The Lido Cafe in City of London, Westminster

Abbiamo mangiato la classica colazione inglese con bagel uovo e pancetta e ci è piaciuta molto. Il locale è vicinissimo al Diana Memorial. Presenta una vista spettacolare sull’ Hyde Park: sedersi sulle sedie a bordo fiume sorseggiando un caffè è rilassante. Consiglio questo locale sia per la pulizia che per il cibo. (accetta solo carte)

Long wait for food, and my pot tea was just hot water and no milk. The food was ok when it arrived but not worth the money paid, staff kept saying food was on its way - it wasn’t. The buzzer given to tell us food was ready was broken, but staff just said they’d find us. When i took tea pot back i was just handed a tea bag, had to insist i had fresh hot water rather than the water i’d left thinking my tea was brewing

Ordered one meat and one beetroot burger only one came with coleslaw, just a tiny spoonful. Complained to the waiter who said that is the portion size. Had to go to the manager to get the coleslaw we had paid for. Paid £50 for 2 very ordinary burgers with 2 drinks, poor service and poor food quality. Stick to the drinks.

My walking group and I stopped off here for a drink. Lovely cup of tea, great service, and an amazing view of the Serpentine.

The Lido has a nice view next to Serpentine. Fish and cheaps and soups are ok. I don't like to have a coffee in this place because the coffee cup like a pot and the coffee is getting cold immediately.

Don’t be put off by the somewhat unwelcoming interior. The service was very friendly and fast. The food was excellent (one of best burgers we’ve had in ages).

I’m disabled and needed some slightly extra service. The waitress didn’t answer when I politly said thank you many times. One dark woman gave me looks like she hated me. The accessible door was blocked by people. The toilet was a bit too small for my scooter so s staff helped me move out the dustbin, also no answer when I thanked her, just an annoyed look. The place wasn’t very full but noisy Music and slam from the kitschen. Since they have this location they don’t have to be nice. Don’t recommend this place at all!

Sitio tranquilo para desayunar y con buenas vistas, pero la relación calidad es mala. De los cuatro des ayunos de Londres éste fue el peor. Donuts con buena pinta, pero no sé de cuándo sería, creo que de un día para otro no se ponen así de duros . Para un café, bien

Lovely lunch in a great location, in the sunshine next to the serpentine. Food choice is excellent and reasonably priced for London. Lots of outdoor seating in the sun next to the water which makes for a lovely relaxing afternoon. Good choice of drinks too and prices are reasonable.

Amazing location and perfect spot to relax in the sun! Order a coffee and lounge for ages watching ducks play. Always busy so getting a seat in summer is tricky but it is a perfect spot to daydream !

This cafe was the best, for location, quality of food and superb service! I was here during the Coronation of King Charles with two friends of mine. Fish & chips were perfect with mushy peas and tartare sauce…

Beautiful view outside over the Serpentine, and coffee and pastries good. But this place needs some more staff or someone to actually care for it. Slow service, tables filthy, rubbish everywhere on floor and in planters, overgrown and weeds in planters, toilets filthy. The few waiting staff there were trying their hardest, it's obvious there just aren't enough people doing the tasks . It's not cheap, and you're paying for the location, so make that location look good

Após muito caminhar pelos parques Kesington e Hyde e café cedo no hotel, um almoço nesse restaurante foi tudo o que eu mais necessitava. A comida é excelente, o atendimento muito atencioso, local super agradável e o custo-benefício no meu ponto de vista é bem acessível. Recomendo!

Having checked the Royal Parks website and spoken with the staff, I was told that the Rooftop bar and cafe would be open until 8pm. I planned a visit with a friend and met at 6pm, to be told that they were closing everything because it wasn't sufficiently busy - we were allowed one drink and then kicked out. Not impressive, and a brand damaging experience for Royal Parks ..... they need to be honest and warn people that the opening hours are dependent on customer levels and, therefore, relatively arbitrary.

