¡Sin prejuicios! Normalmente no escribo reseñas. pero siento que necesito escribir esta. y no me disculpo por las palabras a continuación. Soy chef (aficionado) y he cocinado y servido cenas asadas a más de 100 personas en un período de 4-6 horas. ¡La frescura es primordial! Visité al perro perezoso con mi pareja el domingo 29 de diciembre para un asado dominical. Dios mío, fue el peor asado que he experimentado, de ahí por qué la crítica. Pedí carne de cerdo Belly y mi pareja pidió la versión vegana. El servicio en el pedido era bueno. Me encanta el cerdo, principalmente por el crepitar, como hace la mayoría de la gente. El crujido se quemó y lo envié de vuelta. Fue una rodaja que en mi opinión se recalentó en microondas y luego se espolvoreó con sal (demasiado) y se puso bajo una parrilla. de ahí por qué se quemó el crujido. Me comí la mitad de mi cena antes de que saliera el trozo de cerdo de reemplazo, estaba tibio. Mientras que el cerdo estaba cocido precioso, el crujido esta vez no era quebradizo y era muy masticable y no tan crujiente como debería ser, así que no me comí el crujido. En cuanto al resto de la comida en el plato. parecía un poco como un accidente de coche con un pudín de Yorkshire quemado en el lado. (que no comí). Las papas asadas fueron cocinadas desafiantemente el día anterior, o horas antes, y posiblemente fritas antes de servir. Eran horribles, rancios y secos e increíblemente masticables. Posiblemente el peor que he tenido. Los dos dejamos la mitad de las patatas. whicj es una pena ya que los asados son lo que se trata de una cena de asado! Los puerros cremosos eran de aspecto marrón y TBH i estaba teniendo dificultades para distinguir entre los puerros y el repollo guisado rojo, aparte del color, ambos estaban demasiado cocidos e insípidos, y tbh, parecía enfermo! Las zanahorias no eran "al dentie" estaban crudas y frías. Las chirivías estaban rancias, secas y sobre cocinadas. No me gusta tener mi salsa en mi asado, así que pedimos salsa por separado. ¡Esto nos lo sirvieron en un tazón! Luke cálido. Ni siquiera tenían jarras de salsa y era insípido, sospecho que fuera de un paquete. Mi pareja trajo una comida mixta para su hijo adolescente. Estaba hacinado en una pequeña caja de cartón blanco con el pudín de Yorkshire aplastado. Por qué no tienen una caja más grande, no estoy seguro. No podemos ser las únicas personas pidiendo comida para llevar. ¿También no tenían bolsas para poner la caja y la salsa? Mis compañeros hijo, no comieron la carne de res como era masticable como el infierno, y no comió el pollo como estaba muy seco y sobre cocinado. no comió mucho en absoluto. ¡No vale 21 libras! El único aspecto redentor de nuestra experiencia fue que la coliflor quesada y el brócoli, era, amablemente - agradable. Me siento incómodo escribiendo esta crítica, ya que conozco a personas que son dueñas del pub, pero siento que necesitaba decirlo públicamente. lo era, en general horrible. No vale la pena el dinero. Fantastic community pub. Monthly film club (for donations), they pick great films.

Rented the upstairs for my 30th and an excellent time was had by all!! We were able to use the projector for a surprise quiz my partner organised, and sound system for karaoke, and they let us put up decor etc. Always great service from the staff at the lazy dog 👌🏼👌🏼

Really nice cosy modern pub. Reasonable prices for food: food was tasty although one of our party wasn’t too happy with their food. No check backs after food was served so no chance to change this. Overall a very pleasant experience.

Algunos de los empleados eran encantadores, buen pub, pero la comida era pobre para el precio desafortunadamente. Todos teníamos un asado y hacía frío cuando salió (no ayudó que estuviéramos sentados en una cabina con una puerta trasera que se seguía abriendo así que todos teníamos frío! ) el pollo era encantador y el queso coliflor pero los puerros y la col roja eran papilla, la carne se veía genial pero era tan masticable el relleno era como un ladrillo y no crujía en el cerdo. Muy hipster sin mucha sustancia. En ningún momento nadie nos preguntó si estábamos contentos con nuestra comida (de lo contrario habría dicho en persona) en general no es genial

Sunday lunch was tasty, comfit chicken leg and very nice trimmings. The limited table service meant inconvenient trips to the crowded bar mid meal, and the restaurant was really loud generally. The friendly bar team shouted throughout, largely due to the high level of background noise. Good effort, but not sure I'll return.

