The Lake House in Rushmoor

I got my wife the Mother’s Day hamper today from my children, unbelievable price for the quality of the hamper, my wife did one for her mum from a different place near Epsom, it was more expensive and not even the variety of the selection from the Lake house, thank you for making my wife very happy lady. Can’t wait till the 12th of April.Kevin

Really enjoyed our visit today with friends. We booked and they gave us two tables to maintain social distance, but still allowed us to enjoy each other’s company.The food we had was excellent; my husband said it was the best burger he had ever had. The cakes looked fantastic, but after a substantial sandwich, I could not have fitted anything more in,Would really recommend this little place - staff were lovely.

Two of us visited for lunch. We hadn’t booked but arrived at 12.00 so were able to get a table. We felt very safe throughout the visit. The food was lovely. The service was very friendly and quick. The view is beautiful. I look forward to returning after lockdown round 2!

Came out for lunch with my family, slow service on the mains and a small person got very hungry. Made up for with great tasting food and excellent customer service.

Really lovely setting. We were lucky enough to have good weather and sat outside.We had booked a table but had a 30 minute wait for food as the cafe was really busy with takeaway orders. The food was good and well presented.The only issue was that there is not any vegan options, even though it states on their burger menu 'check out our vegetarian and vegan choices'. The vegan option was a veggie burger served in a brioche bun. We pointed out that brioche was not vegan and we were offered the burger without a bun and without cheese for the same price! I appreciate that not all establishments cater for vegans, but I did inquire prior to booking.

We popped in for a breakfast at lunchtime and we couldn’t have had a nicer time. The staff were friendly, food delicious and the view was amazing. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and we will be back again - certainly worth the 5 stars!

Who knew about this hidden cafe? Not me, until today. Staff friendly and efficient. Social distancing good. Veggie breakfast and tea for just under £10. Beautifully cooked and presented. Welsh rarebit, eggs Benedict etc.

Can’t believe I never knew this existed having lived in Aldershot for over a year now. Decided to go for breakfast with my other half. We were greeted at the door straight away and shown to our booked table (there was the offer to sit outside also). We placed our food order at the counter, drinks arrived almost immediately and food came out in under 10 minutes.Staff were lovely and attentive, food was great and the setting was gorgeous. Will definitely be going again!

This was on my list of places to try for months, after seeing an encouraging write up on GetSurrey. It is one of those hidden locations, down a rutted track to an area like a small business park. The sign at the top of the track is faded and easy to miss, and the one on the other side of the road is bent round the lamp post. Plus the sat nav had other ideas. So we felt we had earned cake by the time we arrived.It is indeed a lovely view over the lake, and you can enjoy it from the patio or from the interior of the conservatory‐style cafe. We sat outside for the full effect. (The conservatory windows seemed a bit grubby and one or two were running in condensation.)Staff were friendly and efficient. Sturdy pottery mugs for hot drinks, altho it wasn't a full cup of tea and the bag was stewing in the cup by the time it came out. We tried a cake and a scone - both pleasant but not exceptional.Then we went for a walk along the canal path overlooking the cafe and saw how sadly neglected the property was 'behind the scenes'. It may not be the cafe's responsibility but it reinforced the slightly tired feel of the cafe ‐ perhaps after their busy day of brunches and lunches we were not seeing it at its best.I have enjoyed many little cafes in marinas, dockyards and beach shacks that have managed to be hospitable, clean, tasty and friendly so I felt obliged to put this one in the 3* box. But it was still a happy place to have a cup of tea and watch the free range chickens and ducks wandering by.

Have been here many many times, and will continue to visit The staff are friendly and can’t do enough for you, and the food is spot on, all this in a beautiful setting What more could you ask for !

Fabulous outdoor area over looking the lake. Great service and 100% geared up for social distancing. Amazing food with friendly staff where nothing is too much trouble. Amazing portions but always room for some cake. Will definitely recommend and come again. (Visiting from the New Forest).

After arriving and being seated straight away the staff were very attentive and extremely helpful. Myself and my friend order afternoon tea and it didn’t disappoint. Food was amazing and presentation was excellent. The staff checked everything was okay and were on hand if we needed anything. Extremely pleasant and warming experience and I left feeling full and relaxed. Would definitely recommend and visit again. Thank you for a lovely afternoon.

