Average spot for lunch - the meal pictured was nothing flavourful nor flavourless. Otherwise, the sandwiches and chips are a good option to go for. Service is always very attentive.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5 The Cellarium Cafe & Terrace is a true hidden gem in the heart of Westminster, offering a delightful escape with its incredible food, charming atmosphere, and outstanding service. Tucked away within the historic Westminster Abbey precinct, this cafe blends history with modern comfort, making it a perfect spot for brunch, tea, or a relaxing meal. Atmosphere and Setting The setting is absolutely enchanting. The cafe occupies a beautifully restored medieval cellar with high stone ceilings, elegant archways, and soft lighting. The historic charm is complemented by tasteful modern touches, creating a cozy yet sophisticated ambiance. If the weather is pleasant, the terrace is a wonderful option — a peaceful outdoor space where you can enjoy your meal while taking in views of Westminster Abbey. It’s a serene spot to relax away from the bustling city crowds. Brunch Perfection I visited the Cellarium Cafe for brunch, and it exceeded all expectations. The menu offers a delightful range of classic and contemporary options, with something to suit every taste. I ordered the Eggs Benedict and was blown away by the quality. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked, with velvety hollandaise sauce and a crisp English muffin beneath. The bacon was thick and flavorful, adding a lovely smoky note to the dish. My companion had the avocado toast with poached eggs, which was fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The portion sizes were generous without being overwhelming, and the ingredients tasted fresh and high-quality. Everything was seasoned to perfection, and the presentation was elegant without being fussy. Delightful Afternoon Tea The Cellarium Cafe is also an excellent spot for a traditional afternoon tea. The selection of finger sandwiches, fresh scones with clotted cream and jam, and delicate pastries was outstanding. The sandwiches — including classics like smoked salmon and cucumber — were light and delicious. The scones were freshly baked, warm, and crumbly, just as they should be. The assortment of pastries was delightful, with each bite offering a burst of flavor and texture. The tea menu is extensive, featuring a range of traditional and specialty blends. The staff were more than happy to offer recommendations, and the tea was served with care and attention to detail. It was a truly relaxing and refined experience, perfect for a leisurely afternoon. Exceptional Service What sets the Cellarium Cafe apart is the excellent service. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They greeted us with genuine smiles and made sure we were comfortable. Our orders were taken promptly, and the food arrived quickly. The servers were knowledgeable about the menu, offering suggestions and ensuring any dietary requirements were met. They struck the perfect balance of professionalism and friendliness, which added to the overall positive experience. Final Thoughts The Cellarium Cafe & Terrace is a perfect spot for anyone looking to enjoy a quality meal in a unique, historic setting. Whether you’re there for a hearty brunch, a refined afternoon tea, or simply a cup of coffee and a pastry, you can expect excellent food, a charming atmosphere, and stellar service. It offers a wonderful respite in the heart of London, and the combination of history and modern comfort makes it a truly special experience. I cannot recommend this cafe enough. If you’re visiting Westminster Abbey or just exploring the area, make sure to stop by. 5 out of 5 stars for an unforgettable experience!

Went for a late brunch, even though it was Saturday it was luckily not too busy at this time. The location is literally inside the abbey which is very unique. I had the eggs Benedict with Scottish salmon. It was tasty but didn’t come out very warm. Ordered hashbrowns on the side and it was just one small hashbrown triangle. Would say visit the abbey but have breakfast elsewhere.

My family and I spent a lovely afternoon at the Cellarium Cafe and Terrace in the Westminster Abby in London, England. We were on vacation from the USA visiting three major European Cities. We wondered into the Westminster Abby Cafe and were greeted by the General Manager, Lucas Perdziak. Lucas made his personal mission to provide for us a unique experience. He spent time explaining the items on the menu and everything he recommended was delicious. There were six in our party and only duplicated the Evening Afternoon tea. We all enjoyed the food and highly recommend the food, the service and the atmosphere. This narrative supports my 5 score rating for food, service and atmosphere.

