I’m sorry but after tonight’s meal I really feel I need to leave an honest review. We’ve been a couple of times recently and sometimes the service and food is ok, enjoyable but nothing wow. Tonight we were celebrating a very special occasion and just wished we didn’t have it at the lime lounge. Food was rushed. My thali was tasteless. Beer was flat like it has been the last few times we’ve been, but what really got me was the fact that the staff seemed put out that we were there. The bill came to over £300 and we left over an 10% tip and as jay took the money we didn’t get so much of a thank you! Just rude!! As we all left not one member of staff said bye or thank you on the way out. You had some very loyal customers come in tonight for the last time.

This is the first time my family and I have dined at Lime Lounge and it certainly won’t be long before we return!! The restaurant decor is modern, and sophisticated but at the same time a very relaxing and intimate space. The staff are all very smart, friendly and attentive. When it comes to the food, well I can’t fault it, everything was piping hot, perfectly seasoned, aromatic and so fresh tasting. I have to say it’s absolutely delicious food and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone I know.

This restaurant is an exciting discovery, the food is amazing, fresh and tasty. I have been searching for an authentic Lamb Shatkora for a while. The Lime Lounge produce a tasty and delicious Lamb Shatkora. Their Onion Bhaji is superb with a lovely kick and freshly cooked. In fact the other food we have tried is amazing. The naan bread is really good, hot and buttery. The staff are helpful and friendly. Cant wait for next visit.

Waited 40 minutes for someone to take our order, then a further hour and 20 minutes to be served our food which was dismal to say the least. Other guests walked out due to the wait. No apologies from any members of staff and when I mentioned this they brought over a shot for everyone even though we were not drinking and then we found out this is standard practice. Terrible experience all round.

Outstanding food and service. The menu offers so much choice last night we had fish pakora light and perfectly cooked and a lamb dossa The lamb melts in your mouth. Mains prawn dansak and lamb pathia both delicious. Love the all breads and sides. Highly recommend one of the best curry houses and the staff are fantastic

Staff were lovely. Tables and Seats. Poppadoms for a quick bite delicious. I had Prawn Korma had a small kick but nothing that burnt my mouth of. Tasted delicious along with the mushroom rice, Cheeseie Naan Bread and chips. Highly recommended to anyone who loves a curry.

The food here is awesome, often come here for takeout food. Staff are so friendly and helpful and happy to please you. Great for a night out for family or friends great selection of vegetarian dishes too

The food is was absolutely beautiful. The 3 of us each enjoyed our starters and mains. All had different choices from the menu. The place is really pretty inside and the service was fantastic too. The prices are also very reasonable. Only pain is the parking, however you can park down the next road and walk a couple of minutes to the restaurant. We can’t wait to go back again in a couple of weeks time. All in all, this may be our new favourite local Indian restaurant 😋

The food and service were excellent. The restaurant is modern and light and airy , we were thankful for the air conditioning. Would definitely recommend. We were a party of 12 and everyone enjoyed their meal.

Whenever we've been before the food has always been delicious! Not sure if there's now a different chef but the Currys we had were so bland. No flavour at all. I really hope they address this issue ASAP as it used to be great.

We have visited a couple of times before, but I couldn't fault it then.. however on this occasion most staff have changed. Menu price is outrageous! Waiters running around clueless. Our starters were fantastic Duck Shaslik & Chicken Amritsari... however the chicken bhuna was bland and tasteless.. the gorkali wasn't very hot in spice and swimming in oil! The keema nan didnt have much meat in it either... no smile from the little chap who served our food felt like he was in a rush dumped it on table and left didn't see him after that! On the up side very stylish and clean place.

