The Lemon tree is a quaint pub in the centre of London. I thought it would be extremely busy since it was 19:00 on a Saturday night but it wasn't. Downstairs was full of people, but the upstairs was completely empty. I ordered a chicken satay, mini ribs and a duck red curry with fried egg. The food was ok, I enjoyed the Guinness though 😊 The staff were really nice, attentive and didn't mind my jokes which was nice. If you're in the centre of London and you're looking for a drink and Thai food, then the lemon tree is for you.

The pub area is a very busy, very noisy post work/ pre theatre watering hole. The restaurant is up steep, dirty dog leg stairs. The restaurant has 4 tables and does not resemble the website photographs at all . The food is a spoof, again not comparable to any picture on the website. We ordered a platter of starters which must have been shaken out of a freezer bag… fish cakes?.. I don’t think so , more like orange Play-doh circles that had never seen anything that once swam . The main course was ‘beige’, bland and sparse. Really disappointed and wished we’d booked next door . The bathrooms are also shoddy and dirty . Our waitress was lovely and very attentive. Will definitely not be returning .

🚇Charing Cross 🍺 £5.75 Amstel ❤️ An easygoing backstreet Covent Garden pub. . Located in a quiet side street on the edge of Covent Garden you will find The Lemon Tree pub. The nearest station is Charing Cross which is just around the corner on The Strand. . It is thought this pub takes its name from lemons sold at the nearby former Covent Garden market, this pub dates from the mid-18th century, it was rebuilt around mid 19th century. . This is a small pub which in the main modern in decoration. The bar area is full of poser tables and ledges to perch at, at the far end of the bar is the curved servery which is illuminated by stylish copper pendants. On the wall is a massage map called “A ballon view of London “ which depicts London’s streets of old. Upstairs is an additional contemporary lounge bar which is a cosy affair and quieter than the humdrum of the main bar on the ground floor. . The beer line up was good, there are five cask handles but only three were available on the day we visited. Not venturing to far off piste, we ordered a couple pints of Amstel. Our pints were decent and pleasingly under six quid considering the area. The food menu here is Thai, the food receives favourable reviews, Pad Thai costs around £12 depending on your choice. . We arrived around 6pm on a Saturday, the pub was very busy with predominantly drinkers, there were a few punters enjoying the Thai cuisine which smelt great. There was a nice buzz about the place generated by the groups of day trippers and theatre goers wetting their whistles. The service was on point, the staff coped admirably with rush and flow of customers. . The Lemon Tree is probably the least busiest pub around Covent Garden due to its location, though this isn’t a bad thing as The Marquis and The Harp just around the corner get absolutely rammed. The beer and food here were great and the atmosphere enjoyable. If you’re in and around Covent Garden, be sure to check this pub out. . ℹ️ Info correct on visiting 29.04.23

Have to be honest we weren't planning to go here but both our two favourite pubs, including the superb beer place round the corner were pretty full so we thought we'd try this place for a drink. Has a good selection of cask beers and I got the Hophead which was really good. My wife got a nice glass of rose wine and for West End was reasonably priced. We then noticed they had reasonably priced Thai food so we thought we'd give it a go as we love Thailand and Thai food. Wow were we glad we did. We went upstairs and its almost like a private members club there with old maps of London and very intimate. Nice place for a date. The service was absolutely excellent. When we asked for a couple of glasses of water, was served in lovely glasses with ice and lemon and huge smile. We had two starters which were both delicious, although only got four vegetarian spring rolls, but the toast was superb.. The mains were fantastic, chicken pad thai and I had , Blah Kra Tiem which is crispy fish with mushrooms, garlic and pepper and came with rice. Came to £40 which for this quality and sizes in the West End is superb. We were both full after this and we love our food. We will 100% come back as one of best value eating options in the West End and with great service, and I say this as a cockney who is so often embarrassed by the overpriced rip off in so much of Central London.

Small pub that was empty when we went there on a Saturday afternoon, but filled quickly. There's a solitary circular table in the centre of the bar area, surrounded by tall stools and seats. Around the 3 walls is a ledge, wide enough for a plate of the Thai food that's served there. Along the ledge are two rows of white tiles with numerous USB charging points set into the middle of a tile. Radiators at spaces along these walls sure warmed up the place. A talking point amongst all who came in, ourselves included, was the 'balloon view of London', which occupies most of the right hand side wall. It was sketched from over Hampstead Heath around 1860 and so the top of the drawing is towards the south. The Monument is easily recognisable, and hence, the furthest bridge across the Thames to the east (left hand side of this view) is London Bridge. (Tower Bridge not having been built yet.) Oh, and they had Harveys Sussex Bast on draught which was lovely.

Fast service, but not necessarily a place to linger

Very helpful and very educated in whiskey. Tasted some new Irish and Scotch Whiskey, sampled a bourbon I was curious about, and bought a whiskey that came recommended. Met some lovely people. A fantastic little place to sample some of the best whiskey from around the world.

I've come here a couple of times. Very good place to eat and drink. My soya chai latte was amazing. My sister had orange juice there.