J'ai dû faire le mauvais choix car le wrap à £9 était très ordinaire et franchement pas bon. Un truc sympa cependant, on vous donne de l'eau gratos avec des glaçons et ce lundi 18 juillet par 37° ce fut apprécié

I waited more than half an hour for a cooked breakfast: they have invested in strange ‘tracker’ devices, which they tell you to place on the table. They either don’t work or the clearly disaffected staff don’t care. When I finally went to ask what happened, the sad, dried-out breakfast was sitting under a lamp. It looked so frankly disgusting I was no longer hungry. I opted for a refund, but not before the offensive coffee maker accused me of ‘shouting’. I wasn’t - but was sorely tempted. The manager had the grace to apologise - I felt sorry for him. He clearly couldn’t manage his way out of a paper bag. The Royal Parks should be ashamed of this establishment and should urgently reconsider their ill-advised ‘makeover’.

Visited with a friend last week, and although the weather was lovely - and the outside area was busy. We were dissapointed. I sat at a table inside next to a group of people on laptops (we later reallised they were management for the cafe). My friend queued for 15 minutes for a coffee and a cake while one very efficient, friendly member of staff served a very long line of customers. After waiting, my friend approached the managers, who were ordering supplies (something that was not time critical) and asked them why they were completing admin. One of the managers responded - we are short staffed and have called more staff to come. This is not the answer - three managers joining their team could have cleared the queue quickly and led by example - even after my friend spoke with them they continued their admin, and a number of other kitchen staff approached with basic questions - which indicated a lack of training. Management terrible, not coaching and leading by example - maybe a crash course in the basics of people management might be a good idea? We won’t be returning as this ruined the whole experience.

I visited London yesterday with my teen daughters, it was cold and rainy, miserable weather. We had 45 minutes to kill before our slot at the science museum, so I decided I wanted to see the Princess Diana Memorial. My children really wanted to sit and have a drink. We popped into the Lido Bar and Cafe, made our order and sat down. We choose cookies and a cinnamon bun from the counter and my children both chose a hot drink eat, mocha and hot chocolate. My eldest loves coffee, and my youngest loves hot chocolate, so far, what I make at home has been sufficient. Well, now I need to up my game as my eldest described this as the best mocha she’s ever had in her 14 years of life! They were both very eager to thank the maker of these awesome drinks and I’ve been roped into purchasing a bag of their coffee beans and a fancy cafetière! Brilliant clean, light and airy cafe. Friendly staff, and all round nice experience.

We often pop in for a coffee & a bite to eat at this time of year, plus its very close to Diana’s memorial & of course the lido, don’t be tempted to jump in, it’s colder than a penguins buts & that’s cold. People do swim in the lido in the summer & it’s looks so refreshing, but alas not for us. The cafe serves food & alcohol which is handy, you need the alcohol before & after the lido at this time of year & the hot food, lots go for the fish & chips & the view from the cafe is hard to beat while you have your lunch. I’ll be back !!!

Visited on a cold day. Entrance door left open and make cafe and our food unpleasantly cold. We asked manager to close but she said it had to be left open as can’t be opened from outside. ( suggest invest in a door handle!?) Ruined our visit. Great on a summers day but not when it’s cold- wasted potential for sake of a door that opens

What a view !! , a spectacular view , I went for a chat and some drinks with a friend , very satisfied experience, the lake gave it a sensational feeling and it was quite vibrant but not that noisy .... we felt so comfortable with the atmosphere and enjoyed a good time ...Definitely I would visit again ....

Had the most disgusting mojito that costs £8, it is undrinkable and dumped it in the bin where it belongs. Went to nearby Serpentine Gallery and ordered an actual drink. Having just come back from holiday in Europe, I’m reminded that just how low quality and expensive things can be in the UK, no matter how much you pay. Parliament should pass a law: for inefficient market such as Hyde Park, monopolistic businesses like this one should be fined by enough complaints to make up for lack of competition.

The Roof Top bar, tantalised on a hot day as we walked along the lake front. Signs pointed us in one direction - Lido staff said differently, and eventually we found an entrance! Ordering remotely from a bar that was very quiet took time and it was clear that we could have gone to the bar without all the techno fuss. On enquiry we found there was no food available as it as not a weekend - what a missed opportunity! We won't dash back!

This place is absolutely scenic and was a pleasant find from the Serpentine Lake where we had paddled. We went to check out the fuss as you do and as aforementioned it is scenic and aesthetically stunning. The only problem is, the menu only had drinks! No food or snacks. That was a massive let down!

