Service was lovely, loads of pints on offer and let me park overnight. Good atmosphere with the pool tables and layout. Definitely would recommend!

Shout out to Tia tonight, with it being only her 2nd week working here, she managed tonight like a pro. Working the bar by herself, with it being quite busy, nothing was too much trouble. Well controlled and service was great, didnt even phase her. Thanks Tia 👏🏼

We just had a lovely afternoon at the Palmer Tavern for our great grandchild's baby shower and gender reveal. The buffet food was very good value for money, the service was friendly and efficient, and parking was easy for all the guests travelling by car.

Every one here is good but that Natalie is the best

The pizza i had was really good however the bartender was really good and created some good conversation which made me feel very welcome, I think her name was Amy. Will definitely go again.

Recently had a family christening at the palmer tavern and it was absolutely phenomenal. Sam went above and beyond with food and decorations and we absolutely could not have asked for more. We really appreciated it Sam thank you!

This is a fantastic pub. The atmosphere is great, lots of great deals on throughout the week and very friendly and helpful staff. There is an amazing range of drinks to choose from. The food is very tasty and I highly recommend. A great place to go and spend time with friends or family and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.

I’ve just seen a review that was left Saturday morning regarding Friday night, I was in the pub all day/night Friday and I did NOT witness the girls drinking or vaping! The girls at the palmer tavern were working their socks off and the place was busiest I’ve even seen it! It sounds like she needs to say thank you for keeping her property save over night and returning it the next day? The pub is better then its ever been and I take my hat off to the hard work everyone does! Don’t listen to the haters

+ Referb is nice, beer is cheap - Staff drinking and vaping while serving drinks - Toilets are barely functional - I returned the next day to pick up a forgotten item. Google said it opened at 11 and it didn't open until 12. I advised the landlady this in case she needed to change it and her reply was "I don't know what google you're using". This one ma'am.

Food is amazing, pizza is 10/10! The best beer garden in Reading, perfect for summer! Darts and pool which is so ideal. The staff are so lovely and really helpful, good music and accomodated to our needs. My favourite pub in Reading for sure!

think I’ve always preferred a pub night to a club night and with pitchers cheaper than spoons it’s such a student friendly pub, there’s live music over weekends and it’s open till 1am, bar staff are all lovely and down for a chat and they’re dog friendly:)

I went into the palmer tavern on the 17th April for a pool match that was hosted there. I punched in my reg for the car park but it didn't register properly and got a fine for parking come throught today 4 may 24. I contacted Sam the landlady to explain I got a ticket and she sorted it out for me within 2 hours. Very fast and efficient. So thank you and I'll be up again soon 😁

I absolutely love this pub. Recently been refurbished with a new landlady and savannah the girl behind the bar is fantastic. Beautiful atmosphere and very welcoming. Definitely recommend this pub to anyone.

Absolutely LOVE this pub 😍 run by some of the loveliest people, so friendly and kind, always happy to go above and beyond in any way they can. The drinks are always excellent and so reasonably priced I'm surprised they ever have anything left, but they always do! Wide range of beers, ales and ciders, plus any spirit you care to think of, in a totally gorgeous venue - this place is a total winner for me and I will recommend it to anyone who will listen!

Nice friendly pub with a small friendly dog. Nice decor in the pub on the whole and Update - ladies toilet seats are nice and new!! Sadly they don't have a wide range of non alcoholic drinks and no hot drinks but a nice place to go nevertheless. Pool table and darts too they also do a quiz on a Monday. They do food but I've not eaten there so cannot comment, it looks very typical pub grub, chips, chicken pizza etc. The menu looks inexpensive and the kitchen is open plan next to the bar so the bar staff cook the food while you wait. They have a car park (input your reg number on the screen at the bar) and a large rear garden with outside seating front and rear. They currently have a meat raffle on a Sunday for £3 per square! They also have two Pool tables and they are nearly always in use. Wednesday evenings for about an hour it is very, very busy with students from the university filling most of the pub for the first term, September to December only. They are very loud and often a bit drunk but they then go into the garden as part of their routine and then all leave en mass! The pool tables are on the way from the bar to the toilets so it can be tricky to get past at times.

Reminds me more of how pubs used to be back in 2000 ...pool tables , live bands , decent drinks. Would give 5 stars if they done a cocktail or two. Highlight for us tho is there pub dog who wanders around and does all kinds of tricks to get some of your food or crisps on our part. She made our night

Millie was just incredible- she was the only worker in the pub and managed to serve multiple people drinks whilst preparing our food. Everything was cooked well and tasted fresh, the drinks were also great and fairly priced. Honestly, Millie’s service was amazing and she deserves more recognition!

Went out on Friday evening with few friends and had an amazing evening . The staff were very coronial and add to that it’s a Friday free pool day. Love it his place in the midst of the hustle and bustle

Never again! Waited ages for the drinks and after long time been informed they did not had multiple items from the order. Food was dropped on the floor and still served. Would not recommend!

Quiet pub on the outskirts of Reading with friendly staff and decent prices. What brings the score down are the slightly dodgy people who hang around outside the pub. I get that it is beyond their control but it does affect the experience

Great place for students if your looking for a pub off campus. Fantastic pool table and community. Not as cheap as campus pubs but still reasonably priced and affordable. Food is fantastic! They offer 10% student discount too!

Flat beer , did not even pour the beer correctly in the correct beer glass, flat as a ironing board.

I come here to service their washrooms and i gota say, the couple that own it are amazing, they are Extremely helpful, and always welcome us in so i can do the service, i arrived this morning because my previous job got aborted, so i decided to see if i could carry out the service here.. Sometimes i feel like im in the way when i service these places but im aware its my job and it needs to be done.. I don't Know how she does it, copes with her little one, who's a character amongst the other commitments in their lives... fair play to them both... 👍👍👍👍..

I was rather inebriated after being at the Palmer Park, House and garage orchestra Festival gig. So can't comment on a night there bit the time I was there was good. Staff were friendly, music was good and an outside seating area was very much appreciated. 🙂🙂

Its OK, spots orientated and a typical pub - its not a bad place but has nothing to set it aside from a thousand other pubs around the county. Interesting burger & dogs menu.
