We deliberately chose to eat at the Lamb because of the great selection of veggie and vegan options, even though it meant driving past so many pubs on the way through some horrendous winter weather. On the way I was thinking, what are we doing?! But I appreciated you guys making the effort, so thought it only fair if we made the effort too! I'd checked so many menus before settling on the Lamb and was really impressed with what they had on offer, and it didn't disappoint. The mushroom bourgignon pie was absolutely superb, and the chips might be the best I've ever had (I consider myself somewhat of a chipophile, so that's saying something!). It genuinely felt worth the trip. So often eating out can be an experience where you think, why did I just pay to eat something I can do better at home?! I think that's especially true for veggie and vegan food. I can safely say that wasn't the case last night. The pub was quiet, which is fine by me. Maybe others prefer busy places. A few different choices of cask beer as well, again, I'm a happy man. All in all, loved it. Thanks.

Had a great Sunday lunch here! Delicious soft, puffy Yorkshire puds, rather than the enormous crunchy things you often get, seasonal veg beautifully cooked and yummy roast potatoes. Also they do small portions for those with smaller appetites, like my 90yr old Mum. Relaxed, friendly, efficient service and warm cosy environment. Definitely recommend.

UPDATE 2024 (3.5 stars): The Lamb has changed hands twice more in the last two years, since the original review below. The latest iteration is fine, but not really worth going out of your way for (which, given the location, is what most people will do). Food was ok, but not anything special. Service was fine but patchy. The bar area is cosy but the restaurant area looks tired. Sounds like they're having trouble keeping staff, so randomly dropping meal services. Hopefully they'll figure it out, but in the meantime there are better places (like the Tuns, even the Crown and Bear) nearby. UPDATE 2022: Sadly Risaro is now closed (although I think the pub itself is still open). Original review (5 stars): Great takeaway food! Tasty pub burgers, great chunky chips, onion rings and bbq beans. Slow cooked brisket was lovely and tender. And a couple of pints of draft beer to boot! Would definitely order again though, and look forward to visiting in person when lockdown ends.

Found this country pub on a quick Google search because we were in the area, and I am so glad we found this pub! The service was excellent from start to finish, the waiters and waitresses were so freiendly and took such good care of us! The food (roast sunday dinner) was just exceptionally good! The roast was cooked beautifully. We had on our table the lamb and the chicken, tender and jucy. The potatoes crispy on the outside fluffy on the inside and all the veg trimmings to go with it. Ohh and finally, a roast that comes with the right amount of gravy! It is good as well becuase the do 2 sizes if the roast is small and large, so it suits all appetites. Desert was divine, apple crumble, brownie, and a chocolate sundae! This place is a dog friendly location and is just perfect for an after county walk feast.

Today we had lunch at the lambs inn first time for us. Friendly staff but slow service. I had prawn cocktail which was tasteless needed some sauce. My husband had prawn baguette which the bread was soggy with water from the prawns. Unfortunately he’s been throwing up for the last two hours. My tuna baguette was nice but the chunky chips was inedible very over cooked. My advice would be to avoid the prawns.

The Lamb inn's food was totally delicious, I know that the photo of my plate is empty, but that clearly shows the quality of food here, I just couldn't wait long enough to get it in my tummy. I had the chicken & mushroom pie, it was a triumph, thick and succulent chicken in a most delicious sauce. My wife had a homemade chicken Kiev which again had the most succulent chicken and flavour. To follow, although we had the most filling main courses we could not miss out on a most wonderful dessert, apple crumble and custard. Thank you also, to the wonderful and attentive server, Millie, so pleasant, especially putting up with a demanding person like me. Would I recommend the Lamb Inn, in a heartbeat. Do not miss out on a great value for money meal with a fantastic atmosphere.

We are a locals, but following last night's meal, I would never consider dining there again or recommending it to anyone. The burnt rice toppings scattered all over the pizza resembled eating sand, and the lack of flavor was so pronounced that I resorted to adding salt to everything before ultimately abandoning most of the dishes. The chips were excessively crispy and hollow, the garlic bread mirrored the pizza's lackluster quality, and although the onion rings were passable, they failed to leave a lasting impression. The overall food quality was so disappointing that most of us left our plates scarcely touched. Despite my dissatisfaction, I refrained from voicing my concerns in person due to a mix of hunger and frustration. Spending £60 on such a subpar meal was disheartening, and I had no desire to endure a similar experience again. In fact, we ended up stopping at McDonald's on our way home, a testament to just how unsatisfactory the meal was. Overall, the dining experience was very disappointing. Please see photos added to the page to witness the lackluster quality of the food.