This morning a famous photographer and I decided to buy a bacon and sausage bap.It was served up within minutes well packed. Both of us on taking the first bite were astonished to eat such a bad bap. The bacon and sausage was hard, cold and definitely not fresh.We returned the baps for a full credit which was given without question. A man came who I presume was the manager accusing me of being rude to the girl who took the order, this was a complete fabrication. I advised that I was allied to the restaurant trade which he dismissed.The food was so bad over priced that I would suggest that anyone ordering either of these products ask whether they are freshly cooked which was not the case with our baps.

Hyde Park is pretty huge so when you’re walking round and in need of a good cup of coffee and a bit to eat this place is great. We were able to load up on food for mum, dad and the kids and then make our way through the rest of the park.

burgers @ £8.50 are expensive, but, supply and demand, etc. Song thrushes waiting to be fed were a novelty!

Nice space near the Serpentine lake. Swimming facility is also available here. Nearby are the free toilets in case of need. Princes Diana fountain is also close by for the kids to enjoy. Good food, good coffee, good service and reasonable price attracts. Nice place to go down with family.

After walking to see the sights in and around this area, we took a much needed coffee break. We sat and relaxed at a table and chairs, right by the water. It was peaceful here, watching the Canada geese, and the swans, swimming about. Lots of tables and chairs, further over. We didn't really know this place was here, but we found it after wandering, the area. We were glad this was here re. a washroom break, and caffeine boost!

Ao lado do lago serpentine fica esse café que abre as 8h00 e tem um excelente atendimento. Pedi um croassant e um pão de chocolate que estavam uma delícia. Preço dentro da média de Londres (tudo caro). Vale a pena. Tem uma vista linda.

Our Walking Group meet in Hyde Park once a month and usually have lunch in one of the restaurants. This month we chose this cafe and sat outside. The view is very nice. I found the weather too cold to have a main meal, knowing it would go cold immediately, so I had the soup of the day which was butternut squash. It was very nice and hot. My friends had sandwiches. The birds came on the table, even though we didn't encourage them. Another diner, picked up bread from the floor putting it on our table!! The birds went into overdrive. It was not enjoyable.I don't mind to eat inside in the future as it looks cosy and the fish and chips or burger sound good for a lunch after walking a long way.The adjoining ladies toilets were short of toilet rolls but it was free of charge.

Good place for a break. Staff totally ignorant and bored. They served nice breakfast. We just had a cappuccino.

Let us order just before closing, spent £50 on drinks and then told to leave almost immediately as they were closing and needed to clean. Order HOT chocolates that were almost stone cold. No leeway and no mention that they were closing shortly when we entered. All clientele turfed out into rain, no sign on door saying it was closing. Just appalling. Never again will we visit this place.

We ate a late breakfast here in their outdoor dining area on a beautiful morning in August. The eggs Benedict and avocado on toast were both tasty, however, even though we informed the staff about our kids' food allergy to sesame seeds, the bread which was used for the avocado on toast had sesame seeds all over the crust. Fortunately, we noticed the sesame before any of our kids took a bite, and avoided a potential trip to the hospital.

Pleasant breakfast, although it was quite expensive, I was very surprised to only get one piece of toast with my avocado on toast, I would have been better off ordering the full English breakfast that my husband had for not much more money!

My wife and I were out walking through beautiful Hyde Park along the side of the Serpentine when we stumbled upon the Lido.

Whilst I was swimming in the Serpentine my wife settled herself down here to eat a snack and drink a coffee. They have a nice sunny outside area by the lake and an inside area which is a bit noisy but pleasant enough. We enjoyed toasted sandwiches and thought the prices reasonable. A nice place on a weekend!

Good food and view but very busy and noisy. Starlings are extremely obnoxious. Still, a good place to refuel when exploring Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens.

An absolutely stunning location on the waterside, a great place to relax, watch the swans, pedal boats and people wandering by. Or it would be except today it’s virtually standing room only, all the tables are full and people are searching for a little shade.

Panini veramente da evitare, qualità pessima, pollo imbevuto di una salsa piccantissima, e ingredienti non specificati ne dal cameriere ne dall’incarto. Personalmente mi è rimasto indigesto per tutta la sera e ho dovuto ricorrere a un antinausea. Super sconsigliato.

In 2019, Lido don’t accept scottish money. Looks like this place is underpaying tax and keeping cash through a second book. I can’t think of any other reason. Totally embarrassing 🤣

El bar Lido Cafe es mi lugar favorito para ir a Hyde Park. En la lluvia de Londres, sentado al lado del estanque, disfrutando de un café caliente mientras observa el pato y los gansos, lloviznando por todas partes, cuan más soñador puede ser.