The place itself is lovely and very clean . The need for bums on seats has resulted in tables and chairs in every available nook and cranny (but I get that… post covid) what I don’t sadly get is food that is visually stunning but sadly has absolutely no taste at all ? I had onion bhajis to start and chicken tikka shashlick , keema naan and bhuna sauce .well where to begin the bhajis we’re visually beautiful 3 arrived on the Plate with a salad and mint sauce. On reflection I should have been suspicious how anyone manages to make every single bhaji the same shape and size I don’t know. Now for the eating both myself and my dining partner had the greatest trouble trying to cut them (this was due to the fact they had been fried within an inch of there lives) upon tasting we both looked at each other and said they needed seasoning both salt and pepper and Indian spices too as they tasted of nothing not even of onion ?? We tried to pep them up by adding mint sauce but nope no chance the mint sauce was watered down to the most it can possibly be whilst still remaining a sauce…. STARTER not very good 3/10. Now onto the main course….. chicken tikka shashlick + accompaniments again the dish was very colourful and promised delights just not delivered? It arrived on a sizzler with Copious amounts of peppers and onions plus on closer inspection 1 raw cherry tomato and 2 pickled kebab shop type chilliest buried in the depths ?? What were they doing there? Again this promised much but once again no flavour other than roasted veg chicken looked delicious and was cooked perfectly but had absolutely no spicing to it at all. The Naan was bizarre lovely soft bread but filled with what I can only describe as donner meat and not keema? At least this had some taste even if it was Turkey and not India. Bhuna sauce absolute disaster again no spice this was almost as bland as the onion bhajis and only a back not of tomatoes was tasted. All in all a pretty disappointing dining experience and at just shy of £60 for two with 3 drinks not the cheapest either. Will come back and give it another go although it will be a long while before I do .

Saturday night supper with friends and, while the restaurant was very busy with diners and take-away customers, the food and service were excellent from start to finish. Varied menu, reasonably priced and some nice house wines - well worth a 5* review.

First visit as it was highly recommended and I must say the food was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the manager took time on a busy service to have a chat. It is a 30 minute drive but we’ll worth it and we will definitely be back

Me and my partner visited here after hearing and reading such good reviews about it. We were disappointed to say the least. The food was very bland/tasteless and the portions were small. Will not be returning.

The food is always exellent . and piping hot. So nice down to earth hard working people . Jay the owner and all the staff are lovely. Would recommend lime lounge to anyone. Inexpensive too. See you soon guys

We eat there regularly and frequently,at least once a month .If you like Indian food I can guarantee there will be something (s) on the menu you will love.We all have our favourites from the house specialities and the range of starters is as good as it gets anywhere. The food is great ,the service is good,Children are welcome, there is a reasonable range of reasonably priced ones and alcohol generally, the loos are always clean.

Extremely disappointed with the experience of dining here after reading such great reviews. The manager was extremely rude to my wife after her complaining about the smell and taste of the beer- Cobra on draught. It was clear that the pipes hadn't been cleaned. My wife was not offered a replacement drink and instead was being spoken to in a very rude manner. The food itself was average, strange garnishes on the curry. Extremeley garlicy to the point where I couldn't taste anything but garlic. Will not be returning.

We've been coming to this restaurant for years, we sometimes go to other restaurants and they never come up to the standard of the Lime Lounge. The food here is always superb, the menu is extensive with a far better choice than other places; drinks are not that expensive and the service is inevitably top-notch. Jay and his staff cannot do enough for their customers. This, to my mind is The "Go-to" Indian restaurant in the Manchester area - Forget Wilmslow Road (Curry mile) altogether.

Amazing food and wonderful service. Definitely a place you must try, need to book as it is popular and so always best to book. The food is excellent and all very tasty. Good selection on the menu. A must try restaurant 👍🏻

Booked a table for today, we have never been before despite only living 5 minute walk away, the food was excellent I enjoyed everything, the drinks are well priced, the cobra beer is a nice pint

It gets very busy so you need to book. They have the Covid issue covered well enough. The food here is superb and the menu choice is adequate. This restaurant is a must visit. Don’t hesitate book now you will not be disappointed

Jay and his team never fail to deliver a perfect dining experience. Food exceptional- especially the lamb chop apna style 👌 can’t recommend this place enough if you know a good curry house you really must try this place.

Visited last night. Food very average and prawn tikka main overcooked. Waited nearly an hour for main dish to be served. However no problems with takeaway orders being fulfilled whilst diners waiting for meals and paying to eat in the restaurant.

Sunday evening post, the excesses of Christmas & New year, a birthday meal for 9 family members, without the hassle of cooking or washing up..Restaurant didn’t open till 6pm, and there were several large groups all with the same idea, so some delays were inevitable due to group sizes, but nothing excessive, poppadoms & chutneys keeping the munchies at bay before the main meal.No complaints from our table, even a few leftovers bagged up for consumption the next day. Plenty of takeaway customers, so a popular choice locally.

Excellent Indian cuisine and great staff that are very polite and curtious. Nicely decorated and very clean restaurant and excellent choice from menu. Booking advisable as seems to get very busy certain evenings and weekends.

