We were talking about the Albion Inn to one of our children and we had arranged to go to Broadstairs that weekend. She said it sounded lovely so we suggested they come down and join us for Sunday lunch. Luckily her husband was not working that Sunday so we rang our other daughter and invited her too! We then rang the Albion and booked a table for 8 of us. Unfortunately this weekend fell when petrol was running out and my husband spent a couple of hours on the Friday trying to get petrol. He went to about 6 different garages with no luck and then the station just next door to our shop had petrol and he managed to fill up otherwise we would not have been able to go. Our daughter who has a 7 seater car and was driving everybody had the same problem. She had driven around most of Saturday and could not get petrol and told us that perhaps we should book the table for just the two of us as she did not think she would make it. However the little love got up at 6.00am Sunday morning and drove around and finally managed to fill up her car so we were all set! The Sunday roast was amazing as always and as there were so many of us (5 adults and 3 children) instead of dishing up the vegetables on the plate as usual they brought them all along in different dishes, which was brilliant as some of the grandchildren do not eat certain things. We also had three gravy boats and two big bowls of cauliflower cheese. Everyone was fighting over this as it is so lovely! This was all washed down with a bottle of Trapiche (an Argentinian Malbec which is very hard to get and if you do find it costs about £28.00 but here it is only £16.50), numerous pints of beer and soft drinks for the kids and my daughter who was driving. My husband had his usual crumble with ice cream and custard and the kids all had ice cream. I then asked for the bill as I had told the family that it was our treat and closed my eyes but it only came to £142.00! Outstanding value for all that food and drinks. Afterwards I went back to the flat, the boys went to watch Arsenal in the pub and the girls and kids went on the beach as the weather was lovely. They thoroughly enjoyed their day and said they would love to come back so sorry if we were a bit loud and messy Albion but we had a brilliant time and everyone left with full tummies feeling very happy. Special thanks to Michael (the gent who before helped me out of my wheelchair in the pouring rain) as he is so lovely.

Hasn't been the Hoggs Head for a while, the new owners changed the name back to The Albion or Little Albion to the locals! Great atmosphere in this cosy pub. Steak night is incredible value, reminds me of an old fashioned beefeater meal, Big tomato, onion rings, chips, peas and succulent steak and a pint / wine included. Steak night is only one night a week but worth the visit.

We were down in Broadstairs for the weekend and booked the Albion Inn - or The Hogs Head - for Sunday lunch. The weather was dreadful with pouring rain and I am in a wheelchair so my poor husband had to push me from the flat to St Peters to get there. As it was a Sunday the buses are a bit hit and miss and as we came out of the road where the bus stops two came along together and we missed them both! So we started the long push to get there, still with the rain pouring. When we eventually got there we were absolutely soaked! There is a little step to get up into the pub and it is difficult for a wheelchair to get in so one of the staff very kindly helped me out so I could walk to our table (I can walk very short distances) which luckily was in the middle with plenty of room. As I was so wet from the rain my clothes and hands were soaked and it took us some time to get me up and walk to the table and all this time my husband was still stuck outside in the rain! We eventually sat down and I have never been so wet in my life. I was wearing a skirt where the rain was making its way down to the bottom and I had visions of a puddle being left under my wheelchair so it looked as if I had had an accident! Luckily that did not happen! The food as usual was wonderful with my husband having the lamb shank and I had the beef. They also bring an extra gravy boat if you need some more and a big bowl of cauliflower cheese, which is so good. We are no desert eaters but I could not resist a Bailey's and my husband had a pint of 1664. With the meal we had Trapice which is an Argentinian Malbec and very difficult to find in restaurants let alone at £16.50 (you would expect to pay at least £25.00 if you could find it). The staff are so friendly and the lovely man who helped me into the pub came over to make sure I was okay. I only hope I did not hurt him as I was holding on to him for dear life as my hands were so wet and slippery! Then if that was not good enough for all of that the bill was only £52.50 - I was expecting to pay at least £70.00. Please go but you need to book. We are coming down this weekend and have booked so look forward to seeing you again - hope without the rain!

