Bit disappointed, really. The smell of food was lovely and the place looked beautiful. I'm disabled and struggled down from overflow car park as we couldn't see any special parking. My husband went in and asked about a table and was told 20 mins. Great, we can wait. We had travelled back from London so hungry. We waited 20 mins a few tables empty (but hey, they know what's what). Then, to be told, it will be another 15 to 20 mins with no promises. People were leaving all the time we were there. I'm also diabetic so the uncertainty was also a problem. So we left. I was so disappointed as it looked and smelt lovely, but please don't make false promises. If I had taken insulin based on the first promise, we would have had a big problem. So please, in the future, just say I'm sorry we are super busy, and no, we have no tables.

Really lovely place. Room was beautiful and comfortable. The pub and restaurant are stunning in a gorgeous little village. Food was top notch. The staff were so polite and helpful and the manager Ryan went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. Would strongly recommend this place.

We popped by to the red lion yesterday as a group with a baby and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. The food was cooked to perfection and the portion sizes are great. I will definitely be visiting again

We came here for lunch and tried the new set lunch menu. Chose the chicken milanese. Chicken breast in panko crumbs with fries It was perfectly cooked, soft juicy chicken and yummy fries For dessert we chose the pecan and maple syrup pie with ice cream. Gorgeous Rachel was looking after us and was really welcoming and helpful. A perfect hostess. Thank you Rachel. We had a great lunch experience. I would definitely recommend this venue for lunch.there are lots of indoor and outdoor seating for cosy twosomes or big gatherings.

Driving through the village we decided to stop at the lion for lunch … we hadn’t booked but from the moment we arrived we were made most welcome. We both had the specials, Salmon for my husband and I had the mushroom risotto both were absolutely delicious and as much as we tried to decline a dessert we shared the pecan pie which was in my opinion the best pecan pie i’ve ever tasted! lunch was fabulous and our entire experience was topped by the lovely Rachel who’s customer service was second to none! .. we certainly hope to visit again in the near future … The lion is a beautiful pub, great food and wonderful staff …Thank you Rachel for making our visit today so pleasurable!!

Went for a quiet lunch on a Saturday in the bar area. Charming old pub, great food and a warm, friendly service. We will return. Can't review hotel as we didn't stay over.

Disappointing meal. Homemade mini beef pie and sausage dish was clearly heated by microwave as the pie was completely soggy, the sausage was hard as was the mashed potato also. The gravy tasted like it was made from instant mix as well. Overall a poor offering which spoiled an otherwise nice experience.

Terrible service and the worst Guinness I've had for a long time. I'll be honest I didn't try the food but I can't imagine that would make up for my experience

The Lion at Bicester is a beautifully presented pub where we were met by very friendly staff. The food was excellent and the service perfect. It was the first time we have been but it certainly won't be the last!

Went for Sunday lunch. Very disappointed service intermittent at best Food was only Luke warm which was dissapointing and roast potatoes had been shown the oven but not roasted. The waitress asked if we wanted cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets with our dinner we said yes but no mention that each one was £4 more also none of us had much gravy so my husband asked if we could have more and they charged £4 for a tiny jug of that aswell. They Muddled the bill up several times so took ages to pay. Not the best experiences I appreciate it was busy but staff all over the place and not really looking after us had to ask for some water 3 times. Very very expensive for what it was burger was £21 and £4 for cheese and £4 for bacon on the top. I paid £16 for a burger which had all of that and some onion rings in a pub in the peak district.

I had been staying at this hotel when I was visiting family after a 9 hour drive from Scotland. When we arrived we checked in and got our room card, first impressions of the room were not impressive, windows were dirty, bathroom was very dirty and the A/C OR FAN DIDNT WORK. After having dinner, we went to see family and got back to the hotel at around 11pm. 12am: me and my family heard loud banging from the room above <211>. We phoned reception to then be told we are being charged for the call. Reception wasn't helpful at all, cutting us off the phone because wedding guests had arrived in the lobby 'singing'. 2.30am. We had to phone reception a second time because of the banging. It kept going on until 3am. NEXT DAY: Our family had come to brewers fayre to accompany us for breakfast. One of the reception staff had told us the night before, that we would have a table ready at 8.30am for 9 people. Much to our dissatisfaction and annoyance, we were informed by a very kind lady at Brewers fayre that the table hadn't in fact been booked for neither us nor our guests. On approaching Premier Inn staff to complain, I was advised to TAKE MY FAMILY TO MCDONALDS. At which point I gave up complaining, as anything I said to the gentleman behind the desk was falling on dead ears. May I also add that the lady at Brewers fayre informed me that this is a regular occurrence at the weekends, and the Brewers fayre staff were fed-up being placed in this position. Word of advice, if you want a comfortable night's stay in a clean hotel, and the availability to eat, AVOID this premier Inn at all costs

Worst sauce I have ever tasted. I grow my own herbs I love mint and I love lamb but not this version. The “mint”sauce ruined beautifully cooked tender lamb. It smelled of soap and tasted like it too.this was a special anniversary meal with lovely Chateauneuf du Pape wine so this was sad especially as chef went to the trouble of nice touch of little sweet treats at the end of our meal.