Lovely Sunday lunch. 84 year old dad was very happy with his belly of pork. Dog friendly - the chef even sent out some beef for Kennie 🐾. Dad and dog happy. Job done.

This pub has a great chef whose Sunday roast is simply delicious 😋. I have been on a week day and Sunday and the staff, food and atmosphere are to be commended. Nice garden too. Highly recommend and I will be back again soon.

Very nice pub with what looked like a good food offer ( no food eaten though). The selection of beer was good, seating was plentiful and there is a substantial garden area.

Popped in for a comfort break and grabbed a coffee. Awesome coffee, fantastic range of craft beers and a great vibe. Thanks for the coffee! Will be back.

Decent price beers and they have free WiFi. Barstaff were all really nice and pleasant. Comedy every Tuesday which drew in a lot of people but the out didn't feel busy. Lovely garden shame it was raining

Came here for Sunday lunch. Great range of choices including vegan and vegetarian options. Generous portions and prompt service. Vegetables perhaps a little overdone. Nice to see alcohol free beer on draught. Nice house wine too. Good value for money

Fancied somewhere new for Sunday lunch with family and friends (table for 9) and despite, in retrospect a couple of nonsense recent reviews, we booked the day before. From beginning to end the experience was superb. Food, service, choice and vfm were all spot on. Food was tasty, portions good and special call out for Noah who was the epitome of great service. We will return.

Ordered the pork belly for the Sunday Roast and it was amazing. A good portion and really good quality. Came out quickly as well! Atmosphere was great - we sat outside with the heater which was lovely.

The vegan bowl blew our minds. One of beat dishes we have ever eaten. Tempeh burger was also delicious. Service brilliant from the friendly dude who'd worked there 6 years!

Delicious roast! Pork belly every time!

The restaurant was cold, we weren't advised to order at the bar so sat like lemons for 5 minutes. The mixed roast was £20, very disappointing as one item was a chicken drumstick another a small offering of belly pork though to be fair the one slice of beef was good. Runny tasteless gravy and something that resembled cheesy leeks. Absolutely not worth the money. Tables very cramped and seating uncomfortable. Sorry we won't be returning

We went for Sunday dinner, the food was a very limited menu The service is awful and you can only order at the bar. No table service. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and when it finally arrived it was cold. They only serve chicken legs , and the roast beef, was not rump but ( frying steak) top rump and as tough as old boots. The vegetables were like over cooked mush and still cold. Also the pub was not set up for decent food service. We are upstairs, apparently in the dining area. Our table was tiny, no table loth, no condiments, and worse of all there was a large group eating next to us that were pretentious veggie might sandwiches that couldn't control or discipline they're children. It was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. You are better off going to McDonald's. Even the drinks are protencious rubbish. I will definitely not be going again.

Lovely roast if a little cold, was sat outside though so that may have played a factor! Absolutely banging cauliflower cheese, one of the best I've had.

Have been coming here for the last 4 years and the food keeps getting better and better. Our pals loved it too and we'd always recommend this place if you're visiting the area.

Met up with some friends. The barmaid was super friendly, esp considering we were ordering food minutes before the cut off. There was a good selection of draught and ales and the food was very good with decent portion sizes.

Our favourite pub in Bristol and it’s right on our doorstep! The food is fab and as well as the classic pub fare - fish and chips, burgers etc - they have amazing small plate options too. Great range of beer and the staff are all super delightful!! 👍 🍺

Absolute gem of a find 😍 We typed in dog friendly pubs to go and meet our friends while we on holiday. This place came up and off we went. Well we weren't disappointed It was brilliant little place. Great atmosphere soon has you arrived with an exceptional welcome. Food and service was 5* and the bar staff came and gave the dog a saucer of water. We loved every minute. Even the locals were quick to come and ave a chat and make you feel welcome 🥰Xx

We are lucky to live pretty close to The Lazy Dog. We are always happy to go there to eat or drink, and to recommend to friends. Last Friday evening we ate with a friend for their birthday - booked the table upfront, which is definitely recommended as it gets busy - and had a lovely meal, as usual. We all had burgers - either beef cheeseburger or the tempeh burger. All were delicious. Lovely staff, great atmosphere. It's a great place.

So this is the only pub I know that you can sit down for food and drinks at a table. A new phone call will come in to book a table and they will slap a reservation down on the table you are already sitting at and tell you to get out.