This restaurant is special.Classy decor and atmosphere.Service is very good, but the food is the star of the show-SUPERBI am a gluten free customer and the chefs cater very well to meet my needs.Menu offers a good selection at competitive prices.The house wine is good and is only around £14 ,which is very reasonable.Best to book as this restaurant is very busy most of the time.

We had a fantastic meal with our very dear friends Mal and Mike last Saturday 24th August. We often go hear as the food and staff are just excellent the very best Indian Restaurant we've been too. So don't delay give it a go you won't regret it.

We've been visiting the Lime Lounge for a few years now and it's always one of our favourite Asian restaurants. The food is consistantly fresh and extremely tasty. Unfortunately, our last visit was no where near the quality we were expecting. I think maybe there is a different chef as the cuisine is noticeably different. The staff are great - just the same as usual, being very friendly and attentive. We will certainly return to Lime Lounge, but I'll need to be sure the quality is back to normal before I do. #tayloredbyus

Been going to the Lime Lounge for around 4 years now with my family.The best Indian Restaurant I’ve ever been to. Food is absolutely unbelievable first and foremost.I have tried almost every dish on the menu and have always left thinking I’ve found a new favourite until the next time I try something different.The staff are absolutely excellent and are very attentive and polite at all times.I love the food that much that I have been twice in a week before now.

This is the first time I had been to this restaurant and I have already booked to go back. The food is simply delicious. If you like fine Indian cuisine, beautifully cooked and presented then this is the place for you. Good service as well.

Spent Christmas day her just my wife and myself has an amazing time. Service was fantastic food as always was great which was anything off the menu. And wasn't overpriced like some places for Christmas day

What can I say another fantastic meal and evening with Jay and his staff.

Booked a table for 7pm last Friday and arrived about 10 minutes early to find the table waiting for us. Courteous service with a smile, handed menu's and drinks order taken within minutes.

Busy Saturday night and glad we had booked. Asked where we would prefer to sit and made to feel very welcome as always. Drinks order taken almost immediately.

Having pre booked we arrived at 8pm. The restaurant was very busy. We were shown our table which was situated behind the glass screen next to the door. Unfortunately the girls were chilly as there was a draft, but there were not any free tables. So my advice is Book a table and ask not to be near the door.

Had yet another lovely meal at the Lime Lounge. Friendly efficient staff and excellent food. I’m looking forward to my next visit

The Lime Lounge never ever disappoints! It is always good whether it be for dine in or a takeaway. The team are always super friendly and always accommodating. We are so lucky to have such a fabulous Indian restaurant on our doorstep. Highly highly highly recommend!

I can only say how wonderful the Lime Lounge is. The staff are brilliant. The surroundings are beautiful and then there is the food. Perfect.

There are so many Indian restaurants.and they certainly vary in quality. This is local to us, and we have been many times, the food is good as is the service, well woth a visit.

Very popular and well deserved indian resturant with serving great food, fabulous duck starter followed a great curry. Staff were great and despite being very busy were courteous and ensured things were fine. Does a great collection service. A great Indian serving lovely food.

Been to a few Indians in the area but non that are as good as the Lime Lounge. Food is excellent and service is always good. You'd be wise to book at weekends at it does get busy.

Entonces las primeras impresiones son muy buenas. El menú es muy impresionante, con una amplia variedad de platos especiales además de curry indio básico. La comida era muy fresca, bien presentada y extremadamente sabrosa.

We all had medium curry dishes and really enjoyed the food. The restaurant was completely full but we still had excellent service, so we shall return before too long.

The Lime Lounge offers excellent Indian cuisine. We enjoyed succulent lamb chops, crispy sea bass fillet, onion bhaji and prawns to start followed by 4 perfectly cooked and individually tasting curries. All the meats and fish were cooked to perfection.

We come here quite regularly with friends and have never had a bad meal to date. The lamb chop starter is delicious and the kitchen is happy to spice up/down your food. Always have a good time in here!

We live about 12 miles from this place and have to pass maybe half a dozen other curry houses to get to this one but we love it here.

Excellent food, great staff and absolutely super value for money. Never fail to impress with attentive service and the interior decor is great but make sure you book as it’s always busy.

I am a regular to The Lime Lounge restaurant in High Lane. This place never fails to impress. I have never had a bad meal here. The staff are always very attentive and friendly. The food is always fabulous. This is by far the best curry place around. I love the chicken tikka Korai, it is always so tasty and fresh.

Friendly greeting. Very quick service. Food packed with fresh ingredients and perfect texture. Prices extremely reasonable for the quality of food.

