The Lazy Fox in Wealden

Oh what a shame! I had requested a quiet corner when I book for myself and my partner but clearly there is no such thing in this cavernous pub restaurant. It was a Saturday during the school Easter holidays but even so the place resembled a Harvester themed playground. Unattended children dashed around at full tilt and the noise level was not conducive to enjoying a meal. The parents of said children seemed oblivious and probably glad of the free time! Food and service was fine but sadly we left adamant that we would not be returning. Just not the place for couples!

We had a delicious Roast Beef lunch and it was excellent. The beef was cooked to perfection, generous veg portions and gorgeous crispy roast potatoes. Hannah , Alex and co were friendly and attentive giving excellent service. The puddings were delicious- apple and rhubarb crumble with rhubarb salted caramel ice cream and chocolate brownie with mint choc chip ice cream. Hubby was on a high as Hannah thought he was someone famous from the tv. Mustn’t let it go to his head!

Lots of roaming and very loud children combined with terrible acoustics in the room made this gave a school dinner/butlins vibe more than a countryside elite dining experience. I guess these fraught parents need somewhere for their off spring to let off steam and I should have known better than to come here on a school holiday. On the other hand the food was good and the service too. The staff are lovely.

The service by Naomi and Farrah was excellent. I particularly like how friendly and polite they were. Thank you we will return.

Always good food and the service is very friendly. Special mention to Vio who is always great - really helpful, friendly and nothing is too much trouble every time we come, including last Friday. We come regularly with our dog and he always gets attention too

We used to come here regularly and the food and service was always gr at. The service is still really good. However, the menu and the quality of food has declined. We came a few weeks ago in a big group and some food was great but other meals were not so great. We came today for lunch. The vegan roast was very bland, there was very little gravy and it all very much tasted like it had all just been reheated. However, Hannah and Izzie provided very good service.

The best roast (beef) meal I’ve had - and I’ve tried most round here. Gravy was particularly delicious and the cauliflower was fab. Naomi who served us was great and a real credit to the Lazy Fox team.

Excellent food with courteous, speedy service. Naomi was great. Lovely lunch - wish we could do it every day. If you’re thinking about a visit, don’t hesitate.

Robyn, our server, took great care of us, I was with my mum who has dementia & mobility issues. She was treated like a queen & can't tell you how amazing that was for us! A great memory!

This restaurant has a lovely interior and backdrop for a meal out with any company. Staff were very friendly and accompanying. Would recommend for anyone.