Trying to keep a neutral opinion. Not my cup of tea, if you are a hipster and like these kind of special beers and ales, then this is the place for you. Food looked very decent and freshly made, not that I had any as it was a bit pricey for my liking, considering col crisis but if you have a spare bit of cash, maybe try it out 🤷‍♂️. Not my cup of tea though, again. Atmosphere was kinda bleak but not a place scumbags go so that's a bonus. Has a nice sized beer garden and is family friendly.

New to Bristol but I've eaten here quite a few times now. The staff are all friendly and attentive. Service is quick. The outdoor space is lovely and clean. Food is great, portions are on the large side so usually opt for a kids meal which makes it great value for money. My only gripe would be the horseradish is super mild! But of course that's personal taste. Overall would certainly recommend

I’ve recently started using this pub due to its proximity to the County Cricket Ground, it’s a great pub selling an excellent selection of drinks and some top notch food. Today I’ve visited for Sunday lunch and it was absolutely sumptuous. My Roast Beef melted in my mouth, lovely Yorkshire Puddings and fresh veg with just right amount of gravy. My mother had the Cider Braised Pork Belly which she said was utterly delicious. This will be the first of many visits for Sunday lunch. Highly recommended.

Great place. The food and the vibe are good. We’ve tried the Sunday roast as well as the evening menu. They also make the best Bloody Mary I have ever had!

Great Sunday roast, friendly service

Went here due to the generally positive reviews but was very disappointed in several ways.After being seated next to a very dirty wall that was wet from drinks being spilled on it, I went to the toilets, where the toilet door was a pretentious folding door and wouldn’t lock. Followed by some pretentious old fashioned taps that required a hundred turns to come on.I went to sit back at our table. It was incredibly small and had metal legs that dug into my thighs. Honestly the most uncomfortable table ever, why have they designed it this way??But fine. It’s just their vibe. Pretentious decor, loud music, a bit dirty, they sell ‘merch’ — fine… I’m sure it’s worth it for the food.We used the app to order. I do wish someone would have come over to our table as I did have questions about the menu, but the app was at least easy to use.I ordered the potato and vegetable gratin. In my experience gratin is traditionally a side dish, so I was curious how the chef had managed to adjust it into a main meal. It wasn’t. It was literally a square slab of potatoes on a plate with a bit of kale. I felt sick from the amount of carbs I was consuming. Had anyone actually tried that dish before putting it on the menu?!? The cherry on the top was it was undercooked, which is the worst with a gratin.So I asked for some ketchup to go with it (sacrilege, I know… but I needed something sweet to cut through the slab of bland cream and potatoes), and here’s why my review is a 2-star and not the 3-star I otherwise would have left. Why the hell are your sauces (ketchup and mayo), pre-dispensed into ramekins and then left on the bar, in the middle of the customer area where all the staff congregate, without masks, during Covid, and — I’m not joking — left out for hours?!? The staff member just turned around and grabbed one off the counter and gave it to me. It’s got to be the most unhygienic thing I’ve ever seen.As I waited for our dishes to be collected I thought up what to say to the server in regard to the undercooked gratin and the hygiene issues leaving sauces out on the bar. …And they didn’t even ask us. They just took the dishes and walked away without a word. So we just walked out.Maybe the rest of the menu is good? I won’t find out though unfortunately as I won’t be going back.

I'm so sad that I'm writing this review. I have been before with my partner and really enjoyed the food and had wonderful service. Sadly this time it was not up to our expectations set by our last visit. We had the Sunday roast. My partner, son and I ordered the pork belly. They came back 10 min later to say that they had run out of pork. We chose the lazy dog for the pork belly on the menu so we were very disappointed but decided to have the beef. I ordered it with the gravy on the side. I reco firmed that they gravy would be on the side after I have to change my order. When it finally arrived (1 hr later!!!) it had gravy. So it hd to go back. And then took another 10 min to plate it again. When it arrived it was was obviour that the carrots were not roasted as described on the menu and the cabbage was not braised either. The gravy was tasteless and the roast potatoes were not crispy as described on the menu. When mentioned to the server, nothing was said. We skipped the dessert as couldn't face more disappointment. Will not be returning. Such a shame as it is our local and used to there being good food.

We visited the lazy dog on many occasions with friends, children and dogs. Zane and his team are always welcoming, fun and friendly, it’s like visiting old friends for drinks & dinner. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. If you get chance take advantage of their lunch time deal offer, a time to visit and relax while the children are at school. Best of all it’s dog friendly!

Called three times to confirm large booking for lunch. Told each time that it was in their diary, called to confirm repeatedly, arrived to discover no record of booking, no apology, no attempt to accommodate us, and bad attitude that it somehow wasn't their fault. Pathetic. Do yourself a favour and go somewhere else.

