CUSTOMERS TALK ABOUT DISHES WITH..pizza

comment_iconOpinions

Cracking place for food and a decent selection of beers. Garden is one of the only ones in Reading to get sunshine all through the day and is probably the best one around in the summer. Update: they've added another section to the garden that's shaded which is nice. My only gripe (or bonus for young families) is it has the tendency in winter to turn into a creche. The last 4-5 times I've been have the added feature of the abandoned pushchair assault course.

Wiping the slate clean ... dropped rating to an incredible single star after Dodo Pubs removed my go-to Craft Ale, and replaced it with 3% Table Beer, increasing the price (insulting was one word for it), but ... now they have got rid of that awful stuff ... and as all pubs have increased their prices hugely, I have returned to The Crumb. Still my favourite place to be in the sunshine. Shame the iconic (pink) Crumb Burger is no more, don't bother with the replacement, but the pizzas are fabulous. Cluck Bites remain hugely variable (moist/succulent to dry), so don't really bother with them either.

Great al fresco family dinner on a rare warm and sunny evening. Brilliant burgers and pizzas and of course craft beer. Bigger kids enjoyed the pizzas and smaller ones enjoyed the main course, ice cream and a drink - decent value too. Will be back again, hopefully on another sunny evening (but inside is just as lovely as the outdoor terraces)

We were here as a booking of13 early on a Saturday evening for food and drinks. Food was amazing. However, service was incredibly slow and although everybody ordered around the same time, some members of the party were served their food over to an hour later than others, so we were unable to enjoy our food together sadly. Staff were friendly and apologetic but seemed very rushed and light on numbers. Car park was also completely full so of the 3 cars we arrived in, we all had to find parking elsewhere

THE ghastliest pub I’ve EVER been to. Avoid this place like the plague. Crummy decor, made from scrapyard materials. Over-priced pizza. £10. Two pints of Cola made from concentrate -which costs around 40 pence a litre - flat and tasteless but £8.40 !! “HOW MUCH?” I asked… staff said, “we’ve had some price rises!!” No wonder pubs are going out of business.

Message to owner: Please consider your chip portion sizes. I love The Last Crumb, staff are always really great and the vibe is top. Love grabbing a few pizzas with the kids. But over the last year or more a portion of chips, £3.50, has been getting to ridiculous small sizes. See the photo, hand on heart I took that snap upon them arriving. Love the pub, strongly recommend but let's keep an eye on fair transactions. Ps. Please keep the smash burger as a permanent menu item it was really amazing.

The Last Crumb in Reading is truly a hidden gem for burger enthusiasts like myself. This pub has quickly become my go-to spot for indulging in mouthwatering burgers and enjoying a fantastic selection of beers. The Last Crumb takes burger craftsmanship to a whole new level. The juicy pink patty cooked to perfection, oozing with flavor, was an absolute delight. The quality of the ingredients and attention to detail truly shines through in every bite. Whether you prefer classic cheeseburgers or adventurous creations with unique toppings, The Last Crumb offers a variety of options that cater to all taste buds. As a beer lover, I was thrilled by the impressive selection of brews available at The Last Crumb. They have curated a thoughtful and diverse collection, ranging from local craft beers to international favorites. One of the highlights of The Last Crumb is their garden seating area. The ambiance is simply delightful, and a relaxed atmosphere. It's the perfect spot to unwind and enjoy your meal, especially during those warm summer evenings. To top it off, the pub plays great music that creates a lively and enjoyable backdrop. In conclusion, The Last Crumb is a true gem among Reading's pubs and burger places. With its unbeatable burgers boasting juicy pink patties, an extensive selection of beers, charming garden seating, and vibrant music, it ticks all the boxes for an exceptional pub experience. Trust me, your taste buds will thank you!

Went here 2 times. Am I missing something or are pizzas supposed to be soggy? I wanted to give it another chance and the edges of the pizza looks lovely and crisp but their pizza is like eating a wet sock. Not appealing at all. It is so disappointing knowing they have a proper pizza oven but their chef is not trained to use it properly- most likely the problem is not enough heating the oven before making pizzas. Thought I try the vegan burger bowl the 2nd time and the vegan burger was falling apart from the top appearance took a bite to find the bottom burnt to a char which the waiter admitted it was. I suspect the cook thought if they cooked it enough it would hold together thus burning the bottom. They did offer to replace it. I declined though as I think their priorities are the drinks/bar area.

Like the previous reviewer I also visited The Last Crumb one evening with a friend, as I have done many times in the past, but two weeks later I received a notification from one of those dodgy private parking companies saying I hadn't obtained a permit to park in the pub car park. I have never had to get a permit in the past to park there, or in fact in any other pub car park I've ever visited. The staff made no mention of it, and although they say there were signs "everywhere", seeing as the pub was full for Quiz Night, I didn't notice any and neither did my friend who is a regular there. Having written to the pub I eventually received a fairly snotty reply saying that it was nothing to do with them and I'd have to contact the parking enforcement company directly. However, as the parking company are hired by the pub then The Last Crumb/Dodo Pub Co. certainly could contact them if they wanted to, to cancel the ticket, but they clearly can't be bothered to help out a genuine customer who has spent a good amount of money with them in the past. These parking companies don't have a legal leg to stand on and are nothing but bullies, so I will now be appealing, but it's a complete waste of my time when I have done absolutely nothing wrong. A real shame as I liked this place before, but won't be returning, or going to any Dodo Pub Co pubs ever again.

I came down with my wife as a treat. A few days later we received a £100 fine for not obtaining a permit from the bar. No prompt or reminder from the staff regarding parking when we ordered at the bar. Disappointed at the militant car parking fines and the lack of help from staff to resolve the issue. Completely understandable that they want to protect their car park for paying customers, but persecuting them for an honest mistake is disappointing. Other local pubs have similar systems but are more helpful at resolving issues with customers. At least there will be more room in the car park now as we shall not return.
