato. This works well on the fish but not the chips. I've never managed to eat a portion, always end up throwing them away.

Fish was tasty and fresh The portion size of the chips were a big let down. Ordered a large for c. £3.50 and as you can see from the picture it was what I would consider a medium portion. Peas were nice but a bit runny. Personally, like a slightly thicker consistency. Spicy curry was nice could’ve been a little spicier. For c £13.50 I’m not sure I would go back with the chip portion being that size for a large. I wasn’t that full.

We have been coming here for many years now and have never been disappointed. It’s always a treat to have fish and chips, something we really look forward to. The fish is always very fresh and perfectly cooked in light crispy batter and the chips are great too. They do remarkable special deals throughout the week at lunchtime and on some weekdays all day. I live locally to a lot of chippys and honestly I drive to here because we’ll firstly it’s the best chippy in cheadle, the staff are always polite and welcoming I’d definitely recommend 😄

The fish and chips is ok but every time I come here on their offer days I don’t feel comfortable even though I buy allot to feed a big family. the owners make you feel as if they are doing YOU a huge favor! They roll their eyes nearly every time I’ve been there! Customer service is half the experience, if not more, so if you don’t want the custom I suggest you close, if anything you should be grateful a customer is choosing to come to your establishment rather than going elsewhere

Mozzarella sticks! You read that right, not something you normally associate with a chippy, but after someone walked past me with some delicious smelling chips, I had to go and track them down. When I did, I saw mozzarella sticks on the menu and just couldn't resist. Four little fingers of heavenly bliss.

Nice food but the prices are ridiculous £8.01 ive just paid for chips sausage and curry and a single sausage not only that my last order i asked for curry sauce and got given gravy

Worst customer service was given food that was raw. When i reached out I was offered a refund and to come back when I did was told to bring proof and now I’ve got food poisoning. DONT ORDER FROM HERE

When I got food from a this chippy I was charged for chips that weren’t cooked and sausages that were hard. I hoped the shop back straight away and was told to come in the next day and I would receive a refund or the same meal free of charge. It came to the next day I was told to bring the raw food with me as proof. Will definitely not go back there. One start is being generous worse experience and food I’ve had

Prices extortionate for the ridiculous portion sizes. Fish was tiny, absolutely not worth £6. Food itself tasted fine - no better or worse than your average fish and chip shop. Won’t be returning as there are more reasonably priced places nearby

Very tasty fish and chips, they do a very good value midweek deal Monday to Wednesday which is 2fish,1 large chips and a large side for £12 it feeds the family.

Always clean, always friendly, always nice chips (and everything else). I actually drive here from my own village as a little treat.

Unfortunately I've just wasted 9 quid on a childs portion of chips and a medium portion (at best not a large) oh with curries on top and a sausage. The bloke who sits outside Tesco who I presume is homeless would turn his nose up at that being a substantial meal, wouldn't feed a family of ants. Apart from that curry tasted nice, and that's about it. THANKS

Asked for salt, but for it not to be murdered. Way too salty, probably shortened my lifespan by eating it. I need a pint of water with it to be able to eat it. God knows how much salt you get if you don't even specify. Underneath the salt, food is ok!

Nice food, but very small portions. The fish I got this evening must have come out of somebody's fish tank and the large chips would be a regular size chips anywhere else.. Great to visit if you're on a diet.

Went there on Friday 23/10 for sausage chips and mild curry sauce. Was warned that the curry sauce looked a bit off but had it anyway. Ended up getting severe food poisoning. Will NEVER go there again

This is a lovely little takeaway, top quality fish, and on Saturday they offer gluten free batter on the fish which is great for me as I am coeliac. Good portions, good quality, and good prices. I recommend it highly. It doesnt have a restaurant, it is just a lovely little chippy. As it's name suggests. If you arent local to Cheadle it is opposite the main post office, in the road opposite St Mary's Church.

I have rejoined since their mon-wed offer 2 fish 1 large chips 1 peas for £10. Not visited in a while but its just as excellent as previous. We tried gatley chippy and wythenshawe both decent but this one is still the best. Always excellent fish... Thinking of doing it twice a week with the offer on! Bravo guys xx

We all fancied fish and chips and so pleased we choose this one. All our dishes were lovely. Would recommend.

