The Knights Lodge in Corby

My wife and I had a change of restaurant today and decided to give The knightlodge Corby a go. I had the mixed grill and my wife had rump steak. Wow both were plentiful and tasty. I am a big eater and I found I had to leave some of my meal. Will be visiting again very soon to check more delicious meals.

A night out for four mature ladies. A very nice meal with good portions. Good friendly service. We'll be back.

Really nice pub. Food mediocre at best. Menu choice extremely limited. If you like steak pie and chips or scampi and chips your in! Service poor, waited to be seated. Realised after several minutes waiting we had to ring a bell to get attention. Range the bell and the waitress appeared and pointed to a table across the the other side of the room. Steak pie was extremely salty, lots od gravy with limited meat. The chips were.........chips! Served with pease. Friends had the scampi and chips! The food standard is reflected in the price .Not expensive Wont be back

Went with family on Sunday and had garlic mushrooms to start which were well over cooked , hard as bullets , no garnish either which I think looks bad , next I had a Sunday roast with beef and turkey both meats were descusting definitely not cooked on premises but I.d say brought in n carved up , everything tasted sweet like sugar had been added even the horrible gravy that hadn't seen a meat juice , the brought in Yorkshire puds were nasty to , all in all very disappointing

Food was lovely and staff from restaurant and pub were very friendly and helpful. Plenty of free parking

I have eaten here a few times. The serve is always happy and friendly. The pub has a good family environment. Would highly recommend.

We went for my sons birthday .top class service so welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Staff went above and beyond to help us .food was fantastic all served at same time and didnt wait long .will definitely be making it a regular place for visiting

Fabulous Christmas meal. Excellent value for money, had the set Christmas meal, could not fault any of it. Lovely atmosphere

My wife had never been to this pub and as it was so old wanted her 50th birthday meal there, I pre booked it for usand my dad, she loved tje look of it on arrival, we went in and it was like walking into The Slaughtered Lamb' from the film 'An American Werewolf in London' as a large group of people went quiet and wax starring at us as we went to the bar!!! Pretty weird!!! Got our drinks and went upstairs to the restaurant area, pretty small and we was the only people there and we liked that, ordered our food and it but it was odd we had to pay straight away? The food came out pretty quick tho, the food was great and hot and we enjoyed it a lot, we had to get our own drinks downstairs at the bar which could be a problem for some people and unusual that it doesn't get added to the bill and you get table service? a good meal tho and a fun night out.

Not been in this pub for so long, still looks the same and has its old features, got 2 Pints of 'Doom Bar' and ground a table, the results service was on which was good, it was a bit noisy where we was but it was OK, a lively friendly place and a big front garden to sit in with a restaurant upstairs.

Booked over the phone for a table of 4 . Arrived , no one around to seat us . One table left for 4 we assumed was ours so sat down . 15 minutes and no acknowledgement so I asked if we were at correct table . Someone came out of the kitchen and said we were not in her book and I was advised next time not to book via the bar number on the web site and Facebook . I was given a card with 2 numbers on and to my surprise the main number she just told me not to call on was on the card . We moved to a table in the bar before ordering and paying for the meal . Starters were decent . Main meals were Luke warm and the Sunday roast was a total tragedy. Chewy beef any gristly pork tasted like it was microwaved, two roast potatoes that were green inside and stone cold as was everything on the plate except the meat . Gravy was the consistency of glue , cold and tasted very odd. Green beans so overcooked they were almost mush First meal ever had here and def the last . Waitress was lovely . Shocking serving up this kind of customer service and food .

The food was incredible, I had a Chinese chicken curry and friend had a salad. Both portions were great and honestly one of the best curries I've ever eaten. The bar staff and kitchen staff were polite and helpful. Literally the only downside to the business is its lack of repair. Seats ripped and taped up, wobbly table and a smell of stale beer. But for food that good I'd happily eat there every day of the week.