Lovely afternoon tea, great choice of sandwiches, cakes and fruit scone, great service and they even added extras to the cream tea we took home for father in law.

Reserved a table for my family only for this place to cancel my booking and give the table to someone else without informing me. Terrible service and they have lost a long standing regular customer and someone who used to reccomend.Never again.

Have just returned from the cafe and can honestly say not one of the five of us had a comlaint a bout the food.The strawberry smoothy was a little over the top with strawberry seeds so could do with being strained a little but otherwise very tasty.

We’ve just moved into the area and it was recommended that we come here by some friends and it did not disappoint, this cafe is wonderful. The menu is great with plenty of choice for everyone and even has vegan friendly options which is a huge bonus! The staff here were so warm and welcoming and has great family vibes to it. Already can’t wait to come back to this cute spot!

Recently went for an afternoon tea with a friend to celebrate saying yes to the dress. Service was brilliant, food was delicious and nothing was too much. Love sitting out in the sunshine and enjoying the view! Highly recommended everyone should give it a go!

Without a doubt, the best place I have eaten in Hampshire.Upon our arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff on a very hot day. They were extremely busy but managed to squeeze us on to a table outside. The staff were so welcoming and lovely.Due to the busyness, food did take a little while but we were warned before we ordered and the food was well worth the wait. I recommend the bacon burger.We look forward to visiting in the near future.

Booked a table online for 12.30 12/08/20 Called straight away to amend booking from 2 to 3 people, was told over the phone, “don’t worry just come as we arent that busy tomorrow anyway” we arrived at 12.15 only to be ignored for 5 mins, waiting in the boiling sun with a child. Twice the young girl with dark hair looked over and eventually came to see you us. I said we have a table booked for 12.30 and she walked away. Then an angry looking blonde lady cane out and said, “where are they then?” We were the only people stood in the designated area. So werent hard to see, she then said to my mum “come closer then!” At this point I’m thinking I dont even want to eat here. The blonde then said have you got a table booked I said yes at 1230, she walked away looking at all the EMPTY outside table saying as she went, I can’t see anything, I can’t see anything. She then looked over said I can’t find the booking. I said don’t worry about it. She replied with a FINE. And we walked away. DISGUSTING SERVICE, customer service, food smelt horrible anyway like rotten fish. Avoid at all costs. When people all over the country are losing their jobs this woman should think herself lucky that employers want someone like that.

We both enjoyed a really tasty standard breakfast with coffees. Service was very good and a pleasant surrounding. Will go again.

The Lake House is in an ideal location, close to the canal, with lovely views overlooking the lake. They have an all day breakfast menu with some great choices for vegetarians and a delicious selection of homemade cakes. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be my new regular brunch spot!

Lovely oasis in quite a scruffy area - worth a visit. Popped up on Facebook, maybe from Go Surrey, and determined to check it out. The roads nearby are a it of a fright, with potholes, industrial barriers and lost of scruffy small industrial units. But take the drive to the cafe and end up in a little oasis. Beautiful lake, and a nice café with great views over the lake, both in winter from inside, or summer from the terrace. Food is café food, but all fresh and well done.

After ordering food, we assured we would be provided allergy information so we could order for our son. After complaining we were informed that this was not available and we should leave as they did not know what was in their food.

Lots of variety for breakfast to suit everyone and the location is amazing! Will definitely be back:)

We were taken to the hidden away Lake House by friends whoi live locally. What a well kept secret and lovely surprise! The views of the lake from the restaurant were far reaching and peaceful. We had a breakfast sandwich each and our friends had the full english breakfast. The service is polite and friendly with everythung cooked to order. The sausages and bacon were of a superb quality and were locally sourced. The bread was super fresh too. There was also a good choice of home made cakes that I would like to have tried! Highly recommended.

Went for breakfast after someone recommended the lake house on social media. There was 7 of us (4 adults and 3 children).. we found a perfectly sized table straight away without needing to push tables together as is often the case. The food was great, we ordered the big bite breakfasts which is enough for anyone, amazing sausages, well presented and reasonably priced.. the eggs Benedict which I’m told was also lovely and 3 kids breakfasts... the coffee was great too. Will definitely go again and again.

