Disappointing Service Experience When I brought my own cup, I’d accidentally left a small amount of coffee in it. Instead of a polite reminder, the barista raised her voice at me, making the situation very uncomfortable. At the same time, two other baristas were conversing loudly in Russian, which added to the unease. On a separate visit, I inquired about an issue with my subscription card not working. The cashier responded with, ‘I don’t know, I’m not IT,’ which didn’t feel like a customer-focused approach. I believe the service could be more considerate and professional. I wouldn’t recommend this Pret to anyone.

The layout and seating space in this Pret are actually good, but sadly that's where the positives end. It's simply not staffed to deal with it's customer levels and the section at the front for ordering and receiving coffees is too chaotic, it really is too cramped and ultimately a mess. The general cleanliness and tidyness are also...not good. Customer service is hit and miss, morning workers always were fine but other times of day they just don't seem trained at all - have gone in several times with workers stocking shelves but nobody behind the counter despite queues forming. One to avoid.

I am a regular customer for more than a two months now. Friendly staff which is the first place when I give a review. The drink is quite good for the price. Specially with the subscription discount. Despite the place fully packed all the time, but the place always clean and organised. The service always respectful and nice. Never seen the corner where the sugar, tissues etc placed empty. The toilet always open and clean which is not easy in coffee shops. I have seen many branches where they lock the toilet and write it is broke for weeks just to not bother clean it but here never seen such thing. 5 starts of course.

Nice freshly prepared food of not a tad expensive

The customer should be the priority. It would be a matter of purchasing the right tools to make good matcha. I don't want to drink undiluted matcha powder. The matcha must be stirred with hot water until the powder completely disappears.

Great coffee and food, but this branch needs to improve its cleanliness and hygiene. I've noticed this issue on several visits; each time, I've had to wipe down the table and chairs, which seemed like they hadn't been cleaned since the day before. A thorough deep cleaning is definitely needed!

Coffee was as good as any pret! The problem was the barista who mouthed 'f off' after serving every customer with a strained smile.

I went to Pret in temple today. I ordered a chai latte and realised that I hadn’t mentioned that I don’t take normal milk. I said literally 30 seconds after, and their response was ‘it’s already made, you should have said’. I told them that I don’t take normal milk and their response was ‘what do you expect me to do, throw it away’. I wouldn’t recommend going, the way that they address their customers is unkind.

Drink quality highly contingent on the staff. Usual staff is pretty good, but can be very busy at times and you get undrinkable coffee at those busy times. Prefer the Pret that’s right in front of the Royal courts of Justice over this one

The manager of this venue is extremely rude-- go to the lovely pret on Kingsway. Over the years I have seen them do many things lacking customer care---including yelling at me today for a coffee they themselves ordered wrongly and never apologized. When I asked for my money back they charged me twice. Avoid by all means.

The coffee is the same as any other Pret! However, I find the staff here to be really mean and judgemental. They clearly don’t want to be there, and I was met with nothing but hostility when someone took my drink. Go to the Pret across the road, on the Strand Underpass. It’s much better and has a kinder service.

Cafe is fine but the single unisex toilet is tiny and dirty. Big queue, completely inadequate. Why not open the accessible toilet too?

Great coffeee but the biggest let down is the gentleman behind the counter. He is so rude and careless. He spoke rudely towards the lady next to me, which I’m sure must of ruined the start to her morning. I don’t know why he feels he needs to project his insecurities on other people. Great customer service is essential in the hospitality sector, so I don’t understand why Pret has allowed someone so inadequate to be working there. If he is so unhappy about himself he should be taking the steps to improve himself both emotionally and physically - not taking it out on others and his coworkers. Destroys the vibe.

