I went on sun and they did my daughter's meal wring and then they didn't have any wraps left for her to have it so had to get a refund. Then I ordered my food at 11.27 and asked for a cooked breakfast to be told that had now stopped and was now a carvery which I ordered with a take out coke. Told they would bring out my meat for me. Waited 30 mins for this only not had it brought to me. And during this time I ordered a burger for one of our party and he received that and o was still waiting .Went to complain and ask for my money back only to be told by the the staff that I didn't order one and she was really rude. I explained it was the other girl who served me and told her how I paid and what money I paid with consisted of. Only to be told again I hadn't ordered anything. Then she spoke to the other who confirmed this and she then said she would give me a refund no apology or anything.

Large mug of tea £1.50. Protein breakfast with egg, sausage, beans, mushrooms and thick cut gammon, beautiful. Staff lovely and let us know it would take a few minutes longer as the gammon was quite thick. Lovely eggs Benedict with eggs still runny. Can recommend it all. Staff very efficient, lots of regular customers and place immaculate.

Popped in for the first time while we were in the area. We had coffee and a vegetarian breakfast with toast. Nice 1950s style decor and very clean. The staff were very friendly. If you are expecting Michellin style food then this won't be for you. However, it's good basic food at affordable prices. If I lived more local, I'd make a return visit.

Smart truck driver cafe I guess. Coffee is a level teaspoon out of some large tin of cheap brand instant and eggs and other items kept warm under heating lights. Sausages no browning, and tomatoes were semi-chopped out of a tin. Excellent piece of bacon. 1950s style decor was good, loadsa parking and pretty flowers around door (PS that young oak tree is very close to the building! Your insurance cover will be suspect)) Not what we were wanting so the fault was ours and we lacked the courage to walk out.

Recommended for breakfast by a trucker friend. However, we were too late for traditional breakfast so made do with the same ingredients in a roll - which in this neck of the woods is called a cob. Ever had baked beans in a roll? No me neither but everything was well cooked and tasty. Will return - hopefully to have breakfast on a plate next time.

We have been visiting the Limes Cafe every couple of weeks or so for a good few years now. The visit this weekend was the first time since the March lockdown though. I was a little apprehensive before going as I didn't know how the place would be layed out to keep people apart with it being a relatively small place. On getting there I was pleasantly surprised and my worry vanished. Tables were put together for family groups which was nice and sauce bottles, salt and pepper pots were out and condiments were now in packets which was good. We had various breakfasts between us and as usual it was a great meal and made a lovely change after all these months at home. Will definitely be returning.

I've passed The Limes Cafe many, many, times over the years, but this was my first ever visit. I rode from Leicestershire with two mates, for breakfast and I know it is popular with motorcyclists and car drivers. Being a Sunday, it was busy, but it didn't take long to have our order taken and the food was there fast! For £6, plus £1 for tea/coffee, this would be very hard to beat. A whole plateful, excellent value.I'm not a connoisseur of sausages, some reviews panned them, but they were edible, with no big lumps of gristle. Eggs were not snotty and the plate wasn't swimming in bean, or tomato, juice (I hate that). I would have preferred to have had the toast, un-buttered, perhaps I should have asked for that. Toilets are in a separate block. Car park is gravel, not great for motorcycles (care necessary).Would I go back? Most definitely!

I hadn’t been to The Limes for a few years, we used to go regularly as the breakfast WAS the best in the area.Decided to to try The Limes today as we were in the area - went for breakfast - was really looking forward to it - it came quickly the bacon was tasteless and the sausage was cheap, one mushroom! beans tomatoe and egg was ok, toast was soggy - nothing more to say really - they need to go to Wetherspoons for some breakfast pointers - you can always tell quality of a breakfast by the sausage and bacon and this failed miserably. The establishment itself was nice and clean and the staff professional - I have been recommending this place for years by mouth but sadly on todays experience will no longer do so

I have never written a negative review before but after today I felt I must. I enjoy eating breakfast out and am happy to pay for quality. Here, it’s quantity only. For £5 they offer you 2 sausages, bacon, fried egg, beens, tomatoes, black pudding, mushrooms and fried bread. Sounds ok?? No. You can not give all that without compromising quality. As you carve into the sausage it is obviously a deep fried chippy sausage, one that most chippies would be embarrassed to serve, one chew, spat out, meal ruined. Pre margarined toast (butter separate please). All in all, shockingly bad. In my opinion a breakfast is judged by the quality of sausage. I imagine their sausage are about 5p each, if they are paying more they’re being robbed.