I had heard that the Lake House cafe was super for breakfast and, as someone who does like a fry up, I had to try it. I was not disappointed! With a great range of breakfast, I went for the full English and even the black pudding as they state that they source good things locally.

First visit to this lovely cafe. Lived here forty years and didn't know it existed. What a gem, the setting is beautiful. The welcome and food superb. Will be lovely in the summer and we shall be back!

The food was okay but the sandwiches only had two fillings and no top up of tea offered. The surprise was when we paid the bill......£19.95 each ........ VERY pricey for what it was.

Great brunch for 6, staff friendly, cooked breakfast were hot and not greasy. Very tasty. Unsure of wait as we were not in a rush. Well worth the visit and will go back again.

A friend and I popped in for a bite to eat this afternoon and had a really lovely lunch. We both had a panini which was very tasty and then we started eyeing up the delicious cakes that they have on offer when a very nice gentleman behind the counter let us know that some freshly baked chocolate Brownies were just coming out of the oven and that we could have that instead with a dollop of ice cream. Naturally we both ordered the brownie and I'm so pleased we did because it was absolutely heavenly! A lovely big generous portion and every mouthful was utterly delicious! I hope it becomes a staple on the menu!!

if you are not in a rush, then go for it, took ages to get our breakfasts, the food is good though. just way to long to get it. around 40 minutes.

Came across this gem of a place this morning with my friends . The food is fabulous... lots to choose from for a vegetarian such as myself and reasonably priced. Th3 staff were friendly and smiley but best of all was the most amazing view onto the lake.

We visited the Lake house Sunday afternoon which we quite often do for a quiet coffee as we love the views onto the lake and the peace and quiet... However today we arrived just before 4pm and one side of the cafe seating area was completely shut off. So we had to sit on the other side with all of the anglers that had just finished fishing. I am not a snob but they are very loud and some choice language was being used which is fine, but I don't particularly want to be apart of it. We just wanted to sit and see the lake and have a quiet coffee but we weren't able to do that. A very disappointing visit for us today.

Read some reviews about this place after the Get Surrey article and think it’s all a bit unfair. All I’ve ever experienced is friendly service and great food. I’m glad they don’t let Dog’s in the bloke who wrote that needs to get a grip and it’s never been table service or claimed to do table service.

A great evening hosted by The Lake House for an anniversary party with 60 plus guests. The location was beautiful, the food great and the service first rate. Strongly recommend this venue for such events

We saw an advertisement for this Cafe in our local online news shot on Facebook, which gave us some basic information about the area and food they serviced! So we set off with our little dog and drove the half hour! As we eventually found the location, and as we were driving down the dirt track we were met with signs stating ‘ NO DOGS ALLOWED’ ? I went in to ask the question why ‘ no dogs’ and why was this not on their advertisement? I got shouted back by several ladies stating that it was on their website? That’s true it is on their website, but not on the news shot! Their attitude to a me as a potential customer was very unfriendly, and as a result I could not be bothered to go back, or recommend them to our friends and family! Shame as it was in a lovely area !

We visited the lake house today for breakfast, it was a fantastic little place wonderful food,great service very friendly and welcoming. I would highly recommed this little gem xx

Didn’t even know this existed.,...beautiful setting, didn’t have a meal but the menu looked good and the cakes looked wonderful. Will be going back to test it all out.

An average cafe serving basic, somewhat bland, traditional fayre but in a nice lakeside setting. Could probably do so much more with this place.

Took a trip from Guildford with my daughter for lunch. We were told there was a 45 minute wait for food. We took a table outside in the expectation that a waitress would take a drinks order whilst we waited for food but nope ... nothing. Ignored for 20 minutes even though it was now 2pm and the cafe was half empty so we left.

This cafe received recent local fame through a Surrey publication, noting it was a hidden gem. However, while the setting is quite nice, the food fails to meet the standard and the wait for the food is unacceptable. My poached eggs and avo on toast was not worth the money I paid for it. Clearly cheap and small eggs and the toast was near cold. We waited 45 minutes for our food and we were not told at the time of ordering there would be an extra long wait. Staff too busy to come to the counter on several occasion. Overall quite disappointing.