We booked to go for Sunday lunch at 1.00pm. We got there a little early as I am in a wheelchair and it can take some time to get from where we stay in Broadstairs to St Peters, especially if the weather is bad (we always seem to just miss the bus!) We got there at 12.30pm and our table was booked for 1.00pm but it was no bother for the waitress she just moved one of the chairs away to accommodate my wheelchair. We started with my husband having a nice cold pint of 1664 and I had a campari and lemonade much to the delight of the waitress who had never served it before! I had the roast beef and I cannot eat a lot of food so asked for a small portion and my husband had his favourate lamb shank. The food they do is unbelievable with lovely roast potatoes, homemade stuffing and a mixture of vegetables. I had turnips and parsnips on my plate which usually I don't eat but they were delicious. Also a very nice touch was that they brought a gravy boat if you wanted extra gravy and also a great big bowl of cauliflower cheese which was lovely and very unexpected. If the portion I had was a small one I would hate to see the large one but as it was all so gorgeous I ate every bit of it. My husband had the apple crumble with custard and ice cream (he always does that!) and I had just plain ice cream for desert. On the wine list was Trapiche which is an Argentinian Malbec and I have never seen it on any restaurant menu let alone at only £16.50 a bottle! It is wine with a lovely nose, very smooth and a wonderful flavour. I then finished with a Bailey's and my husband had another pint of 1664. The staff are so attentive and ask if they can get anything for you and if the food was okay. Also the ladies toilet is very large and spotless with hairsray, hand cream and the mandatory hand sanitiser. To cap it all after all that our bill was only £56.00 - I was expecting to pay at least £70.00. Don't miss out on this for a Sunday lunch to remember but unfortunately now with the new lockdown you may have to wait a while but it will be worth it.

We booked a table for 9 and we also had friends book a table of 4 at the same time for Sunday lunch. We booked after a friend recommended the pub to us and all in all it was very nice from the start to the finish. Nice welcome, good service and the food was lovely and hot. Good value for money and everyone enjoyed their meal. Toilets were also very clean, although the gents did have a camera in there which I thought was a little to much. Granted it was not facing the urinals but still a little more privacy would have been good.

We were down in Broadstairs for the weekend and one of the highlights is going to the Tartar Frigate for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately I am in a wheelchair and there is no way that I can climb the stairs to get up to the restaurant in the Tartar. I was a little disappointed as we always love to go to the Tartar but on our way back from the Red Lion pub we noticed that the Hogs Head did a Sunday roast dinner so decided to give it a try. You can choose either two courses for I think something like £12 or three courses for £14. I do not eat dessert so had two courses but my husband had three (as he likes his crumble!). The starters were a choice of broccolli and stilton soup or prawn cocktail and we both had the soup. It was absolutely delicious, very thick and creamy and you could really taste the stilton. For mains I had roast beef and my husband had roast pork. Unfortunately lamb shank was not on the menu this day or I am sure my husband would have had that as all the comments on here say it is gorgeous. I asked if it was possible to have a smaller portion as I don't eat that much and the waitress said she would give me a child's portion, which was perfect. The food came up with the roast meats, a yorkshire pudding, cabbage, carrots and peas and the best roast potatoes I have had for a long time. Afterwards my husband had apple crumble with custard and I tasted a bit of it and the apples seem to have been seasoned with nuts of some kind (almonds I think) and a hint of toffee and the custard was gorgeous. If I could make one constructive criticism it would be that we were not offered either apple sauce or horseradish sauce but this is half our fault as I am sure if we had asked for it we could have it brought to us. We also had a lovely bottle of perfectly chilled South African Sauvignon Blanc - which was lovely and very good value for money. I hope to be out of the wheelchair soon and we might go back to the Tartar as we do enjoy it there but they charge £21.00 a head plus wine whereas we paid £13.00 a head plus wine (which again was cheaper). While there we were able to watch the Millwall game and as it was St Patrick's day they had live Irish music later in the evening although they ran out of Guinness as so many people were in the pub! The only thing I would say is to go a bit later. They serve from 12.00-4.00 pm and we got there about 12.15 and our yorkshire puddings could have been risen a little bit more - ours were like pancakes although still tasted lovely! About 1.30-2.00 we saw meals being brought out where the yorkshire puddings were enormous. Well done Hogs Head you saved our weekend and may be the next for Sunday lunch instead of the Tartar - which is saying something for those of you who have been there for Sunday lunch. Hope to see you soon.

We have been to the Little Albion Inn on several occasions for Sunday lunch, however our latest visit was a huge disappointment. The roast chicken leg was hard, very dry and without flavour, the cauliflower cheese was inedible. Unfortunately dessert was no better, we all chose the crumble on offer but the crumble on top of the fruit was uncooked and had, it seemed, just been placed under a grill to brown the top surface, again mostly inedible. We did point these problems out and although the waitress was very apologetic there was no comment from either management or head of kitchen. A shame, standards have declined.