As always the staff at this restaurant make you feel welcome, never been let down on food and love the little drink of tia maria at the end.

We must confess after searching Stockport’s Indian cuisine restaurants, lime lounge wins hands down on all counts for providing and combining a great atmosphere with quality food and service.Spot on to all at Lime Lounge

We hadn't been to the Lime Lounge for a while and to be honest were a bit concerned about some of the reviews we had read. We needn't have worried. Jay was very attentive from the moment of our arrival, but not over the top. I personally prefer a curry with chicken on the bone and Asian style, and whilst not on the menu, Jay went out of his way to do something for me. I went with his recommendations (wish I could remember what it was called) and it was absolutely delicious! My husband had the chicken balti which was equally good. We chose sag aloo to accompany it with the best chappati I have had in a very long time! Service was great with quite a few people in. We will definitely be back - very shortly! :)

We had a wonderful meal with our friends, starting with pompadoms, starters: Onion Barges x 4,curries x 4,together with a bottle of Pinot for our ladies and Indian beer x 2,finished off with ice cream and coffee. The food and service were excellent. If you want a great evening with fabulous food and service get it booked.

I love going to Lime Lounge. Always greeted with a smile from Jay even when he's rushing around or very very busy evenings.He's made an effort to remember the kids names and they are always please to see him and the rest of the staff.The food is always excellent whether eating in or taking out with ever dish having their own unique flavours whether they be spicy or mild.I've arrived many an early evenings before the rush and Jay has taken time to come sit and chat which is a nice touch. Worth a visit!

We decided to give this place a try for somewhere we’d not been before. Initially all looked good, there were a few people in and we thought it must be ok despite the odd dodgy review. Anyway waiter came looked very miserable, took our orders and we thought maybe it was a bad day for him. The food arrived, delivered by another miserable waiter and to say it was bland and tasteless is an understatement. I had a chicken balti which looked a bit like a very mild Korma and tasted of nothing to be honest. My wife had a Prawn Bhuba which was ok but tomatoe and my sons madras was tasteless but just spicey. We were looking at maybe booking a curry house for Xmas day but after this visit we won’t be going back here again.

After a few recommendations, my wife and I decided to visit the lime lounge for a meal and I have to say we were extremely disappointed. The service through was terrible. We were served by a number of waiters, all of which were rude and aloof. The food was okay, nothing special. We definitely will not be visiting again!

We have frequented this restaurant on numerous occasions for meals and for take aways. Each time, despite a good standard of food, the abruptness of the staff has been notable. At first we thought it was just the owner, but his son (or manager) leads his staff in an offhand manner - they are dismissive, arrogant and unwelcoming. They are not inexpensive either. Very disappointing service!!

The food was superb and the staff were really accommodating to fit in our fairly large group, very last minute following over-booking at a different restaurant. The service was quite slow, but admittedly we were a large group and we weren't in a hurry. Very enjoyable.

The food is embarrassingly poor, but the service and attitude of staff is a massive problem.Curries are mediocre and I will be honest the nan bread was fresh for that reason I gave a point ! This place is only open in my opinion because of its location in High Lane as it has no competition Even I was desperate to eat , I would never return get a sandwich from the Petrol Station and it would taste better.Avoid at all costs.

we've been recommended by a friend, we booked a table for 7.30pm on 01/05/2017 (Bank Holiday Monday), we had to wait over half an hour to be seated and the wait for the food was ages too! some of the waiters are very friendly and some are very arrogant, the curry dishes were bland, the tandoori chicken was raw, the coconut nan was like deep fried in honey.

The food was lovely when we called in last night, couldn't fault it. It's just a shame the staff were very unwelcoming. The older staff were pleasant and welcoming and did everything to make us feel comfortable, the younger staff on the other hand made us feel very on edge and unwelcome. If that is they make customers feel, we're not sure we will be returning. It's a shame because the food was gorgeous.

This was our first visit, we had a kima nan which didn't have hardly any fillings in, we had a chicken tandoori which was tasteless. The service was standard. Wouldn't recommend to anyone.

We had a wonderful meal and the younger staff made us feel so welcome. Why is it though that the older generation are so unable to learn from their younger staff. I presume he was the owner as he had that dismissive unfriendly air, so rude and unnecessary. A tip from a regular customer. Take a backseat and let the 21st century expectations be realised by trained, friendly young staff. Shame because the food is consistently fantastic.