We visited this very secluded cafe with a lakeside plot. It was advertised in the local paper as a gem but it's is a nice place but be ready for rush and squeeze as I think the whole of Surrey now knows about it. Although there are great sandwiches and cakes some of the special tea need booking prior to comming and need reservations for tables. We arrived on a Sundayi around 1pm and it was very busy and the staff were really rushing to keep up with the ever increasing flow of people that arrived. There are ample tables outside the cafe and a few inside. But if you can get a table outside your very lucky. Some of the tables could do with replacing and it had some wear from the weather. The cutlery needs more attention as a few of the needed putting back into the dishwasher. But these are minor things that needs doing and sure if they will sort it out as they do have nice location and if it's as busy as the day we arrived it will continue to be popular. The service was very fast and as soon as I order it it was out of the kieand your name was called outside to ensure of its rightful customer. It's a place to bring the kids to get them some fresh air and if you have wheel chair it's easy to get outside. They also have wifi access but we couldn't access it. The have breakfast served until 2pm. There is a good selection of wine and beer beverages and the cake selection is fantastic, just try the velvet red cake.

Popped in after hearing some good things early on a Sunday morning. Ended up staying for brekki followed by homemade cake! Beautiful food, lovely views. Book in advance if you are coming on a nice day any later than 10:30am I would say, as when we left they were at capacity. Staff are friendly and food is gorgeous

Such a brilliant cafe and amazing staff. It was clear that they all were working their hardest to keep all customers satisfied and when my food arrived it was absolutely delicious and very well priced (especially when you compare to other cafes in Surrey- better quality and definitely cheaper in price). Everything is cooked on site and the kitchen are very accommodating to any dietary requirements.

FB suggested in an Ad that this was a some sort of Cafe Utopia tucked away in Surrey, at the end of an unmade track, next to a lake.

We stopped by over the bank holiday and had a great lunch. While the café was very busy, the staff kept everyone in the loop with waiting times, worked themselves hard to get everything sorted and showed positivity throughout. The busy lunchtime was simply due to a social media article proclaiming how good the café was!

Very disappointed. Read a rave article in get surrey about this secret hide away so thought we’d give it a go on bank holiday lunch for a spot of lunch with the family. Arrived at 12:45 after driving 40 minutes found a table went to order and was told there was no more food ordering taking place. If they can’t accommodate the amount of tables available they shouldn’t be serving especially on a bank holiday. It wasn’t even late in the afternoon it was pretty early on in the day.

It was hugely busy at lunch time on bank holiday Monday and food orders were stopped for a while. I waited a long time for a coffee. However the staff were working very hard and managing to remain cheerful in spite of soaring temperatures and hoards of customers. The venue is lovely and I spend ages looking out over the lake. When i was able to order food Sometime later I had a sausage sandwich which was lovely. I would recommend this place and will definitely visit again but perhaps when slightly less busy.

Visited today for the first time, literally just searched good places for breakfast near me and this hidden Gem came up. After seeing the website and potos we knew we had to try this place.

Recommendation from my neighbour. We went for lunch and were made to feel very welcome and the things for children were great. Food was lovely and staff very attentive and friendly. Cant wait to return. Prob be my new regular!!

I saw this place recommended on Facebook a lot so I went one morning to check it out. They had lovely cakes available and I asked if they did a pot of tea for one which they did. Sat outside by the lake and it was beautiful. The breakfasts looked yummy and my carrot cake was lovely.

Saw this advertised on social media and thought we would give it a go ! Shame it was raining as nice views over the lake and would have been nice to sit outside. Very pleasant internally and all staff friendly and welcoming. We both had prawn sandwiches which were very nice followed by a gorgeous cake which was made on the premises. Coffee was good too, all a reasonable price. Only one moan!!! tables were a bit tacky and could have done with a good wipe. Will definitely visit again.

Come here so often and it never fails to disappoint me. Only once did I have something not turn out right with the food and there were many apologies and it was fixed immediately.

Me, my partner and my son (3) came here on Saturday morning and it was just beautiful. Lovely location, food was gorgeous, staff where nice and polite. Amazing breakfast!