Cleanliness: The whole place was immaculate, and the staff were attentive. Coffee: Always good, and my complicated order was fulfilled perfectly. Food Selection: Varied, with fresh sandwiches, salads, and fruit pots. Overall, Pret A Manger at 190 Strand offers a pleasant experience with good coffee and a variety of food options. 🥪☕🥞

We can't necessarily blame the business for the filthy habits of the customers. But it's not pleasant having a table full of other peoples' debris, and which hadn't been wiped clean of spilt drinks. And further debris on the floor. The shop has bins for disposing of waste but some people are too lazy to use them. That said, they have a good selection of wraps, paninis etc and the coffee is great although I would prefer it sold in proper mugs not those paper things.

Red Thai Vegetable soup was lukewarm. Should have been piping hot.

This is now the 87th Pret that I have visited here in London and it definitely was as much of a Pret as I expected it to be.

I visited this Pret quite often. But today I was let down by the lady at the counter. I ordered an iced drink with oat milk, clearly specifying my preference, and confirmed this twice (cuz she thought i just want oat milk). Yet at the end I was given a hot one. What made it worse was that instead of helping the customer and fixing the mistake, she insisted I ordered wrong. To save time, I just asked for ice cubes. It doesn't matter who made the mistake. But solving customer's request is the priority. I hope the staff can improve communication and rectify mistakes promptly in the future.

Sandwiches always underfilled and staff are rude. The really short guy with the beard needs an attitude check. His only job is to shout out what drink is in his hand, and hand it to the person who bought it. He can't even do this without behaving like a petulant little manchild. Looking at other reviews my experience is not unique. Judging by how empty the place is compared to the pret 100 yards away tells me everything about where this is going for them.

Racism!!!!! I am deeply disappointed by the disturbing incident that occurred at PRET this Wednesday. My friend and I were subjected to blatant racism by a staff member, specifically a black woman. When asking about a drink, she not only ignored us but also responded with disrespectful eye gestures, leaving us feeling offended and angered. Our attempts to address the issue were met with further rudeness, as she dismissively uttered the word "Chocolate." Seeking an apology, we were stunned when another staff member instructed us not to talk.

Staff in this place are so rude with a horrible attitude, the man with the pink hair and a lady with blondish brown hair so rude asked to use the toilet explained the situation and they came back with snobby and sarcastic comments no customer service whatsoever it’s appalling

Bad experience, I ordered a oat cappuccino, the lady said I ordered a cappuccino because I was with my earphones, then she started arguing with me, I left without anything, never go again to this shop.

I’ve always had nice experiences coming back here every week. The food is very tasty, coffee is good and the service very quick and friendly - recommended for a drink and snack during the day. The only major criticism I have is on the feeling of safety when sitting in the venue itself. I had an unsettling experience when a group of women entered, surrounded myself and other customers and tried to steal phones and belongings by distracting with selling a newspaper. As it all happened very quickly and the ladies left after being unsuccessful, no member of staff realised/was informed. Please be careful and I hope this will be sorted in future.

Very nice in a great location but a little on the expensive side

I’m writing this review for Pret at 217 Strand (strangely it is not on Google maps). Excellent place among other Prets. Pleasant to be, pleasant to drink your tea, coffee or hot chocolate. Barista Mariia was nice, welcoming and professional! Drinks were fantastic:) You’re lucky, Pret, to have her in your team!

Served luke warm coffee by a young short chap with a beard. Asked for it to be warmed up he refused. Awful service, I guess Pret just hire whoever can work these days and provide zero training. To be honest its just a late what training do staff need, but they still manage to make a rubbish coffee 😂😂 a joke.

I am very sorry that the management of this establishment is an incredibly rude, racist person, with behavior far outside the standard. I've had several experiences where, due to their behavior, I was discouraged from taking the coffee I had ordered and paid for. Each time, I waited more than 35 minutes, and my day was ruined by their irritating and hysterical behavior. How can an establishment tolerate such individuals who cause distress to customers and harm the business? Every employee in that establishment represents your business, and their ugly, destructive, and anti-customer behavior is a reflection of your brand."