Never thought any place could get a bacon or sausage sandwich wrong. I was wrong. We were a party of 3, One had the pancakes and it looks amazing, he gave it a 9.4 out of 10. Jealous of him. Other had a bacon sandwich, I had the sausage sandwich. They were edible, but they unnecessarily over toasted the buns, so the buns were crumbling, dry and tasted of charcoal. No butter to help with the dryness. My friend had to send her bacon sandwich back and asked for an untoasted bun, which did only take a couple of minutes. She said it was nicer that way. I braved on and finished mine, like an idiot. The price for 3 light breakfast and 3 hot drinks came to just under £40 (including service charge). They refused to allow us to split the bill insisting on a single payment. The toilet was nice though.

I went for Sat lunch with a friend for the 2nd time after a good experience here in July. Nice atmosphere, light & airy restaurant space. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. The short menu is fine but they had run out of certain items. Service was pleasant & helpful but food was very mediocre. Roast root salad was unblanced - pears were too vinegar-y, parsnips too hard, dressing tasteless, not enough hummus. Side of chips were very salty. The toilets are also inadequate for the numbers of customers so long queue.

Cellarium Café & Terrace is a charming dining spot located within the historic grounds of Westminster Abbey in London. Known for its unique setting, the café occupies a former 14th-century cellarium, which adds a sense of history and character to the dining experience. The interior features an elegant design with stone arches and a warm atmosphere, making it an inviting place for visitors. The menu offers a selection of seasonal dishes, including breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea, with an emphasis on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Overall, Cellarium Café & Terrace is a delightful place to relax and refuel, especially for those exploring the iconic Westminster Abbey and its rich history.

Cellarium is inside Westminster Abbey. We actually wanted the quick bite first before entering the Abbey. The food for the chargrilled chicken with sourdough was great. However, the mint salad has no taste. It is good for vegan, but it gives no taste to your tastebuds. Different style, just not mine. My wife also ordered lamb plate. The lamb was good as well as the quinoa. Again the quinoa is not given salt. Plain is good but a little tiny sprinkle on it would lighten up the spirit. My mom in law order the pan fried Seabeam. It was good as well. Overall only the salad is not good otherwise they will have higher score.

I agree with many (UK?) reviewers.. service IS poor and it IS overpriced but hey, we're not talking about a Soho hot dog stand, here. For many of the punters it's an experience. And imo the flavours are fully present. Even if the portions aren't. I work locally and popped in to check it out. A tenner for lunch is about my limit so got a starter for that price which was the cheapest dish on the menu. It was a salad based thing and I have to say, although I knew it wouldn't fill me up, I did savour the flavours. I even shut my eyes to focus on the tastes as they blended and changed. And I ain't no food critic, I can tell you. I had a glass of tap water and asked for service to be deducted from the bill (added without consent as a matter of course) -as I really did only want to spend a tenner. The host seemed surprised but they shouldn't have; service is not attentive. P'raps they just can't keep up with the turnover of covers. Service was posh/polite but slow. And this IS just a cafe -no tablecloths or owt. You'd be looking at well over a pony for a filling meal.. more like a onner for 2 if you're having coffee and pudding (oh, sorry 'dessert'). The afternoon or cream teas are probably your best bet for value. I must confess.. after I left, I stopped off at Gianni's cafe in Horseferry Rd and got a nice seeded cheese salad roll with mayo. It was as big as me head and cost less than half my salad in this celeriac cafe. Still. That's not apples and apples, is it? My 3 stars represents 'good' overall. I'm just a tightwad. But it IS tasty. I'll up a snap of the menu if I can find it.

Food was good. The eggs are done moist and fluffy (they seem to undercook on purpose and maybe added milk?). The eggs Benedict was good, but served a warm not hot (would be nice if they preheated the plates before serving food). Overall a good place to eat. It’s located inside another building that at first seems like you can’t get to it but they allow you to eat here even if you don’t have tickets to the abbey just have to let them know when security is checking your bags for entry.

