The Last Drop in Edinburgh, City of

This is one of several haunted pubs in Edinburgh so be on the lookout for a little girl who may actually be the poltergeist! Even if you're not a fan of ghosts it's a cool pub to visit if you happen to be in the Grassmarket area. My wife and I stopped in for some drinks in-between activities and found it a nice, atmospheric place to wet our whistles.

Tamara was a great host amazing service highly recommend. Price is great and it is really close to the castle so overall recommend.

The best part of our trip was the afternoon we spent at the Last Drop and our server, Laura, was just terrific! The wine, beer, and food were excellent and the Sticky Toffee Pudding was delicious. The history of the Last Drop is interesting so be sure to check it out. The music was a welcome surprise. We felt the true Scottish experience here and would highly recommend you stop by.

I don’t know what was better balmoral chicken or the service of Blake or the whiskey he recommended.

Great pub in Grassmarket! Amazing gluten free option for beer (Hollyrood). Food was good and Adam and Jack were fantastic! Good service, solid food and a nice ambience! Will be back!

Fantastic service but the atmosphere and the food really let it down. Still haven't seen a good Scottish pub sadly and this is the same as the others. If you have a tourist location and jack the prices up, show us some Scottish flavour and music atleast. Also with a small menu the food is normally fantastic, burger burnt and I literally could have made better at home sadly. Where the last drop does well is the service. Young fella served us very very well and was awesome for knowledge. I was served a cracked glass and soon as I mentioned he was on a mission, so very Thankful for that.

This is the place for all you first time Haggis eaters. I high recommend to try. You won’t be disappointed. I had the pleasure of being served by Jack and he encouraged me to try it. He was right it was delicious. I finished the whole thing. If you’re coming to Scotland it’s a must.

Really enjoyed lunch at this location on Oct 18th with Mike our server. Good beer selection and food options, I enjoyed the Balmoral chicken and my friends enjoyed the falafel burger. The sticky toffee pudding was very good. And the ambiance had spooky flair but was cozy. Would recommend!

My first time in Edinburgh, I was excited to try this pub. However, when I went to order food and drinks, the woman at the bar was incredibly rude about needing a table number. I understand the process, but her tone and attitude were unnecessarily harsh. It completely turned me off, and I ended up walking out without ordering anything. Disappointing experience.

The Last Drop is a charming spot with a cozy, quaint atmosphere that immediately makes you feel at home. The decor is warm and inviting, perfect for a relaxed night out. What really made our visit stand out, though, was the exceptional service. The staff is incredibly friendly, but a special shoutout goes to Kyle, who went above and beyond to make our experience memorable. He not only ensured we were well taken care of but also gave us some fantastic recommendations for other bars in the area. His local tips really enhanced our night. We'll definitely be back!

I really enjoyed the visit. The food was awesome. The best chicken burger I've ever eaten. Kyle, our server was very friendly and accommodating. All in all the visit deserves 5/5 stars.

Ordered two hot toddies, which aren’t on the menu, Adam able to accept our order; kitchen created two piping hot drinks to ward off the autumn chill. Warm way to start a meal.

I was just looking for a place to have a quick beer, but things turned out differently than expected. The staff was super friendly, but what really made my evening were the other guests. Barely five minutes in, I was invited by a group to join their table. The people were incredibly friendly, and the atmosphere was fantastic. I can only recommend it to anyone in Edinburgh looking for adventure and new friends. The food and beer were also very good.

First experience in a Scottish pub in Edinburgh. Located in a very tourist area, it maintains its authenticity, in fact it is very characteristic with a gloomy history behind it, good simple and local dishes. I recommend sitting inside. Friendly and attentive service, average prices. Ideal for a quick lunch while visiting the city or for a beer with friends.

