Perfect place to go for lunch or breakfast little expensive but well worth it

Home cooked food 😋 and its open until 5pm which is great. Only thing is they ran out of what we wanted 😭but they did offer us alternatives options

Too much on the menu and it seems to repeat itself a bit. Tomatoes tasted very sweet as if sugar was added.

Cheap but clean and tidy with decent food. You can take out as well as dine in.

My chargrilled chicken sandwich turned out to be a southern fried chicken and bacon sandwich. It was nice, but not what I asked for. 😆 I couldn't be bothered getting it changed. Nice cafe a the same.

Great food whether eating in or taking away. Sandwiches are full not of tasty ingredients and the service is quick with friendly staff.

The DSC has been a 'go-to' for me ever since I was a kid, back when the cafe was actually still on David Street. And I'm pleased to say this little gem of a caff, hasn't changed a one bit. Granted, the food isn't what you'd call 'gourmet'. If you're after something poncy like smoked salmon or sushi, do an about turn & book a table @ Harvey Nicks. BUT... if you're after honest homemade grub that's sensational value for money, then look no further! 👌🏼 Their Steak Pie Dinners & Giant Breakfasts are to die for! Plus, here you get bread & butter with literally everything, as well as a complimentary cuppa too. To be honest, it's hard to find a cafe that's more Yorkshire. If Google would let me, I'd give it 10 👍🏼 PS/ If you're reading this John, please for the life of you bring back Christmas Dinner!! 💯

Excellent service and good value for money

Average at best. £4.20 for a burger and chips. The burger was cheap meat with some grated cheese and raw onions, really not that great. I really wish cafe’s would give you the option of cooked or raw onions. Chips were cold and again, average. Ok if you’re in the area but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go.

Small local cafe in Leeds 11, close to city centre. Called in this morning for quick breakfast. 2 poached eggs on toast and scrambled eggs on toast. Had health choices as well as the full month breakfast. Fast service, clean kitchen and eating area. Will definitely be back when I next work in the area. Good customer service and very friendly.

I have been coming to David's Street everytime I'm in Leeds. I can honestly say it's never disappointed me, the sandwiches are always fresh along with the bread. They also have such good options for desserts which is always a bonus. The people who serve are always friendly. Would definitely recommend. Charlie

First time here. Sandwich was really nice and reasonably priced. Didn't have to wait long for my food either. Did buy a slice of cake, which was okay, but lacking flavour. Will defo go back though.

We called at the cafe for a Sunday morning breakfast and weren’t disappointed. I asked for my egg to be scrambled (which was not on the menu) and was not disappointed. Fantastic choice and great value. Recommend.

Great little Cafe. I pass this on the way to work most mornings and they are always cheerful and happy. Great me in a friendly way and always serve you quickly and with a smile. Really like the service and food here especially the Bacon and Sausage sandwiches. Yum

I think something has changed here. This used to be the best cafe in Leeds. Its lime there are new owners... but I don't think there are.

Magic cup of tea, made the old fashioned way.. lovely sausage sandwich, and always a finely welcome from the guy on the counter. I bring my trainees here on the way to the train depot quite regularly, and always recommend the place to fill up for the day.

Fantastic to have a cafe that still sells traditional cafe grub at working men's prices. No fancy artisan sandwiches at a tenner each just good honest home made food at great prices. You can get a wholesome meal such as roast beef dinner with all the trimmings for 5.30 Chilli n chips 4.50 and these include tea and coffee Service is not slow at all. Servi E is very good. As they say book early to avoid disappointment as food runs out quickly

This place is a hidden gem the home made steak pie and mash is absolutely delicious friendly atmosphere and grate service

Unless you have an hour to spend queuing while the staff concentrate on nothing other than massive orders from nearby offices then I’d suggest your time would be better spent going elsewhere. Why it’s beyond the wit of the staff to have one staff member attending to customers eating in is beyond me. Best avoided in the working week.

Good 'greasy spoon' type food, spot on breakfast sandwiches. Friendly staff, nice to see this place still going (remember being taken here by my Dad 25 years ago at the original location). Sometimes we even get a bit of extra free sausage for the dog if he's being a good boy (whist waiting outside)

Lots of comfort food options at decent prices

I miss working down this side of Leeds for the very reason I can no longer go to David Street on my lunch break. The breakfast sandwiches are legendary however I love the steak pie and chips and chips and chilli. Always ready quickly and great value