Been here before and it was really good. Sunday lunch usually about 12 pounds. So booked easter Sunday lunch for 3. Was told to go in and pick up a menu and let them know what we would be ordering. When we booked on the phone we told them what we would be ordering, and the girl just said"see you Sunday". Didnt even take my name!Got there at 12.30pm,2 other people in the pub, music blaring from the speakers,we couldn,t even hear each other speak. Then they didnt even realise we had booked.Apparently the pub had had its first birthday party the night before, hence the reason for poor service.I asked them 3 times to turn the music down. And it just got louder. When my father had the cobbler for dessert, what was meant to be cream was just ordinary milk! as we left they gave us an easter egg each which probably cost them a quid from Bookers, and the landlord said "sorry about the chef, hes still learning" What?? 75 quid later? amateurs, and a total con, ruined our easter....never again

It would of been a 5 but they had 2 people call in sick today so they were very understaffed. A bit harsh of me but we still left a 25% tip because between 2 people they managed to serve us as a table of 10 and a pub full of people. She just loved all the people in the pub and bounded up to all of them in turn.I called her over and she seemed to take a shine to me and promptly sat on my feet and let me rub her tummy and stroke her! Having reviewed The Little Albion on two previous occasions, first visit good, next visit not so good, we said we would give it another try. I understand that there is a new landlord, although the chef from previous visits is still here. My first choice from the menu was not available, so I opted for the cod and thrice cooked chips which I was complimentary about on our first visit. This time round I got a very small fillet of cod (same price as before) served with what were clearly frozen/chilled chips that are used everywhere in the catering trade. When I pointed out that these were not thrice cooked as stated on the menu, all I got was a sorry. My wife's meal unfortunately was no better and whilst the staff were pleasant, it doesn't make up for misrepresenting whats on the menu and hoping most people wont notice.

Lovely pub, and lovely food at very reasonable prices for Broadstairs! Marcus the new landlord & Nicola the manager are both so lovely and very welcoming. Would definitely recommend this place for food and socialising. They put on some great entertainment, from quizzes to bands. There's always a great guest ale on at only £2.95 a pint which my other half takes great advantage of! And also some great shot offers with Marcus always concucting different ones up! So there's something for everyone at the Little Albion. Would definitely recommend the Sunday lunch.

Marcus and Nicola could not have been more helpful. The staff were also very good they even put up the decorations for me (lucky lad) we had a curry instead of the usual buffet. The chef did an excellent job. Marcus organised the DJ ticklesounds disco. Who did a good job as just a little loud for the older ones.We had a great party. Recommended.

New owner with a new chef, atmosphere very welcoming. Service excellent. Three course Sunday lunch for £15. Freshly made soup, portion sizes perfect not made to feel rushed. Highly recommended. A lot better than the national chain you would get a roast from.

First time visit, pleasant surroundings, TV was on but we did ask for sound to be turned down so we women could chat more easily (!), no problem, staff very obliging and friendly. Basket meals, 1 x £5.50 or 2 x £10 on offer, possibly a good deal but we chose from the varied menu, I ordered meat lasagne, (veggie version also available) with delicious thrice cooked chips and a lovely fresh salad, all very tasty. Friends chose, scampi, three burger special and they all looked good too, there was not much left on the plates! No desserts, all watching our figures!! Of course, we had not remembered it was a 'football match' day which happened to start after our meal finished, it did get a bit busy and noisy then so coffee was delayed a tad as was the bill, but no real problem as we were ready to leave by that time anyway. So for a fairly reasonably priced meal, which was good and hot it certainly might be one to visit again. For those visitors who come for the Folk Week, it is only around the corner from the campsite and it would be well worth eating there - I believe they have regular music evenings also, worth a try. See their website for details.

We live locally and have seen this pub go through a couple of iffy managers but the new guy, Marcus is getting it right. The asmosphere is of a friendly local pub. We find the local micro-pubs can be cliquey and physically too small especially when there are few loud people in them but The Little Albion is welcoming, airy and spacious. The food is good quality and reasonably priced, a cut above 'pub-grub', there is a chef on hand all day up to 9pm. I would recommend the Calamari and Chips, burgers and Sunday Roasts. The beer is the usual lagers, ciders etc. and he does usually have 3 real-ales on at £2.95 each a pint! It's getting popular as when my partner and I are in there we are meeting neighbours we never knew we had!

This is a cracking little bar with very friendly staff. We ordered food about 2 minutes before the kitchen shut and it was not a problem. We had an array of different foods and it was all very tasty. Still not sure about the trend of eating food from a wooden board but there you go. Pool table in tne back and a big room in the front. Well worth a visit if you're hungry.