In the Grassmarket, the square where The Last Drop is located, prisoners who committed the most serious crimes were punished in the past. The prisoners' last wishes for food, Scotch or Scotch Ale were supplied from the pubs in this square. One of these pubs is The Last Drop. We were told about The Last Drop by a guide and had to go check in out just based off the description and the story about how it got its name. It was definitely a memorable place and as with so many other places in Edinburgh gave us much to talk about.

My wife and I were in The Last Drop while on our honeymoon in Edinburgh, and we had a great time! We'd been to a few pubs in the city before, but The Last Drop was definitely the highlight. Our server was Laura, and she was extremely competent and friendly, and it was a pleasure to watch the entire team work. My wife and and I have around 50 years food service experience between the 2 of us, so we really appreciate it when we see those who know their trade well. The food was hearty and delicious and very reasonably priced. It came quickly and the portions are very satisfying. Thanks for the unforgettable experience!

A little disappointed by the food and the atmosphere. The huggies... For those who like them... The vegetable soup wasn't very good either. And the dessert is horrible, sour cream without sugar, it's like it has gone bad, horrible. The only thing that saves it is the Cullen Skink, and even so, I have tried it better in other places. On top of that, there was no one in the place at noon (1:00 p.m.), no music, no atmosphere..., nothing.

Really enjoyed our visit to The Last Drop! Real traditional food. Was surprised to be served by a fellow Aussie! Blake recommended the crofters pie, washed that down with a few pints. The pub has a super cosy atmosphere and we cannot wait to go back again!

I had a fantastic experience at The Last Drop, and Blake made it even more memorable! His recommendations from the menu were spot-on. I tried the haggis neeps and tatties, which was absolutely delicious, and Blake suggested a perfect whisky pairing that elevated the whole meal. His knowledge and passion for the food and drinks really stood out. The atmosphere was cozy, and Blake's attentive service made me feel right at home. I can’t wait to come back for another visit—highly recommend asking for Blake! Ps. The double chocolate brownie is to die for!

What a find on the grassmarket. Jack behind the bar displayed a combination of professional service (the man KNOWS how to pour a cider) and hilarious Scottish banter. What a way to spend an evening, can’t recommend this place enough.

No reservations required, the room has limited seats inside, there are some seats outside. Typical Scottish menu with good dishes. Definitely tried better but it's worth going there

The last drop is a good place to have a drink and eat. For drinks, they serve you at the bar with a good selection of drinks, from beer, ciders and alcohols such as whiskey, rum, among others. To have a table, all you have to do is arrive and see an empty one so you can take a seat and enjoy both indoors and outdoors depending on your preference. In the afternoon it is very pleasant to feel the sun while watching people pass by, but at night it is more advisable to be inside. For food you have to wait in line since they have a section for people who are just going to eat. The food is generally good and has a selection suitable for all tastes. In short, a good place to consider since it has a good historical context and several fun facts

Place is Ok for a Scottish pub, but the food was excessively salty and fat / oily. If looking for a proper meal, I would recommend looking elsewhere. Place can be quite crowded in the afternoon.

Historic place where in front of the pub there was the gallows... this is where those condemned to death came to take their last drop The atmosphere is incredible. The staff is extremely kind and friendly. The meal is simple but delicious. Impossible not to go back there.

First time in the pub. The food was delicious as was the beer and whiskey. Paid a total of £70 for two main courses, two desserts and two beers and whiskey. Okay for the location and ambience. Great atmosphere and live music was also played. The waiters were very nice and we were served by Blake. Overall a very great evening

Cannot comment on the food as we only went for drinks. Staff were friendly and helpful when I wasn't sure which lager I wanted. Will be back again when in Edinburgh.

A local pub where, if you're lucky and find a table, you can have a meal. If not, they invite you to have a drink outside, although many people just drink inside. Either way, we enjoyed the live music and eventually some food. The macaroni cheese was good, but I remembered it being better. The Balmoral chicken is totally worth it. I would recommend this pub.

We went for lunch and the Stovie and the crofter's pie are very good, good flavor and good price to try a typical dish, very good service. 👏🏻
