Mr Chips in Stockport

We ordered Fish and Chips, sausage and chips twice (FOOT LONG LOVELY TASTY SAUSAGES!) a curry sauce and a gravy and three barm cakes. The order was delivered in the quickest time possible. Amazing quality food that was piping hot! The delivery driver was amazing and polite with a lovely smile. The person who took my order on the phone was spectacular and I could tell they just enjoy serving great food. Mr Chips is an amazing eatery in Marple. If you’re looking for a great takeaway in Marple, or food ideas in Marple, then fish and chips from Mr Chips is highly recommended. Thank you Mr Chips!

2nd time we’ve ordered, last Tuesday the fish was superb and succulent, with lovely golden crispy batter, and the chips were perfect, so we ordered the same again today. Unfortunately, the fish was a bit dry, the batter was grey and the chips really soggy. It was as if we’d ordered from a different chippy. Very average.

My family love mr chips. Food freshly made, always hot and the fish and chips are perfect every time.

I had scampi and chips from Mr Chips this week. These are the best chips in Marple by FAR! The scampi I had was awesome just hit the spot as I did not want a huge (but lovely fish!). I have also had Mr Chips scallops and these make my mouth water!!!!

Hands down the best fish and chips for miles around - the best we’ve ever had. Apart from the brilliant food there is always a big smile and great service from Mr Chips himself. Highly recommend - very happy!

I’ve had food from here so many times and I’m always loved it. Great quality and fresh via Stockport Eats. Mr Chips…chips are not greasy and are exactly what you would expect. Ad the fact that the packaging is eco friendly you have the best chips possible - this pleases me as I was able to feed my children with confidence. If you’re looking for quality fish and chips from an English Chippy then don’t think twice deliver and being in central Marple is just perfect. Love it!

First time using this chippy since my usual imposed a minimum order. Had the chicken breast, chips and peas and it was delicious. Took less than the advertised time to be delivered by a lovely lady. Will be using again. Thank you Mr Chips!

The large cod fits on a plate from one side to the other and is really nice. The delivery service on "Just eat" works well and comes on time. Well worth trying.

Was passing this village and came across this place. honestly can't rate it enough, the chips have to be the nicest chippy chips I've ever tasted. The curry just leaves your mouth watering. My boys had the fish pieces. Portion sizes were huge and the guy who runs it is as friendly as they come. Really well priced for the area. Lots of special deals for certain days/nights etc. I will DEFINITELY be visiting again soon!!! Only downside for me is that it isn't near my house or I'd be a weekly regular. Top marks Mr Chips 👍👍👍

But not fabulous..paying £3.00 for delivery plus a service charge is really retaking the mick for average-ish chip shop food, not great value for money

We decided to have a chippy tea on Christmas eve, so decided to go to Mr.Chips. It was really busy, as Wayne is now taking orders via Just Eat also, during the pandemic. Our food was really tasty. My mum and I had fish and chips and it was lovely. Happy New Year, and thank you.

A really nice English Chippy, that is open at lunchtimes and tea. Many don't do that anymore. Very reasonably priced, and food always nicely cooked.

We have had our fish & chips for the fourth time & counting from Mr Chips. We can not fault a thing. Always fresh,tasty & served with a smiling face. Thank you Wayne .

I use to go in this chippy back in the 70s and this was the first time back for many a year. Met the owner and he is a very nice man plus the food was very good. I had a large fish & chips and it was well worth the visit. Going here took me back to my childhood new owners but still very high quality food and service. They take telephone orders so when you arrive no hanging around and because of covid you had to wait outside. Next time I visit this chippy it won’t be a gap of years as it was very enjoyable. See my pictures it’s set right in the middle of Marple just off market street on derby way. Keep up the good work and well done.

Great service with a smile!Phoned ahead to order kids boxes for a socially distanced kids birthday gathering. All the food was ready when we arrived, we were able to eat outside and had great service with a smile = happy children and parents. Good fish and chips at a good price too. Slushies are available too and who doesn’t love a slushie!

Fabulous fabulous fabulous. If you want a chippy tea then look no further. Great choice value and taste from mine host. I date you not to try it

I gave been visiting Mr Chips for tge last couple of years and I am never disappointed. Always fresh with lovely crisp batter. Wayne is welcoming and clearly knows his craft. In addition to the gorgeous freshly made fish and chips, there is the usual offering of pies, spam fritters (a particular favourite of mine) milkshakes, meal deals and for the more adventurous of us deep fried cream eggs and jaffa cakes! Keep up the good work Wayne

This place is like a home from home. Wayne, the owner makes your feel welcome and special from the get go. He makes your food to order - it really is the best! I’m from Newcastle and haven’t had better. Some seats outside to enjoy the sun and enjoy some conversation with Wayne. Great food, lovely reception - what more could you ask for.

I’ve tried most chip shops in Marple and Mr Chips is by far the best, I’ve been in today and I couldn’t praise the lovely guy behind the till enough, I ordered a couple of meal deals for family tea, foot long sausage meal deal and fish deal, plenty of gravy and plenty of peas and you even get a free can! Will definitely go again and recommend to my family and friends, he clearly takes pride in his work!

Seems to have changed hands ? - overall nice fish and chips and situated right in the centre of marple. Can be busy at certain times over lunch when students are on their lunch break

Best chippy for miles , always a lovely smile and brilliant service from this great little proper chippy, brilliant offers too would recommend in an instant. Everything freshly cooked and nothing too much trouble just ask and it will be done, even cater for the healthier people out there ! Loads of choice and all very tasty well ! done your hard work shows !

We use this chip shop regularly now because it's so expensive to buy fish and chips for the family now but the guy that has this seems to be very switched on - he does really good deals and also nothing was too much trouble. Fussy kids but they got everything right and were really great. Food is tip top, good quality and fish was absolutely gorgeous! Give them a go, we did and now we travel to here, it's easier and worth it!!

Just glad it’s not in my doorstep!!!! Sorry Wayne but your chips are too nice luckily I live about 3 miles away so have them when I visit Marple. Wayne has cracked it here his chips are not too dry or not too greasy just right his oil is clean as any good chip coniseur would know. His dish is fresh and beautiful and again he’s cracked the batter game as it’s just right in fact Wayne I think you should set up a chip shop school and teach chip shop owners how to cook fish and chips properly!!!Local business that deserves lots of recognition.

Fabulous place to go for a Friday night tea after a long week at work. Fish was battered in front of me and fried to order. Big portions of chips, which was good as they are so moreish. Got 2 fish and chips and the kids had 2 kids meal deal which was great. They couldn't wait to get home to eat their chicken nuggets, so they had them in the car. Price was reasonable. Good value.The guy serving us was very friendly with great customer service skills, very chatty, he even got me to buy a potato scallop as I waited. Lol. Great with loads of vinegar. Will definitely return.

By far the best chippy in Stockport! Traditional chippy with a few twists and fantastic deals. Chips are always hot and fresh and the Irish curry sauce is amazing! The only thing better is the service Recommended to a few friends who now travel from as far as Bredbury, Offerton ect rather than their local. They also catered for a bridal 'chippy brunch" for us not long ago and there were smiles all round.

We go to this yummy chippy for friday tea everyweek!! The fish is really well cooked with crispy batter, the chips are freash and not greasy, and the staff in there are always so friendly and speedy!!! Would recommend this chippy to anyone who loves good English fish and chips. Xx

Not the best. Tasteless fish in soggy batter chips OK and solid peas. Much better places in Marple. Get lots of student offers to keep it going.
