It's been a while since I had an off beer, maybe the lines, maybe an infected cask. Someone should have been keeping the beer, poor cellarmanship.

A pleasant small pub with friendly service. You expect a lively atmosphere but a table of six women made such a deafening racket for a full hour that it spoiled our pre-dinner drink. Can staff politely ask guests not to shout & scream?

First off I will say the Sunday roast was delicious! - but the service was really disappointing. We were a booked table for 3 people and sat for 10-15 minutes before I had to get up and ask for menus. We had to remind our waiter when a drink didn’t turn up. We only ordered one beer and one bottle of wine. We had our food brought to the table and had to ask multiple times for cutlery. We asked if extra gravy was possible and the waiter said yes but it never showed. Eventually after eating, we just decided to pay the bill and move to a different spot. I don’t feel we asked for much: food with cutlery and one drink- we felt very forgotten and then bad when we had to ask for things. I don’t think I’d go again.

Food and staff very nice, I was very annoyed to be told it was card only when we came to pay, I didn't have my card just cash. Told them it's legal tender and they shudnt refuse to take it. My friend had to pay on her card. I sent a message when I got home expressing how annoyed I was. They've not even had the decency to reply. Makes me angry places are refusing to take cash. I wont be returning

We held our intimate wedding meal here on 22/5/24 for 8 people. Sam was really easy-going throughout the whole process. We had the private room upstairs which was sectioned off and made a little more cosy for our small group and we used their bluetooth speaker for some music. We all ordered off the main menu and everyone loved their food. Considering the location, the food is very reasonably priced and great quality! Sam and his team were very attentive, checking in with us and taking drink orders so we didn't need to leave the room. Highly recommend as a place for an intimate post-wedding meal in walking distance from The Old Marylebone Town Hall. Thank you!!

I asked for tap water and they charged me £1 for “optional charity water” on the bill 🙃 Edit in response to their reply: while it’s commendable that they’re raising money for charity, they should inform customers of that when they order something they’d rightly assume to cost nothing. People often feel awkward about disputing small amounts on bills, especially when it’s claimed to be for charity, and should have full disclosure about any charity donations with no pressure to make a decision. The bill should not be the first time you hear about it. (Also, personally I felt like I was being rushed out a bit as soon as I finished my drink as it was busy, so I just paid the bill and left without questioning it. I was frustrated enough by the £5.50 price tag on the Corona 😂)

Steak for 34 £ wasn't worth it..definitely not cooked medium. There was no consistency and no flavour For this price I'm expecting the best piece of meat cooked to absolute perfection. The burger had a weird taste to it. Fish wasnt fresh so fish and chips was a flop. I mean its a classic so how was that not cooked well. We left all this behind ,coughed up a bill of almost 200 quid, but no apologies and nothing to compensate for an average lunch.

Food and wine was pretty good, although the hake looked more starters size than main. The service on a Saturday was glacial. We arrived at 1930; at 2150 we were enquiring where the desserts were as my friends would have to leave shortly to catch her train. "2 minutes". We paid to speed things up. The Duke of Wellington has, by far, the best Sunday roast in London. The meat is always so perfectly cooked, and the portions are generous. While it is on the pricey side, I can 100% justify the price as it's simply delicious. The sides always compliment the main dish and the beer selection is very generous as well. My wife and I chose the Duke of Wellington for our Christmas lunch because it is local, and we had been there before for a Sunday lunch. Unfortunately, it was a repeat that should not have happened. The set menu for Christmas lunch was an absolute disaster, from the first course to the last. Starting with tasteless baked Goat Cheese sitting on something maybe it was toast, hard enough to blister my gum. Next, the Beef Wellington, supposed to be the centrepiece, came swimming in some liquid, passing for gravy. The outside pastry coating was sogged and limp, served over some vegetables that had seen better days. To finish something, they called Christmas pudding. I call it a mess. For three people, two diet cokes, two glasses of wine and one Gin & Tonic, a staggering £480.00 Overall, overpriced and overcooked, never to be repeated.

Visited here every time we’ve come to London and it’s always been excellent. Arrived late Monday morning & initial observations were good. Tables & buffets neat, floor polished & a smell of Brasso in the air. Then all the good work ended. The lad left a 3/4 full pint in front of the hand pull while trying to top up another. Despite our attempts to alert him, he pulled, and beer went everywhere. He honestly did not seem like he’d worked a bar before. Our “pints” were an inch short & a request to top them up still didn’t fill the glasses. Other customers were left to wait while the spilled mess was cleaned up, while fruit tubs were messed around with, while napkin boxes were refilled. A French-sounding couple ordered a Neckoil which they were given with a huge head. By the time they’d got back to their table & beer had settled, they had 3/4 of a pint at best. If it wasn’t for our past excellent experiences, the rating would be 1/5 based on this time alone.

A short walk from our rooms and nearer still to Smithfield Market (open 2 am to 10 am, for those wishing to buy their meat earlier in the day), The Viaduct Tavern often is compared to the Princess Louise in the sumptuousness of its decor. But it is more renown as a true Gin Palace, where the list of gin and tonics runs to several pages (we were introduced to a Classic G&T, No. 3), the ice chipped from a glistening block of slowly melting ice. The magnificently foliated red ceiling, which variously has been described as beaten copper or tin, plaster or stucco, actually is Lincrusta, whose inventor changed his formulation for linoleum so it could be applied to walls and ceilings. Downstairs, if Jasmine has the time to show you, is a coal cellar, the hole in the ceiling, the opening through which it was poured from street level. (They’re not the cells of Newgate or a debtor’s prison but no less interesting for that.) Indeed, being able to see the casks from which the Fuller’s London Pride was being pulled is a treat in itself. If you intend to eat there, the ham and cheese toastie is especially good. And, if you also intend to have wine, certainly more than one glass, consider ordering the Saint Marc Sauvignon and taking the unfinished bottle with you. You’ll also want to reserve a seat, which The Viaduct does admirably well. On Thursdays, the busiest day of the week when patrons stand shoulder to shoulder, shouting over one another to be heard, you probably should retreat to Table 5 in the corner, a little nook that offers some refuge from the office workers prematurely celebrating the end of the week. We went there every other evening—always wanting the last experience of the day to be at The Viaduct—a feeling made possible by Jasmine and Sergio (who welcomed us so warmly on our first visit, when we had arrived in London only two hours earlier), Victor and Paige.

Stopped off here this afternoon about 1pm and was met by a lovely friendly bar maid who was so accommodating and knowledgeable with her recommendations for choice of beer we decided to stop off again on our way back home. Staff a 6pm, there were two of them, they were totally different! Not the friendly welcome we’d had earlier, indifferent, belligerent and lacked knowledge of their products. 10/10 earlier 5/10 this evening!

A good French Brasserie at a reasonable price. I love the decor and the food is excellent. Service is quick and efficient, which is important if you are there before a show. There is a prix fixe menu and daily specials. I love to eat there whenever I am in London.