The manager displayed a complete lack of professionalism and courtesy. Instead of managing a minor delay in service, she resorted to yelling at customers, creating a tense and uncomfortable atmosphere. My attempt to inquire about my order was met with hostility and public humiliation. This kind of behavior is unacceptable in any customer service setting, and it's disheartening to see it in a well-known establishment like Pret. I hope my review serves as a warning to others about this specific branch. The manager's conduct was not just disappointing; it was disgraceful.

Extremely slow service. 3 or 4 people standing at a kiosk taking orders and only 2 baristas slowly preparing drinks behind them?! A completely inefficient waste of resources. When I was younger I worked at Costa and I would have stopped taking orders for a few minutes to actually help my colleagues prepare the drinks…

Rubbish service. We went on Tuesday 28th of November around 5pm. We have done a £17 ordered, where we asked for a mix of bakery and hot drinks. Among the drinks we've ordered a Mocha and she gave us Matcha. We brought the Matcha back (untouched) and asked to kindly receive what we ordered. She said it was not possible and that we had to take it otherwisewe had to pay again to get what we ordered. Unbelievable service. Terrible.

An Indian/Black male staff is extremely disrespectful and rude to customers, on which he proudly acclaimed ‘Go file a complaint! Go talk to my manager!’ Lack of manner or work ethics is one thing, be proud of it is however, next level. As seen in other reviews, bad service in this store is a culture they celebrate.

Filthiest place I've seen in London, and that's something to say. No tables clean, full of bread crumbs, empty glasses, etc. And it wasn't full nor were the tills busy so they couldn't clean them up. No place to seat cos every table was filthy. Bathroom was so disgusting MEN left in terror, as soon as they opened the door of it. Go literally anywhere else.

Don't appreciate the staff taking her temper out on the customer... She made a mistake herself and gave me the answer that it is my mistake of saying iced latte instead of cold latte? I just wonder what's wrong with saying iced latte? I know they are all very busy and being too busy can make people impatient. But I still won't go again.

They take too many orders in but too few people preparing the drinks, therefore long waiting time. They need a better system

Food is ok just as other Pret do. But the service is terrible. I saw a staff who is black shouting to some Asians with no reasons. Feel horrible to be in a place with such obvious racism. I am Pret member for half the year and this is the only place I met such a thing. I don’t want to be rude but next time if I saw such a thing, I would record the process and press it in the social media or send complaints to their heads.

RACIST Staff there, just had the most special time ever! The same woman appeared in other comments at that place is generously sharing her unique blend of aggression and rudeness. Shouting and educating seems to be her way of expressing sheer joy😁 Highly recommend for anyone seeking an unconventional and lively experience!

I don’t usually leave reviews, but my goodness is this the worst Pret I have ever been to in my life. The staff are absolutely foul, bad mannered and unfriendly. Reading other reviews, I can see this is a universal experience. One woman in particular, an older woman is dripping with sarcasm and judgment. When I sit down with my pumpkin spice latte, I quickly realise that none of it is blended, and half way through the drink I’m met with chalky powder resultant of a very badly made drink. The quality of baristas here are very poor. The toilets are also absolutely disgusting. I spend 5 minutes waiting for a member of staff to leave the toilet - presumably cleaning or plunging it - and when she leaves very clearly lets me into the toilet. There is faeces smeared all over the seat, even AFTER cleaning; I can only imagine that they were halfway through the process when they’d let me in. A couple minutes later, I begin to hear tapping on the door persistently and two women (members of staff) complaining on the other side of the door. I open and they are waiting and pull a face at each other when I leave. I imagine they hadn’t finished cleaning properly, but my god - don’t let customers into the pooey toilet and then act frustrated! There are also some conspiracy theories sprawled over the door hinge in the bathroom. Not too off-putting, but made an altogether bizarre experience even more bizarre. Awful pret. Don’t enter

