Great food .large portions . Friendly atmosphere. Fabulous staff very ftiendly and efficient even when it was very busy.

We had a delicious Sunday Roast with all the trimmings. The meat portions were very generous and lovely cuts too. Plenty of veg, roasties and mash with lashings of gravy. The quality of the food was very good indeed and definitely right up there with the best that Leeds has to offer. Nice atmosphere, very attentive Staff with a good selection of local ales. Highly recommended, Will definitely be going back again.

Fue en el lugar ideal después de una actuación matinal en la casa de juegos. Todos tuvimos diferentes comidas, pero todos fueron disfrutados a fondo. El servicio era un poco lento, pero eso se debió a que solo 2 funcionarios de arriba se ocupan de todas las mesas. Decepcionante que la máquina de café estaba 'roto', ya que nos hubiera gustado terminar la comida con una bebida caliente. La decoración del pub y las instalaciones estaban limpias y acogedoras.

The staff were so helpful; from rearranging the time of our booking to helping menu choice due to food intolerances. We came for a pre theatre meal and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience! We came to celebrate my mother's birthday, and everything was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was fantastic. We were on a bit of a time crunch as we were attending the Titanic exhibition at the Royal Armouries, but the food arrived promptly. Despite it being a busy, sunny Saturday, the servers never forgot about us. They were clearly working hard, yet still delivered excellent service. Thank you so much for a great experience!

worst steak i have ever had and also the most expensive, the 8oz steak was large and thin and had thick gristle on its edge, not fat but gristle and inedible. the meal did not come with a steak knife so i had to struggle with the standard table knife, to ad insult to this they tried to charge me for a £12 drink we never had. staff were nice but clueless

Good old pub atmosphere. We made reservations that they could not find, then sat us at the table set aside for the worst table for two even though the place was empty. They lost me because of that.

Jasmine was a lovely server, the food was good and we caught a beautiful sunset on the outside seating. Definitely recommend!

I have just had one of the nicest single meals of my entire life ... I have eaten in Michelin star resteraunts across the world that have not come close to the pork 3 ways at the lamb and flag I am wrighting this review from the resteraunt it was absolutely sublime and I hope very much to have the chance to sample it again

Took a punt at a tea-time meal here based on location and reviews and was very pleasantly surprised. Nicely done out, very friendly and comfortable, good food at v. reasonable prices and good beer. Will certainly go back.

Good venue, sadly the Sunday roast came with the chewiest and driest chicken I've had.

We’ve just finished what was meant to be a lovely (early) Mother’s Day meal and unfortunately, it was utterly disappointing. We waited almost an hour for our mains to come out, and straight away had to send back the fish pie because the veg was cold to then wait 10 mins for it to come back while I told the rest of the group to carry on. The table next to us also had to return their steak because it was cold. The team explained it was because a table of 18 & 25 were before us, but I’d expect that given I left a note of the occasion we were celebrating, they’d at least give us a heads up about the larger groups! They did however did provide complimentary drinks as an apology, but we had to raise our concerns a second time for this. We did plan on ordering desserts but we didn’t want to wait an hour for that too which is a shame! The food was very good so we can’t fault that, but what meant to be a lovely evening didn’t turn out what we imagined. Also to add I understand it was a Saturday night, but the music was far too loud in the downstairs eating area too.

A good Sunday roast spot in town, not the most spacious, but have a good amount as there are two floors to use. For foodies, they portions are generous and the meal delicious. PS: it can get really busy on a Sunday, try to book a table before hand, but in any case, you're not able to, just walk in knowing the chances are 50:50 you get a nice table.

Great pub with atmosphere, good food and great service..the manager was excellent...been refurbished to a very high standard and 1st time we visited last night after being in Leeds since 1997 as we had an event next door at the Leeds Minster...we will be back..

My daughter recommended Lamb and Flag as a good place for lunch and a couple of drinks. A spot on recommendation. Pleasant place, bright, spacious, great service, tasty food, nice atmosphere. Couldn’t ask for more. This will now be our go to place in Leeds.

