Cracking little pub with proper ales and friendly staff/customers. Dog friendly.

Ok I'm going to make a bit of a statement here, this is the nicest ale house in Harrogate. Stunning little place and very interesting. They had a few nice beers on and we enjoyed the nice little beer garden they have, you can also sit up front or down in the cellar. We'll Definity be returning for more beer.

This is a superb little pub, serving a wonderful array of ales, beers and other alcholic drinks from the local region and wider a field. Being a real ale lover this is a bit of a haven. Its cramped but then its warming on a cold winters evening

Visiting from the US you imagine what pubs in England would be like. Usually it's nothing what you expected. This place is a must visit. Small quaint pub that you can find strolling through town. The downstairs and patio areas are a must see. So for great beer great service and a great atmosphere you must try this place. Warning that it can get very crowded.

Great place, has a wonderful ourdoor area

Lovely bar maid with amazing knowledge on the beers this little place had to offer. It's small and quaint. But with 2 beer gardens and loads of liquid choice, it's well worth a visit.

Best real ale pub in Harrogate (that we found). The ales change regularly all excellent choices. The wine was also very good quality. Very dog friendly.

Fantastic place, really great selection of beers and ales with a great atmosphere. Made really good use of the space which has a great atmosphere but at the same time feels cosy. Will deffo be returning next time we're down that way.

Excellent bar. It is absolutely worth a visit as the drinks are top notch at reasonable prices. Would definitely recommend.

An extensive range of products - we were there for cask for me - though my wife wasn't as keen on the lager options. We found the basement and joined a conversation (as we do up north!) though it was rammed on a Fridsy at 9:30.

First visit to the Little Ale House wen on holiday in Harrogate, beer was great as was the staff and service and buzzing atmosphere. Small but load of character, would deffo recommend a visit but get there early if you need a seat x

Obscured entrance, nice old fashioned wooden interior with kegs and pipes everywhere - very steam punk! Nice craft ales - recommended, but small and busy!!

To use a well worn cliche, it does what it says on the tin. The Little Ale House is (unsurprisingly) small but has charm, this is a cozy place that wears its age on its sleeve. The beer selection (also unsurprisingly) is solid. Clearly it has its fans too, we arrived 30 minutes after it opened to find every seat with a bottom on it - it’s a well heeled crowd too, but then again this is Harrogate. Recommended…..if you can squeeze in.

Nice small real-ale bar, serving a very good pint of beer. Had a selection - 5 at a guess - on tap with a good choice of range from stout to summer ale.

Popped in here at the end of a rainy day wandering in Harrogate. Small, perfectly formed and with a great selection of beers on tap and a few bottles examples. Dog friendly, and busy when we visited.

Such a chilled out little hideaway in the centre of town, has a great selection of wine and beer including a red favourite of mine: Sicilian passimiento. Always a laid back atmosphere with candlelight in the evenings and a cosy beer garden. Staff are lovely and friendly too. Definitely a go to place for a relaxing drink away from the mayhem of some of the other bars in town

It's always a great place to visit. Bar staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Real fire warming the place. Good selection of different beers and other drinks. Although it is little; it's in the name, they do have a beer to suit every taste.

Possibly my favourite bar in town! Very cosy and quirky offering some fine ales locally and afar! The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and you’ll never be disappointed to enjoy your time there. A lovely warm fire is lit in the colder months and the courtyard, front patio offers a delightfully relaxing atmosphere. Perfect for our curry club before we indulge in the local spice house!

We loved everything about this little gem, from upstairs to downstairs, an excellent range of tasty beers and friendly staff, patrons and pooches. Everyone should have a local like this.

After a day of experiencing York, we decided to go back to the AirBnb in Harrogate and head out. We were advised by the server at the Stuzzi restaurant to go to this place. Chalk board full of beers with tables in the cellar to discuss life over! Very charming

Busy and popular wee place when we visited so not a lot of seating remaining but we weren't there to sit, but went for the beer, which did not dissapoint.

We visit Harrogate probably twice per year and the Little Ale House is the first place we aim for. Excellent beer good atmosphere and near many good restaurants. Well worth a visit if you prefer excellent draught ales served in a cracking pup.

It really us a little ale House. Very small with limited seating although there was a cellar room open. Reasonable selection of craft beers available along with a goid array of spirits too.

Possibly my favourite place to drink in Harrogate. Super friendly staff, always a great atmosphere. Great selection of keg and cask. Looking forward to my return in December.

Superbly kept ales and friendly service - one of the very best ale pubs I’ve visited recently and really enjoyed my afternoon enjoying the drinks and ambience.

Popped in for a first visit on Wednesday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised at the laid back welcoming atmosphere. The friendly barman poured me the perfect pint of Saltaire Blonde which was enjoyed in the sunny beer yard at the back which was a joy. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town

Great selection of real ale from across the UK. All the beers are well looked after and are in fantastic condition.

The place is a haven. The atmosphere is ideal. Like stepping back in time. The service is great with a sincere, friendly and knowledgeable staff and owners. The ales, porters, stouts etc are are the best quality. The whisky board has a great selection as are the excellent wines. A real gem.

First visit after recommendation. Great beer at reasonable prices. Barman friendly and helpful. Like what they have done to the place. Dog friendly even though ours weren't with us. Parking on meters or plenty of muti story.

Super friendly tap rooms in the centre of Harrogate. Great front and back courtyards and cosy inside area. Large variety of beers on tap with other drinks available too. Thoroughly recommend for beer lovers, looks like it’s been in the Good Beer Guide for many years in a row!

Love coming here, me and my boyfriend visit with out dog when I'm up to visit and we always we make time to visit the little ale house. One of our favourite pubs in the country and maybe out dogs absolute favourites. We frequently struggle to get a table because it busy but somebody frequently offers up spare chairs. We do actually really enjoy sitting down in the cosy cellar. Beer always great, love their own and trying others. Staff always, always friendly, and so warm and welcoming. I'd be gutted if my boyfriend moves away, if we did I'd have to come back just for the little ale house.

Warm, inviting, classy, understated and quite simply has a lovely 'personal' feel, Most places strive for an ambience like this and fall way short. The beautiful touches of this gem of a find are a) no Sky Sports, b) No fruit machines, c) No tacky television & if there was music, it was very understated, so all in all perfection. If it sounds boring, then this really isn't the place you're looking for. This is a wonderful place with a timeless feel, warmth and a place to enjoy wonderful beer and the near forgotten art of conversation... .

Been here twice now. Everything I've tried was excellent. There bar keep is super knowledgeable, makes great recommendations and is always happy to let you try a sample. It's also just a lovely little pub. It was full in my last visit yet not too noisy that I couldn't hear my friends talking (I usually really struggle to hear in noisy places). I just loved the 'speak easy' feel. I'll definitely be back and highly recommend to anyone looking for something that definitely isn't a Spoons.

Love this place. Really, really good beers, friendly and knowledgeable staff, nice atmosphere and a diverse mix of people, at least on the day we went. My only wish is that it was bigger, but then it wouldn’t be called “little” would it? Will be back next time we are in Harrogate.