The Lido Cafe Bar is chilled and relaxed - perfect for a sunny day. Wide range of drinks and food is ok. It’s a good option to combine with exploring the area or after a swim.

This place is on the south side of the serpentine probably mid way between the serpentine bridge and hyde park corner. It looks lovely and full of character and has seating for over 100 outside I would say. When the sun shines it shines here! They have breakfast, lunch, pizza (about £10), beer (a pint of Kronenburg is £5.50) - I had a nice orange juice for £3. But what is really good here is that you can sit in the sun, watch the swans and boaters on the serpentine, people watch around the café area and just relax - it's hard to believe that you're in central London! Lots of tourists and Londoners mixing - it really is worth a visit. There are toilets to the side and they were clean today :) Next time I see the sun after work I shall be heading back here.

A lovely cafe right next to the Princess Diana memorial. Mauricio was amazing...so welcoming and went out of his way to be helpful. Despite being near closing time , he and Martina were superstars. Hope to go back very soon. Excellent friendly and knowledgeable staff like this make such a difference to a jetlagged traveler far from home.Thank you!

Nice Bar in Hyde park. Great pits stop when walking in park. Little bit expensive, but suitable price in place. View is very nice.

I can’t rate it with one star only since the location is superb. Surely you can come to this bar for a drink and relax in front of the Serpentine. But avoid the food at all cost. We got two expensive hamburgers that were over cooked and not tasty. Surely it can be improved.

Visited cafe today with my daughter. Lovely day and location however spoilt by terrible customer service. My daughter went in to order tea, cappuccino and porridge. She was given tea and told the rest of order would be brought out and given a wooden table marker with number on to locate us.

The most expensive and worst bacon roll I've ever had. Absolutely inedible. Cheap streaky bacon, barely filling the roll and fried to a cinder. The first time I've ever returned food and asked for my money back.

Lovely location by the lake, with indoor & outdoor seating. Both had scrambled eggs & bacon with coffee. Quick service & good breakfast. My only criticism (and this goes for nearly all eateries in UK!)...please: if you offer self serve water, please provide hard plastic cups which can be put in the dishwasher & re-used. Everywhere we went, disposable plastic cups were provided. Everywhere I live (Manly NSW), cafes provide hard coloured plastic cups.

Located right in the heart of Hyde Park, Lido Cafe Bar offers beautiful views along the Serpentine. It is worth visiting to enjoy the sun and the beautiful scenery whilst enjoying a cup of tea or coffee. However, please, be aware that service is very very slow. How does waiting in a queue for more than 15-20 minutes for a hot drink sound to you? If you are in a rush, there are far better places to go.

Nous avons déjeuné dans cet endroit en famille, un stop idéal au cours d’une journée de visite. Des tables à l’extérieur, près de l’eau au milieu du parc les enfants sont donc libres (et les parents aussi donc) la nourriture y est variée et plutôt bonne tout le monde a apprécié le moment.

Being in a very popular tourist location, one would expect better ambiance and service at the Lido Cafe Bar. Being one of the 3 ( that I know of) cafe in Hyde Park , my expectations are perhaps higher than normal. I would have preferred this cafe to offer fine dinning as well as casual. The casual bit is served by the outdoor seating area, but unfortunately no fine evening dinner date here.

We stopped here for a quick bite and we ordered food and drinks. I asked what the soup of the day was and I was told is tomato and basil. When it arrived it was peas soup. When I went to clarify I was told that I can either eat my soup or get the money back. Although these seem like fair options, what was I meant to do? Watch the rest of the family eating their dishes and me thinking about my lost tomato soup? The shift manager or whoever he was asked me who served me. When i showed him the person who served me he quickly said ‘she is new’. Like this is the new trend for getting poor service. There were no appologies and i was treated with no empathy. There are worse things that can happen in life compared with getting the wrong soup but in the future I will spend my money elsewhere.

We came here for a quick refreshment break after walking about in the sun. It was the slowest service known to man, the queue was not even that big. I’d avoid this place as you can get better quality food for the same price elsewhere! However location is spot on and you can enjoy the sights and Hyde park!

