The Lamb and Flag in Leeds

I organised a birthday party for my wife at the Lamb and Flag. The venue was amazing! The buffet food excellent and creative. The atmosphere perfect and the staff very helpful. Thankyou.

A fantastic first visit with attentive staff and fast service, food ordered was the beef Sunday roast along with a portion of pigs in blankets on the side! Would happily try again another time

This a brilliant pub especially for the town centre. The food is great and there is a wonderful selection of ale. Usually for lunch it is quiet ( but not too quiet ) and is a good place to meet friends and chat.

Just add a steak £25 too much fat chips were nice 2 onion rings were nice not worth it over priced

Worst Sunday roast I've ever had. There were four of us, each of us got food at a different time. My beef roast cost 18.50£. on the plate I got one roast potato (tastless) and next to the mash potato (sic) one carrot cut in half and a small spoon of something that looked like greens, 2 thin slices of my beef looked like Poundland meat, horrible look and taste. restaurants like this only convince me to stay at home and cook for myself.

Lovely atmosphere friendly staff food really nice good value..had the fish a couple of times lovely and the Sunday lunch certainly didn't disappoint it was delicious..very busy but very organised.

It took ages for our food to arrive and when it arrived we were all disappointed with our portion size as if you’re paying £18 for a roast you expect more than a little slab of meat. The Leodis house lager was nice though.

We came for sunday roast it was pretty good! Only wish they were more generous with the gravy! The pork was a little overcooked and dry but would come back and try other dishes! 😄

Had been here before on a works do a few years ago and being impressed, so booked again with family. We were seated downstairs in quite a dark pokey part of the restaurant compared to the other areas we walked through, quite awkwardly joining a room being used for a baby shower with decorations up. From some faces including the party we were equally surprised that we’d be seated so close to them but got on with it. The party (rightly so) were having a great time but were so loud, constantly getting up to go for a cig or toilets squeezing between us to get in and out; my family could barely hear each other talking to the extent we sort of gave up on it, ate our mains quickly and left. Food took about 45 mins to come which felt too long, the party’s main and desserts came in that time so was definitely focussing to get their orders out rather than smaller tables, food was nice including the veggie main option but can’t say it WOW’ed us, but think this was more due to the atmosphere ruining it. Imo the restaurant shouldn’t be seating people in that area when there’s a party on, you are just shoved in a corner and the quality of experience is below par compared to the rest of the place. I rated it average though as the food was nice.

4 stars only because the food is a bit on the pricey side now, used to be better value, some in our party criticised portion sizes. Staff are good, coped well with our large party (booked in advance).

Exactly what I needed on a cold Sunday afternoon! Super cosy pub with very friendly staff, and the food was unreal. Had roast pork Sunday lunch - could not fault it at all. The pork was so tender, the crackling was cracking and the yorkies were enormous. Chocolate orange tart was out of this world, had to roll me home afterwards but so worth it. Also just a side note, there was a disgruntled customer on the table next to us who was very unhappy, but seemed to be complaining for the sake of it as he left a clean plate. I just wanted to give a shout out to the waiter who had to deal with him. He handled it very well, was very professional and super polite. Staff went above and beyond and could not fault the service at all. Already looking forward to my next booking and haven’t stopped thinking about the roasties since. 10/10 highly recommend!

Lovely venue with cosy decor inside. Had the most delicious Sunday Roast with perfectly cooked pork, the crackliest crackling and a Yorkshire pud the size of my head. Finished off with one of the best sticky toffee puds I’ve had in a restaurant. The staff were all very friendly and efficient and more than happy to help. And the pinot grigio rose was also great. Finally, definitely order the stuffing and pigs in blankets.

Izzy and Val attended us top notch. Readers, we are ITALIAN and spoiled food wise! It was all very very good!There are no photos cause we were too hungry but we had the roast(great massive portion with super good taste), the nduja scotch egg (YUMMMMYYY) And currently waiting for the dessert. If you think we came with our 4 year old autistic non verbal son,he loved the food and the place s not too noisy (Sunday 12.15pm). WORTH COMING HERE FOR GOOD FOOD

Ones of Leeds hidden gems. I’m always surprised how many people learn Leeds and have never experienced it. Being in the beer garden on an Autumn afternoon as the bell ringers practice next door is a rare pleasure. Beers decent, staff good. I envy those you get to call it their local

Very handsome pub and great service. We had various versions of the Sunday roast. The pork and beef were a little overcooked and the Yorkshire puddings were about the size of Yorkshire itself, but it was still a lovely meal. Nice beer garden, too.