We came here for lunch a few weeks ago and were the only ones dinning, however, we were pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food and service. The triple cooked chips must rate as one of the best in this area of Kent. We therefore booked for the mothers day lunch today, which regretfully was not as good. It was clear at the outset that the kitchen and service staff were just overwhelmed by the numbers and could not cope. First off the roast beef was sold out!! so that just left the only other roast which was lamb. Having ordered this, we were then told we could have a rib eye steak which we declined. We waited over 45 minutes for our main course which when it did arrive was only just warm, but by then we just needed to eat so said nothing when we were asked if everything was alright. Given that all the tables were booked in advance they either need to reduce numbers in future to cope or get more staff in. It was a shame, but not one that would stop us giving them another try, but never on a Sunday lunch.

I recently took my family to The Little Albion for a Sunday roast because I had heard very good reviews from friends and family. As soon as we walked in the door we were made to feel very welcome and the Manageress Jo was extremely helpful and welcoming. The Sunday roasts we ordered were fantastic and the portion sizes were very good, my son commented on how much he enjoyed the dinner and especially the Yorkshire puddings. The service was excellent and the waitress was very welcoming and indeed helpful, warming and well versed on the menu and the excellent food cooked by the charismatic chef John who came out to check if our meal was to our liking. The whole experience was wonderful and we will definitely be returning to this gem of pub/restaurant in Broadstairs.

The little albion is definitely worth a visit! I regularly drink here with friends and the atmosphere is always welcoming and relaxed. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. The first time I ate here I had shepherds pie that had just come out the oven and it tasted great. It was really good value for money, the portion could have fed me twice! I have also been to curry night on a tuesday. I had the vegetable curry which was delicious and presented beautifully. It's nice to be able to go to a traditional pub and have a home cooked meal and a drink that doesn't cost a fortune. My friends have highly recommended the Sunday roast so I will be visiting again very soon.

I popped into the little Albion after seeing them advertise for their Sunday roast on Facebook with some of my friends. We each had 3 courses for £14.95 and for what we received I can say that it was well worth the value for money! I had the soup to start which was homemade and served with more than enough farmhouse bread.I then had the beef for my mains which came out well seasoned and rare, it also came with crispy roasties, fresh veg, proper gravy and most importantly, HOMEMADE yorkies! I opted for the apple crumble with custard for my pudding and just about managed to fit it in after the other courses generous portions! The atmosphere inside the pub is very friendly! I will definitely be back again and would 100% recommend to others!

Sick of the folk week hustle and bustle headed to the Little Albion for lunch and to meet friends. Staff were super friendly and the food good and reasonably priced. There was a band on but as the place isn't huge it felt quite intimate and welcoming. Definately come here again .

The Little Albion was always a good place to have a drink, and did a great Sunday lunch, but this was our first visit since the new owners took over last winter. If anything it is even better now.The decor has had a makeover, and the curious space wasting surround to the stage area has gone. In addition to a good array of keg beers they now have some excellent guest cask ales from Oakham. The Sunday lunch was perfectly prepared....all the vegetables hot and cooked just right, and the meat lean and tender and in generous portions. Personally I have problems with Sunday roasts, but this one was fine, and I was able to enjoy it to the full.As usual on a Sunday afternoon, there was a great band to entertain from about 4 until six thirty. All in all a really good afternoon.

Recently changed hands again and has been upgraded to serve hot food. This pub is now great for a quick lunch or a proper meal with a full menu including rolls (great choice of fillings), traditional pub dishes and mixed grills. All prices a reasonable and the quality is great. As well as food there is regular live music and a range of other activities including a curry night.Atmosphere is friendly and as the pub is a short way out of town towards St Peters is perfect for a quieter evening drink.Pool table and darts are back.

Slightly off the beaten track,The Little Albion is definitely worth a visit.A traditional pub with an excellent range of beers including "real ales".What really makes it stand out though is the quality of the food.We (6 adults and 2 children) ate there on 3 separate occasions during our stay in Broadstairs,2 evening meals and Sunday lunch.Without a doubt we all agreed that the Sunday lunch was the best we had ever had in a pub or restaurant. The servings were huge, beautifully cooked and exceptional value. The evening meals were similarily impressive. All this was supported by superb friendly "nothing is too much trouble" service from the landlord and bar staff .Highly recommended.Make the effort to find it,it's only a ten minute stroll from the sea front. You will not be disappointed.

Felicity’s Cafe at Quex in Birchington is an absolute gem. Picture this—you roll up to this quaint little spot, and from the second you walk in, it’s got that vibe. Friendly, warm, like you’re part of the family. We’re talking fresh, local ingredients that just hit differently. The coffee? Smooth. The cakes? Sweet but not too sweet. Service? Spot on. The folks here treat you right, not in some fake, scripted way. You can tell they care, like they want every dish to be a hit, and let me tell you—it is. You want cozy, comfort, and quality all wrapped up in one? Felicity’s Cafe nails it.