It was ok not as amazing as we thought it would Be from the photos we had a beef roast dinner the beef veg and mash were lovely the gravy was extremely watery the roast potatoes where rock hard and hard to cut and the Yorkshire were ok. Some of our party had the meatpie which they said was nice. The food got cold really quick and the portions were not the generous. It was good but we won’t rush back 🤔

I really like this pub, looks traditional, good food and service. Unfortunately, each time I've been in the last few months it's been cold which had made it a little uncomfortable when eating!

A lovely Sunday lunch the beef was tender and cooked to perfection. The vegetables and potatoes were nice and hot although the Yorkshire pudding was a little cold. Service was good .. However our table was opposite an outside door and it was chilly when the door kept opening.. other than that a very nice experience we will go again! Thank you

As the other reviews say the food and service are excellent at this pub. Today we had a serious problem with one of our starters ( the gruyère pot). We had ordered three pots. Liz the waitress dealt with it immediately and efficiently. The kitchen was notified and the manager Paul investigated the issue thoroughly explaining to us what probably had happened to my husband's starter. They were extremely apologetic and genuinely offered to sort the situation out, offering us replacements and extra deserts. We are very grateful to the staff for dealing with the problem so openly and with real professionalism. The rest of our meal went without further issues and we really enjoyed our Sunday meals very much. Thank you

Super Sunday lunch in the heart of Leeds. The L&F was buzzing at 1.30 when we arrived and service was swift, polite & efficient. The Sunday roast was excellent, all veg was lovely and the lamp rump succulent. It was a massive plateful! Puds were nice as well, we had the bread & butter pud which was good but not as good as my mums 🥰

Booked a table for 4 with wife and daughters for a pre-show meal on Saturday evening. Shown to table 21 (corner plot near toilets) upstairs and ordered mains and drinks. Starters were not to our taste so were looking forward to deserts after. Food and drinks arrived promptly and were very good. Unfortunately, the steak sauce ordered arrived fifteen minutes after the meals and the steak had already been eaten. Then, after the plates were taken, we were left with no food or drinks for forty five minutes while tables around us that had arrived after us were being served normally. Eventually, I had to go to the bar to pay the bill due to no table service and showtime approaching. Barman said all he could do was say sorry. I paid the bill and we left hungry, thirsty and disappointed.

Great classic pub environment visited and had the beef burger and chips which was great and the staff were friendly and speedy

Excellent pre-gig at the Minster meal with extremely helpful and patient waiting staff (two GF diners who needed the menu translating!). The food was perfect. We're not local but will definitely bear the Lamb & Flag in mind when we next visit Leeds.

We had a dinner on 14 February. Food was absolutely delicious! Service was proffesional and friendly. Good choice of beer as well. Definitely will go again and recommend to friends.

Booked Sunday lunch the day before for 7 people, so we were pleased to be able to get a table! The staff were great from the start (we were the first people there at 12.00) and were nicely attentive throughout the meal. Drinks and food arrived swiftly and all correctly. I had the beef and ale pie, which was great. Most others had roasts (it was Sunday after all!). They all looked great and had super Yorkshire puddings. The pork was very well cooked but both the lamb and the chicken roasts were over cooked, and therefore a bit tough. The veggies and gravy were all great though. Would happily return next time.

Booked a table for 2 for Sunday lunch, we were early for the booking, but the staff still helped and got us seated in around 10 mins , enough time to get drinks from the bar. Place has a good lively mood, and the food is amazing. we had the lamb dinner with cauliflower cheese, which I would recommend in a heartbeat. I have no issue recommending the lamb and flag and we will definitely be back soon massive thankyou to all the staff

Fantastic Sunday roasts. Booked a table, which was easy to do online, and so glad we did as it's a very popular/busy place. Good selection of menu choices, along with vegetarian options. Dining is available both downstairs and upstairs, which also has a bar and restrooms on the same floor. I believe the upstairs can also be booked for private hire. Staff friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. Located next to the cathedral, there is no car park, but there is street parking, payable at the parking meters.

