La déco du pub est belle. Mais n'allez pas aux toilettes ! Au-delà de l'odeur, tout est cassé. Quant au gars des cuisines qui sort fumer toutes les 10 minutes avec une tenue dégueulasse, ça passe l'envie d'y manger. Bref, souvent dans les pubs conseillés, mais à fuir !

Went in as it was close to our hotel but loved the atmosphere immediately. Had our first taste of Haggis and it did not disappoint. All in all, a great meal and a fantastic way to kick off our tour of Scotland.

Lovely bar in the centre of Edinburgh. Lots of history and knowlegable staff. Food and drinks botj perfect cant wait to visit again.

Visited with a friend who wanted to sample "Scottish" food. Big mistake. In fairness, his haggis wasn't too bad, just not much of it. My "Cullen Skink" was woeful. Tasted like "Knorr Cream of Vegetable" packet soup with a few bits of fish in it. No discernable hint of smoked haddock or cream. The "Crusty bread and butter" was 2 fish finger sized pieces of bread that were hard on the outside, either stale or microwaved, accompanied by a very generous pot of some revolting greasy margarine. My friend was not impressed. 😄

We spent two very nice evenings in this Scottish pub, eating excellent dinners and enjoying the nice kindness of Elliot. Thanks a lot for everything from Antonio, Francesca, Beatrice and Margherita from Milan, Italy.

Great spot! It’s full of interesting fellow travelers and has “Gastropub” level food with decent vegetarian options. Friendly staff. The Last Drop is a double entendre. The street, Grassmarket, was a public execution area for two centuries. It refers to the last drop from the gallows.😮

What a gem of a pub! The local food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere was charming. We had haggis, neeps & tatties as starter, then stovies and a vegetarian cottage pie. A must-visit spot in Edinburgh just right behind W bow where you can enjoy authentic flavours and a cozy vibe. They dont take bookings, so be prepared to wait.. it’s worth it though.

Obwohl ich alleine war, bekam ich einen schönen Ecktisch. Ich hielt es für ein „Touristenlokal“, ist es aber nicht, sondern einfach ein uriges Lokal. Sehr freundliches Personal und traditionelle gute Küche.

Local chulo con una gran historia que nuestro guía nos contó, gran variedad de cervezas y comida, los baños un poco sucio, pero al final el sitio es genial, eso sí no es barato😂😂

The Last Drop is one of those pubs that locals likely ignore and to which tourists flock. Both probably need to change their destinations. The service and craic from the smiling, energetic and professional staff is exemplary - not always a given in tourist pubs. This contributed to the excellent atmosphere - genuinely pubby (and in a positive way) with a musical trio adding to that. This should attract more locals. But sadly the food - on Burns Night - was not great. It wasn't bad, just that the atmosphere and service merited better. The cranachan was simply poor - just a lump of heavily overwhipped cream and raspberry; we couldn’t taste any whisky, honey or oats at all. It didn’t spoil the evening at all and the food filled us up, but it really wasn’t memorable. We’ll be back for the booze, the music and the craic. Edit in response to owner's comment: appreciate your response. As I said, we will be back. We really enjoyed our evening and the issue with the food is maybe about fine-tuning it.

This is a really great place to it, packed with history and the food was fantastic! It's a smaller place and we got there right before a rush, so we were seated quickly. The servers were very friendly and helpful but service was a bit slower than it should have been, especially with people waiting for tables. However, the ambience and food quality were excellent! Would definitely dine here again.

Cercavamo un posto dove cenare e abbiamo optato per the last drop che mi aveva incuriosito il giorno prima quando ci siamo passati avanti. Ambiente dalle luci calde, l’ambiente è diviso in due parti. Un lato dove ci cena è un lato dove si beve solo. Fanno cucina tipica scozzese oltre ai soliti burger. Pochi piatti ma particolari. Abbiamo preso uno spezzatino di agnello con cipolle patate e carote accompagnate da carote bollite non condite, ancora con la buccia (no per le carote) molto speziato e uno spezzatino sempre di agnello con purea di patate carote e cipolle accompagnato da carote e broccoli scottati anche qui non conditi e una salsa tipo brodo e una porzione di patate. Servizio veloce, problemi per come connettersi a Internet ha dato qualche problema per tradurre i piatti velocemente.

Locale al centro di Edimburgo arredato in pieno stile scozzese. Esteticamente bellissimo. Il vero problema è stato ordinare. I camerieri non vengono al tavolo ma devi andare tu al bancone. Fin qui non ci sarebbe nessun problema, ci può stare in un pub. Il ragazzo però ha fatto confusione con il nostro ordine, può capitare in una serata di punta. Abbiamo voluto prendere piatti tradizionali che si sono rivelati davvero ottimi. Consiglio di provare gli haggis, speciali! Prezzo super abbordabile.

Nice little pub with a great atmosphere, we had the Stovie meal which was cold, it came back hot, but tasted very average, the meat was grisly and the bread was supposed to be crusty, but was slice bread and slightly stale, all in all a very average meal. The staff otherwise were great.

Traditional food, good and quite fast service. The cullen skink was surprisingly good, the haggis was also really nice as well as the fishcakes and the ribeye steak. The cranachan dessert was weird and not sure if it was done properly because it was the first time I had it, it was just a full glass of cream topped with very sour sauce. The service was decent but a man wanted to turn us down at the entrance saying they don’t have any table. Lucky we insisted because they actually did. No booking required also but it seems like all the other Nickolsons pubs want a booking and we were sent away by 2 of them before we found the last drop.

I had Stovies and a pint of pale ale, I really enjoyed both! I just felt a bit rushed as there were a lot of people waiting for a table. The name of the place has a nice history behind it, very clever.