Three of us ate well today. Ordering food and drink via the app isn’t the easiest thing to do outside on a sunny day, but it worked, and the wait wasn’t excessive. I’d happily return.

Came in for a roast today and couldn’t be happier. Delicious food, very accommodating with our picky party and the staff were delightful. The roast potatoes were the absolute BEST. Thank you so much.

I went to the lazy dog with my family and experienced the best bar staff ever! So friendly and helpful! How they have managed to take on a whole new way of working including table service and a covid friendly set up is amazing! Bravo to those lovely bar staff, who have taken it in their stride, still being sweet to our kids and patient with difficult customers whilst being run off their feet! Good job guys! Especially the short one with glasses, he's ace!

Staff were friendly and welcoming, provided tasty drinks and great service. Saw some customers being difficult but staff seemed to handle the situation well, staying calm and acting professional.

After being recommended to visit the lazy dog for a Sunday roast I had high expectations. Unfortunately the Lazy Dog seems to have gone downhill dramatically with a 90 minute wait time, cold food, and completely undercooked parsnips. The manager did eventually offer us a round of drinks although unfortunately we came to enjoy a roast dinner. Not alcohol. My friend received a microwaved replacement meal, rather than a new meal. The staff denied this and were remorseless and unapologetic. The manager sent what appeared to be the newest staff member to deal with us and it felt like the manager was hiding and didn’t want to apologise. As we left a short staff member at the bar with glasses stuck his middle finger at us when we voiced our disapproval. Quite frankly disgusting behaviour.I would not recommend the lazy dog until they retrain some of their most senior staff with some basic customer service skills.

- We arrived at 3:30 for an expected lovely roast dinner on a Sunday. - However, upon ordering through the app (the only option) we had to wait around 20 minutes for a drink but the worst part of the service is the fact that we had to wait 80 minutes to be served the food which was cold when arrived. In addition, the parsnips and potato’s were raw. - When complaining about the foods temperature, the same dish was taken and visible microwaved when returned with visibly soggy potatoes. Furthermore, the young server argued that it was a fresh dish despite the food still being cut up the same as when taken back. - ***The cherry on top was the young barman (short with glasses) sticking his middle finger up at on our way out (bearing in mind we had young children with us) which was totally unacceptable! When returning immediately to tell the manager, he didn’t seem at all bothered (probably due to this being the average service provided). - The only positive that could be taken from this was the polite young waiter which to his misfortune had to deal with our complaints whilst manager hid away. Overall, my family and I will never be returning as well as any of my friends!

Waited 1h20 for our Sunday lunch, finally came and it was cold, sent the food back expecting a fresh new roast HOWEVER got served the same food, MICROWAVED!!!!!!!! Everything was soggy and gross I wouldn’t ever give it to my dog. Then I had to demand a refund and didn’t even receive an apology, just denial. When we left one member of the staff STUCK THERE MIDDLE FINGER at me and felt completely threatened.!!!!!!!! I’m so appalled and feel Vulnerable about the whole situation ): stay away. 15 pounds they’re charging for a cold, sloppy roast!!! I saw more plates sent back then served and eaten. To top it off I had to ask for a packet of crisps, which the manager was reluctant to give. I don’t even want to give this 1 star

Shocking service, the food was cold, we waited for an hour and when we politely questioned this we were accused of lying, the manager dealt with the issue very badly and left a young efficient waiter to deal with all complaints. Won’t be returning! Such a shame because we had heard great things, disappointed!

Last year's socially distanced garden drinks/food was great. This time not so good!I booked a table for 6 in the covered garden and we were all there on time. Ordered drinks via the Butler app, 17 minutes later the bar still hadn't acknowledged the order in the Butlr up. I asked a passing member of staff and he chased it up. We then got 5/6th of the drinks approx 30 minutes after ordering, the 6th one arrived 5 minutes later. The glass of water never requested in person never turned up.Whist waiting for the drinks we tried to order food - on my phone it said all the menu items weren't available, in a friends it said some items were available. Then the waiter told us they had ran out of everything and the kitchen was closed!I'm pretty sure most the tables are booked in advance, so why didn't they have enough food is weird. Having said that the table next to us had fish & chips and it stank like cat food, so I'm guessing there was something else wrong.Really disappointing experience, especially given how good it was last year.

Thank you Lazy Dog for a great meal for my birthday. Thank you especially for phoning when you had a late cancellation. The vegan offer was excellent: wonderful variety of textures and tastes on the plate. Service was cheery and so lovely to be out for a meal.