Walked down from town along the canal for a fabulous late breakfast early brunch. Ordered our food at the bar and chose a great table outside next to the lake on a gorgeous sunny morning. Service is polite but some of the tables were left uncleared which is never a pretty site. I ordered the eggs Benedict while my girlfriend had poached eggs avocado on granary bread. Mine was superb with ham being local excellent and not vinegary but eggs slightly underdone. My girlfriends was again excellent just avocado should have been crushed but was sliced. This place is a jewel in the crown on Aldershot eateries and will be an enormous success just a few loose ends need tweaking that’s all! Will be recommending it!

Probably the nicest place in Aldershot. Beautiful scenery, great home cooked food, good portion sizes and friendly staff. The breakfast was perfect. Would recommend to anyone looking for a bite to eat. Didn’t feel like I was in Aldershot. Loved it

First time visiting The Lakehouse, booked a cream tea which wasn't booked in at correct time so waited 20mins. Were given 2 free bottles of small prosecco as an apology which was nice. Staff were nice and friendly.

An out of the way eatery which I visited with a friend for lunch. We sat outside 'cause the weather was perfect. The fishermen were there hoping for a catch - it was nice looking out at the lake. The Customer Service is good but a few mistakes were made. They forgot our pot of tea and our cutlery and napkins. (They were genuinly apologetic). That said the food was yummers and perfectly cooked. Nice place to visit and I'll be going there again.

Lovely location. Hidden away down an unmade road (so be careful if you have a low car). Great setting. Good food. friendly staff. Inexpensive. Good place to take friends or family. Eat in or out. Views overlooking the lake are wonderful and very relaxing. Plenty of car parking.

Been going to the lake house pretty much every Sunday with my other half for the last 6 months or so, Really lovely food and a nice atmosphere, all the staff very nice, Today however i was greeted by a sharp/course older lady who was borderline rude, The breakfast was horrible, Sausages seemed to be not of the quality they once were (from a well known local butchers) The bacon was very much the same, WHAT IS GOING ON!? I will give it one last shot next Sunday as it is not cheap! i can pretty much speak on behalf of most people when i say we don't mind paying for the quality but if its not there we wont be either, PLEASE SORT IT OUT! ITS MY FAV SUNDAY MORNING HIDEOUT! Oh and i was charged £1.50 for a can of Rio!

I have had breakfast here several times now, the food is excellent, only the best local produce is used, the view over the lake is lovely especially if your sitting outside. However the service is very very slow, i.e I had breakfast there this morning, it was a lovely morning and after ordering we sat outside, we waited and waited for our drink, I went back inside and was told they had forgotten them!! Our food turned up before the drinks (food was excellent again though), when our drinks did arrive (Large Mocha & Hazelnut Latte) neither tasted or looked like what they should of been (although I have had very good mocha’s there in the past), I could not be bothered to go back in, we

What a lovely hidden gem for Aldershot to have a fab breakfast or lunch with fizz !with a lovely relaxing view of the lakes . Friendly staff and welcoming to all ages . Very reasonable prices. Cant wait to try out their afternoon teas . We will be back !

Have just been for lunch at The Lake House. Like others have said it is a hidden gem. Lovely food, great views and lovely friendly staff. We will definitely be returning very soon.

Had a great vegetarian breakfast excellent value for money generous portions. Staff were friendly. Alas no dogs (signs say regretfully) allowed can understand due to being a fishing lake but could easily accommodate well behaved ones in the future? Especially as very close to a number of dog walks. However will visit again surrounding very peaceful & picturesque.

I had an excellent time at the Lake House. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the food was delicious. I do not mind waiting slightly longer to be served food cooked from fresh on site. It was fantastic. Clean facilities. Great location. Delicious food. Highly recommend.

New to the area and was searching for somewhere to have a nice breakfast and feel that relaxed weekend vibe. Well, this place definitely delivered.

We had the pleasure of having breakfast here on a family fishing trip. The food was out of this world- hands down the best fry up I’ve ever had. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Produce is sourced locally which is a big thumbs up from me. Very friendly and attentive staff. Well worth a visit. Will be back again soon. Thank you!

Visited for the 1st time today with my two children and mum.