Fish was very good. Fried while we waited but the chips were cold and not fresh. Fish 5 star Chips 2 star.

Wow. We've been meaning to go here for sometime and we were not disappointed! My wife and I ordered 2 fish and chips and they cooked the fish and chips in separate oil in a separate fryer due to dietary requirements. We walked back to our office which is 20 mins away and even then the food still tasted fresh. The soggy chips full of flavour and the crispy bits full of flavour and the fish was soft and delicious! Love businesses like this, highly recommended!

I love the gluten free fish and chips on Saturday. They are the best fish and chips I have tasted. I request a small portion as I am on my own. I drive from Hazel Grove to Cheadle for them. Very accommodating staff. Brilliant. Well done and thank you for catering for those of us who need to be gluten free.I will definitely be back again on Saturday.

First visit and both the food and service were great. 1 X gluten free fish (cod) and chips and 1 X regular. I'll be back!

I have eaten here half a dozen times since moving to the area and it's been consistently delicious. Beautiful fish - I ask for mine lightly battered and well done - it's been on the money every time. Even the base is crispy! Lovely food and very nice staff as well.

There are a lot of good chippies in Manchester but his has to be the best. Do not leave without a crispy cod, fabulous. The chips are not bad either with a touch of spicy curry sauce.

I decided to treat my 87 year old mother for lunch so ordered (gluten free) fish and chips on Saturday the 9th of November. My son picked them up for me. When I opened them up, I was disgusted. There was very little (dry and stale) fish and an abundance of oily, crusty batter. I did telephone the restaurant but there was no reply. I most certainly WILL NOT be buying fish and chips from them again!

Called in here whilst passing through Cheadle, the place is small but while we were waiting for our fish to be cooked there was an endless flow of custom. We both had chips and shared a fish which was one of the best I have ever had and at 65 I have had a few. We are going back today and this time we will not be sharing anything. The chips by the way were tasty and plentiful and I had the Chinese curry which was also very moorish.

Have to say how impressed I was with this small fish and chips shop just off the high Street in Cheadle. Quality ingredients quality better quality service what more can you ask for. Will definitely be back

The fish was very well cooked, perfection. The chips were freshly fried (as was the fish) And together made a very enjoyable Friday evening meal and must not forget the peas, well you cannot go wrong we 'chippy' peas can you 😁

Absolutely love this "plaice" (little joke there sorry) I cant get enough of the pies (doesn't matter which), I've never had any problems with the portion of chips that I received and the majority of the staff that greet me when I've been are friendly & helpful too ☺☺ All that being said tho, I personally believe the prices could be a little lower considering this is the only proper Chip Shop in the centre of Cheadle.

After looking for the best fish and chips shop in south manchester for quite a while, I've finally hit the jackpot! This is by far the best fish and chips in Manchester. The fish is superb: crispy batter, light and delicious. The chips are cooked to perfection: fresh, crispy and thick chippy chips. No sogginess at all. The Mushy Peas are awesome. The staff are friendly. Amazing little chippy!

A small fish and chip shop nestled snuggly in Cheadle village. This chippy serves excellent fish and chips at very reasonable prices, there is a great discount deal to be had on Wednesdays for OAP’s, no proof of age required! Recommended establishment, would definitely come back here again.

If your visiting the uk, and people keep saying chippy, this is the place to go! also good to go grab a snack, nice staff!

We prefer gluten free battered fish but this chippy only does gf fish on Saturdays. But they made us fresh fish with light rice flour coating which in my opinion was better than regular batter or gf batter! We recommend they add this to their regular menu as a lighter alternative to normal battered fish. Lemon slice was a welcomed touch and always improves the flavour of fish and improved with digestion so thank you!

Really nice but very expensive! Got fish and chips x2 and 1 mushy peas and was almost £15! Would of been cheaper to get a takeaway and have it delivered! Was nice but too overpriced for a chippy tea.

Been a couple of times and the Fish has been out of this world. They say that the quality and taste is good in Whitby but this was far better than that..First class in taste. Next time I visited my Son I will visit the shop.