Came for a work party / lunch and I was impressed with the food it was lovely can't tell you the price as it was paid for by work , but can't fault it as the food was good and there was plenty of bar staff so no waiting to long for a drink. I would definitely recommend

Good value quality food..nothing fancy, but just good wholesome food. The steak pie is amazing. Sunday lunch very good value for money. The pub itself needs an update and is a bit grotty inside but dining area upstairs is nice.

Atmosphere is great. Good for all types of diners. Fantastic food and drink all at a great price. Classic British pub!!

Food was lovely fresh and served hot staff in give you a warm welcome from the bar to the eating area.

Went for an evening meal with friends. Never been here before but we were told about it so decided to give it a try. Not very busy but we had booked a table so upon arrival were told to go upstairs. We were the only ones there but it didn't matter. We were given the menu which had a good choice of traditional pub food. We chose our meals and the boys went down to the bar for drinks. Food arrived after about 30 minutes piping hot, plenty of it and we were all impressed with our choices. Three of us had desserts again good traditional puds. All in all a good meal and great value for money.

We visited for an Xmas night out. What can I say. The food was fabulous and home cooked. I had the vegetarian option and Jackie even made me a jug of veggie gravy. the whole meal was delicious and the portion sizes were big. I would definitely recommend this place.

Went with my boyfriend for a meal on a Saturday. We have just purchased a house nearby and thought we would try it out. Very small pub and full of locals. I ordered the homemade steak pie which was delicious. Portions were large so good value for money. In all honesty I noticed the staff lift stuff out of the freezer a few times but couldn’t say for certain what they were taking out. I would return again in the future.

Visited firstly 6 MTHS ago and now a weekly dinner visit excellent quality food really good value and most important very friendly helpful staff a great dinner experience u must try the amazing steak pie

Lovely friendly atmosphere, cosy and welcoming!! Had a family meal for 16 of us and we can not fault the food and service !!! Lovely evening and would not hesitate to rebook!!

I visited the Knight’s Lodge tonight and it was quiz night. Such a friendly pub and lots of laughter. The service was great and I will definitely be going back 😊

Called in on a Saturday early evening. As previous reviews say, it is a strange old building in an estate. The bar had a few locals in when we arrived and we ordered drinks and went upstairs to the dining room, which the six of us had to ourselves for duration!

what an excellent sunday lunch a choice of 3 roast meats for £7.50 per person superb value with plenty on the plate staff were very polite service was excellent will be back again thank you all for a pleasant afternoon

Decidimos llamar aquí después de mi esposa y notando lo conducirán pasando un precioso edificio antiguo que era. En la primera entrando me pareció que habíamos tenido un error, no parece que el tipo de pub que hacían comida, más como un encantador pub antiguo que habían ido a seed! Nos aseguraremos de que decidimos quedarnos y ver cómo se iba, elegido otro lugar para sentarse y pedimos algo de comida pensando que sería la típica comida de pub de bienes raíces! Volveremos, ¡qué sorpresa! Mi esposa tenía 8 oz de cadera, y siendo un poco carnivore, me preguntó si podía tener azul. Mi hija fue por el queso macarrones con cuatro quesos y yo opté por la lasaña. Tuvimos que esperar un poco, pero cuando llegó parecía delicioso, los dos platos de pasta eran enormes y tanto sabía tan bien como parecían! Carne de mi esposa estaba preparado exactamente como ella me gustó con una generosa cantidad de adornos. Este fue, después de un par de reservas cuando llegamos, una joya de encontrar y volveremos para una comida de domingo en el futuro, ya que es destinado a ser fantástico!

