Smashing little place. You’re not going to get 5 star foods and fancy plating but you’re getting a very decent meal in a clean and comfortable environment with excellent service from kind and friendly staff. The carvery is smashing. The chef serving there is lovely and helpful Good choice in both the carvery and general menu. Lovely selection of cakes in the chiller Recommended!

We stop here every few months when driving up or down the M1 for something to eat on a long journey and charge our electric car. Usually we have a good experience, but this time less so. We entered the restaurant, which was busy, a sign said choose a table and order at the bar. My wife picked an empty table and was rudely shouted at by the barman, saying the table was taken. No indication of anyone having claimed the table and no “sorry, that table is taken”. We picked another table that was empty, same rude reply. So we picked a third empty table and finally were allowed to sit down. Food was good and table service okay, but left with a bad memory after being rudely shouted at across the bar. Not sure if we will bother returning when there are so many other options to choose from.

I absolutely love heading to the little castle for a cozy carvery! The food is just as good as what mum makes, which is a real treat. Just a little tip—make sure to book a table, especially on Sundays when it gets really busy! You know how popular the best places can be!

I was sent a discount voucher had nothing in for dinner and booked a table. Arrived at venue and asked for a table for two and showed booking reference. Ordered food and drink, paid using cashless and showed discount voucher. Everything fine good food and venue. Staff attentive and polite. Good experience had by both my partner and I. Will return in future.

Absolutely cracking Liv our waitress was very attentive and always smiling! We had our dog with us he was spoilt with treats a bowl of water and lots of fuss! The food was great apart from a mix up with my son getting a small plate for his carvery when we ordered a regular non of us realised until he put his plate next to ours!

The food was good and the staff erre friendly. The discount voucher for 30%off made our bill very reasonable.

Busy with it being a Sunday, but service was great, Tyron made sure to check on us asking if the food was to our satisfaction, cleaned our plates with in minutes of us finishing (when we’ve been to other places we could be sat there ages until our table is clear) however this was not the case. Excellent customer service by Tyron. Table was allocated to us and was perfectly close to the child area so we could still keep an eye on my two.

Went on speck for Sunday Carvery and although they were fully booked they found us a table for 2 which we could have for 1.1/2 hrs so service was very good as was the carvery would definitely recommend.

Lovely food, family friendly and good value.

The staff are very friendly and when I said the food I ordered was wrong I was given the extra chicken that was missing and told to keep the ribs that I received by mistake. Amanda was great and made the experience relaxing and enjoyable.

Nice food and good value for money. Myself and my friend come hear regularly and we have always had good food. The menu is good and we had two takeaway pieces of cake enjoyed it when we got home and it was really lovely.we.ll definitely better back soon.thank you Amanda+livx

What happened to customers are always right 😆 if you really want to keep your customers I suggest you don’t give cheeky comments to them! And don’t let your management be so blunt when you’re requesting something pretty simple? The food was crap anyway and we won’t be coming back any time soon. FYI I’ve worked in customer service and I understand that to keep customers happy you have to bend over backwards for them… maybe like getting someone to actually fix something so simple as the fryer. We went today and sat out front with our dog, initially just for a drink but we ended up having a weekday dinner time carvery as the price was so good and it did not disappoint! Probably one of the best carvery’s I’ve had! The gammon just melted in your mouth, roasties were great and not dry and they have the BEST cauliflower cheese I’ve ever tasted! Was also told it’s dog friendly inside which I think is great! All staff we’re very lovely too, 100% be returning for more carvery’s

What can I say……. Outstanding!! The service and the food was excellent, we could not find a fault, as always everything was absolutely spot on. Well done to all the staff who work so hard to provide a very enjoyable experience.

We had a lovely carvery for 5 of us which we all enjoyed.

Used this venue many times in the past. It Used to be five star for me, but. Now the carvery especially has dropped to one star. The only reason I've given three stars is the service at the bar was very good. We haven't been here for a while because everything the quality of everything food, service the lot dropped to rock bottom. Don't know what you've done but. Keep doing it. We've given five stars after our visit on Saturday 3rd of August for our Granddaughter's birthday. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Service behind the bar was very slow. The restaurant was clearly full and staff with 4 people simply wasn't enough. Food for the kids wasn't as stated in the menu. The chicken burger for children came as southern fried and was too spicy, menu states buttermilk chicken. Also there are 2 options for the tomato pasta but I wasn't asked which portion size I wanted and I was automatically given the small one. Menu states 2 pieces of garlic bread and carrot sticks, we received no carrot sticks and only 1 piece of garlic bread.