Overall I was a little bit disappointed. Booked for afternoon tea with some friends. Outside, we were asked if we had booked as it was apparently very busy, but didn’t appear to be busy at all in the area where we were seated. We then waited a good 40 minutes before any food arrived. I had asked before I booked about options for vegetarians and was assured we were fine. I then mentioned it again when we arrived. Despite this, when the food came it was all mixed together. Fortunately my vegetarian friend was ok with eating food which was next to fish etc (I have other friends who wouldn’t be happy with this). The afternoon tea itself was good, and there was unlimited tea offered - once it came. Despite this, don’t think i’ll be back, was just so slow. Would have given 4 or 5 for the food, but the overall experience let it down.

Museums and attractions in Europe always have very good restaurants, this one included. It is a little pricey for the small portions, since the meals are not that filling but still the food is very fresh and they try to be eco responsible with their choices. We had a variety of dishes including watermelon salad, fig salad and lamb kofta, all of which were good but a little small for the price. There are also no throw away utensils or plates, always a plus for me.

The menu says lunch served from 12, we had pre-booked a table at 11:30 am, as we were attending an event nearby, we had travelled down to London that morning and came here to meet up beforehand. The table is only available for 1 hour. We ordered drinks when we got there and asked 2 different serving staff if we could order from the lunch menu and be served it at 12 (menu says lunch served from 12). I was hoping to experience the pleasant time my parents had eating here, many years ago. Like many people, I got in the queue after a tiring visit to Westminster Abbey and in desperate need of a sit down and some food. As you queue, there are no menus displayed on the walls to give you some idea of whether or not you even want to be there. You have to take ALL on trust. And wait a LONG LONG time. I was alone. A table for 2 was available, but I was not allowed to sit there. Instead, I was forced to join family group at a big table. I was ignored by the waiter, probably because the family group had already ordered and I was presumed to be with them. I wasn't prepared to wait for the staff to a) notice me b) remember I wasn't with the family c) take my order d) bring my food. So I left and did what I advise any other starving and exhausted solos to do: Go across the road from the exit and into the Wesley Cafe. Downside is it's a bit like a school cafeteria, Upsides are instant service, plenty of room, spacious, clean, decently priced. Also, large modern and clean loos. Get with the times, Cellarium, not everyone is going to come to you in a group.

Had lunch after a great visit to the Abbey. Food was delicious - ordered the smoked trout and my friend had the duck pate. Great service and menu suggestions. Also tried an English sparkling wine Riverview Cavendish - turkey delicious accompaniment to lunch. Love quiet ambience away from the throngs of tourists.

Absolutely lovely serene space in a manic abbey today. Great service, especially when I ordered the wrong thing and it was changed without an issue!! Fabulous knowledgeable waiter.

I had a lovely experience here with my step mum, dad and aunty. Food was delicious (Pumpkin quiche was my favourite), service was excellent, atmosphere was pleasant. Waiters were really awesome, very helpful. We moved tables, send back desserts for more stickey toffee pudding sauce, and they kept their cool. Joe the French waiter is the best! Merci beaucoup.

Sembra strano ma questo locale è all'interno dell'abbazia di Westminster. Locale antico con soffitto ad archi, molto bello. Servizio perfetto, pietanze ottime.

Great servise, very friendly staff. The prices were a bit higher but that is expected. Vegan options which is a big advantage. Recommend making a reservation in advance

It’s a unique place, we spent there around 30£ for food and drinks and paid 4£ service charges, which is quite unusual considering the price of the coffee and food. The place is unique, unfortunately the food and coffee is very mediocre, something between pret and way overpriced, charging almost 4£ including service charge, for coffee that taste like rubbish, we ordered some baked cones as well and it didn’t meet expectations. That’s a pity that there are no other alternatives for this place, definitely next time will be eating outside instead eating there, it’s not worthy wait time and money.

Not an enjoyable experience. Pasta was overcooked, yet tasted very dry??? Atmosphere is ok, but the food and service quality to price is pretty bad, expect to pay 60£ per 2 people

To say this is in Westminster Abbey it didn't feel too opportunistic with tourist prices, we had great service and the food was delicious and came quickly. They do what they can in a very busy environment to get people seated quickly and the atmosphere was great