The Lamb Inn was a bit expensive. The seabass with potatoes and asparagus was £17.50. Two small pieces of seabass 1 inch long, asked for more potatoes cost £3.50 extra, billed as open food. Madrid beer £11.60 for 2 pints, that's £5.80 a pint. Total cost £77.05 for 2 starter/main/dessert/and two drinks each.

I've been twice in the last 3 weeks bringing different groups of family. We used to come quite often, but felt the food and service had gone down, decided to give it another go recently to find out the pub had changed ownership again in January. The food is so good, large portions, comes out piping hot and is all home made from what I can gather. The food is also very reasonably priced for the quantity and quality! The only downside is no sticky toffee pud on the pudding menu. But that won't put us off coming back again soon.

Just the kind of Sunday roast you are looking for! There are loads of place to find a Sunday Roast Lunch but few will match this. Generous portions, quality ingredients (the gravy will become famous!), comfortable and stylish restaurant, relaxed vibe. My roast beef was beautiful and the veg selection spot on...the added side of cauliflower cheese is a lovely touch and more than enough for two. The apple crumble dessert was 1) huge 2) perfect... the sweet cinnamon apple piping hot and the crumble on its own could be bagged up and sold! The service was swift and friendly, without being too instrusive - so thanks for that - not a great fan of continual "is everything okay for you?" Good value too, worked out about £30 per head for main, desserts and drinks (beer, soft drinks)

Have eaten at this gorgeous country pub twice now and had an amazing meal each time! On our first visit we tried the burgers - I had the chicken burger and my son had the brisket burger. Both were beautifully cooked and presented. The homemade slaw was gorgeous and the chips were really well done. Service was great and staff were really friendly. We then returned a couple of weeks later to take my dad-in-law for Sunday lunch. What a treat! My lamb was incredible, the rest of the family had the beef which they report was of great quality and perfectly cooked. A great variety of vegetables, lovely toasties and a HUGE Yorkshire pudding. The gravy was tasty as well. Portions were perfectly sized to allow room for dessert and trust me, you do not want to miss out on that! My lemon posset with home-made shortbread biscuits was delicious. My hubby and son had the apple crumble and grudgingly let me try some - thank goodness as it was the best apple crumble I have ever had, just sooooo good!! The pub was busy but service remained really good with lovely staff and a roaring fire in the wood burner next to our table. A perfect Sunday lunch! The pub is under management by a new team, led by Jon. He and Lyn are such lovely warm people and their staff are wonderful. They deserve every success and I hope that more people hear about and seek out this fabulous pub!

The Lamb has only been back open since the 27th Jan of this year so still early days for them. Saying that the young staff were friendly and an efficient service throughout our meal . The menu covered all bases including a separate Vegan menu which was refreshing to see in a pub. My husband had the Vegan chickpea curry and I had the triple sausages with bacon mash. Both meals were presented well and very nice. A small suggestion would be to provide cushions on the hardwood dining chairs for a bit of comfort and maybe have some warm lights in the windows to make the pub look a little more welcoming from the outside. Car parking at The Lamb is easy as is the access. They are also dog friendly!! Good luck to all of the team at The Lamb!! We will definitely be coming back!!

On arriving at The Lamb Inn I was pleasantly surprised. The pub looked warm and inviting. Sadly, the menu was rather strange, (English) we couldn't find anything English. The spring rolls were dripping in oil, the caesar salad incorporated lettuce giant hard croutons 4 anchovies placed in what one would call a finger bowl. The kimche tasted like cabbage soaked in vinegar. Need I say more!! The only thing that tasted good was the chips. Rather expensive at £47.00 for two!!! We are very surprised at the 5 star reviews??

Not family friendly at all! Won’t be returning to the lamb and as a local it’s very disappointing. Popped in, after a family dog walk for a quick pint. After a long wait for the I can only guess the newly training bar staff to serve us our drinks, we sat in the garden. Whilst waiting for our drinks there were a few rowdy gentlemen swearing at the top of their voices which was unpleasant enough for our children. Our children were outside playing when we were rudely interrupted by a member of staff asking us to keep our children quiet as there are people in the restaurant. I could not believe we were asked that after hearing all of the abusive language being shared at the bar. Poor service and poor behaviour toward local family’s!

We have just had the best pub Sunday roast for a long time at the Coach and Horses! The food was delicious and hot and plentiful. Al dente vegetables, tender meats and excellent Yorkshire puddings! The waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive and we've had a lovely time. Thank you all

Popped in today and we were not let down. A chilly day was soon forgotten when we saw the log burner in full flow. So cosy. Great selection of drinks on offer .and the food was delicious. Let's not forget the service which was excellent. Highly recommended.