My wife and I along with our daughter and partner had a Sunday lunch just before Christmas at the L & F. We booked for 1pm and at the the time it was fairly quite, however after a short time it started to fill up. We had 3 starters and 4 mains and then shared 2 desserts, the food was delivered shortly after ordering and was piping hot, the waitress was attentive without being in your face. Along with some excellent beer our visit was a thoroughly enjoyable one, we will definitely return, thank you..

Excellent pub with a good choice of beers

Was craving a Sunday dinner, after lots of relentless searching and asking around Lamb and Flag came up multiple times. All I can say is wow! The food was incredible, I went for the beef option and it was so succulent literally melted in the mouth. The veg was cooked to perfection and that light fluffy yorkie on the top was delicious. Great service and the team were all so friendly and happy to help. Will absolutely be back again!

It is one of our favourite pubs in Leeds. It is a bit out of the main centre but it's well worth finding out. A great choice of beer and food. We did not eat in here, but the food looks nice.

A lovely pub situated close by to the bus station. A great selection of beers, the Sunday lunch is great.

Delicious lunch here, brilliant value for fresh, quality food with great portions sizes. The pub has a good vibe and is spotlessly clean. The service was excellent, food came out in good time and was cooked fresh to order. We tried the fish goujon sandwich and the steak flatbread and both were very tasty. A hidden gem in Leeds that i'd definitely recommend and will be back to try more.

Fantastic fish and chips and home-made potatoes. Great risotto with truffles and 3 types of pork with mashed potatoes. Very nice waiter. He explained everything in the menu quickly and efficiently

Came in for a bite to eat after being at West Yorkshire Playhouse. We had visited earlier this year and vowed to go back as our first experience was also 'Spot On'. Several months later it did not disappoint. Great pub, lovely atmosphere and excellent food.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch at the Lamb and Flag, drink and food were excellent. Only minor issue was Mrs B ordered the Roast Pork, but it didn’t come with the crackling as advertised. Staff were unaware until I asked for it! Wouldn’t put us off returning as the food, drink and atmosphere is lovely!!

Atmosphere and food were great. Three of us had steak and ale pie with either chips or mash and I would strongly recommend. Good choice of beers at the bar and friendly staff. Will definitely return.

12 of us all over 60's had a lovely late afternoon meal before attending a carol service next door. The food was excellent and good value. The service was good even thought they were busy and we were made to feel welcome. Milly was very accommodating when I made the booking. We will definitely go back there next year.

I've been trying to book this venue for an event for over a week. I have rung countless times. The phone either goes unanswered, or there is an opportunity to leave a voicemail, which I have done several times, and nobody ever responds. I managed to speak to somebody once, who said she was too busy to speak with me and told me to send an email. I have been trying via email however the response rate is a a snails pace. It feels impossible to get any engagement from the team at this venue. Extremely poor customer service I'm afraid, which is a real shame as the venue itself is wonderful.

Lovely Sunday Lunch, top quality ingredients, freshly cooked and good portion sizes

Service was good in this nicely decorated pub in a lovely spot. I had brie and bacon sandwich £9 which a few others in my group had as well. The bread was very thick and dry. There was one small piece of brie in each half and 2 small bits of bacon in each half. It was all very tasteless and not enough brie. It would be a better toaster with melted brie. The chutney was non existent. The fat chips were almost big chunks of potato and no crispiness about them. Really enjoyed the decor and service but shame about the sandwich.

Ate the Sunday roast menu. Good quality upper-mid tier gastro-pub fair but nothing standout. Drinks were decent, pudding alright but not up to the main course. Staff were friendly and accommodating, especially given the busy weekend. Solid choice for the area at a standard price for central Leeds.

Great pub! Been coming here for a long time but I organised my work Xmas do for here last week. The staff were really accommodating both before and during the event. The food was great and the service was excellent. Would definitely host a large event here again. Thanks to Emily and the team for their support in organising the day!

Very disappointed that the Christmas braised beef, didn't come with any vegetables! Surely, it should when, on the Christmas 'set menu'?