Ventured here for Sunday lunch, didn’t book but thankfully got a table. Opted for the Sunday Roast Pork, the meal was okay but had several issues for me (just my opinion/taste) - Yorkshire pudding was soggy - too much gravy on the plate, no option to add the amount you wanted - cracked black pepper used on everything which overpowered the flavour and you couldn’t taste much else - roast potatoes were so tough you could barely cut into them - pork was also quite tough Sadly overall wasn’t that impressed, and although the place is dog friendly some staff didn’t seem that keen to have them around. Shame about the food, but beautiful building 👍🏼

Very nice pub with lovely outside areas. We have eaten here before and the food is normally really good. This time however,although still good quality, everything was very salty. We had pie and mash and the mash and veg were just so, so salty. I had the pork loin. The pork was really good and came with a pepper sauce, but there was a sea of it everywhere, almost like it was custard and it swamped everything. Such a shame, as we will think twice before eating there again now.

Where do we even start! We had our wedding reception here yesterday and from start to finish it was perfect! We’re so thankful to the lovely staff, we didn’t have to ask for anything to be turned around or brought out and the food was delicious! All of our guests commented on how incredible the food and the venue was! A special thank you to Emily, who’s happily replied every email/call/question we’ve had along the way, the day was seamless and we’re so grateful to her! 🩷 Would recommend the lamb and flag to anyone, whether it just a drink, some food, or even your wedding!

First real dish in 5 days in Leeds. Very good pie. A little noisy atmosphere but there was a wedding. Very pleasant servers.

Cannot recommend highly enough. Great food and all staff so friendly and helpful. Our large multi generational party of children, adults & a dog were welcomed & accommodated with no problems.

Very good roast beef dinner, giant Yorkshire pudding. Sat upstairs, very airy and not crowded. The staff were efficient and friendly.

I recently booked a private room for 26 people for a graduation celebration. The whole process was super easy, I spoke with Emily over email to arrange everything and we pre ordered the food to make things easy on the day. They reserved the upstairs space for us which was more than enough, next to the balcony - which was great - and the evening just ran very smoothly. The food was great and on time, we had a bar service for ourselves and the staff was super nice, accommodating anything we needed. I would definitely recommend! Thank you so much guys!!

Tiny menu but manage to run out of food. Food I had wasn’t great and is the third time I’ve been disappointed. To top it all off got charged £3.10 for a pint of Cordial that costs about a penny. Happy to change my review if I get some money back for the cordials but I doubt it.

Had a nice stay. Room was comfortable and clean. 25 minutes walk into Abergaveny.

Excellent lunch @ The Lamb & Flag. I had the Niçoise salad which was very tasty; my husband had the sausage & mash which he said was excellent and the best he’s had for a long while. We would definitely have the same meals again although there were lots of other great dishes available. The restoration of the building a few years ago is also very impressive. Well done Leeds Brewery! We’ll be back.

Good place to have a beer or eat something without great pretensions, correct food in the price-quality ratio, weak desserts, good appearance but very mediocre, the service is attentive. If I return, it will be to have a beer, not to eat.

Avoid this place at all cost. Terrible food Terrible service and Terrible prices. Ruined my wife's birthday. Will never go back. I wanted a lamb Sunday lunch. They offered me a lamb lunch but still for the price of the lamb on the mains £24. Absolutely disgraceful. Over an hour waiting for food and when I asked where the food was I was told it was my fault it takes so long because I ordered the lamb. My wife's food was like a soup. Sunday lunch coverd in gravy. Food was cold and the guy who brought food had his thumb in the food.

Went for Lunch after a concert at the Conservatoire. Booked a table and shown to our seats with table service provided. Menu was varied and food lovely. Shout out to the staff for being attentive and generally lovely. Will be back.

Good food, I personally prefer to put my own gravy on my plate, maybe something to offer in future? Good service, we were looked after. Even organised a family party.

Great venue for the Leeds lit fest quiz!

Don't go there if you are not a native speaker. I spend 90% of my day speaking English, and I have never encountered a person that did not understand me. However, for some reason the server didn't understand the word "chips" and "gin", and made me repeat myself 3-4 times and still didn't get it. Hard pass due to the poor service.

Have been for a roast a couple of times and it’s good, but not my favourite. I’m pescatarian so obviously had the nut roast and Lamb & Flag’s is definitely not the best veggie roast in Leeds. The second time we came, the fire alarm went off for about 15 minutes and wouldn’t stop - when we asked they gave us a discount but I did feel they should’ve offered the discount without us having to ask as it really did impact our meal, especially as a group as we could no longer speak to each other over the sound of it. I really like the beer garden though and love coming here for a drink.