After waiting in a busy queue which Ofc I had no problem with as I understand it’s lunch time - to be served my a really rude older woman. She didn’t even greet me when I went up to her I asked her politely if she is serving she just nodded her head not a single word out of her mouth or eye contact I wanted to order a pumpkin spiced hot chocolate which I’m aware they do not have on their menu so I asked if it could me made she gave me the dirtiest look and said no!! we do not have this on the menu!! I said okay that’s fine as I just wanted to add the pumpkin spice to the hot chocolate I didn’t realise it was such a big deal (I have also worked in a cafe before…) and the other till lady had seen she was being rude so she offered to serve me and I proceeded to ask her again she obviously miss understood and thought I had ordered a drink already and I can’t “change it” I explained again that I would just like to order and she was okay but I told her not to worry as the queue was long it was very embarrassing and very rude - I will be cancelling my subscription. I work in a very busy customer service based environment too and honestly if you really don’t like your job you should just leave. I left embarrassed as I made such an effort to greet her as her face was so straight no eye contact and very sarcastic responses - “hi are you serving?.. YES??!!” Without even acknowledging me and like I said no eye contact. I understand she might be going through some things at work but she has no right to speak to me or anyone like that she has no idea what someone else might be going through. Awful service. What a horrible woman, I wish I would take my smile and my hello back she does not deserve it. Surely if you’re older too you should have some sort of courtesy - you understand you should say hello especially while working with the public? Anyways like I said will be cancelling my subscription and will for sure not be going back

I take the subscription at Pret and it has been a life saver for us (for coffee addicts).

Worst pret I may have ever been to. I felt so bad about spending £16 there. I'll never get that back. Was I or were we in a bad place. No. It was an amazing day. After that too . It was Pret.

We enjoyed a much needed coffee. Service from Thomas was amazing. Thank you for all the kindness you showed me and my family. It went a very long way amongst an ocean of strangers that is London.

I have ordered Pret cooler feeling peachy when I collect it’s just feeling peachy without touching it I went to the cashier Jakub serve me and he said he need to charge for another drink . It was his fault in listening I was trying to be polite and explaining I didn’t order this one but he said he gonna charge me again . Which is unfair with me as it’s not my fault . Jakub should not be working at Pret and there is no harm in changing my drink if he took wrong order . I won’t be coming again sorry Pret I am with you since last 3 years I need to say you good bye now He served at 1230 pm if management need to investigate the problem cameras are there

It's a Pret, not a lot to say one way or the other, but my warm wrap was overheated and not in a good state, so a lower than usual rating for this latest visit.

The staff very RUDE! I ordered a coffee and I set down. for some reason they been closing the store at 3pm when the actual closing time is 5pm. And this blonde girl came up to me and said " can you harry up, because my team want to go home" When I answered her " one second " And after she answered me " don't show your attitude " They shouldn't hire people like this.

The main doors was open all the time causing unpleasant draft inside. The lady serving coffee was shouting out loud and it was pretty annoying. I would not recommend this place in winter time, it was cold and quite unpleasant experience.

I encountered a very rude and mean employee here. She was very impolite. When I went to ask which one was mine, she suddenly became very rude and pointed to my face and asked me why I was wearing headphones. In fact, there was no sound in my headphones. I also heard her Shouting the name of coffee, but I could not tell which one was mine when the four cups were put together. She has done this more than once, I often see her very rude to others, very bad attitude, I don't know why she can continue to work here As I don't know her work number, I can only describe her personal characteristics. She is a middle-aged woman with black skin and a tall body. On the afternoon of March 7th, there was only one employee with black skin. Please remember to stay away from this person in the future!

Toilet has been ‘out of use’ for nearly 3 weeks now !!! This is a large and busy branch so the facilities should be working. Customers treated like animals !!!!

They make assumptions that you know how their system works, so waited for a while before realising I had to move along the counter where my coffee was waiting. Server was on mobile phone. Need a code to use the toilet. Coffee was good. Tables were clean and it was spacious.

I will rate 5 stars the tall guy who served me. He had most of the time the queue until the door, but he was very polite, smileing and he apologised about it. The atmosphere in the store was nice and clean, but understaffed.
