The Lime Tree in Gosport

Have been getting more and more disappointed with this takeaway, and I've been using them for over 16 years. Had to wait AN HOUR AND FORTY FIVE minutes on Saturday. When i phoned and questioned where food was after an hour, i was told that collections get done before deliveries, so my order kept getting pushed back to accommodate others. Not good business practice!!! When food arrived, none of it was hot and the chips looked awful. Very sorry to say that will be the last time we use them.

The food was not authentic tasteless, the tandoori chicken tikka was just coloured red tasted of oily onions, no tandoori fragrance or tikka. Chicken tikka jalfrezi was not tikka, very mild where jalfrezi should be hot. Expensive for a meal I cold cook better, will not be ordering again from them

Really disappointed with our meal tonight. Told 30-45 minutes. Was over 1h 10. Chips cold and already reheated. Poppadoms were soggy. Five small pieces of chicken in the tikka masala. After 15 years of using them, we won't be doing so any more 😔

I had a family takeaway from here previously been very good. However last night we ordered starters of onion bhaji however there was only three from what should have been four. By the way they appear to have got smaller as well. We then had a vegetable masala which was ok however the chicken tikka masala tasted off. There appeared to be water coming from the chicken so it appears it must have been frozen and not fully defrosted before cooking. That in itself if it was so was not good anyway. But it tasted off as well. When I went to collect it they kept offering me different meals. None were mine they asked me to wait another 5 minutes which went to another 15. That is probably when they decided to cook it. So as you can see was not very good at all. Hopefully this was a one off. I may try again but dont hold my breath right now......

Ordered a delivery with a promised delivery time of 45-60 minutes. Ended up being an hour late. When it finally arrived, the food was ... OK at best, poor in truth. Very bland - might suit someone who's scared of trying something as exotic as Indian food. This used to be a good takeaway 10 years ago, but won't be trying again. What a shame.

Haven't ordered from here for a while. Did so online. Got a call to confirm my special request (was very pleased with that). Arrived quickly, but very disappointed with meals. Basically slop. Once we had dished them up, a load of watery liquid started rising to the surface. I ended up having to put my son's food through a sieve, excess shown on photo.

Decided to have a takeaway, and was recommended the Lime Tree. Excellent food delivered within half an hour. Biryani, and a chicken tika madras with breads and rice. Perfectly balanced flavours, hot and clearly freshly cooked, really enjoyed the meal all at a reasonable price to boot. Will definately use again, and a great discovery.

We have used this Indian Restaurant for quite a while and have always collected the food due to discounts offered. We ordered food a couple of weeks ago and decided to give the home delivery a go, what a massive mistake. Took over 3 hours for food to be delivered, delivery person was rude and lied to us (even though the owner of The Lime Trees was on the phone to me at the time) When we eventually got the food due to the 3 hours or so it took for delivery the food was cold and spoilt, to be fair our money was refunded and we were told if we used them again they would offer us a good will discount. Ordered food this Saturday (learnt our lesson and collected) when I pointed out the delivery issue last time and the good will discount the owner sneered and told me in no uncertain terms "you had a refund" and thats that.

Hadn't ordered from here for years after a bad experience years ago. Since it has been taken over and got its hygiene back together, I can't fault it. The food is lovely, consistent in flavour and always hot :)

Had my first takeaway from here and was very impressed! Ordered Onion Bahji to start - 3 in pack with mint sauce and salad; well cooked nice and crunchy and not at all raw in the middle (like some places!) Garlic Chilli Chicken - again a very tasty dish, sometimes this can just be pure heat. A hot but really tasty dish, some real flavour depth. Pilau rice as expected, nicely fragrant and fresh. Garlic Naan was a good size, well puffed up! And again very tasty. Bonus was 2 free poppadoms - very crispy! Very reasonably priced, and because my order was over £12 (just!) free delivery too! A great find; I’ll definitely be back! 😊😉👍🏻🍽

Best Indian Take Away. We have been eating here for the last year and all the meals are superb. Authentic Indian cuisine

Good food friendly staff Nice decor and very clean Easy parking. Nice waiting area.lots of choice in menu. Collection get 20% discount on cash and it's easy to cash because cash machine just round the you can save money paying cash.

Really testy food and delivery on time ****** friendly and helpful staff... I will visit again. Wish them luck👍👌