Great service and excellent food. Would recommend the seabass. The mash with the pie was ridiculously salty, which I think must’ve been a mistake.

Great food. Service started very well but then deteriorated when there was obviously a lack of staff. Lager choices not the best but the Savignon Blanc was delicious but very pricey. They need to sort out a proper smoking area for all the smelly dirty people.

My friend and I had the beef burger fish and chips. They were both underwhelming. The burger was burnt, chips were cold and the fish just looked sad. It felt like the food was cooked by some intern who could just not be bothered.

I don’t often leave reviews but this warranted some honest feedback. Utterly abysmal food. Imagine the worst pub food you’ve had, and this is that. I actually felt embarrassed eating it. Go somewhere else, do not waste your money. This may look and be marketed as a cute city pub, but trust me the food is absolutely grim.

Went on a Sunday. Bar is small and service quite slow, but it was busy and the staff are friendly and helpful. Beautiful looking pub, nicely decorated, quirky. Outside area very nice to sit and chill. Would recommend!!

Visiting from Canada, I wanted a restaurant in Central Leeds where a friend and I could enjoy a pleasant, leisurely lunch. The Lamb and Flag was perfect. The setting was very attractive, on two levels with an outside patio so we could find a quiet corner to chat. The food was good and reasonably priced. We just had sandwiches but then we indulged in the wonderfully decadent sticky toffee pudding. The wait staff were friendly; and, because the sun was shining, after lunch we were and had a drink on the patio.

Booked a table for food and drinks Saturday 11th May. A pleasant member of staff showed us to a nice table upstairs but seeing as it was such a nice day outside, we sat in the lovely beer garden. It's not table service outside but paying at the bar isn't a problem. The food was served in good time, to say it was busy and it did not disappoint. We had 2 of the flatbread's and a fish finger sandwich. Ordered extra chips and have to say everything was faultless. Really good quality ingredients and everything cooked to perfection. Chips were propper thick cut, homemade ones too :-). We happily sat outside for a few hours in the sun enjoying the chilled vibe and wine! All staff were friendly and helpful. A rare faultless experience these days. Well done Lamb and Flag.

I organised a work team meal here, and the food, service and atmosphere were exceptional. The staff were able to accomodate a last-minute addition to our party with no issues (after we had pre-ordered for everyone else), and worked really hard to look after us - would definitely recommend.

Came across this place by accident on a Saturday afternoon. What a gem! Absolutely loved my steak n ale pie (one of the best pies I’ve tasted) and my hubby was equally pleased with his fish n chips! The pub has a lovely atmosphere, stylish decor and friendly staff. There’s plenty of tables with dining upstairs too and there’s a lovely beer garden. Great menu with plenty of choice and we can’t wait to go back and try the Sunday roasts. Highly recommended.

Very surprised, read the reviews before booking and it was everything and more. Food was delicious, deserts unusual and first class. Staff very friendly and seemed to care that you had a good time. Lot of regulars which is always a good sign. Would definitely revisit

We booked it for a small party here and we all enjoyed it. The food was good and very tasty. The first time I have tasted cider Berries and Cherries it was amazing. We enjoyed it a lot. The staff is good and the service is fast.

We love it here and visit at least once a month when we’re in Leeds visiting our son who studies at the Conservatoire. Sunday roast is always bang on. Their nut roast is delicious. The Yorkshire puddings are off the scale! Lovely friendly staff who always look after us and our dog! Thank you.

We did not eat, just called in for a drink. Service was good, young lady ensured all glassware was spotless before pouring a drink. With fiends who have hired a room for a function looking forward to returning.

After paying the wrong amount your answer to my complaint sounds like its my fault because I havent check the bill and just trust. Also meaning you are so unlucky because another client haven't pay again the money that I have already paid. It doesn't seems to be an exception after learning the same happened to many friends. "Such is life" is not.the answer that a client woulld like to hear.

Bit more on the expensive side, but worth the money, friendly staff, decent vibe, and decent seating upstairs and outside, too

We had a Sunday lunch here on Easter Sunday. The food was okay but took a long time to come. The service was very slow and they seemed to be understaffed. It was also quite cold in the upstairs restaurant area, which made it uncomfortable. I won’t go back in a hurry. It’s so difficult to get a good quality Sunday Roast!

Went on a Tuesday night. It was still a good atmosphere with plenty in. Table booked for 20:30, we were early, the staff were more then accommodating. Food was 100% top dollar. Fantastic food. Simple but full menu. Staff were excellent and friendly. We will certainly be going again 👍