My pal had the carvery , help yourself breakfast, again excellent which is why we had come back.As we ate the cafe filled up and everyone looked very content. We arrived and left in morning mist, but with full stomachs which set us both up for the day. I had the jumbo breakfast for £4.85 and my mum had the steak pie unfortunately the breakfast wasn,t great the fried bread was oozing grease and the sausages wasn,t the best quality I have tried. Their is a large parking area outside but full of big potholes possibly made by the trucks that stop their, the toilets are outside in a separate building. I chose the eggs benedict who h was on the menu as 3 poached eggs on toasted muffins with ham and sauce. Not quite what arrived. 1 bread bun in half, not toasted and the bun was far too big. They also make a good lunch cob to take away - always freshly made to your specification. There is ample parking here, even for HGVs.

I used to visit here 20 years ago. Ownership may have changed, decor updated but its still the limes i knew and loved. Food is good. price is right. you might rub shoulders with lorry drivers and company reps, but if you have a problem with that its down to you. Dont let the bumpy carpark and mix of intersting people put you off.

We have been to the Limes Cafe on numerous occasions for breakfast, lunch and dinner. You're always assured of a good hot meal which will be reasonably priced. The surroundings are clean but tatty, so jeans and jumper/tee-shirts are advised. Having said that, ignore the slightly rough interior design and you'll definitely enjoy your food.

We called at this cafe today after being at Centre Parcs, Sherwood Forest for a week and didn't want to pay over £40 for 4 breakfasts plus drinks. We all had jumbo breakfasts with a mug of either tea or coffee for £22. We have all said that this was by far the best breakfast we have ever had. Everything was freshly cooked and their fried eggs were perfect. Looking at the menus on the chalk boards it is reasonably priced. My husband and I would definitely go there again and wouldn't hesitate at recommending this cafe. The food was awesome

Been here a lot over the years whilst up and down the 614.Always been good food,I always enjoy a jumbo breakfast when I come here, and the café has the old roadhouse feel to it.A dozen teddy boys or a squad of greasers on Norton's and you would indeed be time travelling.I like it,never had bad food here, and always left a clean plate, last Sunday morning being no exception.

Our first visit and it won’t be our last. Was shown to a lovely table and menus given. Drinks ordered. Drinks arrived food order taken. All food was cooked to order fresh and very hot. Service was excellent couldn’t do enough for us. It was a lovely atmosphere and was able to speak to my hubby without any loud music. The experience was excellent

As one earlier contributor mentioned it is ‘card only’ but is clearly stated on the door. What a wonderful pub this is. It’s like stepping back in time and has a super range of draft ales, craft ales, ciders and some stouts too. The beer was excellent and served by knowledgable bar staff who clearly know their subject. The interior of the pub retains a quirky railway theme and it was spotlessly clean and had a good trade mid afternoon on a wet Tuesday. There is plenty of choice for non beer drinkers too. A lovely range of bar snacks available too. A real gem of a pub and I’d strongly recommend a visit to this CAMRA award winning venue.

Had been meaning to give this place a go for weeks, as we constantly drove past the sign. Never got the opportunity for one reason or another. So we took a chance and gave it a whirl on a weekday. It was very nice, welcoming, etc, etc. However, the prices did seem way off the scale for what appeared when the order arrived. It was very expensive and not THAT good to be honest. You don't mind paying a premium when the quality is top notch, but this really wasn't. No better than what you would expect to find in a supermarket and twice the cost. We left bitterly disappointed and still a bit hungry.

First time I ordered a takeaway and my order was not accepted and declined as informed by Just Eat. Ordered well before 4pm but took until gone 6pm for them to decline.