Cogimos un taxi hasta aquí durante la estancia en Rockingham cerca... El conductor del taxi había dicho que este sería un buen lugar... bonito pub en llegada y bastante amplio... pero cuando fuimos allí son muy pocas personas en la zona del bar, aparte de los cuatro tres eran u otros. Puede haber sido algo arriba como la gente no venir esporádicamente para conseguir las bebidas y el jardín de la cerveza parecía tener unos bebiendo folk fuera. Había tres cervezas se vuelve disponible, pero sólo dos cervezas de barril, que probamos, quienes siendo Everard's Old Original y Everard De Tigre... tanto agradable cervezas bien cuidado... No más concurridas en la hora o así que nos quedamos un buen pub... pero que también tiene comida. El pub está supuestamente embrujado... pero no puedo decir que vimos algo inusual durante nuestro decir.

Fue invitado aquí en el último minuto tarde almuerzo. He vivido en Corby toda mi vida y puedo decir con toda sinceridad que nunca he estado aquí antes.

Went here with my daughter and the rest of my family before getting a train down to London - we all had different meals and we all really enjoyed everything - could not believe how reasonably priced everything was

Had quite a few of the dishes now. Enjoyed everyone. Great portions. Very reasonable price. Will keep going. Not an extensive menu but enough to choose from. Tasty basic food. Karen

I always have Sunday lunch with my family at the Knights Lodge home cooked food.The staff are polite and efficient and nothing is to much trouble.I have a childrens Sunday lunch for under a fiver and it is more than enough.

The staff are really friendly, surroundings are good, location is easy to find, food rather average, reasonable value for money

This is a great looking pub, in a very strange location. It's around 400 years old, but surrounded by 1970s houses. It has a large beer garden and a welcoming atmosphere. However, due to its location, it's more of a local pub. As such, it's very male dominated, but still friendly and unthreatening. I came here with my wife and son for a quick meal. It was my wife's birthday (no expense spared (!!!)) and we just wanted to try somewhere relatively close. I was attracted by the home cooked food mentioned in other people's reviews. The interior of the pub is typical of the period with an inglenook fireplace and heavy oak beams. I haven't been in here for 34 years, and I remember in the winter it was always great when they had a roaring fire on. The lady on the bar was very polite and friendly and very efficient. We ordered rump steak and my son had sausages and mash and the pub obligingly gave him a side of their chilli con carne too.My steak was excellent, tender and very flavoursome. Unfortunately, though my wife and I ordered the same medium rare, hers was very tough and had been overcooked and handled too much. The chips were very nice, as was the peppercorn sauce. However, my son forced himself to eat what looked like cheap sausages which were hard and over-cooked.If you're looking for good food at a reasonable price that's cooked fresh I believe you will find it in the Knight's Lodge. Freshly cooked food is always better than the pre-prepared and then microwaved food you find in most pubs. However, my advice would be to remind your waiting staff that you want your steak cooked properly and only flipped once, and if you're having sausages, not to overcook them! Whilst I understand this is standard pub fayre, and it won't win any culinary prizes, if I cooked this it would be perfect. I expect if I pay for food it matches my ability. Still, I would recommend the Knight's Lodge for a male whose other half is away type meal!

The Knight's Lodge is a very old building that is well maintained and has many of it's original features preserved. The food is good pub food and is of a very high standard.

I dine at The Knights Lodge at least once a week & I've always had a great meal . Usually I have the steak with all the trimmings , cooked medium of course & better than the Beefeater up the road. The tables upstairs are set with tablecloths and is very very clean & well decorated giving it a special occasion feel. Sunday lunch is great value too with a choice of meats to suite everyone & a choice of large or small portions. I recommend you try it for business lunch or with friends & family as there sure to be impressed as I am . Happy eating peeps x

My family and I ordered food at the Knights Lodge Corby. I was very displeased with the service. I specifically ordered mashed or new potatoes but no chips, and was told this would be fine. I then received chips with my meal. Unhappy with this, I complained the chief but was told loudly in public "You got what was on the menu, don't start!" I then turned to the bar staff only to be told that the kitchen is completely separate. In any other pub or restaurant I would have had an apology and been offered some sort of compensation. Perhaps a free desert or a starter on the next visit, instead I was belittled in public. I do not dine out to be insulted or publicly ridiculed, and I hope this does not happen to anyone else.