Highly recommended to everyone, families, couples, young families too. We have been coming here for years and we have never had a bad meal or bad experience. We've both eaten in and taken out and the food is consistently outstanding. The food is beautiful and so fresh, really Tasty. The restaurant is spotless, gleaming white tablecloths and sparkling clean cutlery. The atmosphere is lovely. You're met with a very warm welcome from smart friendly staff that are attentive and helpful and work very hard. Hats off to the management as they've obviously got it right here and they're on the shop floor as it were, involved and working very hard too, making sure you're enjoying your meal and that everything is running smoothly. The restaurant is always busy which shows that people love It here.We wouldn't go anywhere else and many of our friends are regular customers too so it's not just what we think

I was invited by two friends to join them for a meal at The Lime Lounge on Saturday night. The restaurant was very well presented and was very busy. I ordered lamb cutlets as a starter and they were beautifully seasoned- a real treat. For my main course I had a Jal Tarang using lamb together with mushroom rice and a tarka dahl. The quality of the food was of a very high standard, very generous in terms of quantity and very reasonably priced.The only draw back was less than attentive service (causing a long delay between courses) although it should be emphasised it was very busy.I look forward to revisiting but, perhaps, on a quieter night.

Been to many restaurants but this one is top of the class. Service is always good, staff always polite and the menu is a little bit different to normal plus all the normal meals as well.Been to Lime Lounge many times and will continue to do so

You know how most Indian restaurants are pretty much the same? Well this one is a bit different. You can probably get all the usual things but there is a good list of specials and chef's recommendations too, so why not try something new? The salmon tikka starter was fabulous, cooked just right, and so tasty. Lighting is spot on, service friendly and quick (but not too quick) and good value. We'll definitely be going back.

This is an Amazing restaurant, the food is so unique tasty and fresh, the staff ar all wonderful too.The Lime Lounge is in a very rich area of Stockport on the way to Disley and Lyme Park in a countryside setting..Tnight was my first time here off a reccomendation and it is outstanding.FYI I had the Chicken Jalfrezi and chicken chat with garlic nan.I love Indian food, this is my new favourite..Give it a try you will love the Lime Lounge.

These folks have it down, from the absolutely excellent Indian cuisine to knowing exactly how to treat customers - we were checked in on frequently enough without being in the least badgered. Even the manager (at least, he appeared to be the manager) stopped by our table to ask how everything was. The food, the wine, and the service were outstanding.

Visited on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed which in itself is a measure of how highly this restaurant is regarded and an indication you need to reserve a table!The restaurant has a classy cool feel, and the staff were welcoming, polite & efficient. However we were blown away by the exceptionally good, well proportioned food which we felt was great value too as the prices were really very reasonable! Overall this is an outstanding restaurant I will definitely be recommending to friends!

As previously great food and great service. Came here after disappointingly finding the pub across the road was no longer a gastro pub. Interior is nice and the staff were really friendly. Food was quick in coming out for a Saturday evening, and all tasted fresh and was hot. Always delivers good food and a reasonable price.

Probably the best Indian food I have ever eaten. A real gem which never disappoints. The restaurant itself is spotlessly clean, tastefully decorated and the staff are very attentive. The food is always simply sublime, very very tasty and I would not choose another restaurant to eat at over this one. It's a must visit.

This was some of the best Indian food I have ever tasted- and that includes our travels to India, Sri Lanka and Little India in Singapore.The dishes we had were really delicious, imaginative and well presented and the service was good.There is a wide choice on the menu and an added bonus was how reasonably priced the dishes were. The restaurant has a very pleasant atmosphere and the staff are lovely.I would highly recommend the Lime Lounge.

This is a first class restaurant. Very clean and the same goes for the toilets. The staff are very welcoming and the food is just wonderful . Prices are very competitive and drinks also very reasonable. Highly recommended.

This was my first visit to this restaurant with friends. As others say , really clean , modern bright decor inside so a good start. We had various different dishes and accompaniments and we all thought the food was very good. I wouldn't say the service was particularly over friendly as you get in a lot of restaurants but it was efficient enough for us on the night and I would recommend and come back again .

We were taken here by our family who are regular customers. What an experience! Superb food and excellent service. This really is a very special place. Never had food like it in the UK. Will be back before we go home. Thank you all so much.

The restaurant is quite large, very clean & tastefully decorated.The food was spot on really tasty. The only thing I wasn't keen on was fish Biraan but that's a personal taste.We will definitely be returning & soon. Great find.
