This is a lovely quirky bistro, the cheese on toast is delicious,served with side salad and crisps. Hot drinks are available and it is licenced to sell alcoholic beverages

Absolutely love this place. It is friendly and always busy. It does great food. We have still to sample their cream tea. We keep having food lol. Next time, a cream tea lol. Our dog always gets a treat of a sausage from the girls. Needless to say, we get dragged to the bistro by our dog, he knows when we are going here and can't get in quick enough 🤣. Definitely a place to visit and there is the emporium too to wander round. There is also a great little shop at the front that does lovely clothes, handbags and shoes, need I say more, get yourself down there 🤣.

So great that you guys are open from 8am. This saved my journey to Ramsgate.

Met some friends for lunch and had a look downstairs too. We love coming here. The cafe was really busy but the 3 staff that were on were amazing and they made us aware that there would be a little wait for drinks and food but omg it was worth the wait. Definitely recommend. Great service all round.

My first visit. We each had a Bacon Sarnie. It was simply the best, excellent bread, excellent bacon and the little salad on the side was a treat. The coffee was very good too.

Perfect little hideaway. Quirky and fascinating. As soon as you enter you are surrounded by walls covered in collected retro memorabilia. This provides plenty to talk about before you sit down. Menus on the tables. Licensed bar drinks also available. My favourite.....jacket potatoes with the usual filling, are perfectly roasted and buttery. Pots of tea with cute cups, all the usual coffee suspects. Sandwiches and cooked breakfasts. Very popular Place, where they work so hard to get the food out to your tables. Sofas, eclectic table and chairs......and watch out for the strangest portrait of a blonde haired child....unmissable. 😆

A hidden gem as it's upstairs in Petticoat Lane antique centre. We both had jacket potatoes, one chilli, one Coronation chicken, which was very tasty and plentiful.

A big thank you to the to Backer Street Bistro & Bar who held our Anniversary party. The girls were amazing throughout the whole evening and on full the night when needed .I must say that the venue is spectacular in its self , you must see it. Also Andy the DJ was so good at keeping everyone dancing too . I would recommend it .

Nice, cosy cafe tucked away inside Petticoat Lane Emporium. Selection is cheap and varied (breakfast until 1pm; bar open from 12noon) with sandwiches, tea, beers, wine, spirits, panini’s, and more. The cafe is full of antiques, which makes for a unique setting.

Cute little cafe, nestled in a fab vintage emporium. Some good breakfast and lunch options, with cakes and alcoholic beverages too. Very good prices and a nice environment. Enjoyed my visit and will return next time :)

What a great find s cafe that serves breakfast and lunch has a bar within a emporium of shops of antique and collectibles. The staff are mad and love a dance food is great well worth a visit

Popped in for lunch after a little nosy round the emporium. What a fabulous little find, the burger was one of the best I’ve ever had and the decor is fabulous. So many cool things to look at . I’ll definitely be back

Great breakfast and coffee and great work from the girls. Impressive to have homemade food with a personal touch, yet the girls maintain high professional standards throughout. The girls running the place have great rapport and dynamics with their customers and this is refreshing in the normal chain / sanitized world of food these days. I am a repeat customer and I visit the place not only for the great food but also the team that are in place. Keep up the amazing work.

Great place to eat, lovely and polite staff

We have visited several times over past couple of years and travel to Ramsgate for what WAS the Best cheese on Toast and Banana Milkshakes ever and well worth our drive from Ashford for lunch here. UNFORTUNATELY On this occasion that's far from the truth. The milkshake was very runny and thin. The White toast we ordered came out as Granary and burnt in places. On asking the young staff if it had changed hands, I was told no, and that she had seen the other one put ice cream in it! And to let them know next time and they will add more!! Next time is no good we wanted our thick milkshakes today.. one girl spent the entire time of our visit on her mobile , carrying both our drinks in one hand and her mobile in the other. We do usually visit at the weekend and have always had great food and service, but having a week off it was the 1st and last time we will visit during the week. They were truly not interested. Such a shame from what is usually a fantastic place for our favourite lunch

I love coming here for a good old fashioned bacon sandwich and a cup of tea, great customer service tasty food and good old fashioned surroundings ... shame more people don't get to sample this little hidden treasure.