Good main, cold brownie for dessert and asked to pass our plates to the end instead of the usual coming round to collect.

This a brilliant pub especially for the town centre. The food is great and there is a wonderful selection of ale. Usually for lunch it is quiet ( but not too quiet ) and is a good place to meet friends and chat.

Just add a steak £25 too much fat chips were nice 2 onion rings were nice not worth it over priced

Worst Sunday roast I've ever had. There were four of us, each of us got food at a different time. My beef roast cost 18.50£. on the plate I got one roast potato (tastless) and next to the mash potato (sic) one carrot cut in half and a small spoon of something that looked like greens, 2 thin slices of my beef looked like Poundland meat, horrible look and taste. restaurants like this only convince me to stay at home and cook for myself.

Lovely atmosphere friendly staff food really nice good value..had the fish a couple of times lovely and the Sunday lunch certainly didn't disappoint it was delicious..very busy but very organised.

It took ages for our food to arrive and when it arrived we were all disappointed with our portion size as if you’re paying £18 for a roast you expect more than a little slab of meat. The Leodis house lager was nice though.

We came for sunday roast it was pretty good! Only wish they were more generous with the gravy! The pork was a little overcooked and dry but would come back and try other dishes! 😄

Had been here before on a works do a few years ago and being impressed, so booked again with family. We were seated downstairs in quite a dark pokey part of the restaurant compared to the other areas we walked through, quite awkwardly joining a room being used for a baby shower with decorations up. From some faces including the party we were equally surprised that we’d be seated so close to them but got on with it. The party (rightly so) were having a great time but were so loud, constantly getting up to go for a cig or toilets squeezing between us to get in and out; my family could barely hear each other talking to the extent we sort of gave up on it, ate our mains quickly and left. Food took about 45 mins to come which felt too long, the party’s main and desserts came in that time so was definitely focussing to get their orders out rather than smaller tables, food was nice including the veggie main option but can’t say it WOW’ed us, but think this was more due to the atmosphere ruining it. Imo the restaurant shouldn’t be seating people in that area when there’s a party on, you are just shoved in a corner and the quality of experience is below par compared to the rest of the place. I rated it average though as the food was nice.

4 stars only because the food is a bit on the pricey side now, used to be better value, some in our party criticised portion sizes. Staff are good, coped well with our large party (booked in advance).

Lovely venue with cosy decor inside. Had the most delicious Sunday Roast with perfectly cooked pork, the crackliest crackling and a Yorkshire pud the size of my head. Finished off with one of the best sticky toffee puds I’ve had in a restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and more than happy to help. And the pinot grigio rose was also great. Finally, definitely order the stuffing and pigs in blankets.

Exactly what I needed on a cold Sunday afternoon! Super cosy pub with very friendly staff, and the food was unreal. Had roast pork Sunday lunch - could not fault it at all. The pork was so tender, the crackling was cracking and the yorkies were enormous. Chocolate orange tart was out of this world, had to roll me home afterwards but so worth it. Also just a side note, there was a disgruntled customer on the table next to us who was very unhappy, but seemed to be complaining for the sake of it as he left a clean plate. I just wanted to give a shout out to the waiter who had to deal with him. He handled it very well, was very professional and super polite. Staff went above and beyond and could not fault the service at all. Already looking forward to my next booking and haven’t stopped thinking about the roasties since. 10/10 highly recommend!

Izzy and Val attended us top notch. Readers, we are ITALIAN and spoiled food wise! It was all very very good!There are no photos cause we were too hungry but we had the roast(great massive portion with super good taste), the nduja scotch egg (YUMMMMYYY) And currently waiting for the dessert. If you think we came with our 4 year old autistic non verbal son,he loved the food and the place s not too noisy (Sunday 12.15pm). WORTH COMING HERE FOR GOOD FOOD

Ones of Leeds hidden gems. I’m always surprised how many people learn Leeds and have never experienced it. Being in the beer garden on an Autumn afternoon as the bell ringers practice next door is a rare pleasure. Beers decent, staff good. I envy those you get to call it their local