My aunt and uncle, both in their 80’s were visiting from Nottingham and I brought them for lunch. On arrival they said how nice it looked and how spacious, not being too close to neighbouring tables. My uncle and I had the carvery, and my aunt chose from the menu. My aunt asked if she could swap the peas from her meal for red cabbage from the carvery and was really pleased when this was agreed. I have visited many times and really enjoy the food, my aunt and uncle were really impressed with the venue, the food and the service and have said they would like to come again when they next come up. Overall a great experience.

Food is excellent and so are the drinks. A vast improvement from our first visit 15 months ago, service was first class and quick. Staff were friendly and attentive, could not fault them 👍 And it's dog friendly

worst atmosphere ever , the staff watch you like hawks and they are all creepy and not polite except for a single worker. not a single smile was given from a staff member except for a lass who gave us our drinks. food was good however it was hard to enjoy it without feeling watched the beef tasted like corned beef. the peas were peas , the carrots were hard and tastless. the gravy was cheap store tasting. however the gammon was amazing. it would be a good place if the staff weren't so irritatingly watchful

Sue who was our direct server was lovely and really attentive, found the lady at the carvery helpful. However when there was a problem with our drinks order the staff at the bar were very unhelpful and one lady in particular was very rude.

Couldn’t fault our visit to the Little Castle, highly recommended. . Extra praise for Sue, whose customer service is first class.

We visited for the second time because the food is plentiful and warm, Sunday Carvery for 5 and the staff are friendly and helpful. You can time it to avoid the queues for the carvery. Two of our party ordered from the menu and indicated that they would order the meals again in the future.

Great for a group or family get together as there were plenty of larger tables. Plenty of parking and a play park for younger guests too.

Absolutely excellent meal and dessert at Little Castle today. We were made to feel very welcome by Amanda and Vicky. Top quality customer service provided and they never stopped, always on top of everything and kept everywhere spotless. Me and my husband both had a carvery and the food was beautiful, thank you to Nathan and Grace for cooking everything to perfection. Really lovely atmosphere too. Definitely recommend the chocolate brownie sundae if you can fit it in! Overall a fantastic experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you

The carravery was terrible no meat only dried out scraggy ends and poor and tired vegetables customet service was terrible, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We had a fantastic meal at Little castle , and a huge part of that was thanks to Sue, who looked after us so well. She was warm, friendly, and incredibly patient with the kids, making sure they had everything they needed and even bringing a few extra smiles to the table! It’s not always easy dining out with little ones, but Sue made the experience so much more enjoyable. The food was great, but the service was even better.

Originally not living in the area we found this place by accident. Since September we have visited here on several occasions whilst going up & down the M1. Sarah & Jake made us so welcome on our first visit even though we had a large Alaskan Malamute with us. Not many places except dogs but The Little Castle was exceptional with us all. We now make it our number ONE destination to stop for a meal here as we find everything from the service, food quality to friendliness of all the staff outstanding. I would definitely recommend it for anyone, whether it's for family, friends or a welcome stop on your travels.

Supposedly food service ends at 9pm, according to the website. We arrived at 8:10 and was told the kitchen was closed. 😡

Good welcome and able to choose where we wanted as it was quiet We felt the drinks were quite expensive 2 Guinness, 1 tonic water and I fruit shoot over £18 ? The food was good on the whole however my husband sirloin steak was not very good really chewy We would have had carvery but to be honest it was looking dry,the staff were adding water to it .

The staff are really friendly and happy to help if we have any questions about the menu. We have been to several similar establishments in our area, however we always find our way back to The Little Castle. Bravo to the staff for being so friendly and helpful.

Went on a Sunday afternoon for a family get together. Booked a table for 10 and were shown straight to our table, all good so far. We ordered our food in 3 separate lots (3 households) when the food arrived there were 4 dishes that were incorrect, 2 sides missing altogether & no sauces. I had the steak Manhattan, rare to medium, my plate came with an 8oz. slab of grissle covered in cheese and BBQ sauce. I took it home and even the dog wouldn't eat it. Terrible service & not great food, IMO please avoid.

Warm festive feeling for a family Christmas meal Table was set for a festive meal Starters to mains and desserts was all lovely staff were very welcoming and enthusiastic

Today I was served what I can say the most pathetic meal I have eaten. Please avoid the hunter’s chicken because when I enquired from the male staff member why it was half a chicken breast, rubbery tiniest bacon and a few chips his response was ‘it comes as it is’. No polite response or a simple apology. For more than £13 it was unbelievable. The kids meal came with a frozen corn on the cob; we all laughed though it was not funny. As for the burgers, we all agreed that its a place to avoid.