Ordered 2 teas, 1 cheese on toast (on white bread) and a bacon and Brie panini, simple right?!?! Paid and took a seat, we waited 10 Mins for our tea to arrive then approx another 15mins for the cheese on toast on “brown bread” to arrive but no sign of the panini! In the mean time another couple arrived and ordered a sausage sandwich or something similar, they get their order in the meantime “the cheese on “brown bread” has gone cold and I’m still waiting for the panini”. I ask at the counter about the panini and I’m told it’s on the way! I went to sit back down followed by a member of staff to apologise and explain that they can only toast one side of a panini at a time? Erm sorry but not my problem, you shouldn’t be advertising on the menu if you can’t cater for the order! Then 2 Mins pass and a plate is placed in front of me? What?? That doesn’t look like a panini that looks like cheese on toast, oh that’s because it is lol at that point it was clear I wasn’t getting the panini I ordered so asked to be refunded which I had to accept in cash because the member of staff didn’t know how to do a refund on the card machine! We had finished our tea ages ago so we sat and shared cold, dry cheese on toast lol I will not be returning, shame because I visit downstairs often and would of been great to sit and have a tea after shopping.

We visited the antiques emporium downstairs and decided to go to the cafe upstairs. The friendly staff serve delicious home made cakes and a wide selection of coffee, cream teas, breakfasts, sandwiches & paninis.

Aladdin's cave of vintage and bric-a-brac with the delights of home made cakes and tea. A welcome refuge for a couple of hours from the bustling outside world.

Es un lugar maravilloso para refrescos.Hay un rincón para niños, que hacer si te apetecen unos filas, algunas revistas y rompecabezas.Los precios son muy razonables, una chaqueta de patata y una guarnición de ensalada, por £3.50. Hay un desayuno durante todo el día por 3.50 libras.Sin duda me gustaría volver cuando estoy en la zona.

The Emporium itself is amazing and going up to the cafe is perfect half way through! Very nice friendly staff, good selection of meals and always delicious. Great homemade cakes very yummy.

This is a cafe above a very interesting vintage market so probably people come for the market and then fancy a cuppa rather than come specifically for the cafe. That said, they do a nice selection of cakes - look like homemade to me - and a decent cup of Earl Grey. Just what you need to have a short break before more browsing.

Popped information reviving pot of tea and slice of carrot cake. As good as ever. Really fresh homemade and so tasty. Could eat a second piece but calories don't allow it. Tea is served in a proper-sized pot piping hot and well-dressed. We'll worth the 30 miles round trip. Easy parking too.

Popped into have a deserved tea and sandwich.... saw the menu and promptly forgot the sandwich and went for a jacket potato with filling. That left room for a slice of homemade cake. Couldn't decide which one, so had to wait till finished before allowing myself another cup of tea. Had to have a slice of cake, it would be rude not to, went for the coffee and walnut cake in the end. Lovely treat. Could have gone for the carrot cake, lemon drizzle cake or a very large scone. Will have to go back for these choices.... SOON.

Cakes and scones are delicious. We had the home made carrot cake - generous portions with a big pot of tea. The cafe is nicely furnished with a quirky selection of vintage sofas, chairs and tables. Feels very retro with 1950s home cooking and 1950s family values. Not quite 1950s prices, but low priced, high quality - great value. Other reviews called it a little gem....that's exactly what it is.

What a little gem, above emporium. Vintage cafe, serving all day breakfast all freshly cooked, toasted sandwiches ,Panini's and others. Cream teas, scones, selection of home made cakes (great Victoria Sandwich) tea coffee. Friendly staff working hard as only 2 of them .Why rush when you have already spent time wandering around Emporium. Had good time with friends.

Visited for a whistle stop during an emporium outing with my partner. Having been told there was no gluten free bread, and I was having tea, the lovely waitresses gave me an orange drizzle cake to try, for free!! Plus, the prices are amazing, the food is amazing (says partner who had the BLT panini) and the cake was AMAZING! Definitely returning soon!