This is a hidden gem! Having been introduced to The Lake House for coffee by a friend, my husband and I went for breakfast this morning. The food was excellent, hot, fresh and tasty. Worth a particular mention is the gorgeous bread used for the toast. The service was friendly and very quick. We were there with our young baby and there is plenty of room for pushchairs. I also noticed they had a nice children's menu and colouring sheets and pencils. Will definitely be back - I need to try the scrummy looking cakes!

I’ve been to the Lake House quite a few times now and never been disappointed. The food is lovely, especially the homemade cakes, scrummy! The staff are all friendly and helpful. The setting is beautiful, clean and well kept. Definitely recommend!

Was recommended here by a friends that has been lots of times, Amazing Food.... so much so we were full up from lunch so we took some of there delicious cake home! Fantastic service, beautiful spacious setting and good parking. Shall be a regular from now on! X

Upon arrival was seated immediately and spoken to so politely and friendly. Once food arrived the portion size was delightful and the food was delicious. 10/10 would recommend to anyone in the area who is looking for a welcoming place to enjoy some lunch

We had a Mother's Day lunch yesterday at the Lakehouse and it was very nice, the staff were good and the food was amazing. Loved the little touch of all mums getting a small bottle of prosecco. Would recommend this place to everyone as the views are also amazing, its a little hidden gem in Aldershot.

Booked a table for 3pm, arrived at 2.58pm. Had to wait to be seated, Plastic cups on tables like a child’s party.

Just visited here for Mothers Day lunch. Nice touch each Mother got a small bottle of Prosececo the meal was delicious and waiting staff were attentive and vetRy friendly. Will definitely visit again 😊

This Sunday we went out to The Lakehouse with friends. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. Food was ok, ambiance was amazing but they did not cater for gluten free even though when we booked they said they did. Very disappointing so I could not recommend to anyone with any intolerances.

Tried this as a new place to have breakfast and it was lovely. The food was delicious. If I was to be really picky there are a couple of things that could have been improved, the table we sat at was a little sticky and the service was a bit slow. If both of them were fixed I would give full marks! It has a great view overlooking Gold Valley lakes and is a welcome change to your day to day cafe. We will be popping in now and again when we fancy breakfast and most certainly will be making the effort in the summer to sit outside.

Have heard about this place and was keeping an eye on the reviews and their Facebook page to see if it was worth a punt. Took a punt and booked it up for the ol mans birthday, there were 7 of us in total. The food came out and was really tasty and everyone enjoyed it and was quite surprised how busy the place was. Well worth a visit, lovely food, great atmosphere and friendly staff.. book in advance as it will become even more popular and will return.

Went here this morning for breakfast with my mum, daughter-in-law and two small grandchildren. The first thing you notice is the gorgeous views across the lake. We were seated in a lovely table by the window and served promptly. Had the standard breakfast which was the best I have had in a long while. It was presented beautifully and I was particularly impressed when my 20 month old grandson's came with a plastic plate and plastic cutlery. They have toys and books to amuse little people and staff could not have done more. We will be back !!

Can’t quite believe this was the first time I’ve ever been here. It’s tucked away in the outskirts of Aldershot lovely looking the fishing lakes. It’s a bit quirky and rough around the edges. I assume it started as a cafe for the fishermen and retail users but as turn into a nice cafe/tea room. Good food, great service and reasonably priced. We came on a dull March afternoon. I can only imagine during a nice summers day it would be even better

This is a quirky little place tucked away at the end of a lane (drivers beware it’s a bit bumpy). We went for the Sunday lunch and it was great value and very tasty, just like being at home. Drinks are also sensibly priced and staff pleasant and attentive. We will back for sure.

Absolutely beautiful surroundings and friendly warm welcome. We had the Christmas lunch and have to say it made such a refreshing change to have fresh vegetables and the beef was amazing. If you’re thinking about trying this place go! We will definitely return for Sunday lunch and want to try afternoon tea in the summer.

Went here today to meet up with my dad and sister for a Xmas dinner , the food was lovely and the service was good too , I would definitely recommend

We often go here for breakfast. Hidden away by the fishing lakes, so great views over the waters. Fantastic food freshly cooked in a great setting. There is a resident robin that visits your table as well. Our granddaughters love him.