Had a great coffee here on a sunny midweek day with the family during half term. The location is great and the coffee and cakes on offer were great. Well worth a stop, and so much more character than a co$ta.

Always pop into here on a visit to Hyde Park, it has fairly cheap snacks and is in a pleasant situation at the side of the Serpentine. It’s a lovely place to relax have a drink and watch the world go by.

The Lido easily has the worst coffee in London. I asked for my coffee to be remade which they happily did but it was still disgusting. So disappointed to walk away from the coffee but there was no way I could drink it. Service is very poorly organised for a busy Sunday morning. Won’t be coming back

Mooi weer, heel veel mensen in Hyde Park en dus heel erg druk. Wachttijden voor eten was minimaal een uur, dus dat maar overgeslagen en het bij een drankje gelaten. Buiten erg gezellig aan het water maar de keuken is duidelijk niet op zo veel mensen berekend.

Entramos para un bocado rápido. Mi acompañante tenía una sopa de zanahoria y lentejas que estaba deliciosa, pero tuvimos que pedir que la recalentaran, ya que se servía menos que caliente. El pan que lo acompañaba no era fresco. Tuve un bollo con crema coagulada y mermelada. El bollo estaba casi añejo y la mermelada era de mala calidad. En general, es una excelente ubicación, pero me decepcionó no tener pan y bollos frescos.

We came in here for lunch of soup and sandwiches. The quality was very nice although it was a little pricey. The hot food looked nice as did the cakes. If the weather is good you can sit outside by the lake.

We came here often for a one drink. Nice place to rest your feet and watch the people walking by. And there is a toilet.

Vi spiste morgenmad på denne skønne café. Der var ikke for mange mennesker og det var et fint udvalg. Noget for en hver smag. Venligt personale. Det der sætter prikken over i'et er beliggenden. Inde midt i Hyde Park ned til vandet. Helt klart et sted jeg vil komme igen og anbefale til andre.

Strolling through Hyde Park we decided to stop here for lunch. Had 2 delicious vegan mains, so good we thanked the chef afterwards. An unexpected surprise, even for London.

Found this while escaping the hustle and bustle. Nice view over the lake and really reasonably priced drinks. Didn’t have any food but it was a welcome break and a pleasant surprise not to be overcharged for our drinks like everywhere else in London. Only downside is the birds that dot around picking up scraps from the tables as every table is covered in bird poo and my daughter came away covered it in too.

This is a nice place but the food is limited, it gets too crowded. The location is good, just by the lake. Do not expect too much variety when it comes to food, just the basics, coffee cake etc.

Reasonably priced café in the middle of Hyde Park. The only down side not enough staff to clear the out side seating area of leftover food, lots of birds landing on the tables. Nice place to stop for a break, friendly staff.

We only had a tea, but wouldn't come back for food. Just not convinced. Service wasn't friendly nor quick. Nice location, next to the water in the sun.

If you arrive too early they are not ready. Food was ok for a simple break but do not expect restaurant quality. The setting if nice beside the lake with a chance to calm and clear the head.

So difficult to spread old clotted cream on ever older scones that crumble down. It's very disappointing.

The food was good but the chips (£3.95) weren't as hot as we would have expected. We also had Lamb kofte, salad, khobez, chilli & garlic sauces at £12 which was very tasty and a small mixed leaves side salad for £3.50.

We came across this cafe whilst just wandering around Hyde park. We ordered then sat outside, which normally would have been trouble free but there were numerous wasps, which made eating problematic. However we managed to complete our lunch without being stung!

Simple options for a great location, right in the heart of Hyde Park, ducks, tourists, people watching is basically key here, especially if the weather works out. A good pre-lunch or pre-dinner.

We’d been for a swim and as the cafe was there it was convenient for food. The seating provided a great view so the setting was the best thing about the cafe

For a scenic touristy location in central London, high prices and mediocre food are not that much of a surprise and rather go with the territory. The very slow service even on a not particularly busy weekday morning, however, is another matter.

Estábamos buscando un lugar especial para el almuerzo y casi nos decidimos, ya que el menú parecía un poco simple y más de un café - el menú tenía hamburguesas y patatas fritas, pizzas y ese tipo de comida. Pero terminamos el vegetariano más delicioso kebab"" - falafel con ensalada,Aperol Spritz, y como bebida.
